Raphael rose his hand, slowly, as it rested over the cross that had once belonnged to his brother, any feeling of quincy power having long since died. There was nothing more to it that any of the Vandenreich wold've been able to feel of it, much less understand. Realistically, Raphael didn't flly understand himself; the sheer amount of insanity that went into what had happened. He'd learned of what lay inside of him. He'd learned that what he'd thought had been his power, it's form, was nowhere near the truth nor was it even correct. Worse, now that he did understand, he had to completely remake his fullbring. Or perhaps it was more accurate to say that it needed to be reborn.
It was far too difficult for him to puzzle out, he wasn't entirely sure what to expect, either. He didn't was beginning to wonder if he'd be suddenly hearing the two in his head but, in so far as yet, that hadn't happened. He wasn't sad for that, but also was beginning to become concerned if that wold happen, when his fullbring was reborn. If he started hearing voices in his head, well, even if he did then at the very least, he'd know that they were part of himself and not some random voice that he was suddenly hearing. But he still didn't know quite what to make of it all. He'd probably slap Jennifer, if she was still around. As it stood, he still wanted to punch Brian.
Matter of fact, he wanted to hit most people from the Vandenreich in the face, he didn't really care who it was. Hell, he'd consider it bnus points, if it was the emperor himself. That would be a wonderful bit of nostalgia. And yet he couldn't help but lightly touch the necklace. He pulled out his wallet and started to go through for yen, trying to find how much he had, so he could try and get himself a hot dog. He coldn't help but imagine how wonderful it was going to be such a wonderful time and, ironically, there was one such place that did sell hot dogs. And the best part abot the day? So far there were no hollows!
So far it had been hollows, shinigami, other fllbrings... and... he knew that he'd run into a bount, but he couldn't remember if he'd run into any quincy. None from the vandenreich, thankfully, and hedidn't want to, if he could help it. They were the biggest threat to the existence, from what he understood. Almost made him wonder why the many different groups just didn't come together and fight the Vandenreich as one. But everytime that thought struck him, he tried to imagine shinigami and arrancar fighting alongside one another, actually fighting together, and couldn't help but laugh. That was a laughable notion, at the very best, and horrifying to thin of, at worst.
He wondered how Brian was doing, and if he'd told anyone of his shame of being defeated and having his cross taken. If he ever heard from the man again, Raphael had decided that he would kill his brother.
The subway was crowded as always, and he had a few stops left to go before he was bac in Karakura Town, so that he could get his hot dog. Then, afterwards, he could head back into the office and see how the analysis of the hollow mask was going. He'd not gotten any emails about it, and so he wasn't sure if they'd simply stopped working on it or if something else had happened. He was, admittedly, worried that without Kazura around that the budget was simply being moved to other projects, or that investors were pulling their support entirely.
Checking his phone again, he grumbled in annoyance, while reading an email.
"Dear Raphael,
We regret to inform you, but your requested project has been rejected as the budget for it is simply not available. Please pick up your research materials from the laboratory at your earliest convenience."
He sighed and slowly put his phone into his pocket. There was so much going wrong, lately, and a lot of it was just from people being gone, or vanishing. He still had no idea as to Luca's whereabouts. One day he'd find out... And then, there it was, the restaurant he could get a hot dog at, one of the few plaeces that had any good ones. There were others but this place had the good dogs, almost like ones that someone cold get in the states. That was the only thing that Raphael really missed about the US anyways. He was looking forward to his hot dog...
