Shade’s eyes narrowed as his zweihander cut into the other man’s hand as the fullbringer dragged his hand across his blade. Lutz didn’t even try to dodge the shikai’s attack as Shade brought Buraindo Kira screaming at the man’s upper half. Meanwhile the human avoided the brunt of the other strike by stepping a bit to the side, however, with some minor adjustment on Shade’s part he was able to continue his strikes even further and create a gash in the other man’s leg. There was no way that Lutz remain in close proximity to Shade as the soul reaper attacked everything that was high and low, both in front of him and to each side. However the second cut wouldn’t be a game-changer and only caused the fullbringer to develop a slight limp without sacrificing speed. The two fighters separated and distanced themselves from each other. With blood on both his blades, Shade noticed that a strange mark had appeared on his zanpakutou.
The soul reaper examined the mark curiously with a suspicious look, but his attention was immediately caught by Emerich as he uttered a single sentence. “That cut is siphoning your reiatsu,” came the words from the quincy’s mouth. Shade’s attention turned to Lutz as he smirked and released his secondary fullbring, cauterizing his wound in the process. This stopped Shade’s ability to syphon reiatsu from his body, but Shade had gained a little bit from the brief time he’d been cut. “My name was William Vincent. My name will be Lutz Friedrich,” said the fullbringer as his coat of flames burned around him. In an instant the human charged directly at him, delivering a seemingly straightforwards punch. Shade had only moments to think before Lutz reached him.
With an unexpected decision, Shade dropped Buraindo Kira completely allowing the two-hundred pound weapon to fall on the floor. With his now-free hand, Shade reached into his shinigami robes and pulled out another weapon which appeared to be a gun. The fullbringer was quick though, and he was upon Shade before the lieutenant could properly aim his firearm. However, Shade had not expected to have time to aim. Instead he used his other arm, the one holding Jisatsu Kasumi, to slash at the fullbringer before he was even in range of hitting Shade with his fist. If Lutz continued with his punch then he’d be cleaved in two from the head through the groin. Shade surmised that he might use Bringer Light, but didn’t count on that fact.
Meanwhile Buraindo Kira laid on the floor, untouched and unneeded. Shade had deemed using his shikai as too dangerous as soon as he saw the strange mark on it. If he absolutely needed it than he wouldn’t hesitate to pick it up again, but since he didn’t know what Lutz’s abilities were, he couldn’t rely on it. There were too many things that might be wrong with his zanpakutou right now, and Shade wasn’t ready to lean on such uncertainty in battle. Instead the vice-captain armed himself with a weapon that the fullbringer would have difficulty touching with his power, his Ice Gun. With a quick movement Shade pointed the weapon at Lutz, slowly beginning to circle him. It was up to Lutz to decide what happened next.
Remaining Reiatsu: 1,350 (+50 from Lutz)
Shikai: 2/10
