Kazuhiko's attack went off without a hitch! But to his surprise, his intended target escaped. Whether through cunning or sheer luck, Kitai seemed to slip through the floor. The Beast King's Bite struck harmlessly against a wall, dispersing like a gust of cold wind some twenty meters behind the strange invader. The way Kazuhiko's sixth sense worked left him completely blind to how Kitai had managed to disappear, and worse, where he went!
Instinctually he opened his eyes, once again subjecting himself to the sickly sweet effects of the root beer float! "GAH!" His cry of surprise sounded like someone trying to scream underwater as the bubbles infiltrated his mouth and throat! His vision was blurred and offered no information at all! Damnit!
He began to analyze the situation... He had to think and act quickly! So many were in danger! Just- And before he could come up with anything at all he heard her voice. A tone as harsh as his sisters. And with words just as vulgar. "Kami-chan?" He asked, still gargling the disappointingly pleasant taste of his soda-pop prison. A moment later he was free, suspended in the air by her grasp. Or rather... By a marshmallow that was attached to her right hand? No doubt another of these strange invaders prank weapons.
"Kami-chan!" He said again, as he confirmed her identity. He was more than happy to see her! They'd fought side by side before and she had been a powerful ally! With her here the odds might have tilted in their favor- Except... "K-Kami-chan! You're hurt!" He finally acknowledged. She was wounded. And her complexion was pale... She was exhausted. Battleworn. Their fight with the beasts out front had not left them unwounded. "Damnit!" He bit his lip in frustration.
Free of the devilishly delicious effects of the root beer he was able to plan in earnest. Akira and Benjiro were going to take care of evacuating the students. Good. But just then the Invader let loose a beam of... Void? It narrowly missed Benjiro and instead opened up a hole in the academy that allowed everyone in the room to see exactly what Kitai could. A blazing inferno. 'The Captain Commander!' The thought occurred to Kazuhiko and inspired confidence. If he was responding then everything would be okay. There was no one stronger than him in all of Soul Society. At least as far as Kazuhiko was concerned.
And Kitai seemed to acknowledge it as well. The invader was trying to escape. Could they even stop him? Kami was wounded... More fighting would potentially endanger her life. He was confident she would eagerly put herself in that position... As would his sister, Fuuko. Iroka seemed healthy enough... But he'd also seen what that man's beam had done to the wall. It seemed effortless. And had he not missed Benjiro would be without a head. And he wasn't confident that he could do anything about it.
He bit his lip and clenched his left hand until it hurt. There was only one thing he could think of that would prevent further loss of life. More fighting would put more of the Academy's structure at risk. And through all of their efforts, they'd hardly done any damage to the enemy in front of them. He'd made it clear just how much stronger he was than them. They could fight against that certainty... But to do so would imperil everyone in the academy.
"Yonbontai, stand down!" He gave the order with as much confidence as one could while being suspended from a marshmallow. But inside his heart, he was trembling. Shaken from the frustration of having to relent to this chaotic entity's escape plan.
