-Basic Information-
Name: Satoshi Kazuhiko
Age of Death: 17
Real Age/Age of Appearance: 5/22
Birthday (Month/Day): 10/16
Blood Type: O negative

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Appearance-
Height/Weight: 5’2”/105 lbs
Physical Description:
Kazuhiko is a diminutive boy who looks unfit for the life of a soldier. He has a small stature, standing only 5'2 and a lithe frame weighing in at 105 lbs. It also doesn't help that his clothes are too large for him.
While not quite a boy, it is clear he was taken from the mortal world long before his time. His face is unmarred and soft looking. His expression is almost always warm and welcoming with a smile meant to warm even the coldest of hearts. He has dark skin that contrasts with his blonde hair, dyed to match his sisters. His hair is unstyled as if he’d just rolled out of bed. Despite his youthful appearance, there is an academic intelligence reflected in his striking blue eyes. They shine with curiosity from behind the frames of his glasses.
His shihakusho is unique in a number of ways. The first, is that he wears two kosode, with the top layer being far too large for him. The sleeves of this Japanese-style robe hang down over his hands, hips, and over the hilt of his asauchi. Uniquely, he wears his scabbard on his right hip, as he wields the weapon with his left hand. This is because Kazuhiko is missing his right arm from the shoulder down.
Beneath his overlarge kosode his attire is fit more appropriate to his lilliputian form. However, their colors are inverted. His shitagi, or undershirt, is black, while his kosode and Hakama are white. The reason for this inversion is symbolic of his stubborn determination to save souls rather than reap them. The second kosode, though cumbersome, is worn in order to conform with his peers as well as veil his disability.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Personality-
Dislikes:
-Death: Specifically, Kazuhiko fears the death of others. He was once left alone in the world and naively wants to help keep others from experiencing that same grief and loneliness.
-Cruelty: Kazuhiko believes in the goodness of those around him. As such, cruelty clashes with his personal paradigm.
-Being looked down on: Both literally and figuratively. If able, he will find a place to sit or stand on so that he can be on equal footing with those he is engaging with.
-Being treated like a kid: Kazuhiko is acutely aware of his appearance and his age. He wants to be taken seriously, so being treated like a kid infuriates him.
-Vegetables: No kid likes vegetables.
-Sharks: He didn't lose his arm to a shark. Nor has he ever swam in the ocean. He simply has an irrational fear of sharks.
Likes:
-Fuuko: Kazuhiko is very attached to his sister Fuuko. As a pair, they contrast in many ways, but her happiness is paramount to him! He is protective as a little brother, but more realistically, he is protected. He tries his best not to be a burden to her, and as such, tends to sometimes get in over his head over not wanting to ask her for help.
-Meat: Exactly what a growing boy needs!
-Coffee (60% milk, 40% sugar, 10% coffee): Kazuhiko doesn't want to be treated like a kid, so he drinks coffee like an adult. Unfortunately, it is just a glorified sweet.
-Sweets: Don't tell anyone! Kazuhiko loves sweets, but he tries to hide this so as not to look like a little kid.
-Helping others: Kazuhiko validates himself by helping others. Friend or foe, Kazuhiko finds his place in the world by assisting others through hardship.
-Learning: While Kazuhiko can't do anything to fix his physical growth, he is a constant sponge academically. He loves to experience and see new things! Even if he doesn't always understand them in the way you might expect.
-Bad jokes: If a comedian is bombing, Kazuhiko is the one guy in the room laughing!
-Being on the front line: Kazuhiko wants to rush to where he is needed most, or at least where he thinks that is!
Flaws:
-Kazuhiko does not have the will to kill someone. He has vowed to save as many souls as possible, even the souls of the wicked. He believes no one is beyond redemption.
-Kazuhiko is extremely willful and stubborn. While this can be advantageous, he lacks the strength to really follow through with his determination and often relies on his sister to pull him out of fires he created for himself.
-Kazuhiko is naïve. He does not believe in true, unaltering evil.
-Kazuhiko is also quite gullible. While clever, he wants to believe in the good of those around him, therefore, he must be trained to assume that someone is lying to him.
Habits:
-Kazuhiko loves coffee. However, his coffee is really just sweet milk with -just- enough coffee to give his drink a light brown tint.
-Kazuhiko is easily misled, especially by someone who purports to be in need.
-Kazuhiko will intervene and put himself at great risk to help someone in need, especially if they are in mortal peril. He knows how the loss of life can echo and affect those in contact with it, and he would do anything to prevent it.
-When Kazuhiko is nervous he fidgets.
-Kazuhiko can focus intensely on things he finds interesting.
-But his attention often wanders away mid-topic if he finds something boring.
-Kazuhiko wears glasses. There is nothing wrong with his vision, but he thinks that people will take him more seriously as an academic if he wears them. He will often adjust them when making a point. Or alternatively, take them off when he is having trouble seeing something.
Fears:
-Being alone again: After his sister died Kazuhiko made the determination to save as many people as possible. He hopes that if he can touch enough hearts, no one will have to feel alone. Now, reunited, he fears losing her again.
-Being held back by his disability: Kazuhiko is acutely aware of his disability. While he doesn't let it stop him from trying to achieve, he fears that one day it might lead to failure at a crucial moment. He hasn't fully accepted himself and projects his personal inadequacies onto his disability.
-Being a burden: Despite his lofty ambitions, Kazuhiko fears being a burden to others. He will often ignore his own weakness because of this. Kazuhiko wants to be trusted and needed and requires others to validate himself.
-The Ocean: Just as with sharks. Kazuhiko is terrified of the dark, lonely expanse.
Goals:
Kazuhiko wants to save as many lives as possible. This extends to the enemy side as well. Kazuhiko believes in a world in which peace and cooperation are the standard and death only occurs naturally.
Kazuhiko wants to make his sister's dreams come true, perhaps more than even his own.
Kazuhiko wants to become strong enough to be recognized for it. He has often been associated with his weaknesses. His slim, meek appearance, his disability, his naivety. He yearns to be acknowledged for his capability!
Alignment: Neutral Good
Overall Personality: Kazuhiko is defined by his overwhelming if not naïve desire to see a world of peace and cooperation. He brings with him an aura of bright, cheery optimism. He greets strangers with a smile and is both too kind, and too trusting. The world is dark, but he believes that he can be a light for others.
While he is possessing of a young heart, he does not like to be looked down upon or treated like a child. This can be exceptionally difficult to avoid given his young appearance and unorthodox beliefs. He is stubborn to a fault and often lacks the power to back up his claims. But that doesn't stop him from following through with his stoic determination! This misguided vigilance often gets him in trouble, requiring his sister, Fuuko, to bail him out.
Similarly, Kazuhiko does not like being looked down upon because of his disability. He is missing an arm and this has presented many challenges for his family as a mortal. While he was cared for and treated with kindness, he was also aware of the burden he put on his family, especially Fuuko. These feelings were carried over into the afterlife. They were transformed by his optimism into a deep appreciation for cooperation and support. While many feel the need to be fiercely independent, Kazuhiko believes that collaboration is what makes someone powerful.
Kazuhiko yearns to aid others. He is nearly unable to refuse a request for help and will put himself at great risk to assist others. In life, he died attempting to save someone dear to him. He is almost certain to face the same fate in the afterlife. That is unless he can achieve his lofty dream of world peace first.
One might think that this sort of personality would lend itself to a lawful alignment, however, Kazuhiko is quite outside of the box. He isn't very fond of rules and is quite unusual in his beliefs. He is slow to move towards violence and is appalled by unnatural death. He believes that all souls can be redeemed. All individuals can be good. He believes that all it takes is the conviction to send someone back down the proper path to goodness. But death, death removes that individual's ability to choose! At the end of the day, Kazuhiko values freedom and expression over Laws.

-Powers-
Fighting Style: Kazuhiko's fighting style is up close and personal. Despite his placement in Squad 4, Kazuhiko is not afraid to get in a scuffle. Unlike his sister Fuuko, Kazuhiko is not fond of bloodshed. Because of this he prefers hand-to-hand combat and is not especially adept with a sword. Worse, his Asauchi is actually a bladeless sword. This is a reflection of his heart's desire to do as little damage as possible. However, that makes him somewhat less effective at actually ending fights by physical means at this point in his career.
When able, he would rather restrain an opponent with Kido over hurting them. When pushed, he will pursue incapacitating an opponent, but never killing them. This mercy does not fully extend to Hollows, as they are souls in need of being saved. But it becomes far muddier when dealing with Arrancar, who has developed their own sentience and connections. The same extends to fullbringers and quincy. Regardless of how malicious they are, Kazuhiko would sooner see them subdued than killed.
Kazuhiko is quick to put himself at risk if he thinks it will avoid further bloodshed. He is self-sacrificing, typically valuing the health and safety of his compatriots; and sometimes even the enemy, over himself. When possible, Kazuhiko aims to meet the objectives of his mission while resulting in as little loss of life as possible. Life is both valuable and irreplaceable. He doesn't believe that he has the right to steal someone's potential future from them!
Kazuhiko is especially adept at providing defense against Reiatsu based attacks or taking down enemies with low spiritual pressure. Because of his small stature he is often underestimated by larger foes with much greater strength. However, if his opponent lacks Spiritual Pressure, they will quickly find themselves felled by his unique battle strategy. Kazuhiko's Shikai based attacks deal no physical damage, instead, draining their Reiatsu to the point of incapacitation! Either a blow or a block can see his foes facing fatigue, as long as contact is made with them or something attached to their body, he will force out some of their Reiatsu! His intent is to discourage fighting and yield to reason and peace. But when this fails, a person with 0 remaining Reiatsu will find themselves unconscious and easy to apprehend.

Zanpakuto Appearances:
{Asauchi}Kazuhiko's Asauchi is a large Odachi. From blade to hilt it measures 137 cm or 4 feet. Its sheath just barely doesn't drag upon the ground as Kazuhiko walks and it often hits things as he turns. The blade itself is edgeless.
{Hyakujuunoou (Beast-King)}Kazuhiko's Shikai is a golden arm that takes the place of his missing arm. The ornate metal is full of veins through which his reiatsu can flow, illuminating it with a brilliant, almost heavenly white light. When it strikes a target it roars, like a sonic boom, as his Reiatsu explodes out of the four vents upon his knuckles.
{Kitoku Hyakujuunoou Zaiten (Benevolent Beast-King in Heaven)}When Kazuhiko calls out his Bankai, his arm disappears, replaced for a time with an arm of flesh and bone. A howling wind surrounds him in a spiral of radiant white reiatsu! When it disperses, Kazuhiko is changed. His glasses are gone and his skin appears just a bit more radiant, and cherubic. His lower kosode dissolves, replaced instead with a pair of crisscrossed white straps. Beneath these straps is a tattoo of the kanji Jisho (mercy). And most strikingly, he has a pair of wings.
Zanpakuto Release Names(Include both Shikai and Bankai names, and call out phrases): Shikai: Roar! Hyakujuunoou [Beast-King]
Bankai: Save Them! Kitoku Hyakujuunoou Zaiten (Benevolent Beast-King in Heaven)
Overall Ability: Kazuhiko has a permanent release due to his overwhelming spiritual pressure. He is unable to return his Shikai to Asauchi once it has been released. Kazuhiko's Shikai is constantly expelling reiatsu. This reiatsu is positive in nature and has a -very- slight healing effect. It very slightly makes those around him feel better. A crick in the neck stops bothering you. An ache doesn't throb. And your day seems just a bit brighter. All of Kazuhiko's Zanpaktou abilities involve his unusual amount of Spiritual Pressure and expulsion.
Shikai Overall Ability: Hyakujuunoou acts as Kazuhiko's missing arm. Being that it is a part of his soul, it reacts as fast (or faster) than his normal mortal arm. Hyakujuunoou has the ability to expel raw positive reiatsu into the world. Much like the Sanrei Glove can expel a soul from a body, Hyakujuunoou can expel Reiatsu from those it strikes.
A blow from Hyakujuunoou deals no material or physical damage. Instead, it strikes at the opponent's reiatsu! This ability reduces the opponent's ability to hold reiatsu. Should their capacity become 0, they are knocked unconscious. The components within the fist and channels along the arm glow with radiant white Reiatsu when making attacks or using techniques. Contact does not necessarily need to be made with a person's body for this effect to occur. Instances such as striking a Zanpaktou, which is an extension of the user's soul, could also trigger this effect provided it was still connected to the user.
By the same principle, it can also potentially defuse the abilities of their reiatsu-based properties. For instance, successful implementation would cause a Reiatsu-infused slash would become -just- a slash. Whereas a blast of cutting reiatsu would clash and be dispersed provided its class is not of the appropriate level to overpower it.
Lastly, Kazuhiko's Reiatsu is impossible to keep inside his body, becoming a sphere of influence equal to a 50 foot radius centered upon himself. This is the same leak of reiatsu that makes it impossible for him to hide his presence.
Mechanics: Touches from Kazuhiko's Shikai reduce the target's reiatsu capacity by 10% or a flat 250, whichever is higher(this effect is limited to once per post). Further, striking a Reiatsu based ability can nullify it if the cost paid is less than 250 if even to his Shikai class, 500 if weaker, or 100 if higher. If the attack is not completely nullified, it is weakened instead. These numbers are doubled in Bankai. It does not effect the physical component of the attack. For instance, if a rock is fired with Reiatsu, touching it will not suddenly undo the kinetic force generated by Reiatsu.
Bankai Overall Ability: Firstly, Kazuhiko's Bankai gives him the ability to fly. His cute angel wings are functional, allowing him to ascend heavenward. He is now able to expel his Reiatsu over a greater area. He is able to manipulate that Reiatsu in a number of ways. By default, however, it is an extension of his will for peace and his overwhelming desire to prevent the loss of life. Kazuhiko's sphere of influence becomes a 500 ft. radius in this form. Kazuhiko's Reiatsu Draining Effect increases to 20% per touch or 400 flat Reiatsu, whichever is higher. This ability also allows Kazuhiko to fly. Ontop of that, Reiatsu costs are increased by 100%, becoming 150% after two posts of sustained exposure, and 200% after three posts of sustained exposure. Further, Reiatsu is drained at a steady rate per post for those within his sphere of influence. This drain is based on differences in OS.
50% of Kazuhiko's OS 100 Reiatsu lost per post.
50~100%: 75 per post.
101~150%: 50 per post.
151+%: Immunity to aura.
While in this form he still has the ability to use the Reiatsu damaging abilities of Hyakujuunoou, though now he is able to utilize it with any part of his body. This gives him a noticeable glow of radiant white giving him an even more intensely angelic appearance.
Zanpakuto Techniques:
Hyakujuunoou Houkou (Beast King's Roar) - Kazuhiko causes a brief build-up of Reiatsu in his Shikai before firing it out in a burst of pure Reiatsu. Those struck by it are put under the effect of Hyukujuunoou, which is to say their Reiatsu is sapped/diffused. Being hit by it feels like being hit by a strong gust of freezing cold wind.
Hyakujuunou Honnou (Beast King's instinct) - Kazuhiko focuses on his inherent ability to contain his Reiatsu. With this ability, Kazuhiko is able to use his spiritual pressure in place of his senses in order to detect attacks that disturb the particles of reiatsu around him. These particles exist in a 50ft radius around him and are the same types of particles that prevent the permanent release user from hiding their reiatsu.
Jikei (Mercy/Love) - This ability is available only in Bankai. Kazuhiko's Hyakujuunou Honnou Reiatsu aura gains the effect of healing. This effect is universal, it does not distinguish between ally and enemy, including Kazuhiko himself. Because of the exertion this technique utilizes it costs 400 reiatsu per post. This Aura is stronger than High Speed Regeneration, able even to heal organ damage. This effect can be interrupted by forcing Kazhuhiko to move.
Individuals with immunity to Kazuhiko's aura via OS may spend 100 Reiatsu to still receive its effects in full.
Tenbatsu (Wrath of God) - This ability is only available in Bankai. Kazuhiko's Reiatsu aura gains the effect of an advanced red anti-healing aura. Those within the aura find themselves suddenly suffering a sudden emergence of wounds. Like the stigmata, their flesh begins to tear, gouges begin to reappear. Since Kazuhiko aims to incapacitate rather than kill, the wounds created will often mirror past non-lethal injuries, or otherwise create random injuries that, while painful, will not appear in lethal spots such as across the neck. (Optional Effect) Narratively, these wounds may be some suffered in the past, or wounds that have already been healed in this encounter. This is an optional engagement with this ability and should only be used to enhance storytelling.
The anti-healing effect causes 4 wounds to open every post. This effect is reduced by 1 for every point in damage recovery that an affected character has. Furthermore, this effect reduces Pain Tolerance of all within the field by 2 (But not below 0). This ability does not distinguish between ally and enemy, including Kazuhiko himself.
50% of Kazuhiko's OS: 4 wounds per post.
50~100%: 3 wounds.
101~150%: 2 wounds.
151+%: Immunity to aura.

-History-
Birthplace: Tokyo, Japan
Current Residence: Squad 4 Barracks
Memorable Figures:
Fuuko: Kazuhiko's sister in life and death.
Raion: Former Captain and Academy instructor. Raion encouraged Kazuhiko to pursue the Shinigami Life, and was crucial in his education.
History:
Kazuhiko's life began as a simple one. He lived free of tumult and was nurtured by the loving affections of his parents and sister. While he was never a quiet boy, he was always happy and kind, even if he wasn't the most well-behaved. He seemed destined for an average if not boring fate. However, his life was forever changed at the age of 7.
Due to her wild lifestyle, Fuuko, Kazuhiko's sister; found herself in the care of the law. Ever dutiful, Kazuhiko's parents rushed to bail her out. En route, they were involved in a grisly car accident that took both the lives of the young boy's parents. Kazuhiko sustained terrible and life-threatening injuries. Paramedics were able to stabilize him long enough to get him to the hospital. There, Kazuhiko was placed in a medically induced coma due to the severity of his trauma.
Miraculously, Kazuhiko awoke two weeks later. The doctors called his recovery miraculous and attributed it to an uncanny will to live. Over the next few years, with the loving care of his new guardian and sister, Kazuhiko made a nearly full recovery. He suffered no detectable brain damage and appeared to retain his zest for life and bright personality! But in order to save his life, his right arm was amputated from the shoulder down.
This saddled his sister Fuuko with the care of a young, disabled boy. Stoically, his sister endured and they grew closer. No amount of vigilance, however, could pay for the insurmountable debt brought on by his medical bills. Fuuko relied on the streets, as she often had, and had turned to loan sharks to ensure her brother's extensive medical bills could be paid.
Kazuhiko and Fuuko lived on their own and she did her best to ensure that he was unaware of the burden placed upon their family. And Kazuhiko continued to live a life free of tumult. His sister worked tirelessly and worked through hardship, paying down the debt honestly. He would often come home from school to find his sister asleep, exhausted from a series of consecutive shifts. He helped where he could, ensuring meals were cooked for the two of them, and that she always woke up with a blanket over her and clean clothes for the next work day.
Their life was difficult but despite the adversity, they had endured. Kazuhiko was seventeen at this point and preparing to enter university. His ambition was to become a doctor, like the ones who had saved his life. But life was about to take one more tragic swerve.
On the way home from school on an otherwise normal Friday afternoon, Kazuhiko was kidnapped. He was taken hostage and held ransom by the loan sharks to whom their family owed money. They had grown dissatisfied with the consistent, but pitiful payments they were receiving and intended to scare Fuuko into paying in larger sums. Their attempts to scare Fuuko worked. They had backed the family into a corner, but they couldn't have predicted how wrong the negotiations would go.
The demands were impossible to meet. And Fuuko, scared of losing her brother, barked back with bravado and threats of her own. Intent on making a point, one of the kidnappers leveled their pistol on Fuuko. Kazuhiko hadn't known that their intent was to injure her with a shot in the arm... But even if he had, nothing would have stopped him from protecting his sister.
The gun went off. And when the pistol smoke cleared, Kazuhiko was left dead, shot through the heart.
Kazuhiko arrived at Soul Society and was handed a ticket. He resided in the relatively peaceful district North Rukongai Distrct 14. It was here that he took up work at one of Raion's taverns. His cooking skills from his mortal life as well as his cheery disposition made him well-suited for work in such an establishment. Raion, a former shinigami captain encouraged Kazuhiko to pursue life as a shinigami after hearing that he was looking for someone.
Kazuhiko was thrilled to find that his sister was also, in fact, enrolled in the academy. Together, the two took on the rigors of shinigami training. And upon graduation, both enlisted in the fourth division. Fuuko had been adamant about joining the 11th division, which would have been far more suited to her mannerisms and skillset. However, Kazuhiko was resistant. Stating that he wanted to use his responsibility as a Shinigami to save people, not hurt them. Fearful of how the soft-hearted and naive Kazuhiko would fare by himself, she joined him.
