Mesh-san? Akira resented that. It just sounded lame. He much preferred the nicknames he'd gotten from Iroka. Bandit-domo was something cool and catchy, and didn't just reduce him to the shirt he wore. It wasn't even like the mesh top was the only thing he wore, either. He had his shihakusho as a coverup, though it had been loosened to show more skin. Well, there was no point focusing on that now, considering there was a battle to be won. "Yeah, sure, whatever you say, short stuff." Akira grumbled towards the short officer who saddled him with the nickname. Still, Officer Short Stuff had come up with a solid plan, by Akira's estimation.
Kitai came and went before Akira could say a word to him. He also appeared to have a friend made entirely of cheese. Classic Kitai. Akira supposed this was for the best, considering how insanely powerful Kitai was. It might have been nice to tell him how big a fan I am...and to clarify there's no hard feelings... Akira couldn't bring himself to resent Kitai. The guy had that sort of otherworldly charisma that allowed him to be terrifying and charming at the same time. Nevertheless, Kitai was gone, and in his place was an oppressive cloud of black mist. Was it poison? Akira sincerely hoped it wasn't poison. He somehow doubted this new body of his was prepared for that kind of thing.
If Akira was assigned to slay some monsters, that's what he'd do. No mercy, no hesitation, just some SICK ASS LIGHTNING POWERS! Benjiro took point as part of the defensive lineup and bound the giant orc with some bakudo. Though before Akira could make use of it, The orc broke through the bonds, though it seemed to suffer for it. A shinigami Akira did not recognize launched some kind of sword laser and wrecked the giant's proverbial shit. Whether it was bound or not, Akira would still do whatever he could to help. No matter what his stupid zanpakuto did or didn't do, he would fight until the bitter end. Maybe even after that.
He had no way of delivering Tsuzuri Raiden without getting close, and his zanpakuto decided to be a bitch and not do cool things. That left him with one option. Byakurai. For a giant orc, it may not be impressive, but if Akira could line up his shot well enough, even a comparatively small shot of lightning could do a lot. Akira stared down the iron sights of his finger gun, as he tried to aim for the beast's right eye. Considering the size of the target, Akira would most likely be able to hit the head at least, if he failed to hit one of the eyes. No matter what, he'd at least do something to the overgrown behemoth.
Akira would relax his stance and try and connect with the flow of reiatsu around him. By all accounts, he'd need all the advantages he could if he was going to do any damage to the giant orc. Since it was far away and not focused on him, it would be an opportune time to say the full incantation and reap the rewards from that. "Awake, mother of storms! Unleash lightning upon the sinners! Hadō number four; Byakurai!" With that, Akira would let the hado loose, for it to land where lady luck decided. Hopefully it would take out an eye, or at least go through its head or something.
595/620 (-25 for Byakurai, effective RS of 68 due to the incantation)
