Hello again, members of Bleach: Online World!
As can be assumed from the name of the post, this announcement is pretty much exactly what you might expect: I’m stepping down as a member of the Staff Team, and ultimately I’m going to be stepping away from the forum as a whole. Before I go into that, however, I’d like to say that this is by no means out of ill will toward anyone or anything here on the site. Practically everyone here (save for a few exceptions over the years) have quickly become quite close friends of mine. As I’ve said on numerous occasions to numerous folks, I like to view this community as a “home away from home”. Because of that, it pains me to make an official statement like that, but I feel it’s something that at this point does need to be done. I’ll do what I can to keep this message brief, though.
With that out of the way, I’d like to share a bit of my reasoning behind the choice made to depart. I don’t want to leave anything up to interpretation, and the goal here is to share my full thought process with those that might have a want to hear what has to be said. It’s nothing inherently negative, or anything that another member caused or anything of the like, so there should be no worry in that regard. Instead, it’s more due to my own experiences with the forum over the last six years.
When I had first joined the forum alongside Layla, it had been out of a desire to write as I saw fit. To enjoy the world, make some friends, and come up with some fun character concepts. Even to this day, a lot of that remains the same, but it just doesn’t feel the same anymore. Instead of enjoying posting, and writing with others, it feels much more like a chore at this point than anything else. Striving for a certain paragraph count is more stressful at this point than it is fun. Instead of being a place where I feel I can relax, the forum feels to only add on to the amount of stress I tend to feel on a daily basis. Add on my classwork on top of that, further limiting the time I’m actually able to spend posting and/or with Staff work, and it tends to get overwhelming rather quickly.
Once more, I’d like to reiterate that this isn’t due to any particular member(s). Quite the opposite; in all honesty, the community is the main reason why I’ve stuck around on the forum as long as I have, and is the main reason I strove to become a member of Staff. But, even despite that, roleplaying on Bleach: Online World has proven to be a bit of a handful for me at the moment. And, as such, I’ve decided it’s time for me to take my leave from the forum. Naturally I’ll still involve myself with the community where I can, as the last thing I’d like to do is give that up, but I cannot in good faith remain present on the forum.
I would, however, like to thank each and every person that’s done really anything with me on the forum along the way. Each and every thread that I’ve done since my joining has been quite enjoyable; all of the fights with Camila, the intrigue and developmental opportunities I had with Priscilla, the plotting and invasion with Orobas, and even now with where Chika and Yui were going. It’s been a wild ride, but not one I’ll be forgetting anytime soon.
