Hi all,
and may I first point out that you´ve made an extremely good looking forum and from what I can tell rpg. I´ve played several online rpg, starting with a dbz rpg and my latest was a bleach rpg, but this is by far the most extensive one.
Then to my question: unfortunately the the last bleach rpg died an untimely dead, long before it was due, so now I am looking for a new rpg. I´ve quickly browsed a bit through the sections and read the first sections of the rules. My first impression seems that it is good, but perhaps a bit too big for my liking. Then again new things always seems bigger when first looked upon. ^^
Anyway I was thinking of joining this apparently wonderful, booming rpg, but I had a question first: I didn´t read every rule, and guide yet, I tend to leave that to the point when I´ve made up my mind and want to make a character, but I came across something that worried me a bit:
Is there a maximum to the amount of power, skill, etc. you can achieve? For example in my last bleach rpg I was an unseated officer of the 8th division, but could actually hold my own in combat against most vice captains and the (weak) 10th division captain. I don´t like to fight that much, but I like the idea of being able to create strong chars, without rank etc.
Is such a thing possible? and is there a maximum limit to a characters strenght?
I´m looking forward to hearing your answer as I am hoping I found a new worthy rpg to join.

Hey there!
First of all, welcome to Bleach: Online World. If you join our c-box (bleachrpf.chatango.com), you'll see me float around as zwolf777, where you can contact me or any other staff member, as well as many of our helpful community members. Z or Wolf works fine for reference. I'm one of our High-Authority Mods (HAMs for short).
Now, as for your question, that's not too hard to approach. Yes, we do have a maximum limit on a character's strength statistically, depending on a lot of factors. For example, Rank; when you get to Section 7 of our rules, you'll see that our "Types," which support our stats in various ways, are divided into "ranks." There is more information on what constitutes what rank in the same section, with further details in Section 3. Basically, a Captain gets a better advantage on his Type than an unseated officer without Bankai, for example, so he has a much higher statistical bonus.
In addition, we do have it known that certain races are superior to others. Arrancar, for example, are in general stronger than Shinigami, and are a direct counter to Quincies. On the other hand they lose to our Fullbringers, who have special abilities that allow them to ignore an Arrancar's powerful Hierro. It's basically a rock-paper-scissors sometimes, with Akki being that "volcano" or "god" throw that people put out there just to win. They are considered the strongest race.
However, this is only statistical, for the most part, with some creative uses involved. In a more creative sense, creativity and potential are unlimited, often allowing us to override stats to a sense. It still doesn't allow an Academy Student to beat a Zero Division member (unless the ZD lets them, for some unknown reason...), but it can balance out the difference of 1-2 classes easily, and maybe more to a limited extent. Class does govern a lot in this forum however, such as the clash between techniques, and so know that just because you're creative, you won't always come out ahead.
The short of my answer is yes and no; there are direct limits on strength based on stats, and a lot more freedom thanks to creativity, but there will still always be general "tiers" of power. Ranks will still play some part, though.
I know you like creating strong characters without rank, which is why you might want to consider a Human World Dweller (shortened to HWD), which includes Fullbringers, Bounts, and Mod Souls. These races can take Mercenary Ranks rather than having to be part of an organization, earning their strength through completed missions and proof of their capability. Should you still decide to go for a Shinigami or Arrancar, however, know that it's possible to start at a higher tier rather than from the bottom. This is known as our "Power Tier" path, in which you start high and just go from there. "Training Tier," on the other hand, is when we start from the bottom and work up to the top, earning additional Stat Points (SP) and technique slots. Really, how you want to do it is up to you.
I hope you enjoy your time here at Bleach: Online World, and feel free to drop by the chat if you have questions or want to meet our community. You're also more than welcome to keep asking questions here.
