John had to consciously stop his jaw from dropping. This man chose not to believe him, just because he felt like it? John felt offended. It didn't matter that Mr. McAllister was right, it seemed like John could have told him anything, and he wouldn't have believed it. John had poor energy sensory, and wasn't really able to tell just how powerful the man across from him was. Perhaps he could read minds... John shuddered at the thought. However, as he forced the drink into John's hand, and threatened him, John decided that this man was downright detestable. John never liked being forced to do things.
"Well, sir..." John stood up as he said it, trying to gain at least a bit of control. "If you won't believe that, what can I say? I might as well have told you anything, and you'd still call me a liar. Here I am, a paying customer of your fine establishment, with no intention of uncovering anything nasty, and here I am, being threatened. I'm sure someone of your level of intelligence would realise that I, alone, pose no threat to anything you may do. And I hope you're not too offended by me not taking a drink, but I never liked the taste of alcohol. Good day, sir."
The words tumbled out of John's mouth with confidence, this man had really just annoyed him. Not many people did that, but it was that mixture of arrogance and his condescending nature which infuriated John. Well, he couldn't stick around after a tirade like that, so John turned to leave, but as he did, he mentally prepared himself for an attack. It could come from any of the people in the room, and John doubted that he would be allowed to leave so easily.
