Quest Threads
Quest Threads aren't too different from Adventure Threads, but they have their own mechanics regarding how they're handled. A Quest is a series of small Adventures that lead up towards one major goal. They are stepping stones for a larger plot. Quest Threads are multiple missions that lead up to that final goal, and each mission is essentially a miniature Adventure in itself. There is a required minimum of three missions to any Quest. All missions remain within a single Quest Thread. They are not separate threads.
For example, you can create a Quest to kill a dragon at the top of a mountain. Hypothetically, this can be split into a few different parts. You must perform each of these separate missions in order to reach the dragon. From there, it just takes a little creativity to make the small missions work throughout the Quest. All of these feats are done within a single thread, so Quests tend to take a very long time. This is entirely natural, so don't fret over it.
Quests are also rewarded differently than Adventures. In Adventures, you're only rewarded at the end of a thread. Quests give you rewards as you complete various tasks within a thread in addition to an end reward. You can gain rewards through missions, for example. Depending on the difficulty of it, participants can gain various rewards at the end of the thread per mission. For an Easy mission, participants will gain 200 TP as an end reward, plus an additional 200 TP per Easy difficulty page. For a Medium mission, they will get 400 TP at the end and 200 additional TP per page. Hard missions get 600 TP at the end and 300 additional TP per page. Extreme missions have negotiable rewards, and DE and NDE status have no impact on said rewards.
The other kind of reward is through the acquisition of Quest Points (QP). QP are an in-game point system that has a variety of uses and is earned in multiple ways. QP can be used as an in-Quest currency in place of Ryo, with shops sellings things for a QP value instead. They can also be used as TP for your character by being immediately converted into CTP and TTP. These CTP and TTP values can then be added to your point bank. QP cannot be converted to SP from CTP. If your Class changes or you gain new techniques, you must make an OOC note at the end and post changed Stats and new techniques so you can use them. QP can also be gained from completing missions, including optional objectives. QP reward amount is up to the thread leader.
Encounters have their own rewards, as well. An encounter is defined by an obstacle that prevents adventure progress or the completion of a mission, whether that be an event, a group of enemies, or a single enemy. In general, each “encounter” should be reasonable for the level of the quest. Base Ryo rewards may vary by encounter difficulty, and item drops are possible depending on the thread leader’s discretion. Any created items must have equal value to the difficulty of the enemy defeated and must be approved by a staff member. There are five difficulty levels with specified rewards, but these rewards are based on NDE Quests. In a DE Quest, the rewards gained from enemies are doubled.
- Typical - Class 8-6. They are small-scale and worth 50 QP and 250 Ryo each.
- Moderate - Class 5-4. They are a bit stronger and worth 125 QP and 625 Ryo each.
- Warrior - Class 3-2. They are low-end bosses or stronger encounters and are worth 250 QP and 1250 Ryo each.
- Monster - Class 1. They are high-end bosses and are worth 500 QP and 5,000 Ryo each.
- Legendary - Class 1-0. They are next-to-impossible to defeat and are worth 1,000 QP and 10,000 Ryo each.
Thread leaders for Quests also get rewarded at the end. These rewards are mostly handled in the same way Adventure Thread leaders are given rewards. However, their rewards are based on the highest difficulty of each page since thread difficulty tends to vary between missions of a Quest. If you wish to create a Quest, please use the "Quest Thread Template."
