Kazura felt like such a fool. He was in charge of bringing up the rear, with Beta in between him and Himitsu. So, it logically was his job to pay attention to her. When they heard the roar in the distance, his attention wavered from her and that was it, she was gone, sprinting ahead of the two men. They both started running after her, but were too late. If it wasn't for the follow up scream and roar, they would never have been completely sure which path she had taken in her blind rush to go to her brother.
With their equal speeds, Kazura and Himitsu would get to the room at the same time. The beast was massive, and had Beta pinned down. Not having been here sooner, the inventor couldn't tell what exactly the Chimera was. Was it Alpha, or something else? Had Beta been talking to the real Alpha and then been ambushed by the Chimera and the real Alpha was pushed out of sight? Either way, the two men both wanted to help the girl without harming the creature above her unduly. Well, Himitsu cared about that, Kazura not so much. The Chimera, while fascinating and definitely worth looking at the research for, wasn't human. Beta took massive precedence in Kazura's racist mind just because she looked human and the Chimera did not.
While the Shinigami reached for his kidou tools that were less lethal, such as summoning a large tidal wave to push aside the beast instead of harm it, Kazura reached for a few more deadly tools. He pulled out his laser bow and both handguns, letting them float around him. He followed the wake of the wave, getting close but not within immediate wing or paw range. The UE1 handgun was loaded with regular bullets, while the UE2 was loaded with explosive rounds. With a laser notched to the bow, ammunition in the chamber ready to be fired, and Kazura staying alert for anything the creature might do in response to the water.
