The battle had been raging on for a while already, castle Hara and its rebel had been holding on this assault for a constant week now. The small Chirako clan was leading this recent assault, the plan devised by the son of the current leader, Tatsu.
We'll approach the castle from the south by night and employ peasants to dig underneath the outer wall, giving us the advantage we need to defeat these rebels."
The soldiers around him nodded and the other clans kept their assaults going while the Chirako clan prepared for glory. It would take three hours for the sun to fall on the horizon, the peasants would quickly approach the wall while a distraction was sent out and they would set to digging. The whole night they went, fifty of them, digging while Tatsu looked on with a smirk on his face already tasting his victory. The first cracks of victory could be heard just a little before the sun showed its face, the rebels were too busy defending another part of the castle to see the first outer wall buckle under its own weight. It would take 4 horses and 6 bulls with chains tied to the foundation of the sturdy castle to pull the wall apart, as soon as the animals succeeded at their job a moment of silence could be heard without, and within the castle.
Then, the young man's voice could be heard erupting from the silence.
"BANZAIIIIIII, GLORY AWAITS" He would shout as he charged alongside men in glorious Shogunate armor and colors of many clans. Tatsu charged in first and the adrenaline, and breath that emerged from the mask on his face could be seen as the morning dew started to settle. The battle was bloody and short and it wasn't until it was done that the young lord could feel the searing pain of an arrow in his chest, no wonder that last fight had been so hard. He also didn't understand why both his weapons slipped from his grasp, his hands were usually so firm.
It took him a moment but he removed his helmet, his vision blurry. Falling to his knee's with just enough resistance to display him in a slow motion fashion, he could barely hear his men fussing over him. He looked down to his chest, he could see the broken arrow and a deep cut with black blood oozing on his armor. "I've had enough I think.." He chuckled and stopped breathing, his vision slowly fading away while he could see men trying to stem the bleeding. Fools..

Physical Description: Tatsu is a tall, caucasian, fit looking man sporting long black hair in a ponytail held high with a red ribbon, he strides around with a demeanor that edges on seriousness and carelessness. His stature shows that he maintains his physical shape and cares about the way he goes around, head held high, shoulders straight and broad and arms straight at his side. For those who share his time in a public path with him they could attest to his workout routine, without being perfectly chiseled one could easily say that he will not end up being one who is bullied at the academy. Short scars dot his bodyhere and there show that he began his unlife in the deeper parts of the Rukon districts and had to work his way to the place he is at now.
Being rather tall and purposeful, Tatsu walks on a light step as he finds it to be more distinguished from the usual brutes who stomp around loudly. Wishing to portray that he enjoys elegance his outfit is always in the best condition that he can manage it to be within reason, and if he is even caught by a prank where one would sully his outfit, he would ask politely with a voice that would resonate with purpose and intent. The academy garb being white there are many people who tried such pranks, but he would always get them later on in paired training.

Dislikes:
-There is something about some spices that he dislikes, the earthy feel of cheap wasabi is something he can't wrap his head around, and he would rather deprive himself than eat a meal with it.
-Useless confrontations is something he would break his social mask to show displeasure, why would people go to such length to confront a situation or people in such a useless manner.
-Currently, he dislikes people not taking the academy learning seriously, it took him way too many years to get here, he isn't about to let some idiots ruin his chance.
-Having to remember the whole prayer to properly shoot kido, this reminds him, every time he goes to kido lessons, that he isn't good enough to do it without incantation.
-Public displays of emotions, emotions should be guarded and kept personal, crying in public is a situation that would make Tatsu walk away.
-Loud people, why would you need to yell, we're within talking distance, there is no need to be so loud, let us be adults and talk it out, tea perhaps ?
Likes:
-Who doesn't appreciate a little breakthrough here and then, the feeling of improvement of personal pride is something a man can easily appreciate.
-Being with people who appreciate wellness and cleanliness, why play in dirt when you could be reading a good book with calm and collected people.
-Sparring, there is something to fighting that exteriorizes one's inner energy, and finding a sparring partner that has the skill level and energy to keep up is something very fun.
-Hot drinks, ranging from the hot cocoa to tea is something that one could easily sidetrack Tatsu with.
-Rhythmic music, or music in general there is something soothing to playing music that soothes the soul. There is a music appropriate for every situation.
-Who doesn't appreciate clement weather and a calm afternoon, to write poetry or think thought provoking thoughts.
Flaws:
-Wanting to improve so fast, he tends to use each and every trick of people around him to find the easiest method to improvement before developing his own, meaning he has very little personal style.
-Always trying to make it right, or get it right, viewing failure as something akin to a sin.
-Being methodical and so inclined to trying to get it right, means that he has a hard time trying something new, especially in front of many people who might see him get it tremendously wrong.
-Being set in his way's there is a stubbornness that settled in years and years ago, sometimes being shown the correct way isn't enough, Tatsu need's to try his own way and see it fail before moving on.
Habits:
-Pampering his Zanpakuto with all the proper oils and powders once a day, at the break of day in a quiet spot if possible.
-Three meals per day, and respecting meal hours, its important to him, he enjoys his food at proper times.
-Having a good book on his person
Fears:
-A distinct fear of depths, or what could be lurking deep in the deep waters of the world.
-The fear of not being enough for the current situation and the doubt that accompanies this.
Goals:
-Being an exemplary Shinigami for one is very important to him, to show that the further rukon district are worth it.
-Becoming a Seated officer is something he would call a pipe dream, but there are many ways to the world.
-Finding a squad that will take him for what he is, and help him become more than what he can be by himself.
-Pushing back the threats of the world to a dark corner of history.
Alignment:
Tatsu attempts to remain someone who is morally gray, he will actively seek to do good if he knows about it, but he will not hesitate to do an act that some might call evil if it turns out doing more good, from a psychologic point of view though his intentions are good and if he knows that there is a "good" ending to a situation he will try to achieve that, even though he might have to do some horrible things to achieve it, as many would say it, hell is paved with good intentions and this is something Tatsu knows and is contending with, a good tool to help him is a code to follow, the Shinigami code that asks for them to respect spirits, perform konso and monitor the flow of souls within the world.
Overall Personality:
Being a person who introspect, takes the time to think about why people act the way they do tends to put oneself a little further away on the emotional spectrum. This tends to put a person to be rather calm and collected and walk into situation with assuredness rather than recklessness. Being assured gives off a habit of being stoic, how can you be scared if you know what you are walking into, but then against it can easily be mistaken with arrogance. That is not to say he is immune to shock and there are chances he will act brashly if he has no choice, but it isn't something he appreciates. Being calm and collected serves to live old.
That's not to say that this guy doesn't enjoy a good scrap once in a while, he will gladly put his blades to the test against a friendly duel. Always fun to get something on the line also, drinking games are always fun, because the more you drink, the more you lose, so being able to old your liquor is always a good idea. A good workout and a good drink always shows for a good afternoon, only way to top this off, is a good meal, nothing soothes the spirit like good seasoned meat, this is what Tatsu would kill for after a good long while at the academy. Spending time with quality people is something Tatsu believes to be very important.
The young man is very careful about who he choses to become his close friends, or even who he lets into his closer circles in life, he has been betrayed once before in the Rukon districts and that has thought him a very important lesson. And being able to introspect and take the time to think is something important, specially on if someone will have a good influence or a bad influence in the long run. That is also to say, its a current thing, people are able to change and will change with the influence of people around them, being able to look past the initial barrier that people try to show others and see who this person is fundamentally, and that, is what Tatsu looks for in a person, who are they fundamentally and is that needed in his current life.
The people that do make it through this 'screening' process that he forces himself to do will be shown the loyalty of a true friend, there is little he wouldn't do for someone who sticked with him through thick and thin, because loyalty is something so ingrained in him the limits of what he could do for a true friend probably goes beyond reason, he would face any hardship any creature the cruel world can toss at him, being able to withstand unimaginable levels of pain to stand in the way of danger for someone he cares for in danger. He knows he's got the guts to stand up to challenge and take it head on.
Facing his problems head on is something he prides himself at, atleast in everything except politics, and he believes that politics are in everything, and that is something which can be enjoyed, one does not climb to the top and stay there through sheer acts of strength. No, he believes that the path of least resistance, giving to people what they need and making it appear as if it was easy to have them gravitate around you. Show how a rough situation can be solved and how it benefits all the parties, instead of simply asking for help, because owing a favor can always lead to disastrous events. Perhaps it is his education in the world of the living seeping its way through but Tatsu is well versed in the laws of power.

Fighting Style: The Hyoho Niten Ichi-ryu techniques are known to be a rarer than most two bladed sword techniques. Its offensive stance, pointing both blades towards the heavens, crossed proves to be a very effective fighting style against single blade users, but such a legendary technique wouldn't be be known these days if its founder hadn't been a Kensei himself. Two heaven's style is a fierce dueling style and it also excels at keeping multiple opponents at bay in case of a losing fight. Tatsu uses this technique with a defensive mindset, enjoying all the aspects of the technique he will often find a sparring partner or two and attempt to interpret scenarios which put all the contestants skills to the test.
In a dueling mindset Tatsu will often be in a flowing mindset attempting to control the dance and force his opponent in a flow of his choosing, and having two blades is a good way to prevent the loss of the flow. He is far from being a sword saint but he does enjoy a good duel from time to time, be it with swords or hand to hand. His skills in hand to hand are poor at best, but knowing how to prolong a fight is better if you are losing, hoping to get assistance. With a mindset like this, there are many ways to fight, and he wants to try to be ready for all them.
Keeping a cool head during fights, staying aware of the variables of the battlefield, knowing one's limits and learning the limits of his opponents that is all part of the playstyle that he has adopted. A balanced style with his zanpakuto's of offense and defense, methods of staying alive with a bit of Hakuda, paired with potent Bakudo's to gain more time in losing fights, Tatsu wants to use all the possible tools in his arsenals and many would paint him a generalist for it not that it bothers him in the slightest.
Zanpakuto Spirit Appearance(Optional): A planet sized, humanoid who's body features are distinctly shown by stars and constellations , made entirely of stone, magma and fire standing on an infinite landscape of the sun backed by the vastness of space.
Inner World(Optional): The infinite horizon of the sun, solar flare arcing above and behind the massive central body that is the nameless zanpakuto spirit in the middle.
Zanpakuto Appearances: A steel bladed katana of around 80cm with a square tsuba accompanied by a short red laced grip designed for single hand handling of the zanpakuto, its sheath is accompanied by a laquered bloodwood sheath slung with a bloodred sling over the shoulder of Tatsu in an elegant fashion. Under his sash another, shorter blade can be easily seen, a wakizashi under a jetblack laquered sheath, a careful glance shows detail on the sheath, leaves on fire. The handle of the wakizashi is laced with jetblack laces and the tsuba is also square.

Overall Ability:
These two blades together represent profit through self sacrifice, the ability to inflict a little bit of self harm to go so much further in battle. The sword dripping this oily fiery liquid is reminiscent of the sacrifices he suffered to learn these abilities, these swords are very demanding and to gain power, Tatsu must first become the sword's first victim, that way he knows the pain he is inflicting on others to either help or harm. Statistically, this will allow Tatsu to endure much more pain, have a certain amount of control over the liquids and solids his swords are excreting.
Shikai Overall Ability:
In their released state, each blade is different, The lady of Firestone, his Katana is always warm to the touch and must be pampered as a true lady of a lord would, Tatsu would not dare forego his sword maintenance fearing what she might do.
The lord of Firestone on the other hand, has a jetblack blade made of what seems to be extremely polished stone, using a whetstone of the finest polish on it everyday is necessary but alot less maintenance is required by the weapon itself, as it gets tired of being pampered after a while.
Cleansing fire: Tatsu's Katana wreathes itself in a dripping fiery, oily liquid, this liquid causes damage damage to people hostile to Tatsu and cauterizes the wounds of allies. This constant effect can be slung from the blade to effectively do these effects at a distance, enabling the use of his further abilities.
This oily substance falls on the ground and remains on fire by itself for as long as he maintains the "Stack" of flame, also known as 10 liters of oil.
Oil used to harm, must be paid for in reiatsu as an active thought process and can be slung if needed up to 10 meters. This also generate a stack of flame and represents 10 liters of oil.
Each stack of Flame costs 25 Reiatsu per post. EG: 10 Stacks of flame would cost 250 Reiatsu per post.
Onyx Fortress: Tatsu's Wakizashi crystalizes black onyx shards and seems to shed them continuously, Tatsu can use these shards and manipulate them at will in a radius around him to effectively create defensible area's and enable the other abilities his wakizashi gives him.
This defensive area is a short area around him and each flake of onyx is about the same size and thickness as a pangolin scale. He can manipulate all the scales on the ground in a radius of 30 centimeters around him. He can use these flakes of Onyx and manipulate their shape to to create cover for himself.
Each post this wakizashi generates a pound of Onyx, also known as a Stone stack, since he can only control these stones in a limited range, he needs to actively maintain the stones around him if he wants to have more than a single stack at his disposal.
A Maximum of 3 stacks of Stone can ever be maintained at once.
Bankai Overall Ability:
Tatsu's two weapons start dripping a continuous lava flow, he has some control over this lava flow and he can use it to heal grievous wounds or deal searing damage to enemies. He can decide to harden the lava to encase allies in a protective casing or keep it hot and sticky to glue enemies in a pool of searing hot lava. This lava is able to fuel the abilities of his Bankai, the more there is the better.
Passively the Bankai generates 1 stack of lava per post, and most of his bankai techniques will generate or spend some.
Both blades maintain the abilities they had in their shikai form, although the stone and flames generated by the bankai are in lava form and much more hot and dangerous.
Lava counts as a stack of Stone and Flame for the purpose of overall abilities and techniques.
Forming a Protective stone Casing Requires 250 Reiatsu to use and a moment of concentration to make sure it is formed properly, it also costs 5 stacks of Lava to cover a standard humanoid body from head to toe. Breathing normally is probably the only movement that can be easily done within, to break out, a standard clash is needed.
The Searing Glue Requires 200 Reiatsu to maintain on someone and constant concentration alongside 4 stacks of Lava. Then 50 Reiatsu to maintain it each post.
The healing factor is an active process which consumes Lava Stacks each and every turn someone is being healed with the lava, depending on the seriousness of the wound, more stacks are consumed but if he does not have the required stacks, he must actively remain with the wounded person to provide the missing stacks.
Light Wound: 1 Stack
Serious Wound: 4 Stack
Mortal Wound: 10 Stacks
Anything more than a light wound would require Tatsu to already have all the required stacks on hand to heal someone rapidly, if he is missing stacks he must spend additional posts equal to the number of stacks missing to heal someone.

Description: Tatsu forces more of the flowy fiery liquid dripping from his Katana to cover the skin of an ally or enemy, this liquid causes searing pain on whoever has it on their body. It has the properties of petrol, but its also on fire.
Depending on the intentions of Tatsu, this liquid has multiple properties;
On allies this liquid burns away all impurity and kickstarts the natural healing process of the person covered by the liquid. The liquid hardens and covers the wound protecting it from further harm. This protective shell is very brittle and will quickly save anyone from any wound, strenuous activity will ruin the technique and require the process to be started over.
Minor wound costs: 25 Reiatsu 1 Flame or Lava Stack
Major wound costs: 50 Reiatsu 3 Flame or Lava Stack
Mortal Wound Costs: 200 Reiatsu 10 Flame or Lava stack.
On enemies this ability costs reiatsu based on its class and acts like acidic fire, burning away skin and digging as deep as it can before the imbued liquid cools down and hardens inside the wound much like its healing counterpart. For each post this remains on the enemy, an additional stack of flame or lava is generated.

Description: Tatsu reaches out with his reatsu and gains control of the shards of onyx dropped by his stone Wakizashi. He then wills them into his skin, or the skin of another humanoid, or near humanoid within his vicinity, this process is extremely painful as each shard forms staples that adhere to the skin, but form also an extremely durable exo-skin, akin to an armodillo. The more shards are on the ground, the more he can cover a body part.
This costs 1 Stack of Stone/Lava per limb and costs 25 Reiatsu.
This costs 2 Stacks of Stone/Lava for the Torso and 100 Reiatsu
This costs 2 stacks of Stone/Lava for the Head and 50 Reiatsu.
This armor has a durability that is worn down with attacks, and its durability totals twice his Offensive Stat.
On enemies he simply wills them as deep in the enemy as possible, without any finesse, and he aims for it to offer no protection, but with all the inquired pain that accompanies it.
This applies a speed debuff that reduces the speed of the enemy by 10% per stack of Stone/Lava that hits the enemy, up to a maximum of 50%, each stack of 10% lasts for 5 posts.
Costs 50 Reiatsu per stack used to fuel this technique.
For the purposes of Bankai the lava would harden first and then seek to pierce their way inside the victim.

Memorable Figures: The Scriptures of Miyamoto Musashi
History: Born in the early ages of the Tokugawa shogunate in the small noble Chirako family. Tatsu was groomed from birth to be an exemplary samurai, his father a soldier himself had already went through great pains for the young man to have a teacher in the twin heaven technique, and scrolls procured from copies of the Musashi scrolls still found to this day. Being learned in Bushido, poetry, mathematics, writing, made him quite a match and from a young age his father had already decided that he wanted to elevate his station through the marriage of his son, and of course, Tatsu would do his due and would obey his father to the best of his ability. Learning to die when dying is right, and to strike when striking his right, was one of the most important things he learned and he would bring it to his grave.
Fighting the many battles of the shogunate is a way for a young man to grow into a fearsome warrior, but the young man gave as much effort into refining himself into something else than a warrior, he didn't want to be perceived as a brute, it was important to him and his father respected his wishes so long as he offered as much devotion to both ways, and thus the samurai walked through life with his head held high with pride and the little village that belonged to their family thrived under the rule of the shogunate.
The life of the young samurai came to an abrupt end at the point of a misled arrow and a sword slash to the gut, that perforated through his damage armor. He knew it was his end and attempted to the best of his ability to live, but in vain, the color of his blood was as dark as the back of his eye lids as he slumped down, sitting in the courtyard of a conquered castle, lifeless. Atleast until he decided to reopen his eyes and notice he was still the same courtyard looking around and seeing massive monsters eating through friend and foes alike. The chaos seemed ignored by many, but felt real to many more who littered the recovering battlefield.
Tatsu couldn't feel his heart beat in his chest, but he could feel his will being tested once again and tossing aside the ideas of friend and foes, all were allies against these demons. He attempted to rally the people in the courtyard, some joined him others ran away outside where the rampaging demons could be seen feasting on them. His strategy worked a little while and he tried to make head or tails of the situation, but before he could understand anything it seemed that the concentration of survivor attracted these beasts as more and more of them rushed towards the now crumbling castle. The chaos resumed and everyone ran, Tatsu, unable to grasp his swords sat kneeled and accepted his fate, a second time, thinking that this is a messed up reincarnation process.
For some reason the chaos stopped, resigned the samurai opened his eyes only to hear a voice walk up besides him, he could barely process what she said before having an engraving thrust onto his forehead and all his worries faded to black.
Waking up with fading memories of who you were in an alien land of pseudo-japan feeling weird mixes of energies around you puts someone, or rather anyone in a craze. As a result of this panic Tatsu was being extra careful and kept everyone at a distance, pushing him deeper and deeper into the slums of the rukon district. Being surrounded by misfits and distasteful beings led the once noble samurai to gather his own distasteful crew and bully the people of the district to feed them for protection, or just bully them into paying for protection. That lasted for a good while in every spot, until people gathered and pushed them deeper and deeper into the slums where they were a much smaller fish.
Getting his ass kicked time and time again had a bad effect on his crew, friend became foe and many turned away, or got slaughtered again. Wishing to avoid this fate, the young man calmed down and attempted to wander towards the more respectable districts, where he learned of the existence of Seireitei and the shinigami. Some strong inner belief told him that he would be able to fare much better according to his current belief there and he started gathering information on how to join the shinigami. It took him some time but he managed to get accepted within the academy, leading us to present time.
Its already been a few months within the academy and Tatsu has been learning at a decent pace, having a good idea of where you want to go, he's already made some arrangements to try and meet representatives of certain squads to try and get a better understanding of where he would want to go, even though he knows that he needs to spend multiple years at the academy. This was a perfect time to try and get scouted for him and he would not mince any effort and use any ressources that are available to him to get the attentions of the squads, perhaps he would even get an offer for him to join.
