Whatever hardened exterior Hikari had that intimidated Blair seemed to melt away relatively quickly, giving her more of a feeling of ease. She was no longer a stranger, so the discomfort Blair originally had wasn't much of a problem anymore. While she knew this was something she needed to work on, she hoped it wouldn't take very long to grow out of the awkwardness. It was quite debilitating in its own ways. When it becomes complicated enough to order your own food, you start to doubt your capabilities as a person in general. It wasn't great. She wished she could be more confident in herself, but experienced like these were a challenge. She had to open up.
Luckily, it seemed what effort she did put in paid off quite well. After some reassuring exchanges, Hikari wrote her number on a small note and handed it to Blair. She couldn't help but show the surprise on her face, especially given that she didn't expect to ever really be seen as someone who others genuinely wanted to talk to, but again, that was the insecurity speaking. She hoped that, at least some time one day, she'd be able to do some good for the world. Somehow. She may not know how right away, but she was willing to try. She wanted to be reliable, and perhaps be a good friend to Hikari if she were so willing to accept that from Blair.
"Wow, I appreciate this! I may take you up on that." She gently took the piece of paper from the girl's hand and put it away in her purse. "I know there's something inside of me that wants to come out because it has before when I was young. I just need to find it again. So thank you, and I absolutely will reach out!"
With a wave and a kind goodbye, Blair stood up and walked herself out of the coffee shop. Extending her senses a little bit, she soon realized that she wasn't aware of exactly how many people were spiritually aware in the world. It wasn't the majority, but it was way more than she could have ever expected. This encounter may have been some sort of fateful thing that she was meant to do, so whatever went through her mind that drew her to this place was being extremely good to her right now. Clutching her purse, she glanced down and eyed the piece of paper with a number written on it, considering what options she'd have next. Maybe she'd reach out sooner rather than later.
