-Appearance-
Height/Weight: 7 feet and 3 inches, 255 pounds
Physical Description: Benjiro is a towering figure, standing at a height of seven foot three. He has a bulky and well-built frame that exudes strength and power. Despite his intimidating appearance, his face is characterized by a soft expression and gentle eyebrows, giving him a sense of serenity. The most striking feature on his face are his irisless eyes, which adds to the mysterious allure of his appearance. His hair is short yet spiky, a dark brown color that stands out against his pale skin. A unique horizontal scar across his forehead adds an element of danger and intensity to his appearance.
His outfit is a traditional black kimono, which is typical of Shinigami. However, Benjiro adds his own flair with a green haori that has a prayer inscribed on it. The haori falls open to reveal the black kimono, adding a touch of color and personality to his otherwise somber attire. The prayer inscribed on the haori is only seen by people who are close to him, adding a sense of mystery and secrecy to his character. The ensemble exudes a sense of tradition, devotion and personal touch.
Face claim is Gyomei Himejime from Demon Slayer.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Personality-
Dislikes:
- Conflict - Benjiro absolutely hates conflict, whether they are interpersonal or societal, violent or argumentative. He is not the type to avoid conflict, but rather the type to exhaust every other option before resorting to it. This ties directly into his overall patience and open-mindedness to resolve issues before they lead into fights. However, he is not afraid of getting into fights and would often be willing to sacrifice his own wellbeing for the sake of others.
- Malice - Benjiro's distaste towards malice is one born out of frustration. He believes that every individual, regardless of race, has the potential to do good and bad, to heal or to harm, so the idea of being malicious or purposefully being hateful towards something or someone is inevitably pointless to him. Placing malicious intent on a group or an individual inevitably burns down any chance of those same people coming back around and doing something good.
- Nihilism - Benjiro does not believe in the concept of Nihilism, as someone of faith and someone who believes that everyone needs faith. He understands that faith is not tied to religion inherently, but that it is the inherent belief in something. Whether that is a belief of the sciences, of the heavens, of oneself, of the arts, of anything, he believes it is essential to the experience of existence. To him, Nihilism spits in the face of his beliefs by declaring that nothing is important and there is no meaning to anything.
- Absolute Morality - This is a point of contention for Benjiro, as he is someone who personally believes and aligns himself to what he believes is good. However, therein lies the turmoil of this moral dilemma. He aligns himself with what he believes to be good, that being the protection of others and the survival of the Seireitei, but he also understands that morality is subjective. What others believe to be good could be considered evil by those of opposing factions, or even those within the same groups could have differing opinions on the morality of more nuanced topics. The ideology of an Absolute Morality portrays one's own actions towards their perception of good above another's actions that they perceive as evil, creating discrimination and breeding conflict. As such, Benjiro tries his best to understand each and every individual he comes across, though he also acts upon his own morality.
- Bitter Food - This distaste is quite literally about the taste. Benjiro wouldn't say he had a sensitive palette, but his bodily disagreement with bitter foods would proclaim otherwise. This dislike is so deep that it actually causes him to gag and shiver whenever he tastes something bitter. His most hated food, due to this fact, is grapefruit.
- Cardio - From his living days to his days in the Soul Society, Benjiro has hated cardio. He loves the idea of it, as well as the benefits that accompany it, but for the life of him, he just cannot handle it. Despite being relatively fit and active, his stamina and endurance does not allow him to fully commit to long-term cardio.
Likes:
- Peaceful Resolution - Benjiro is an advocate for peaceful resolutions above all else. If he can talk it out instead of fighting, then he will, regardless of who it is with. If he can manage to diffuse a situation before conflict arises, his whole day is made, as if reaffirming his beliefs that peace can be reached with enough effort.
- Sweet Food - Honestly, Benjiro has a bit of a sweet tooth. His favorite sweet of all is a good old fashioned milk chocolate bar. It's a little childish but he would proclaim that chocolate can always be used to keep the peace in a heated argument.
- Preservation of Life - Above all, Benjiro cares about life. He cares about the preservation and continuation of existence of every being, regardless of where they're from, who they are, and what they have done. In his eyes, no evil is worth killing over.
- Meditation - There have been times where Benjiro's faith had been questioned, when he felt as if the path to peace was not within reach, but through deep thought and meditation, he always seems to find a way. Meditation allows him to recenter his mind and remind himself of his commitment. He uses meditation to reflect, introspect, and affect change in his life.
- Self-improvement - The path to peace is one paved with misery and strife, and the only way to keep on the path is to endure and ready oneself for the ever-growing burdens that come. This is where self-improvement comes in, the endless journey of growth, change, and reassessment. Benjiro loves the feeling of growing, both as a Shinigami and as an individual. He believes that, through life and experiences, as more context is introduced, one must grow to adapt and change, becoming more nuanced and understanding as a whole.
- Music - Benjiro has a bit of a guilty pleasure that he doesn't like to share. He's a big fan of music, which in and of itself isn't bad, but for some reason he's embarrassed about it. He treats his love for music as a secret that only he can know, and he enjoys it as his little way to get away and enjoy his alone time.
Flaws:
- Easily Tired - Benjiro gets tuckered out quite easily, even if he theoretically could continue pushing himself. He feels the effects of exhaustion long before he is physically exhausted. This is why he hates cardio so much, and also why he is majorly averse to running and routine exercises.
- Averse to Violence - Due to his love of peace-keeping, Benjiro refuses to fight unless it's a last resort. In his future line of work, conflict is an inevitability, especially to defend the lives of those in the Seireitei. This makes him hesitate in times of battle, even in the most dire of circumstances, and even when he does fight, he stays on the defensive as much as physically possible.
- Passive - Benjiro is passive in most areas of life, tending to be a bit of a pushover in a lot of aspects. Aside from orders of direct conflict and violence, Benjiro would gladly take any chore, punishment, consequence, or favor regardless of the toll it would take on his body, mind, and spirit, with nary a complaint or issue. Due to this, it seems as if he lacks ambition and prioritizes others much more than himself. He can easily be taken advantage of and walked on like a doormat.
- Self-sacrificial - Benjiro is one who would sacrifice his own wants and needs for the benefit of others, or at the very least to prevent them from being harmed. He would often be the one to take the consequences of other's actions in order to protect them from harm. He puts his own desires to rest in order for the general good of those around him, even if he is suffering.
Habits:
- Prayer before trials - Benjiro is a religious man, and as such, he finds inner strength and determination through acts of faith and devotion. Every instance that he is faced with a trial or a challenge, whether it is something as mundane as opening a pickle jar or as vital as battling a hollow, he would say a prayer in his mind, asking for guidance, strength, and endurance to withstand everything that may come his way.
- Deep bows - Benjiro is a very tall man, and he had always been tall, even in his life. When he was young, learning about etiquette and bowing in particular, he learned that a deep bow shows respect for another individual, and the deeper, the more respect. As a caring and empathetic individual, he always liked to bow as deep as he could, which eventually gave him a unique quirk in every greeting. To this day, he greets people by bowing unnaturally low, almost as if he is folding his body in half to show respect, and this often backfires into someone thinking that he is mocking them and the tradition of the bow.
- Cracking the neck - Benjiro often cracks his neck as soon as he finishes any type of physical exertion. As if it was almost an afterthought, he cracks his neck both ways as a way to release tension. Unfortunately, this habit has led to a lot of built up neck pain due to his excessive cracking, which causes him to want to crack it some more, making a loop of causing and soothing tension in the neck.
Fears:
- Giving in to anger - Benjiro, despite all of his ideals and his beliefs, is still a person that is subject to his emotions. One of these emotions is anger, and Benjiro personally believes that anger inevitably led to conflict. That is why one of his greatest fears is to give in to his anger and actively want to and commit to hurting another being, especially to the point that he cannot atone and ask for forgiveness.
- Losing those he loves - Benjiro is very protective of those he cherishes, whether it be friends, family, romantic relations, peers, and mentors. The thought of losing anyone that he could have protected is devastating for him. Even seeing them in pain is enough to hurt him, so actually losing them is like a knife through the heart.
- Being too passive - This is possibly Benjiro's greatest fear, as his proclivity towards passivity could lead to non-action. Through this non-action, lives would be lost, battles would be fought, and suffering would spread amongst everyone. Worst of all, it could have been hindered or even stopped if he had just decided to act. If this were to ever come true, Benjiro would face an utter loss of faith in his ideology and experience a shattering of his world view and life choices.
Goals:
- Settle the differences between the races - There is tension between the races that commonly breaks out into conflict, strife, and harm that the Shinigami ultimately take part in for the defense of the Seireitei and the humans alike. However, Benjiro believes that there may be an underlying cause of all this strife, and if he could trace the conflict to its roots, perhaps he may be able to mend it and end the struggle once and for all.
- Influence other Shinigami and promote change - Benjiro has faith in the Shinigami and trusts that, in time, they may change to see his side of things. As such, he'd like to be able to reach out and share his beliefs to any who could listen, and he understands that authority also comes with influence. This is his main motivator in rising through the ranks as a Shinigami, to promote a more peaceful corps that fights as a last resort and resolves problems first and foremost.
- Serve the Seireitei to the best of his ability - Benjiro takes pride in helping others, and once he becomes a Shinigami, he can do that by serving the Seireitei. It is only natural to give his best at all times, and through time and growth, he will only give more and more to his duty.
Alignment: Passive Good
Overall Personality: Benjiro is a gentle and humble person, who moves with a dainty grace despite his large size. He speaks in a soft tone and never raises his voice, exuding a calm and peaceful energy. He is always polite and courteous, treating others with respect and kindness. Despite his intimidating appearance, he feels as if he is much smaller and meeker than he actually is, often downplaying his own abilities and accomplishments.
In most situations, Benjiro is cautious and avoids impulsivity and emotional reactions. He likes to understand the causes of things before acting upon them and tries to diffuse situations as much as possible, preventing conflict whenever possible. However, if conflict cannot be avoided, he does his best to minimize harm and takes on the consequences of his actions himself. In combat, he is stalwart in defending and putting himself in harm's way, but he hesitates when it comes to hurting others.
Benjiro is deeply religious, and his beliefs are rooted in Buddhism. He is dedicated to self-improvement and the pursuit of enlightenment, and offers everything he does to this goal. He believes that enlightenment coincides with a life of strife and sacrifice for the betterment and protection of others. He is committed to his ideals and desires to make the world a better place through peace and understanding.
Despite his strong convictions, Benjiro struggles with doubt and inner turmoil. He understands that his ideals are hard to achieve and maintain, and that it is impossible to live a life without conflict or change the world to be without conflict. He worries about faltering or losing his ideals, as it would render all his sacrifices pointless. He questions himself frequently about his rationality and his dedication towards peace, but ultimately he is determined to continue on his path.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Powers-
Fighting Style: Benjiro's fighting style is heavily focused on defensive sword techniques, using his Zanpakuto primarily as a tool for blocking and parrying. His large size and well-built frame give him an advantage in this aspect, allowing him to use his sword and body to shield allies and deflect attacks. He is quick to put himself at physical risk to prevent others from being damaged, taking the pain in stride and using it as a means to protect others. In addition to his sword techniques, he also bolsters his defenses with the use of defensive Kido.
While Benjiro's primary focus is on defense, he is also capable of using his Zanpakuto for offensive purposes. However, his movements are basic sword strokes that are designed to incapacitate rather than gravely injure his opponents. He will only use his sword to attack as a last resort, and only if there is no other option to end the fight.
Instead, Benjiro's main method of offense is through the use of Kido. He is proficient in a variety of Kido, including binding and immobilization, which he uses to restrict his opponents' movements and gain an advantage in battle. He prefers to use his Kido in combination with his Zanpakuto techniques, creating a well-rounded and versatile fighting style that allows him to adapt to any situation. His main rationale in a fight is to de-escalate the situation and to put an end to combat as fast as possible to minimize damage.
Zanpakuto Spirit Appearance(Optional):
Futan Juzemasu is a mentor-like spirit who is first introduced as a friendly and amicable figure. He is portrayed as wise and well-traveled, as if he has achieved Nirvana and enlightenment. He serves as a guide to Benjiro on his own journey to reaching Nirvana, but he never gives straight answers. Instead, he poses questions and riddles that fuel the doubt within Benjiro's heart, allowing him to reform his ideals and learn to grow and change. He is the type of person who is always willing to offer advice, but he never tells Benjiro what to do, instead he encourages him to find his own path.
As Benjiro's journey continues, he will meet a different version of Futan Juzemasu, once he has made major growth and change in his ideology and awakens his Bankai. This version of Futan Juzemasu is impulsive and boisterous, shedding the detached wisdom for a more relatable and upbeat understanding of the world. Despite this change, he has not lost his wisdom, but rather shows that through his wisdom and understanding, he has grown to trust his instincts in doing good. He is depicted as a simple and pure person, his enlightenment is shown through his behavior and actions. He acts as a reminder for Benjiro that wisdom and enlightenment can be found in simplicity, and that it is through understanding and growth that one can truly trust their own instincts yet remain moral and forthright.
Inner World(Optional):
Benjiro's inner world is a breathtaking field, a place where nature's beauty is at its most raw and pure. The grass is lush and vibrant, a deep green that seems to go on forever. The breeze is gentle and soothing, carrying the sweet scent of wildflowers and the soft rustling of leaves. The sun shines down, casting a warm golden light on the field, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The sky is a deep blue, with fluffy white clouds lazily drifting by. The whole scene is surrounded by the soft hues of the sunset, giving a sense of warmth and serenity.
In the center of this idyllic field, lies a single tree, a gargantuan tree that towers over the entire field. Its bark is rough and dark, the leaves are a deep green that rustle in the wind, its branches stretching out in a way that it seems to embrace the world. The tree serves as a symbol of strength and stability, representing the foundation of Benjiro's soul. It's trunk is so wide that it would take multiple people to encircle it, and the roots that spread out from it are as thick as a grown man. The tree is a monument to the power of nature, and it's presence is both humbling and inspiring.
This world within Benjiro's soul is a sanctuary for him, a place where he can find peace and clarity in the midst of chaos and turmoil. It is a reflection of his innermost self, a place where he can reconnect with his true self and find the strength to overcome any challenges. The field is a reminder of the beauty that can be found in the simplicity of life. This inner world is a reflection of Benjiro's ideals, his beliefs and his journey towards enlightenment and serves as a source of guidance and inspiration for him as he navigates through the struggles of the world.
Zanpakuto Appearances:
- Sealed - Futan Juzemasu in its sealed state is in the form of the standard katana that most Zanpakuto take, although it is slightly longer due to his height. Instead of the standard 27 inch blade, Futan Juzemasu is a 33 inch blade. Aside from that, the stingray hilt of the sword has an attachment at the end of it, this attachment is a set of brown prayer beads that extend up Benjiro's hand and wrap around his wrist, ensuring that a part of him is always in contact with his Zanpakuto.
- Shikai - In the Shikai release of Futan Juzemasu, the katana completely disappears and is instead replaced by dozens of prayer beads that wrap around Benjiro's body. These beads are larger, about the size of an apple per bead, with the color of one as well. The prayer beads wrap around his wrist and up his arm, around his neck, then extend down the other arm before wrapping around his waist.
- Bankai - Futan Juzemasu's Bankai, or rather Honkaijōju Futan Juzemasu, has a rather unique appearance and manifestation. The beads that surrounded his body shatter as his ideal inner world is brought out externally. Honkaijōju Futan Juzemasu takes the form of the giant tree that serves as the epicenter and anchor of its ability. Benjiro is seen at the base of the tree and meditates.
Zanpakuto Release Names(Include both Shikai and Bankai names, and call out phrases):
- Shikai - "May all beings plagued with suffering be freed, Futan Juzemasu!"
- Bankai - "Behold the splendor of Nirvana, Honkaijōju Futan Juzemasu!"
Overall Ability: In its sealed state, Benjiro's Zanpakuto mainly serves as a defensive tool that is used to prevent suffering and damage. This is portrayed when Benjiro uses it to defend, preferring to keep the blade sheathed. When his Zanpakuto is in its sheath, it reinforces itself with reiatsu, creating a barrier that can better defend against attacks, reflecting and absorbing the energy. This makes it an extremely powerful defensive tool that can protect both him and his allies from harm.
However, when his Zanpakuto is unsheathed, it expels the reiatsu and weakens, making it harder to injure others with the blade. This is due to the nature of Benjiro's fighting style, which emphasizes on minimizing harm and avoiding hurting others. He only unsheathes his Zanpakuto as a last resort, and when he does, he uses it to incapacitate rather than kill. The weakening of the blade serves as a reminder of the importance of minimizing harm and the consequences of his actions.
This explains the overall ability of Futan Juzemasu, minimizing harm and preventing the consequences of actions.
Shikai Overall Ability: The ability of Benjiro's Shikai, named Futan Juzemasu, allows him to control the reiatsu within an area around him, allowing him to manipulate it to absorb all abilities used within the area at the expense of redirecting and expelling it onto himself instead. This means that any attack within the area of Benjiro's control harms him instead, but simultaneously any healing or any other effect would be placed upon his body instead of on the others. This ability represents Benjiro's drive to take the consequences of everyone's actions upon himself, both good and bad, as a means to fulfill his duty of protecting and serving others.
The ability emphasizes on Benjiro's religious beliefs and his dedication to self-improvement and the pursuit of enlightenment, through his contant undertaking of suffering. It serves as a reminder of the importance of sacrifice and the consequences of one's actions, further reinforcing Benjiro's ideals of peace and the arduous journey towards understanding. This ability not only allows Benjiro to protect others but also helps him to de-escalate the battle and bring it to a stop. The area within Futan Juzemasu's control is a 60 foot diameter around Benjiro.
Bankai Overall Ability: Benjiro's Bankai, Honkaijōju Futan Juzemasu, is activated when he shatters the prayer beads that had served as a medium for his Shikai. This act symbolizes the breaking of the religious lens of his ideals that had restricted him and represents his renewed understanding of his path towards enlightenment. The ability begins by forming the giant tree that was seen in his inner world, this tree is a physical manifestation of his ideals and serves as the foundation of his new self.
The ability then uses the reiatsu within the expanded area to condense into grass similar to the field in Benjiro's inner world. This allows him to create an idyllic field around him, where nature's beauty is at its most raw and pure. Any action taken within this area is reflected back at the user, whether it is harmful or helpful, this represents Benjiro's understanding that he need not take the consequences of others for the sake of peace, but rather through understanding the suffering one causes to others, one can repent and continue down the path of true enlightenment. This ability serves as a reminder that enlightenment can be found in simplicity, and that it is only through mutual understanding that a path to peace can be found. The expanded area within Honkaijōju Futan Juzemasu's control is a 500 foot diameter around the tree, however it is only in effect when Benjiro is meditating at the root of the tree.
Zanpakuto Techniques:
Technique Name: Seiiki no Inori (Prayer of Sanctuary)
Technique Class: Class 4
Technique Type: Zanpakuto Spiritual
Usable By: Hiroto, Benjiro
Technique Element: N/A
Technique Cost: 150 reiatsu
Description: Within a 60 foot diameter from the source, which is Benjiro's body, all actions taken within the area will affect Benjiro instead. Any attacks made within the area will have the damage transferred to Benjiro, any healing done will affect Benjiro, and any other ability will affect Benjiro instead of the intended target. This ability is indiscriminate and affects both allies and enemies within the area. The reiatsu is visually represented by floating red beads within his area of control, like little lanterns floating overhead.
How to Use: To use this ability, Benjiro must actively release his Shikai. Then, by focusing his reiatsu into his prayer beads, he begins with the Buddhist gesture of the Abhaya Mudra or the gesture of fearlessness, visualized through his right hand raised to shoulder height with his palm facing outward and his left hand hanging downwards.
Drawbacks: Using this ability requires Benjiro to constantly have at least half of the Abhaya Mudra active and an active concentration. Should the suffering he endures be too much for him to maintain concentration or maintain the gesture of fearlessness, then this technique comes to an abrupt end. While this technique does not prevent movement or combat through other means, doing so severely limits his concentration.
Incantation: No Incantation is required to use this technique, however Benjiro may repeat a prayer or a mantra to help maintain his concentration to no actual mechanical benefit.
Made By: Benjiro Hiroto/Futan Juzemasu
Technique Name: Satori no Zon (Zone of Enlightenment)
Technique Class: Class 2
Technique Type: Zanpakuto Spiritual
Usable By: Hiroto, Benjiro
Technique Element: N/A
Technique Cost: 600 reiatsu
Description: Within a 500 foot diameter from the source, which is the great tree, all actions taken within the area will affect their user instead. Any attacks made within the area will have the damage reflected back at them, any healing done will affect the healer, and any other ability will affect their user instead of the intended target. This ability is indiscriminate and affects both allies and enemies within the area.
How to Use: To use this ability, Benjiro must actively release his Bankai. Then, Benjiro must sit at the base of the tree and begin to meditate, fully concentrating on his ideals of peace and prevention of harm. Through this, the reiatsu within the diameter become a field of grass that visually indicates the area of effect.
Drawbacks: This ability requires even deeper concentration for Benjiro to use, and as such, he cannot move or else the technique will be broken. In this state, Benjiro cannot cause harm to others even through the use of separate techniques or Kido.
Incantation: No Incantation is required to use this technique, however Benjiro may repeat a prayer or a mantra to help maintain his concentration to no actual mechanical benefit.

Other Techniques:
Technique Name: Shunpo (Flash Steps)
Class: 7
Technique Type: Kidō
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique, the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from Point A to Point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move. Those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it for an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower. This requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become tired more easily in a shorter amount of time. A single step magnifies speed for that step by ten times. Shunpo uses fifty Reiatsu per step. This one is automatically learned in the academy. All Shinigami know this when created. This technique does not take up a technique slot.
How to use technique:
Focus of Reishi around the feet area and launch off into a single blurring step. It is not unlike teleportation in appearance, but it is simply extremely fast movement. It is often used to gain an edge in a single moment of combat or to dodge incoming attacks.
Technique Name: Bakudō #1: Sai (Restrain)
Technique Class: 7 - 10 TTP
Technique Type: Kidō - Bakudō.
Usable By: Kidō-users.
Technique Element: N/A.
Technique Cost: 25 Reiatsu.
Description: Causes the target's arms to lock in place behind their back.
How to Use: Physical contact is required from the hand of the caster to any part of the body of the target.
Incantation: Incantation increases the strength behind the technique by 10%. (I.E. A reiatsu strength of 100 would instead be valued at 110 for this technique.) ("Man, shaped by Divine hands, revert to the form before limbs, clutch at your own throat and be afraid!")
Drawbacks: Reiatsu cost.
Made By: Unknown.
Reserved?: No.
Technique Name: Bakudō #9: Horin (Disintegrating Circle)
Technique Class: 7 - 10 TTP
Technique Type: Kidō - Bakudō.
Usable By: Kidō-users.
Technique Element: N/A.
Technique Cost: 25 Reiatsu.
Description: The second Bakudo of this number, Horin causes an orange tendril of condensed spiritual energy to spiral out of the caster's fingertips and attempt to enclose around and bind an enemy. These tendrils, once having bound a target, can merge to connect the targets.
How to Use: The caster needs to point at the victim, not unlike casting any regular Hado.
Incantation: If used, the incantation allows a 10% increase in reiatsu strength. (I.E. A reiatsu strength valued at 100 would instead be worth 110.) ("Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini! Look upon yourself with horror and tear out your own throat!")
Drawbacks: Reiatsu cost.
Made By: Unknown.

Technique Name: Bakudō #11: Haihin (Waste)
Technique Class: 7 - 10 TTP
Technique Type: Kidō - Bakudō.
Usable By: Kidō-users.
Technique Element: N/A.
Technique Cost: 25 Reiatsu.
Description: This Bakudō is unlike any other Bakudō ever made. Instead of being used on another person, this Bakudō is designed to be used on an enemy’s weapon. Once cast, this Bakudō will create a small curse marking somewhere on the target’s weapon. Only in the instance of releases that merge the weapon with the body will this mark appear on a person. So, for example, this will appear on a released Arrancar or Akki since they lose their weapon in release. The seal appears to be a swastika, pitch black in color. But what does this Kidō do and how does one go about breaking this spell? Well, it’s simple really. This Bakudō is one that is designed to break. In fact, the whole point of this Kidō is to be broken by the opponent.
The method that one takes to break this Kidō spell is to simply use one of your weapon’s abilities. Basically any technique that isn’t listed in a character’s overall ability sections will shatter this Bakudō. But how exactly does this Bakudō hinder an opponent? Well, through the process of shattering the Bakudō, the technique they used to break it will be nullified. Meaning that whatever reiatsu or energy they used to activate the ability that shattered the Bakudō is lost. This Bakudō essentially makes the next Zanpakutō technique they use never happen. Other than that, this Bakudō is useless. One could fight an entire battle without using a single Zanpakutō or release technique and not even be aware they were being affected by this Bakudō.
How to Use: Requires physical contact with the adversary's weapon.
Incantation: Creates two markings, to negate the next two techniques. ("Stun them all with your blinding deception. Bite the night with your unfailing jaws and cause your enemies to cower in fear.")
Drawbacks: Can only be used once every five posts in addition to there being a reiatsu cost.

-History-
Birthplace: Benjiro was born on Mount Otowa in Kyoto, Japan.
Current Residence: Benjiro lives in the Squad 10 barracks.
Memorable Figures:
- Eshin Sōtō - Eshin Sōtō was a Japanese Buddhist monk who served as a father figure for Benjiro. Eshin was a Zen master and taught Benjiro the ways of Buddhism, instilling in him the importance of humility, self-control, and compassion.
- Kazuo Nakamura - Kazuo Nakamura was a Japanese boy who served as a rival and best friend for Benjiro in the early stages of his life. They met when they were both young, and quickly bonded over their shared passion for Buddhism and the pursuit of enlightenment. Both were raised in a Zen Buddhist tradition and were fascinated by the teachings of the religion and the path to self-improvement and inner peace. Kazuo was a dedicated student and was always eager to learn more about the religion and its history, while Benjiro was more introspective and focused on personal growth and understanding.
- Miyuki Takahashi - Miyuki was a constant companion for Benjiro during his early days in the Soul Society, and they formed a strong bond of friendship. She was a source of comfort and support for Benjiro, and he often turned to her for advice and guidance.
History:
Benjiro was born in the remote mountain wilderness of Mount Otowa in Kyoto, abandoned by parents he never knew. The Buddhist monks at Kiyomizudera temple were his caregivers, and he was taken in by the monk named Eshin, who raised him and named him Benjiro Hiroto, meaning a big peace-loving boy. From an early age, Benjiro was immersed in the teachings of Buddhism, and he spent much of his childhood contemplating the religion and his place in the world. He helped around the temple, tending to the garden and sweeping the floors, and he lived a relatively peaceful life.
When Benjiro was 8 years old, a new student named Kazuo arrived at the temple. Kazuo was outgoing and charismatic, quickly striking up a friendship with a young Benjiro. They trained together tirelessly, honing their skills and pushing each other to be their best. Kazuo was learning the Japanese Buddhist martial art of Shorinji Kempo, and Benjiro was intrigued by the combination of martial arts and Buddhism. They learned from each other, and their friendship and rivalry deepened.
As they grew older, their bond of friendship only further deepened, and their differences in beliefs began to surface. While Kazuo was more focused on the martial arts aspect of Buddhism, Benjiro was more interested in the spiritual and philosophical aspects of the religion. They had different approaches towards their understanding of Buddhism, but they always respected each other's beliefs and had each other's backs. Kazuo was eager to learn and improve his body, while Benjiro was more contemplative and focused on personal growth and understanding.
Despite their differences, they continued to train together and learn from each other. They would often discuss their understanding of Buddhism and how it applied to their lives. Kazuo's fascination with the martial and physical aspect of Buddhism and its practical application taught Benjiro to be more present and active, while Benjiro's interests in the spiritual and philosophical aspects of the religion taught Kazuo temperance. They had different perspectives, but they always had a mutual respect for each other.
Benjiro's peaceful life at the temple was cut short in a tragic instant, on a fateful stormy night. The wind was howling and the rain was pouring down as Benjiro set out to cut wood for the temple. He was determined to finish the task despite the harsh weather, and he worked diligently with the axe in hand. However, despite his best efforts, a sudden gust of wind caught the axe and it struck him perfectly horizontally across his forehead, killing him instantly.
In his final moments, Benjiro reflected on his life and those he had left behind. He thought of Eshin, the monk who had raised him and taught him the ways of Buddhism, and Kazuo, his friend and rival who had taught him so much. He felt a sense of loss, feeling that he had so much more to learn on his path to enlightenment. He regretted that he hadn't helped enough people and that he wished he had more time to continue his journey and help others to find peace. He knew that his efforts and his sacrifices throughout his life had benefitted others, but he couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment in not having done more.
When Benjiro first awoke in the Soul Society after dying, he felt a sense of confusion and disorientation. He was in a completely new and unfamiliar place, and he had no idea what was happening to him. But as he began to explore and learn about the Soul Society, he slowly grew accustomed to his new surroundings. He met new souls and made new friends, and he began to understand that he had been given a second chance to help people and continue his journey towards enlightenment.
One of the first souls he met was a girl named Miyuki. She was kind and welcoming, and she helped Benjiro get settled in the Soul Society. She gave him work as a laborer, utilizing his large frame and build to help others with manual labor. For almost 70 years, Benjiro worked hard and helped others in the Soul Society, but he always felt like there was something more he could do. It was then that he learned of his spiritual potential and decided to join the ranks of the Soul Reapers, or Shinigami. He trained at the Academy and eventually ended up in Squad 10, which primarily focuses on the defense of the Soul Society. Benjiro was determined to use his second chance to make a difference in the world and continue his journey towards enlightenment.
