(OOC: Sorry about the wait. Holidays and whatnot.)
“Carriage of thunder, bridge of a spinning wheel!” At the command, Izuchi immediately started casting the Kido, attempting to empower it with the chant rather than simply firing it off. The abomination seemed to flinch at the words—clearly it understood the two men speaking, and what was coming. Indeed, it suddenly lunged at Izuchi, its elongated arms seeming to stretch across the gap as it moved. And with such speed! The creature practically blurred in its motion, as fast as a Shunpo, even before Tala could move to intercept. Its massive, clawed hands flailed out haphazardly, almost blindly, yet they struck at the Shinigami, raking across his face and chest.
Interrupted, Izuchi staggered back as blood flowed freely from deep cuts in his chest. The gash on his face had come dangerously close to his eye, but had fallen just short, leaving a sheet of red flowing down his cheek. Saya immediately rushed to his side, a glow of healing Reiatsu around her hand. Meanwhile, the abomination had stumbled after its sudden motion, its arms flailing and that same warped cry ringing through the clearing. “Aaaaaaurrrrrrrrrrrssss! Aauurs, aauurs, aauursssssss!” Its limbs continued to swing in random directions, as if to lash out at anything that decided to draw near.
The distraction was still enough for Tala to fire off his own spell, however, with the incantation included; the six rods of light appeared, creating a ring around the abomination as it stepped back. For a moment, the spell held, and the creature was paralyzed, unable to move. Yet it was only a moment; even with the incantation, Tala’s Reiatsu Strength was insufficient to hold the creature long enough. Its own spiritual strength was weak enough that it couldn’t just shrug off the technique, but its body wasn’t; upon straining and flexing its twisted body, it managed to shatter the spell about it after only a few seconds. The spiritual energy dispersed, wasted, and the monster was free.
This time, however, it turned to Tala, and he would get a better look at its face. Those emerald green eyes seemed to stare at him even as they secreted some sort of fluid that flowed down the creature’s face. Its teeth scraped together with every movement of its twisted jaws, and in the space between them, a battered, gashed tongue flickered with every cry it made. It hesitated, rather than striking immediately. The monster’s arms raised up, as if to protect its head and face, those impossibly long fingers and claws extended fully before it. “Aaaauurrrrsssss… Aaalaaaa… aaaaaursss...”
It was a moment of hesitation and weakness, and an opening to strike. If Tala was going to attack, this was the best time to do so.
The monstrous wolf stared down at Rafael, his eyes seeming to glow with an inner flame that ignited everything it saw. He lifted his head, tilting it slightly as a grin broke his muzzle; a cocky, arrogant expression that said that he felt unthreatened by the smaller feline. One hand clenched into a fist, the muscles in the arm above flexing, and Rafael would hear the crack of knuckles and joints, each one popped in time. It was a casual, almost languid motion; indeed, the beast seemed to be unconcerned by the panther standing up to him.
“His… father? Hah, don’t make me laugh.” The wolf smirked broadly. “A ‘father’ implies familial connection beyond biology, and I can assure you that the whelp is nothing more than an experiment. A simple fusion of these primitive beasts with my superior genetics to see if I’d create something closer to myself, albeit with much more strength. What a surprise to see that he inherited nothing but their form! Weak, pitiful, pathetic… honestly, I would have given him up as a failure.”
“But then I sensed his power, his latent strength. That pup possesses a spiritual energy that could surpass my own! Who’d have thought these pathetic animals could have helped whelp such a potent soul?”
With that, the beast raised one hand, almost lazily, pointed towards Rafael’s throat. “Geki.” That last word was spoken suddenly, a command rather than a statement, and a flash of red light would erupt between them. The Bakudo was fast, and likely would leave Rafael completely paralyzed. The wolf’s spiritual strength was immense! Yet as the demonic creature strode past Rafael, the panther would find the spell lifting after about ten seconds. It was enough for the wolf to pass him and make his way towards the camp’s entrance, passing through the gate even as his captive was freed; clearly, it had been a warning, and not an attempt to trap Rafael.
At the entrance, the wolf paused, and glanced back. “Now begone, kitten. I don’t feel like wasting my power on such a pathetic little creature. Run while you can, and hide in your world of safe ignorance. And remember my name when the monster I create rips it to pieces: I am Fenrir, and I will make that pathetic wretch into this world’s worst nightmare.” With that, he continued to stride into the encampment.
((OOC: I am withholding Reiatsu costs for now for cinematic purpose, but if it comes to open battle I will adjust it accordingly.))
