The user’s finger is modified, allowing acid bursts to be shot from the fingertip; the mechanism is connected to the user’s blood, and uses its iron content to create the highly acidic substance. Iron is ionized in the process, which means magnetic forces can both attract and repel the metallic acid.
A volume of half a cubic meter of acidic substance is propelled each time this item is used; whenever such a projectile is in motion, it will reach 50 meters without any vertical fall, will continue up to 80 meters with minimal falloff and will then begin dropping heavily beyond that, requiring to arc the trajectory to hit a farther target. The maximal range is 100 meters, beyond which the momentum is no longer enough to carry it further.

Note that this only applies while the finger is actively firing; acidic content is not passively stored inside the finger.

Propelled nerves are soaked in a sweat-based mucus, protecting them from air friction while they are travelling in midair.
Nerves shot from this mechanism are initially attached to the fingertip, but can be detached by the mechanism at any point afterward; nerves formerly detached cannot be reattached. While a nerve remains attached to the user, it can reel in at a speed equal to its IP (allowing either the user to pull what’s caught toward them, or pull themselves toward the object if it’s anchored with the terrain).
While attached, a weak electric current will keep travelling through the nerve continuously; if it’s entangled around someone, this current will cause the muscles it is in contact with to spasm uncontrollably by constantly tensing and loosening up, gradually reducing the target's stamina and exhausting them. It will also prevent the involved limbs from freeing themselves directly by simply flexing the victim's strength, although a different limb of theirs may pull the nerves away and Strength of Will 2 is sufficient to momentarily resist the effect and counteract with the affected limb; if nothing is done and the victim remains affected over a period of three posts, their stamina should be interpreted as being depleted. Nerves shot from this mechanism are initially attached to the fingertip, but can be detached by the mechanism at any point afterward; nerves formerly detached cannot be reattached. While a nerve remains attached to the user, it can reel in at a speed equal to its IP (allowing either the user to pull what’s caught toward them, or pull themselves toward the object if it’s anchored with the terrain).
While attached, a weak electric current will keep travelling through the nerve continuously; if it’s entangled around someone, this current will cause the muscles it is in contact with to spasm uncontrollably by constantly tensing and loosening up, gradually reducing the target's stamina and exhausting them. It will also prevent the involved limbs from freeing themselves directly by simply flexing the victim's strength, although a different limb of theirs may pull the nerves away and Strength of Will 2 is sufficient to momentarily resist the effect and counteract with the affected limb; if nothing is done and the victim remains affected over a period of three posts, their stamina should be interpreted as being depleted. Assuming the victim has a particular per-post limitation to their stamina because of their type, every post under this effect should also be doubled and never be counted as a form of rest.
The nerve’s endpoint can be fashioned into any single-point shape the user desires, before being shot from their fingertip. Non-exhaustive examples include hooks, anchors, bola weights, and so forth. Once shot, the endpoint of this specific nerve cannot be changed anymore.
Note that the item’s IP denotes the maximum speed with which the mechanism can pull on an attached nerve, but the user may choose to pull at a lesser speed if desired.

While a nerve remains attached, it is very much still connected to the user’s nervous system; this means that any damage it suffers will be relayed as excruciating pain to the user. The sweat-based mucus it’s coated with protects it from air friction, but it is otherwise dangerously unprotected; if the mucus is somehow removed or made ineffective by an opponent, crippling pain will also be felt whenever the item is used.
If the nerve is either cut or detached through combat, the mechanism requires a full post before the next nerve is ready for use; attempting to use it before then will not produce satisfactory results.
Note that speed rules apply for all movements that may occur while using this item, such movements must be taken into account when considering the user’s stamina.

Iron content can only be restored a limited number of times during a thread / between long rests. Pain increases following each use, since the user's muscles are strained from the rapidly fluctuating amount of iron in their blood; this pain will eventually reach a threshold where it becomes too much to endure, causing them to fall unconscious. The limit is one use for a normal individual, increased by one for each SKP invested in Pain Tolerance; it therefore caps at six iron shots for someone with Pain Tolerance 4.
