-Appearance-
Height/Weight: 6ft 1in / 230 lbs.
Physical Description:
Reference:
Gael is a man amongst men. Standing at just over 6 feet in height he tends to be taller than most around him. And if he’s not taller he’s usually larger than them due to his overall muscular form. It’s not unfair to say Gael is something of a gym rat given just how muscular he is. No part of his body hasn’t been strengthened in some capacity. But while his physique is definitely near perfection he is not without flaws. He’s near constantly got cuts around his hands and fingers for simply being unable to use knives properly and inevitably hurting himself. He’s got his right side from his armpit down to his hip a bright purple/red due to having been burnt in the past by boiling water. Along with scars on either side of his torso, just under the ribcage. These are surgical scars and while thin are still easily noticeable.
Shifting from his overall form to his face, Gael is definitely a looker. No two ways around it. Man’s got a thick, full, dark brown beard and mustache combo. It reached about 3 inches from his skin off and covers his jawline and sides of his face. Leading us up to tapered hair on both sides with the topmost part of his head and combed back hair on top. The top hair is trimmed and kept clean. And for the most part is the same dark brown except it does have a single gray streak that goes from the right half of his hairline to about half of his head back.
With bright gray eyes the streak not only matches but helps bring attention to his eyes and his face as a whole. His eyebrows are thick but notable maintained with minimal, if any hairs out of line. He has wrinkles around his eyes either due to some kind of stress or fatigue, and his nose is crooked and a bit flattened. It’s obvious to tell this man has been in many a fist fight considering how it's effectively permanently set like this. Last but not least Gael has dark brown freckles that coat his cheeks and nose.
For clothing it varies depending on the situation, but Gael tends to wear simple clothes. A button up with a t-shirt underneath, boots, jeans, and a belt. Along with a bracelet or two and possibly a necklace. The colors vary wildly depending on if he feels inclined to be dark and brooding or if he wants to be bright and cheerful as well as the weather for the day. For more important matters Gael tends to go with a standard formal attire. A suit coat, button up long sleeve shirt tie combo, slacks, and dress shoes. Formal attire tends to stick to grays, blacks, and dark blues. He is however a fan of trench coats. And when the day is willing, he is almost never without one such coat if only due to enjoying how he looks in them.

-Personality-
Dislikes:
1. The “Unnaturals”:
Gael is, in his own words, not racist but more acting as a shield for the world. Or rather the slice of the world he can involve himself within. But it cannot be understated just how much he vehemently hates the following races: Failures, Mod Souls, Arrancar, Vizards, and most importantly Bount. All of these qualify as “unnaturals” in his mind. Or at least he was taught as such because none of these races are created naturally. Failures are the results of experiments that created the Arrancar and Vizards. Mod souls are a direct manipulation of souls real or not and Bount are literal parasites on the world. None of these creatures came about through the cycle of souls, life, and death. And because of that they are all slated to die by Gaels hand if he finds them.
2. Bounts:
Bounts hold a special place in Gaels heart as these are the unforgivable wretches that killed his father and brother. These things didn’t even just kill them but consumed their souls, ensuring their deaths were permanent regardless of what powers the spiritual worlds have. To this end, Gael cannot and will not forgive, forget, or even abide a bount’s presence as they are not only a danger to others but also the source of significant grief.
3. His Quincy Arrows:
Gael for all intents and purposes doesn’t typically take joy in killing things. Especially hollows. They’re effectively collections of souls that are forcibly bound together due to having been consumed. And yet upon death with special weapons they can be saved. Except not for Gael. His arrows kill everything they come in contact with. While he thankfully cannot generate them, it doesn’t make him feel all that much better knowing that if he ever uses his arrows they will for all intents and purposes permanently remove a being from the Soul Cycle.
4. Politics:
Really in any context Gael just isn’t capable of giving a fuck. If he has to go through hoops, paperwork, or worse yet a group of people he’s going to be pissed. It’s all a matter of the fact that it's dick swinging. Justification that’s unnecessary. And appealing to those who are likely so far out of the scope that their opinion doesn’t matter. And yet there are times where he must. And try as he might to hide his frustration at these situations it's pretty obvious, he just hates every minute of it.
5. Money:
This is a weird thing to explain. It’s not the concept of money that is necessarily the problem, it's more that he needs it for functionally everything in existence. It’s tiring that if something happens his first thought is “Can I afford this?” or “Is this going to cost a lot?”. It’s just tiring and honestly depressing. And sadly, it's how he lives right now as he’s not some exceptionally wealthy individual that doesn’t need to worry about “minor inconveniences” such as costs.
Likes:
1. Helping others:
Gael just enjoys being able to see something change for the better. And if he can do something that makes someone’s day better then that's all the reason he needs to do his best to help. It’s not exactly often he even can help appreciably so when he can he’ll reach out and see what, if anything, he can do.
2. Learning about literally anything:
“Knowledge, in any capacity, is useful. It’s just a matter of finding the right situation for it.” These are words Gael lives by and is why he’s successful at many things. While he may not have a photographic memory he tries to remember the important bits. Names, faces, places, ideas, feelings, etc. And then attempt to apply them at later points. It’s how he has retained a decent amount of knowledge regarding the spiritual world as it is. While it's not perfect he has a level of understanding that for someone who was more or less “homeschooled” in the spiritual realm is pretty significant.
3. Training / Fighting:
While Gael has less than pleasant feelings about killing someone, sans his few exceptions, he’s more than willing to get in a fight. And will happily do so. Hell he trains at gyms that host fighting clubs and even goes so far as to pretend to fight his shadow and other imaginary beings with whatever he can pick up. It’s fun, keeps him moving, and focuses his mind on the immediate. It also gives him a place to show off the progress he’s made with his strength training.
4. Animals / Beasties:
All creatures that are animalistic in nature are just big babies to Gael. To an extent he views hollows in a similar fashion. They are just bigger and definitely scarier babies compared to the average and common things you’d see like dogs, cats, squirrels, crows, etc. Were his presence not physically caustic to them he may even go so far as to try and tame one. But that’s a dangerous game and probably not a good idea given most are human souls not actual animals. Regardless, Gael is an animal lover regardless of how deadly and frankly worrying they are. Animal life in any capacity, including insects, are just friends to be as far as he’s concerned.
5. Honesty:
In the non-spiritual world, there’s already many reasons to lie. To avoid consequences. To say things to someone in a “nice” way. Or even to benefit personally. With the spiritual world and all the shit that goes down in it, there’s too many times where lying is easy to do. And sometimes justified. That’s why Gael genuinely appreciates it when others are being honest with him and it's why he attempts to be honest with all those he meets. Even those he does have murderous intent towards. It also blessedly keeps things simple and makes sure everyone is on the same page. For better or worse.
Flaws:
1. Impatient:
Gael is a man of many talents. . . And patience is not one of them. Gael is a “go in and address a problem” kind of man. He can only wait so long for issues to be resolved and actively likes to take part in ensuring a solid resolution to any problem before him. Even going so far as to take a simpler option even if it's questionable as if it’ll truly be the correct answer. As long as it's noticeably quicker to enact than another choice.
2. Hates Bounts:
Gael will not hesitate to attack bounts once he realizes that one is near him. And it's not even a sort of wait for a prime moment to attack. Instead he’ll jump out of his seat, push others aside and immediately start going to town on them if he can say for certain someone is. Hell, it doesn’t even matter if they’re noticeably stronger than him, he’ll attempt to attack them. His hatred for bounts in particular just runs about as deep as possible.
3. Honest to a fault:
It doesn’t matter who it is or what the subject is about. Gael actively refuses to lie. It would take an act of god to make him lie and a second divine intervention for someone to believe him as he has tells as obvious as a sore thumb. For better or worse, whoever speaks to Gael is going to get his thoughts as they are. No doubt, this will lead him into issues as it has in the past but unless life and maybe limb is on the line, you can be certain he’ll still be honest.
4. Lonely:
Gael is admittedly lonely. Very much so. It’s a bit hard for Gael to form real meaningful relationships with non-spiritual folk as they are for the most part unaware of the world around them. And to Gael it's akin to hiding a part of himself. Eerily close to lying which doesn’t help him feel any better. He doesn’t even have any animals around as he’s concerned, he might attract something that may harm them. So even his apartment is empty. It’s just kind of a lonely life as far as things are concerned.
Habits:
1. Stroking his beard:
It's less of a thoughtful action and more just a thing he does. When confused, he'll stroke his beard. When bored, he'll comb through his beard. When excited he checks on it to make sure it looks good. While it may not be a constant thing, he does frequently touch and stroke his beard.
2. Jots down new information:
As mentioned previously, Gael enjoys learning. Both for self-interest and just because he enjoys it. But not every time he learns something can he just keep it in mind. He has to write down the information and he writes down on whatever is around him. Napkins, documents, clothing, his hands. Everything within grabbing range is fair game.
3. Tapping his foot:
The impatience Gael experiences is something he tries to keep to himself, but he can't help that it leaks through in various means. One such means is tapping his foot. It's fast, annoying, and can start jittering his entire leg. The longer he waits for something, especially if it's very important, it will get worse very quickly.
Fears:
1. Not cleansing the Unnaturals:
It’s a job that's too big for Gael. He knows that but it doesn’t stop him from believing that he HAS to kill at least a noticeable amount. Because if he doesn’t, others could end up like him. Scarred for life or worse, dead and truly gone. Souls shredded or otherwise ceasing to exist. It’s a fate he doesn’t wish on anyone.
2. Losing his spiritual abilities:
There’s always a looming thought in the back of Gael’s mind that he could lose his ability to see and sense the spiritual at the drop of a dime. It’s why he moved to Karakura given that so much spiritual activity occurs. But even still, those who have been born and raised can’t see or sense it. And it worries him that in time, he’ll be like them.
3. Not taming a spiritual beast:
This is a silly and frankly dumb hope of Gaels. But he well and truly wants to tame a hollow or some kind of spiritual beast. And if he can’t do so in this life, it's just going to be a regret that follows him. And that’s assuming such things even exist! While hollows are plenty, other noteworthy creatures. . . aren’t really. At least none that he is aware of. So, it worries him that he may very well have a goal that is just unachievable.
Goals:
1. Become strong enough to challenge the “Unnaturals” in the world:
Simple, sweet, and to the point. Gael for a variety of reasons, hasn’t been able to fully dedicate himself to trying to gain spiritual strength. Effectively, living has just gotten in the way. But he needs to get more powerful if he can even hope to start hunting down those, he’s learned are unnatural to the soul cycle.
2. Find a group of spiritual companions:
Gael is a single man, in a world where the spiritual has frequent and hidden events. He needs allies and he needs protection. Who and what is out there that can do such is something he doesn’t know where to find. But he knows it exists. It has to. If people can group up for reasons like making money, surely those who desire spiritual power also do the same.
3. Learn all there is to know about the spiritual world:
Sort of in line with becoming strong. Gael needs to become smarter and far more knowledgeable than he currently is regarding all things spiritual. Where do hollows come from? Same for Shinigami. Why can hellions appear? What are hellions and how can he release the souls that hollows have consumed? All these questions are things he needs answers to sooner than later so he can start getting better about how to handle the spiritual world. And more importantly, how to fix any issues that show up on his doorstep.
Alignment:
Chaotic Good
Overall Personality:
To boil down Gael into his simplest version is to have a man who is more or less lost in the world at large. Spiritual and non-spiritual. He can’t be completely open about things regarding the spiritual because most around him are simply unaware and couldn’t become aware as far as he knows. The spiritual on the other hand has his mother’s knowledge as well as what he learned from his deceased father to help guide him. But both only go so far as one is simply an aware human and the other was a “quincy” but never got to fully teach him how everything worked. So. he’s sort of a man lost in between two worlds that he can’t really settle into because both have implications, he’s both unaware of and he can’t even completely commit to one given he knows of the other's existence/influence. So, he’s stuck between a rock and a hard place.
This is made worse by the fact that Gael has hopes, dreams, and even fears that drive him to engage in the spiritual in some capacity. Any capacity that he can do safely. Namely his desire to eradicate essentially a species of being that he deeply believes were never meant to exist. Between this loneliness and the grief, he still holds on to Gael has a lot going on in his head and isn’t always sure how to handle or manage it. But that doesn’t mean he focuses on it all the time, and thankfully Gael can split his mind and attention onto the more physical and present world around him. Working at his jobs as a bartender and an animal shelter as an assistant. And then his time at the gym and the fight clubs that are present. All things that help recenter and focus him so that he can do what he needs to when he needs to. And manage at least one life in some capacity.
And this brings us to how he tends to handle the day to day. In truth, Gael is always keeping his eyes and ears open. Actively hoping to pick up some scrap of information. Learn some small piece of information that allows him to make some progress in his life. Do something more than simply work, eat, workout, and sleep. And while most times he doesn’t find anything of note that doesn’t mean his observant tendencies don’t help him. It’s how he finds animals that need his help. It's how he’s able to call out others' lies when talking to them. It’s how he got his jobs even as being someone who keeps their ears close to the ground does feed him some level of information that is useful. And he’s hopeful it's how he’ll find more friends or people who can help him on the spiritual side of life.
In truth, while Gael is an uncertain individual with goals and hopes that seem out of reach, he’s a fairly down to earth gent. A great listener when needed and more than a helping hand when a problem exists. Assuming someone doesn’t give him a serious reason to distrust them, Gael is even pretty easy to gain trust from. A small talk with some honest conversation and you’re good to go. Beyond that it's just communicating and keeping up and you’ve got a steady and reliable friend. Which Gael is more than happy to be for most people and especially any animals he meets. Speaking of, let's be honest, Gael is an animal lover, but it just runs deeper than that for him. It’s like an entire extended family to him. All the animals around that he can interact with and watch or help out when possible. The man is the kind of person to go so far as to sit on a bench with breadcrumbs and watch the birds eat it. To be in awe at ants picking up leaves, dead creatures, etc. and take them back to their hill. Hell, he even just watches live lobster in their tanks. He’s so woefully fond of animals it could very well become a problem were he not good at managing himself and his time.

-Powers-
Fighting Style:
Gael, when he can actually utilize his powers, is a mounted combatant through and through. It’s not about fighting the enemy with his fists or weapons. It’s about using his bestial companion to its maximum capacity and ensuring that regardless of whatever happens the two can work together to overcome a problem. And in truth it bears a lot of weight given that Gael is going to be lacking a decent bit of ranged options. As he has concerns about his arrows and their “permanency” of an individual's demise, typically makes certain that he attacks and kills things without them. Trying his absolute damnedest to ensure someone is crippled or incapable of fighting long before they are dead. That is, assuming they aren’t an “Unnatural” which are a specific grouping of individuals that Gael is absolutely more than likely going to fight and be certain that killing them is the best answer.
Now as for where Gael specializes, its 100% melee range. Certainly, he could become more dexterous and actually invest in using more long ranged weapons but in truth, he’s never been about that kind of life. He prefers to have just a bit of distance by using bigger weapons that increase his available area to harm someone within but otherwise he still wants something he can grip in two hands and call it a day with. Maybe down the line considering sword and board if that’s even something he thinks could reliably do something for him. But again, let’s be fair, it was never about defense beyond what was strictly necessary for Gael. He’s through and through an offense first kinda guy. And using whatever trick, trade, or tool he’s got in his toolkit first.
Which leads us to one of the surprisingly most important parts of Gael’s fighting style. Studying. I shit you not, Gael, if the moon and stars align would be someone who has had prep time to make sure he’s got an answer to everything. Or more accurately he’d be like a Witcher. Where he has the right potion for the job. And that’s a genuinely important part of his fighting abilities is that he actively tries to learn about what he’s going up against, what to expect, and then determine on his own time how to handle things. What little details he can come up with or learn about prior to so he can actively exploit them. Just because Gael is a buff gym bro did not actively consume his ability to think tactically and critically before, during, and after a fight. As reflection is by and large one of the most valuable tools at his disposal.
Bow Release Overall Theme:
Gael's overall release can be boiled down to two words. Dark Knight. In both appearance and capability, Gael turns into a concerning figure cloaked in black armor with monsters at his beck and call. He is the being that learned the dark arts, to defend those who cannot fight against the dark. And that's shown in almost every facet of his bow release. Dark drab colors, monsters straight out of horror stories, powers that induce fear and other horror monster/villain effects. Gael is going to fight the dark, with the dark. And in the process continue down a darker path as his powers grow broader and begin to do more than simply empower and conjure imposing minions and instead make him into a monster.
Bow Release Properties:
Form Property (Arrow): Night Terror
Upon activating this property Gael gains the means to spawn a single creature, said creature is a steed for him. However, it is not a standard steed one would expect a Knight to get. This is a wyrm/bat monster. Standing 4 feet tall, with a wingspan of 8 feet, and a length of 7 feet. (3 feet of which is its tail. The beast as expected is blind as it has no eyes to speak of but instead has several openings on its snout for smell and has large ears to use echolocation with. This creature is friendly with Gael and will heed any commands given but they must be verbally given as it cannot see. The Night Terror is capable of what you’d expect. Flight, biting, slamming its tail into objects, and slashing with claws on its wings. It can at a maximum have two individuals riding it before it cannot fly, and it can have a maximum of 3 on while its speed is halved as it runs on the ground.
Night Terror Stat Block:
Strength: 50 (+50 per class above 6, 300 max)
Speed: 125 (+75 per class above 6, 500 max)
RS: 0
SPPR: 0 (Immune to cutback)
Instinct: 25 (+125 if power property is active)
Senses: 150 (for the purposes of hearing/smelling things)
ES: 0
HE: 0
Durability: Equal to Gael’s OS
Class: Equal to Gael’s current class
Drawbacks: Costs 300 reiatsu to summon. Nullifies Gael’s ability to create arrows while active with the exception of mass property. Has a 3-post duration. Will not do anything if Gael cannot speak out a command or isn’t saddled on it. Sound based attacks deal 1.5x durability damage as well as disorient it.
Firing Property: Blink of an Eye
When this property is activated Gael’s arrows and steeds gain the ability to be warped a short distance from their immediate location. There are two separate warping's that can be done. The first is towards Gael. So long as Gael is within 60 feet of his steeds or arrows, they will immediately be dispersed into miasma and move at 5x Gael’s speed towards him. If they are further than 60 feet away, the displacement still brings them closer but only up to the maximum distance. (60ft) The other aspect is warping any arrows or steeds from their current location 30 feet in another location. Where the previous displacement is focused on returning the arrows or steeds to Gael, this allows for Gael to effectively operate as a director for where the arrows/steed will move towards. With regards to arrows Gael can displace up to 5 arrows at a time.
Drawbacks: Displacing a set of arrows or his steed costs a use of his step counter for the post. Due to changing the arrows/steeds into a gaseous state shockwaves or wind abilities can make the dislocation ineffective. Causing their reappearance to be in whatever direction the wind or shockwave was going towards. Standard Firing Property cost. Displacing a steed, he is riding does not also dislocate Gael.
Power Property: Dark Blessing
While this property is active Gael’s steeds specifically gain significant boosts to their overall capabilities. The first and foremost are alterations to their stat blocks. The following stats get adjusted: Strength and Speed both increase by 50%, they gain ES equal to half Gael’s ES, and their durability increases by 50%. Furthermore, they gain the means to phase into and out of spiritual and physical matter. This gives them the ability to enter into spaces they normally could not fit into without worrying about getting stuck.
The phasing can also allow them to avoid attacks if the attacks are physical in nature and are half of Gael’s OS or less. Spiritual attacks are not affected. Additionally, Gael’s steeds can attempt to bypass spiritually reinforced or created barriers/defenses if they have equal strength and class to the barrier in question. This does allow Gael to phase through the barrier/defenses if he is riding either steed. The steeds also gain the means to become sentient, in a bestial manner. No high-level thought processes but an understanding of commands, ally's vs enemies, simplistic thinking, independent decision making, and reacting to the environment.
Lastly each steed gains the means to use breath attacks. Each steed can conjure breathes of acid that reach out 20 feet in diameter while going 60 feet out. These are free the first time they are used in a post with subsequent attacks being 100 reiatsu per use. The acid released uses Gael’s OS as its OS and lasts for 3 posts. Should this be on an individual, they will remain covered and get eaten away if they do not wash the acid off themselves.
Drawbacks: Costs 400 reiatsu to activate. After the initial breath attack, subsequent attacks cost 100 reiatsu. Simplistic levels of sentience (Think wild animals). Phasing only affects Gael if he is riding his steeds. Spiritual attacks bypass phasing ability while physical attacks can potentially bypass it if strong enough. Upon all steeds being destroyed this property shuts off and has a single post cooldown.
Mass Property: Manifested Malice
When this property is active Gael gains access to another steed however where his previous steed revolved around assisting in charges along with battlefield movement, this steed niche is based on raw wanton destruction. Conjuring up a creature that is 20 feet tall, 10 feet long before adding in a 4-foot tall and weighs at least a ton from what can only be assumed to be muscle, bone, and reiatsu. Malice, unlike Terror, has a thick hide allowing it to shrug off attacks that would otherwise attempt to harm it. This allows for all durability damage to be cut by 25% and also allows him to class clash. If he wins the clash, he reduces damage taken by an additional 25%, causing all damage to be halved. Worse yet, even when Malice is damaged, he spews black acidic ichor from his wounds causing anything that comes in contact with it to start being dissolved.
Also, unlike Terror, Malice has eyes and can see commands used with symbols or body language. It is however unable to operate on its own unless power property is active. As power property gives it sentience as shown with stats thrown into instinct and senses. As for attacks, Malice has about what you’d expect. Biting, clawing, punching, shockwaves, body slams, tail slams, etc. Malice has the following stat block:
Strength: 700
Speed: 300
RS: 0
SPPR: 0 (Immune to cutback)
Senses: 150 for the purpose of seeing/smelling/hearing things
Instinct: 25 (+150 when power property is active)
ES: 0
HE: 0
Durability: 2x Gael’s OS
Class: Equal to Gael’s class
Drawbacks: Costs 500 reiatsu, lasts 4 posts, and nullifies Gael’s ability to produce arrows with the exception of Form Property. Has a weakness to shock waves as they bypass his hide. Shockwaves induce full durability damage. Will actively attack whatever is near it, sans Gael, if he does not issue a command of some kind.
Heart Property: Dread Knight
Upon activating this property Gael gains a set of full plate armor that is class 2 and has a durability equal to 3x Gael’s OS. Standard Clash rules apply with one exception. If an attack is 2 classes or lower, it is not nullified but instead deals 10% of its OS as damage. While being worn Gael gains access to special properties from his previous properties. For example, he is able to displace himself as miasma and move 7x his speed to a point of his choosing at up to 50 feet away. He also gains acidic black blood as does any weapons he wields. The acidic blood’s OS is equal to Gael’s OS. He can also phase through matter spiritual and physical, with attacks following the same check if they are physical in nature.
Additionally, while Gael is mounted upon either steed he cannot be forcibly removed from his steed. Nor can his steeds be moved in a direction he doesn’t allow, and they can breathe in liquids so long as it's not inherently caustic. (Acid/magma/etc.). Verbal commands are no longer required while he wears armor as commands can be given telepathically.
Last but not least, Gael and his steeds gain a fear aura. So long as an individual is within 60 feet of Gael or one of his steeds, they make a SoW, LoF, or Calm Mind check against his Intimidation. If his Intimidation is higher than an opponent's SoW/Calm Mind/LoF they will find their bodies begin to betray them as fear settles into their muscles. Gradually slowing them down and reducing their efficiency in using reiatsu. Mechanically this is a 10% speed decrease as well as a 10% increased reiatsu cost. These stack every post until they reach 50% for speed and 100% for reiatsu costs. Should both the opponents and Gael be equal the check changes to OS vs OS. Gael can use his Strength stat for this clash. If the opponent succeeds in the skill check and OS clash, then they are unaffected by their fear. For LA and DA are at 100 if they have equal SoW/Calm Mind/LoF to Gael's Intimidation then they are immune. Neither aura assists in the OS clash. (While this does not have mechanical benefit, those who suffer under the fear effect start to see the world distort and cause both Gael and his steeds to become more and more grotesque/monstrous.)
Drawbacks: Costs 600 reiastu and lasts 5 posts. Will always take damage from attacks regardless of if clashes are won. Requires other properties to be active to gain additional benefits. Can still be hit by physical attacks with half his OS and spiritual attacks. Displacement shifts still cost one step post count. SoW and Calm Mind skills assist in skill checks. Debuffs grow so long as an individual is within Gaels fear aura. If they are not within it, the debuffs are reduced by 10% a post. Fear aura affects allies as does any acidic blood that is released.
Soul Property: Horde Commander
Upon activating this property Gael gains several supporting monster cavaliers. Depending on if he has Night Terror or Manifest Malice (or both) depends on what steeds are brought to his beck and call. All steeds come with riders and these riders look identical to Gael with the exception of being made of black gaseous miasma. These spectral riders cannot separate themselves from their steeds and they each have a mix between the steed’s base stats and Gaels. Essentially whichever stat is higher are the stats used for the stat block of the spectral cavalry. These cavaliers' number at 10 total and are each independent or can be commanded mentally by Gael. Durability is equal to 2x Gael’s OS.
If Gael’s Heart property is active each cavalier is considered to be a “steed” and thus has an aura effect. While Power property is active each cavalier gains the means to phase through physical attacks including those powered/reinforced by reiatsu but still clash as per the Power property. (Hundred fangs) Should Firing property be active Gael can shift and displace any cavalier up to 30 feet from their starting location.
Lastly Gael can utilize techniques through each cavalier, physical or spiritual. He must do this by “possessing” a cavalier. He can only possess one cavalier at a time and while doing it his body is unable to be moved leaving him at his steed's mercy. (Assuming Power property is active.) Reiatsu costs are increased by 50% and any stamina/physical drawbacks are reflected onto Gaels original body.
Drawbacks: 800 reiatsu and lasts for 5 posts. Additional abilities require certain properties to be active. Must have at least Form or Mass property active. Technique drawbacks are still transferred to Gael’s body. Reiatsu cost increased for techs used through other cavaliers. Has a 3-post cooldown after used. All cavaliers must remain within 120 feet of Gael’s body. If Power property isn’t active steeds aren’t effective at defending him. Effectively leaving him as a sitting duck. Firing Property's displacements still count against per post Step techs possible.
Additional Tools or Techniques:
Technique Name: Viele Waffen (Many Weapons)
Technique Class: Variable - Class 8 - 1
Technique Type: Spiritual / Ginto
Usable By: Quincy
Technique Element: Reiatsu
Description: Viele Waffen is a simple technique to be learned by almost any and every fledgling quincy. It takes a ginto tube and allows the quincy to reshape the liquid reiatsu inside it into a weapon. Sparing the tube for later use far as refilling is concerned. As for what weapons can be conjured from the liquid reiatsu it depends on the class used. No ranged weapons, sans throwable weapons like a javelin, can be created using this technique until class 5. So long as it's melee and within 6 feet length and 1 foot in width you can make it. Axes, Polearms, Spears, Swords, etc. You name it, it's yours. It should be noted that larger melee weapons can be created so long as an additional ginto tube is used. This will allow for a maximum of 10 feet long and 3 feet thick.
Upon class 5 being reached the user can create ranged weapons of their choice. Upon using this technique the ranged weapon creates 10 pieces of ammunition to go along with the ranged weapon. Ranged weapons cannot be explosive in nature but can be large so long as the weapon fits within the size limitations. Ranged weapons also do not gain the curving or explosive features of quincy arrows. The range of all ranged weapons created is 120 feet after which the reiatsu evaporates. The ammunition along with the weapon all have the same duration. The speed of these weapons attacks are 300 at class 8-5, 450 at class 4-3, 600 at class 2 and 1.
There’s also a unique aspect to this technique that makes it particularly useful for those of the non-spiritual variety. The OS for this weapon can be static depending on how many additional ginto are used. Where creating a single weapon has a reiatsu cost and the tube’s liquid reiatsu alone while giving the user’s RS as the weapons OS, an additional ginto tube can be used to allow for a static 100 OS to be the weapons OS. Regardless of the user’s RS. Additionally at higher levels this static OS can go up by 100 for an additional ginto tube. Allowing for higher levels to still be beneficial to physical quincy even while their peers create weapons of greater power for cheaper.
How to Use:
Simply flood the ginto tube(s) with your reiatsu and will the weapon in mind to form. Make sure to have an image in your head about the exact kind of weapon you want as it cannot be changed once made.
Drawbacks:
Costs 50 reiatsu at class 8 and increases in reiatsu cost by 50 for every 2 classes above class 7. Maxing out at 200 reiatsu at class 1. To gain static OS ginto tubes of equivalent or greater level to the technique’s class must be used. I.E. to get 200 OS at class 7 you need two class 7 additional ginto tubes. Whereas at class 1 you need an additional 8 class 1 ginto tubes to gain 800 static OS.
All weapons have a post duration. 8-5 is 3 posts. 4-3 is 4 posts. And 2-1 is 5 posts. Durability is equal to the OS used. Static or RS depending on what the user decides to do. Can be both spiritually and physically flexed away if opponents' stats are high enough to do so.
TTP costs are staggered and increasing. Initial TTP cost is class 8 and allows access to class 5 assuming the quincy has the class to use it. Proficient TTP cost is class 4 and allows access to class 3 assuming the user is the appropriate class. Mastered TTP cost is class 2 and allows complete access to technique. Ranged weapons are locked from the user until class 5. Range limited to 120 feet. No explosive weapons can be created. Limited amount of ammunition.

Birthplace: New York City, New York

Memorable Figures:
Father - George Hendrickson
Brother - Mathew Hendrickson
Mother - Abigail Hendrickson
Unknown Bount - A mysterious figure whose name is currently unknown, but their appearance is forever etched into Gael’s mind for having killed both his father and brother before him.
History:
Gael's past is something of a "common tale" all things considered. With regards to his childhood, he was born into the Hendrickson family. A free quincy family that had long ago split off from the Emperor or perhaps even reaches back prior to the Emperor's existence. The details are muddy, and the family lineage tree book isn't exactly clear. Regardless despite having a "clan" in name his family were more or less isolated from other quincies and thus he could only learn about them through his father George Hendrickson. In the family George was the quincy whereas his mother was simply a spiritually aware human. Perhaps she was a quincy but due to never being able to conjure a bow the details cannot be known. Being born in New York City his life was busy. All the time. In truth, were he not sleeping, something was always going on that involved him. Brought to part time or local jobs by his mother since daycare wasn't available until he could attend public school alongside his older brother Mathew. Then school as he grew up, and eventually attempting college and a job of his own. Busy and always moving.
Up until his early teens Gael could honestly admit to having a good life. Sure, money was sometimes stretched. And without a doubt he had bad days or worse his family had bad days. But he still had a place to sleep, food to eat, clothes to wear, and his family did care at the end of the day. And better yet, he was beginning to learn about the spiritual world from his father. Between formal instruction, reading from dated documents, and watching his brother's hands on instruction / training he was quick to pick up the knowledge side of the spiritual world. What a soul cycle was, how hollows weren't breaks from it. How shinigami managed it, the concept of a "Soul King", things of that nature. All this and more but he was never given a chance to start training with his reiatsu let alone able to conjure a bow due to the sudden passing of his father and brother.
When Gael was 13, the last day he'd find himself able to speak with his brother and father was when they were preparing to go out for training again. Gael was expected to watch and ask any questions he had while his brother and father worked together to see if his sibling couldn't control his bow further. They were interrupted by a knock on the door. A strange occurrence given it had been mid-day and both sons were taken out of school not but half an hour earlier. George having suspicions about what could have been on the other side rightfully assumed something was amiss and quickly hid Gael within a hidden door to the walls of the apartment. He locked it and had told him to remain quiet until everything was done. Meanwhile his elder sibling was more or less told to hide in the room and defend himself if needed. At first all seemed well despite the silence and ominous nature of this sudden meeting. Then the sounds of fighting began. The light ringing of reiatsu being formed, the sound of glass and wood breaking, the vibrations through the floor that signaled intense movement. And then the sudden thud on the floor and the eerie silence that followed.
For about a moment Gael truly thought his dad had taken care of whatever decided to fight him. He was proven wrong when his dad's bloody corpse was thrown through the door and into the room. His sibling tried to fire off several arrows but let fear get the better of him and hesitated. The man cloaked in shadows, with blood on his face and chest turned and shattered the bow into fragments. Then subsequently impaled his sibling through the stomach before leaning in and drinking him until nothing remained. Gael froze. Fear setting into his bones, blood, and soul. He couldn't move, couldn't breathe. And ultimately that fear, is what saved him as the creature of shadow immediately went to attack his father again and began drinking him dry. Only to then pull a stunt that made the room freeze over in chill from fear and despair. The figures hands glowed a sinister red, then stabbed into the bodies of each person and ripped out their souls.
While his brother's soul wailed and screamed and tried to do anything and everything it could to escape his father simply glared at it. The few words he spoke would be cut off as the being would proceed to send red streaks of energy through their body, breaking apart their soul and absorbing it into them. Those words ended up revealing that this was a bount. Monster of the night and a destroyer of souls Insults were flung but nothing stopped the bount from consuming their souls outright. The last moment before both souls shattered outright was a plea for help from his brother and his dad's apology to Gael and his mother. The room went quiet as the bount savored their soul's taste and victory. Only to glance towards the space Gael was hiding and staring at it. Almost as if it had known the entire time he was hidden within. It simply smiled and left the room, heading out from the apartment, and going to god knows where else. It would be a couple hours before his mother came home, and he was able to leave his hiding place. But it was already too late, the fear, the anger, the despair, and most importantly the grief had already latched itself into his soul. Nothing in this world or the next would change it.
The remainder of his childhood was like living a lie. A blink that happened so fast that he had to wonder if what he'd seen had actually ever happened. And yet the world moved on. Day after day. Moment by moment. Documents detailing the events he saw, therapy sessions attempting to break down the trauma into manageable parts (without the minds "coping mechanisms" for the magical details.), and even a household move. Yet until Gael's 20's it never felt real. Nothing felt like important or even related. The world functionally died that day for him and his mother. It's for this reason that Gael eventually took an opportunity to leave the country as a whole. While they were in New York, he attended university and actively sought out any exchange program he could afford and get his hands on. While it left his college life busy and disjointed it gave him the means to be away from simply everything. This ultimately helped him get to a point that by the time his college life ended, and he had his degree he was back to being functional again. One look at his mother was all he needed to know she knew that he still wasn't ok. But since when was death of a family member ever? Especially when it was a murder you witnessed?
Thus, Gael continued to distance himself from New York and eventually the United States as a whole. He just couldn't live there. Wouldn't live there. And thankfully managed to get a job for a Japanese construction company and was able to start successfully adjusting to a whole other world. Life then slowed down, eased up, and started to create a new routine. He had enough money to live, he had the means to visit his mom or bring her to him. He slowly but surely got friends and rebuilt something that could be considered normal. Almost even going so far as to forget that the spiritual world as a whole existed. But he never completely. He could see, hear, feel the hollows around. Find robed men watching him and the masses if he was paying attention. See twisted creatures he could only describe as hellish wandering from place to place. Though he'd left his home and tried to leave the spiritual world, it never left him. And now he was starting to get more involved by simply paying attention. As time went on, he eventually left his job at the construction company having made and saved enough money to really let him just be for a while. Give him time to think on how to handle what he wanted to do with the spiritual world. And consider if it was even worth getting involved.
It took several months but eventually having seen one too many hollow attacks and being too close for comfort to fights between robed individuals and humans, hollows, and much more it became clear that while he'd been lucky to avoid everything that this was coming to a close. He needed to train himself on the spiritual world. He needed to hone his body, mind, and soul if he even hoped to stand a chance. And for that he needed his father's books, his mother's experiences, and a place that was going to have spiritual activity. Thus, he moved to Karakura and quickly found work and a residence in an area that wasn't as frequently destroyed. And since then, he's kept his eyes and ears open with the goal of finding spiritual activity and logging it down. Jotting what he sees, hears, feels and learning from it. Compiling everything he could get his hands on while doing what he could with training. Mainly finding success in his body as opposed to his soul but the books spoke of work arounds and thus, he continued his self-mediated training. Thus, brings us to Gael's current life in Karakura where he is functionally working at his part time jobs, training at the gym, studying the books he inherited, and cataloguing everything he can find in this clearly spiritually active city. All in the hope that something finally clicks so that he can become capable of defending himself as well as intervene when necessary.
