Zanpakutou Spirit Appearance(Optional):
Raito stands at 6'3, making him much taller than Raygin. The spirit has a massive body, proudly displaying its great strength through its muscles. Personality wise, Raito is rough. He is a violent spirit, but not like Shades own Zanpakuto spirit. Rather, Raito believes that battling is the best way to get ones point across. He has a bad habit of dragging Raygin into his own inner world and beating up the poor guy for messing up. Raito represents the Kawadas honor and power perfectly, as it is constantly trying to improve Raygin. Now, he is not a cruel spirit. Raito used to despise Raygin, seeing him as weak and worthless, but over time he came to like his new master and has become Raygins teacher almost. Raito is Raygins training partner when the Shinigami has downtime he enters his inner world and they spar. Raito doesn't want to see weakness in Raygin and aims to improve him in anyway he can.
Inner World:[/b]
Raygins inner world is a massive grass plains. The field extends for infinity in every direction, being nothing but a sea of grass. There is one distinguishable feature in the plains, and that is the campfire. In the center of the world is a large bonfire, representing Raygins will so the stronger his will the larger the flames. Raito is always found at the bonfire, tending to it and taking care of it. Raygins emotions do affect his world. Anger causes a thunderstorm to appear, sadness causes it to rain, despair diminished the flames, confusion causes mighty winds to erupt across the plains, and resolve causes the flames to grow.
Zanpakutou Appearances:
In its sealed form Raygins Zanapkuto takes on the form of a wakizashi, which is basically a short katana. The sword is about 50 centimeters long from its base and its tip. The blade itself has a stainless steel coloring to it, giving it a beautiful steel appearance. The weapon is carried about in a sheathe made from dark brown wood. The Zanpakutos guard is oval shaped, making it look like a basic wakizashi. Rays Zanpakuto doesn’t have any built in unique features, so Raygin had to customize it a bit! His altercations include the symbol of the Kawada on the left side of the swords grip.
Once Shikai has been released the weapon no longer resembles a sword. The Shikai comes in two parts, a physical manifestation on Raygin and a environmental effect. Firstly, when Shikai is released the spiritual steel the blade is made off seems to melt, crawling up Raygins arms like it has a mind of its own. The liquid then solidifies and darkens in color, giving Raygins arms a dark grey metal like covering. Smooth in appearance, the metal does not act like natural metal. It is as flexible as skin, yet as hard as steel. Jutting from the back of both of Rays shoulders is a metal spike, angled and positioned in a way that it would not get in the way of his fighting. Along the metal jumps blue electricity, dancing up and down his arms. The amount of electricity being produced along his arms usually depends on emotional factors. Stronger emotions typically cause more electricity to appear making Rays arms almost appear to be lighting rods.
The second part of Raygins Shikai takes place in the sky above him. Once Raygin releases his Zanpakuto, the hilt of his weapon becomes a bolt of electricity and flies into the sky. Once it has reached a certain point it explodes into a massive electrical storm, painting the sky in a dynamic furry of lightning, like that of endless lightning bolts. The lightning storm is then covered in thick dark gray clouds, casting darkness over the battlefield. There is no rain that falls, only the flashes of lightning and explosion of thunder. The lightning hidden inside the cloud dances across it, never once striking the ground unless commanded to. The cloud will always follow Raygin, he being the eye of the storm. The cloud reaches to a mile in each cardinal direction.
In Bankai, the environment is once again altered. Once the final level of the Zanpakuto is released, the heavy storm cloud casting its darkness on the battlefield finally releases large metal rods to rain down upon the battlefield. Seventy two metal rods, same color and structure of the metal on Raygins arms, rain down on the battlefield in a seemingly random order. But to a keen eye one would note that there is a equal spacing between each rod. The ends of the rods facing to the sky then open up in four jagged points, before the lightning cloud in the sky erupts into a mighty flash and thunderous eruption. Massive lightning bolts will then rain down upon the lightning rods, causing each of them to light up and release streams of lightning, connecting them all together.
Zanapkutou Release Names
Shikai: Bring down the heavens, Raito
Bankai: Bankai! Sutomukingu no howaito raito
Overall Ability:
Raygins overall ability is the manipulation and creation of electricity from both himself and the environment. The material covers him during his release is constantly creating negatively charged electricity while the clouds above him create positively charged electricity. The electricity he creates and controls from his own body is made from his reiatsu, he is immune to the effects electricity has on the body. His Zanpakuto power works by causing electrocution based damage to an opponent as well as charging them with either positive or negative electrical charges.
When struck by an electrical attack originating from Raygin, the enemy is not only damaged but also becomes negatively charged. When someone is charged with electricity, everything they touched becomes charged as well This leads to the second part of Raygins Zanpakuto, the thundercloud in the sky which is comprised of positive charged electricity. Once an enemy has been negatively charged Raygin can command his Zanpkauto to release a lightning bolt from the cloud and at the opponent, drawn in by the attraction between the two poles. The lightning bolt moves at a steady speed of 600, being fast enough to catch many opponents unaware and by surprise. The destructive force of the lightning bolt comes from both the electrocution and the temperature, ranging to near one thousand degrees Fahrenheit. The power behind the lightning bolts is so strong it can easily demolish a building the size of an average grocery store. Size of the bolts ranges to always being around the size of a car. The electrical power though, the true force behind the attack, is enough to leave someone in a critical condition. The sudden introduction to such an overwhelming amount of electricity is enough to leave someone cooked and paralyzed. It's been said that the amount of electrical power that Raygins lightning bolts generates is enough to power a city the size of Chicago for an estimated two minutes. Areas and people struck by this Zanpakutos lightning strikes are charged with postitive ions, unless they were already charged with Raygins negatives and in that case they are not charged with either.
A limitation is that enemies and objects only remain charged with electricity for two posts, unless they are hit once again by Raygin then the countdown is reset. It costs 200 reiatsu to call down a lightning strike, making Raygins use of it only when required.
Shikai Overall Ability:
In Shikai, the material covering Raygins arms is constantly producing blueish white electricity, even to the visible eye. It dances and arches across the dark grey metallic substance. But a visual effect is not all that this Zanpakuto does. When an enemy is struck by Raygins material covered arms they are subject to a serious electrical attack along with being negatively charged with electrical ions. The electrical shock received by being struck with this attack is powerful, being enough to stun a full grown man and inflict serious pain upon them, even burning them if struck enough times in the same spots. As the electricity that Raygin uses manifests around his arms he gains an extended reach for his electricity to hit. If an enemy dodges one of Raygins punches but remains within two inches of his arm, the electricity will still hit them. If Raygin where to grab ahold of an enemy when using his Shikai, they would have to endure a nonstop electric shock until either they broke free from Rays grip or Ray let them go. As grappling is not something Raygins utilizes in his fighting style, this isnt something he pulls off very often. The amount of electrical power Raygin generates through his fists in Shikai is staggering at best. Single blows are enough to bring down full grown adult elephants and send full grown men onto their knees Typically, defenses like Blut or Hierro can stop Raygins electrical shocks and usually require the raw power of the lightning bolts to damage, but Hierro has a weakness that Blut does not. If Raygin was to grab ahold of an Arrancar or entity using Hierro, the constant electric shocks they experience would bypass their Hierro by entering things like their mouths or eyes.
Bankai Overall Ability:
Raygins Bankai is best described as an environmental release. When Bankai is released, seventy two dark gray metal rods fall from the sky and situate themselves around the battlefield, within a fifty meter radius around Raygin. These lightning rods then absorb the electrical power generated from the sky and creates electrical chains that link them all together. This creates a sort of boundary around the battlefield, caging an opponent in and keeping them from escaping. The overall power of Raito is mostly the same, but the way it is performed has become different. Raygin can now call down multiple lightning bolts for the price of one, three for 200 reiatsu. But he no longer needs the enemy to be ionized for it to track them. The lighting rods situated around the battlefield act as guides for Raygins lightning bolts. He can manipulate the bolts to travel along the chains of electricity, and once close enough to an enemy to fire out and strike them. Coming close, within two feet, of the lightning rods has disastrous results for the enemy, as being that close will cause the electricity in the rod to electrocute them for getting to close to something with so much electricity in it. The lightning bolts retain their power while their speed has been increased to 1000.
Zanpakuto Techniques:
Shikai Techniques
"Shogekiha" The first technique of Rays Zanpakuto. This technique involves Raygin focusing the power of the electricity he creates from the metal on his arms and then launching it at an opponent. By focusing and drawing the electricity into his hands, Raygin can force it to take on a spherical shape. He will then literally throw the electricity at an opponent. When throw, the focused power of the electricity appears as a glowing blue orb surrounded by a electric coating. If an enemy is struck by the attack, they undergo electrocution on the same level of power as if Raygin grabs onto them, normally stunning them in place until the effects of electricity dies down. The speed of the bolt is determined by the strength behind the throw. It should also be mentioned that when an enemy is hit, they become charged with negative ions.
This technique has other uses though. If Raygin happens to miss an enemy with this technique was to hit a solid object, the orb then explodes outward. The power of the explosion is determined by Raygins reiatsu strength. If an enemy is caught within the explosion radius, they will be electrocuted and charged with the negative ions. Additionally, if Raygin is to land this technique in a spot charged with positive ions (via a lightning strike) then a chain reaction happens. Once the two ions meet the area becomes an electric flurry, causing electricity to wild fling about that area for around ten seconds before it dies down. Someone caught in this wont be charged, but will be stunned and forced to endure electrocution. This technique costs 100 reiatsu. If powered by the Raitoningu this technique has no cost. On top of that, the reiatsu strength for the explosion is counted as being 30% stronger than normal.
"Raitoningu" is a resourceful technique if used right, and incredibly powerful. Raitos overall ability is that it can call down lightning on an opponent who has been charged. Well, what happens when Raygin calls down lightning on himself who is already charged with negative ions? The result is this techniques activation. By calling down a lightning bolt on himself, the small metal spikes on Raygins shoulders will absorb the electrical power of the lightning bolt and infuse it to all of Raygins electrical powers. In technical terms, once this technique is used the next Zanpakuto technique Raygin uses has no cost and is increased in power. All techniques will be roughly 30% stronger and Raygins natural electric punches will have far more shocking results on an enemy.
This technique though is not just a supporting power. It can be used as an attack if need be. Raygin can absorb the lightning bolt then fire it right at an enemy for a surprise attack. The lightning bolt still retains all its power and size despite using Raygin as a conduit. In order to use this method Raygin must release the bolt as soon as he absorbs it, not allowing its power to spread out. This technique has its own drawbacks, of course. Firstly, it costs 300 reiatsu. A costly technique. Secondly, after using either a upgraded attack or just firing the lightning, Raygins electricity needs time to recharge. As positive ions mix with negative, this ends Raygins electrical powers for a time. Raygin is left without his Zanpakutos power for two posts.
"Kaminari" a so called defensive technique, this causes the electricity in Raygins arms to spread out around him in a spherical form, defending him from physical attackers and forcing them to back off or become electrocuted. The electricity spreads out to three feet around Raygin. A second use of the technique is Raygin can focus it rather than leaving it uncontrolled, He can focus the lightning to move in one particular direction, extending the reach to five feet instead of three. If charged by Raitoningu, the technique has no cost and extends to five and seven feet. Costs, normally, 75 reiatsu.
