OOC: This post is training for Bringer Light
Under the endless sands of Hueco Mundo lies a cave that has been sealed for centuries. The opening has been lost among the sands and the massive cavern has had no life, nor hollows, in it for this long period of time. However, there remained one access to it, an illegal scroll sold on the black market. This scroll had been found by Kazura Uzaki, who quickly explored the potential of his new hidden lair. It was his batcave, a place where he could go and have peace, away from the politics of Earth and the War of the Soul Society. And when he found himself with the taint of reiatsu, a fullbring, he decided that he needed to be at peace in order to discover the extent of his abilities.
Alone in his cavern, which was spacious but empty, he decided to first put effort into understanding what he had done in the hospital after fighting Souza. “I just pulled, and the glass came towards me…” He tested his will little by little, exerting it on the stale air around him or on the rocky ground. He found it to be quite malleable, as if it bent to his desire. The ground could become softer or harder, the air could move and dance around him. Crouching down low, he pushed off of the ground, letting it sink and then rise to give him a boost. He found himself jumping much higher than he was usually capable of, which was exhilarating.
“Now… My downfall has always been the way that those Shinigami move their bodies quicker than the eye can track. If I’m going to stand on the same level as them, I must master the same technique.” But... how did they accomplish their incredible speed? He hadn't seen them once bend the elements around them like he found himself capable of, choosing instead to use their Kidou. So if he had different skills than they did, was it even possible for him to travel at such incredible speeds? Only a little bit of practice and hard work could find out.
Kazura started practicing by being used to propelling himself with the ground. As he ran, he let the rock soften and harden as needed to push himself forwards, and understood where he needed to make the ground at the next step ready for his foot to land. Working on Soul Manipulation in this way was getting his body used to the feeling of reiatsu and the feeling of using it to his advantage and to his will. In doing so, he was developing reflexes and skill, but that would only do so much in trying to learn a way to spring himself forwards at insane speeds.
The new Fullbringer realized soon that he wasn't getting anywhere near the speeds he was hoping for. In order to launch himself forwards like that, he'd need to use reiatsu in some other way. When watching Pavel, he had seen the spiritual energy used very internally, to support the body in different ways. Maybe internalizing reiatsu is how he would accomplish the fast step. But Kazura wasn't quite sure how to do that. He could do minor things with his new powers, but something as focused as internalizing the reiatsu was going to be a bit tougher.
He started small, by concentrating his will into letting his flow of energy clump up in his body. He wanted to be able to feel the physical forces caused by higher or lower concentrations of reiatsu, so that he would be able to adjust later as needed. He alternated sitting, standing, and hand standing to get a real feel for the energy in his body. It was as if he was a young boy again, learning how to master his self once more. His mind was sharp, and his body was fit, but now he had a new inner sense that had to be honed.
When he was done with that, it was time to actually put the energy into practice. If he could expel it from his body to push himself, then he might be able to reach the speeds that he had so frequently seen the Shinigami flippantly reaching. Steeling his mind, and clearing his path so he didn't hit any walls, he let the reiatsu pool in his feet before pushing it out as he ran forwards. It... didn't work so well. He found himself moving wildly, and not even that much faster. He stopped trying to just push, and instead decided to just use what he had been already practicing with.
Rather than working with himself, he worked with the ground he was standing on. Manipulating the ground with his own reiatsu, he ran forwards, and nearly immediately felt the breath rush out of his lungs as he moved faster than a car for just a split moment. He landed haphazardly, tumbling to the ground as the speed suddenly left him. "I... could get... used to this..." A genuine smile sat on his face as he repeated the task, dashing forwards again and again until he was nearly out of breath. As he did so, he realized that by chaining each step together, he could reach even higher speeds, albeit it made him absolutely exhausted to do so. It would be a last ditch effort, but it could be done. "This... is actually happening... I'm becoming a true Fullbringer now... Well so be it."
