As Jin's yoyo closed the distance, he noticed that his target was no longer standing where he was aiming. His eyes widened, and that respect and admiration could once again be seen within those hungry eyes of his. When the yoyo cut through the air and made their way back to him, he caught them and looked around for the Ogatago. His search didn't take him far, however, since Kassen hadn't moved very far. He was ready to attack again but stopped suddenly when he heard Kassen Oro's words. It wasn't necessarily what he said that made Jin stop, but it was how he said it. Jin could feel the coldness in his voice. It was enough to make him shiver way more than the ice covering this labyrinth had been able to do. Kassen Oro sounded disappointed and upset.
Jin shook his head, trying to clear it and shake away the hunger he felt. What was he doing? Just lunging out like that and attacking. That wasn't his style. Nycha and Hope probably thought he was crazy now. He could tell that they had probably lost alot of trust for him throughout this whole mission. It wasn't something they had necessarily said to him exactly, rather it was something he could feel. He had been acting pretty suspicious the whole time they were down here. Lying to them, not telling them the whole story, and now attacking an enemy like Kassen Oro without giving them any warning. He had to get himself together.
Jin regained his sanity just enough to hear Kassen Oro's words. He referred to the Quincy as their mortal enemy. Jin remembered reading something like that in a scroll within the Bount Citadel. Was that why Shauna was reluctant to help him with the Shada Hollow at first? He hadn't treated Quincy like enemies because they had done nothing to harm him. It was true that they had fought and killed many Bount in the past, but now everything was fine between Quincy and Bount. At least, with the Quincy Jin knew in Redemption. He hadn't felt any negativity or animosity from them. Was it because of Death-Sama and Redemption that things were fine between Quincy and Bount now?
Jin then heard Kassen tell them of things they weren't aware of. He told Jin that there were two things that he wasn't aware of. Jin's mind, which had been only focused on the hunger for power he felt a few seconds ago quickly tuned in to Kassen Oro's words. He wanted to know this. As Leader, he was supposed to know everything about his race. Whatever this juicy information was, he wanted to know. He wasn't exactly sure why Kassen Oro was telling them all of this or how he even knew about any of it, but he wasn't going to pass up the information he was given.
Jin's eyes widened when he heard that there was a city of Bount. A city of Bount was located on an island and he didn't even know it. It seemed they had been able to make refuge afterall. Most likely in a place that Shinigami didn't even know about. How long had they been living on that island for half the Bount population to be there? Jin didn't even think that that many Bount even existed in the world. He had been told that his race was dying out. The news didn't even stop there either. After telling him that there were around six or seven thousand of his race still existing, Kassen proceeded to tell him that he could also find and locate all of the Bount in the world using some globe within the Bount Citadel. Jin had never thought anything of that globe. He had seen it many times while he trained in the Citadel, but he had never thought that it could do something like that.
Jin's eyes dropped down to the ground and he stared at his feet in shame. He should have known these things that Kassen was telling him. It was shameful as Leader that he hadn't. He just stood there for a few moments as Nycha and Hope asked their questions, taking in everything. "H-how didn't I know these things?" he asked himself in a whisper. He also realized that the cat was kinda out of the bag now. Kassen Oro had confirmed that the Bount Citadel was in the labyrinth for Nycha and Hope to hear. They'd know for sure now that he had been lying to them. They probably wouldn't trust him anymore now too. That was okay with him though. He was only in Redemption to save his race. He figured that with Death-sama's help, he could protect all of the Bount from Shinigami and other races out to destroy them. Just then, Jin realized something else. Why was Kassen working for the Ogatago? Why wasn't he helping the Bount?
"Kassen, you're the strongest Bount in history. Why did you disappear to join the Ogatago? Why didn't you become the Leader of the Bount race and help it survive against the Shinigami?" Jin began asking after Nycha and Hope had asked their own round of questions and had them answered. He then pocketed his yoyo to show that he wasn't going to attack again. He was trying his very best at the moment to suppress that hunger he was feeling in Kassen Oro's presence. Maybe it would be better to redirect it towards someone else. Right now, Kassen was helping them and it probably wouldn't be good to attack him again. So, Jin was going to redirect that hunger and thirst for power towards the army. Suddenly, he had another idea. He wasn't sure if it would work or not, but if he played off of Kassen's True Bount nature, his plan would probably work. He was sure that Kassen was feeling the same kind of hunger he was feeling right now.
"The Citadel is home to all Bount. Even if you are an Ogatago, you're still a Bount at heart. Surely your Bount pride wouldn't stand just letting those Quincy destroy the Citadel." Jin said, a smile forming on his face. Hopefully, Kassen's urge to fight someone would help Jin with his plan. He honestly couldn't take on that army of Quincy on his own. Even with Hope and Nycha, he didn't think they had a chance. Nycha had powerful kidou because of her reiatsu strength, but her main ability was healing. That wasn't exactly enough to drive the army back. Kassen on the other hand, an old Bount. The strongest in fact. He was old, experienced, and extremely powerful; especially being an Ogatago. "Just this once...why don't we team up to teach those Quincy what happens when dealing with Bount?" Jin asked.
