Toki knelt down next to his grandfather's tombstone with a sad smile on his face. He set flowers and clasped his hands in prayer "Hello, grandfather...I hope you're resting peacefully. I'm doing fine...so are mom and dad. They miss you as much as I do...probably even more." He said with a sigh. "I'm still trying my best to study those talismans you told me about. You told me benevolent spirits can take residence in them and provide good fortune...well...I hope you were right. They served you very well in life..." He pinched the bridge of his nose and tried to keep himself composed.
"My studies are going well. Managed to pass the semester with all As. Pretty good, huh?" He said. A chill ran down his spine suddenly as he stood up and looked around the cemetery. The sun was setting, and he swore he saw strange shadowy figures flitting about. Toki gulped slightly and broke into a nervous sweat. Eventually, the oppressive, ominous atmosphere began to fade, and Toki let out a heavy gasp. He didn't realize he had held his breath the entire time. He wiped the sweat from his brow and looked back at the tombstone.
"You're looking out for me...aren't you?" He said, before he lit some incense for the grave. He prayed one last time and stood up to leave, thumbing prayer beads in his hand to keep himself calm. "Something's going to happen soon..." He muttered to himself before he left the cemetery to make his way home.

-Appearance-
Height/Weight: 6'4"/200 pounds
Physical Description:
Toki has mid-length, wavy, dark brown hair. He has a somewhat dark complexion with piercing light blue eyes. He is tall with an athletic build from a lifetime of studying Karate at his family dojo. There is a small vertical scar across the left side of his lip from a fight he got into in high school, something he isn't exactly proud to admit. His casual attire usually consists of a black t-shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and either a dark blue light or heavy jacket with fluffy trim depending on the weather. Either jacket will have his dojo's motto embroidered on the back: "Gentle Soul, Steel Fist."
He always seems to walk with a calm, reserved kind of grace with light footsteps and a quiet presence even though his height makes him very noticeable among other people. Accessories he wears include a pair of glasses that are more a fashion statement than anything else, and a long, blue scarf embroidered with stars and moon shapes. His mother made it for him, and he cherishes it greatly. He carries a backpack containing some of his dojo gear, as well as stacks of paper for practicing his calligraphy and origami skills. Lastly, he has Buddhist prayer beads with a moon motif his grandfather personally made for him. As the last memento of his grandfather, he is fiercely protective of it.
The scarf his mother made for him is expertly crafted. Tightly woven and extremely soft to the touch. Its dark blue cloth is adorned with star and moon patterns. Along the back of the scarf, the moon phases are depicted going down it. The sheer craftsmanship is nothing short of masterful. Dangling at the end are crystalline stars and crescent moons. While it may seem over the top for a simple accessory, Toki is intensely sentimental to the scarf and feels it completes his look.
His grandfather carved the prayer beads Toki carries. Each one is meticulously detailed, with the first bead displaying the kanji for 'Moon.' When meditating, his grandfather taught him to imagine each bead as a phase of the moon, and slowly going through each one to destress and make sense of the world around him.
Toki's jackets all share the dark blue coloration and white fluffy trim along the collar, along with the dojo motto. They end with a coat-like split at the back, giving a bizarrely sophisticated air.
Toki has a very calm expression, that shifts between a gentle neutral to a soft smile. When angry, his brow furrows slightly into a piercing, intense glare, but otherwise tries his best to retain his normal composure. Some describe his glares as being enough to cause blood to run cold, especially to those who aren't used to seeing Toki angry or otherwise thought he was incapable of being angry.
If there's any word to describe Toki's build, it would be athletic. His martial discipline has trained and toned his body to a fine point and he has the knowledge to use it to its fullest. People are oftentimes surprised by his build since at first glance he seems rather thin and non-threatening. Seeing others surprised by his build is both somewhat embarrassing and kind of amusing for Toki, as he doesn't really think anything of his strength most of the time. It's just a part of him that he trained throughout his life, though he would be lying if he said he didn't hold some pride for that fact.
Faceclaim is Taion from Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Any differences in appearance listed above.

-Personality-
Dislikes:
Alcohol: Toki simply doesn't like the taste of alcohol. It's too strong for him, and doesn't enjoy the impairment it can impart on people.
Nihilism: An optimist at heart, Toki dislikes the notion that everything is insignificant or that hope isn't worth pursuing. He understands that bad things happen for no reason and sometimes there's nothing you can do. Nothing, except push forward, and grasp at any fading ember of hope, clawing your way forward if you have to. He is one to never give up.
Unworthy Authority: While this could come across as arrogance on his part, Toki has a specific ideal for leadership. A leader is a respectful person who uses their position and power to the betterment of those around them. Anyone who abuses their strength to crush those they deem beneath them will instantly earn Toki's ire.
Hollows: Though Toki views them as sort of tragic beings. Driven by uncontrollable hunger and animalistic fury, he dislikes their circumstances more than the Hollows themselves, but will not hesitate to combat them for the sake of protecting others.
Prolonged Time Alone: Despite being perfectly comfortable spending time on his own, he needs some kind of connection with other people after some time, whether it be in person or online. He gets anxious and upset when he hasn't spoken with someone in a long time.
Likes:
Dango: He will never turn down a chance to eat some dango, especially if it's a new flavor. He's known to frequent local specialty food stalls to try out various flavors. His personal favorites are matcha and strawberry dango.
Tea: The scent, warmth, and taste of a good cup of tea will almost always calm Toki down if he's having a bad day. If he has a chance for tea and snacks, he'll take it. This stems from his family always ending martial arts sessions with a good blend of tea to relax the muscles.
Mythology and History: Fascinated with world history and mythology, he actually studies it extensively during his free time. Though given strange events, he begins to wonder how many myths are actually true.
Writing: An aspiring author and poet, Toki spends some of his free time jotting down novel ideas and poems. He's a bit shy about this particular skill of his, so he tends to keep quiet about it.
Fiction: In all forms. He loves hearing new stories, whether it be from books, comics, tv shows, or games. He firmly believes storytelling to be one of humankind's greatest gifts.
Video Games: Keeps the reflexes sharp, and the sheer creativity on display in some games is more than enough to speak to Toki on an emotional level. Likes all kinds of genres as long as the game is fun.
Martial Arts: Raised by a family that owns a karate dojo, it's only natural that Toki enjoys and has pride in martial arts.
The Moon and Starry Skies: He feels at peace gazing up at moon, especially during a cool evening. He enjoys finding a tall hill to do some stargazing from time to time and enjoys meditating under the night sky. His love of the night sky are why he has so many accessories associated with it.
Flaws:
Overthinker: Toki tends to severely overthink issues and often paralyzes himself when too many choices are presented. He'll often consider the ramifications of every choice before outright committing, something he is aware is an issue, but struggles with finding a solution.
Self-Critical: To a fault. Whenever Toki feels he's failed in some way, he sulks about it a lot and tends to viciously deconstruct his accomplishments. He tends to not be proud of himself afterwards and apologizes for it afterwards.
Tunnel Vision: While this could be a good thing in some circumstances, since his focus on whatever has his attention is so strong, it also serves as a major disadvantage in certain situations. He struggles to see the big picture of a situation and can miss important details if he's not careful.
Speaks His Mind: Whenever he doesn't agree with something on a moral level, he will not hold his tongue, no matter who it is he's speaking to. This ties into his dislike of people he feels are unworthy of a position of authority.
Emotional: Also one of his strengths, but sometimes Toki can be devastated emotionally. It takes him quite some time to get over a sad event, and struggles with focusing on what needs to be done during these periods. If sufficiently encouraged, however, he'll push through.
Habits:
Rubbing the Back of His Head: Whenever he's nervous, bashful, or idling, Toki will somethings rub the back of his head. If stressed, he may grip his hair a bit in frustration.
Biting His Knuckle: When very stressed, he may bite down lightly on his knuckle, but never hard enough to actually hurt.
Speaking Haiku: Toki tends to mutter Haiku in certain situations, which he tends to be embarrassed about. It helps him decompress after a particularly stressful or triumphant situation.
Counting Prayer Beads: He picked up this habit from his grandfather. Whenever he's contemplating something or thoughtful, he'll count prayer beads to stay focused.
Writing Notes: Whenever inspired, he'll pull out a notebook and start keeping record of recent events that may inspire future writings.
Fears:
Losing more Family: Toki was devastated by the loss of his grandfather, especially considering the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death. He constantly worries about his family's safety, as if there's something after them. What that something is, he's not sure, but lately he feels as if he's been watched by something he can't see.
Failure: The fear of failing at something hurts Toki to the very core. Combined with his tendency to overthink things, he holds himself to impossible standards and sulks when he fails to meet them.
Rejection: The idea that no one wants him around is petrifying to Toki. He wants to be useful and strong enough to help others the best he can, but the nagging feeling that is just isn't enough is always just beneath the surface.
Bees: Or rather, stinging insects in general. Rather mundane all things considered, but the mixture of buzzing and their erratic movement make him extremely uncomfortable and he tries his best to avoid them as much as possible.
Goals:
Discover what happened to his grandfather: His grandfather's death was never solved...one day he was found brutally murdered but there was no evidence anywhere that pointed to a killer and it was too vicious to even be considered suicide. This never sat well with Toki, so he wants to find out the truth behind what happened, even if it means putting himself in danger to do so. He will not allow this to happen to anyone else.
Gain the strength to protect: He's still not entirely sure why he has the powers he does, but he will cultivate them to the best of his abilities. He feels it would be irresponsible to completely neglect what he was given. If what he has can help defend others from whatever it was that killed his grandfather, he will learn to harness it.
Improve his Writing Skills: When all is said and done, Toki's ambition is to be an author. He believes in the power of words to inspire and uplift people, and wishes to push that skill to its limits to make people smile with a good story, regardless of the medium.
Alignment: Passive Good
Overall Personality:
Kind-hearted, altruistic, and overall friendly, Toki strives to be someone who can at the very least get along with most people. He would rather avoid arguments or fights but won't hesitate if it comes down to such things. A life of martial arts and study have left him with a disciplined, if not somewhat high strung attitude. He's a perfectionist through and through, though it's a personality flaw he's eager to solve since he really dislikes the emotional pain it brings him.
He adheres to many philosophies passed down from his parents and grandfather. Those with strength must use it to defend themselves and others from those who would do them harm. It is the duty of the strong to nurture those who have yet to find their own strength. He believes in the capacity for people to be good and to redeem themselves, though is not so naive as to let cruel deeds go unpunished. He will fight his enemies with a fierce determination when the situation calls for action, though will do his best to talk down a situation before it escalates to that point.
Toki is an extremely sentimental and emotional person, freely expressing his emotions as they come. He is also rather empathetic, or at least tries to be. He wants to understand people, their emotions, and why they're the way they are. While he may come off as slightly overbearing, his worries and connections with others come from a place of good intentions.
Naturally curious, he will likely get into long conversations with others involving the history of certain organizations and how they may have changed in recent times, if at all. He wants to understand all he can about the world, both this one and this new world he's stumbled into. He's not one to normally take things at face value and wants to formulate his own beliefs and thoughts on how to handle certain situations. He also simply enjoys getting to know other people, their cultures, and what their goals and aspirations are so that he may better help them if he is able.

-Powers-
Fighting Style:
Raised a martial artist, Toki is capable of adding his martial prowess to his spiritual abilities. The disciplined focus allows him to direct his Fullbring in a variety of ways with a precision that will only improve with time. Whether it be augmenting his physical strikes with his Fullbring's assistance or manipulating his spiritual energies in various ways. Toki is about precise, swift, and decisive power and being able to withstand the retaliation.
Toki is an expert in the Kyokushin style of Karate and uses it to great effect. As a result, he is just as capable of fighting up close as he is from a distance. Each hit is enhanced by the properties of his Fullbring, giving him more powerful strikes than he normally would have. Since he's more used to fighting humanoid opponents, fighting the more monstrous beings of Hueco Mundo and others might take some getting used to.
As for ranged capabilities, Toki's Fullbring can act as remote 'drones' of sorts and be charged with his spiritual energy. When activated, his Fullbring also allows him to release strands of spiritual energy in wire-like form from his fingers, which he can intensify to cut through, hamper, and slash through foes at a distance. As a result, Toki has several mediums with which to disperse his spiritual pressure, giving him roughly 50 feet of range in a bubble around him.
Main Fullbring Appearances:
Legacy takes the form of Toki's prayer beads which have all detached separately and float independently. With the beads as the core, shimmering, paper-like energy with talisman writings manifest and flutter around Toki as butterfly-like drones. Toki's spiritual energy becomes more manifest once his Fullbring is active, appearing as glowing lines on his skin that spread up his arm and to his fingertips. They glow a pale blue and visibly crackle when extended from his body. The talismans can mold and reshape, augmented by Toki's reiatsu to suit different purposes. They can serve as remote conduits to fire off energy, harden to steel-like sharpness and slash enemies, and even combine to be Shikigami puppeteered by Toki's spirit wires.
Main Fullbring Name: Legacy
Main Fullbring Level 1 Property: Toki's Fullbring empowers his spiritual energy and makes it visibly manifest as markings on his body. The talismans that form from the prayer beads are capable of allowing Toki to direct his energy through them in a variety of ways. They seem linked to the markings on his body in some way, as he can focus on one or multiple talismans to activate his techniques from. This leaves them very versatile as mobile turrets, or more elaborate formations of reiatsu rebounding from talisman to talisman to repeatedly strike and disorient. The more abilities Toki learns, the more applications he can experiment with. He can also project his reiatsu as wires from his fingers that can entangle foes, slash at them, and crush by tightening the wires with his fingers in elaborate gestures.
Costs: Creating the wires themselves costs 75 Reiatsu and have a durability of 1.5x his Spiritual Pressure. The speed of the wires attacks matches his Spiritual Pressure. For each Talisman his abilities rebound from, increase the cost by 75 Reiatsu. However, firing an ability from one he's focused on costs no additional Reiatsu.
Main Fullbring Level 2 Properties: Toki gains the ability to merge his talismans into one large Shikigami that acts as his guardian and is manipulated by his spirit threads. The shikigami created resembles a large ronin with rabbit-like features that battles with a katana made from hardened talisman paper. The Shikigami stands roughly 8 feet tall and can move anywhere within 100 feet of Toki at a speed of 400. Its attack strength matches Toki's Spiritual Pressure. When an enemy is struck by the Shikigami, some of the papers slide off the katana, only to reform instantly. The papers that slide off stick to the enemy and manifestations of Toki's wires shoot out to surfaces nearby, or wrap around the enemy in an attempt to bind them for 2 posts.
One additional thing Toki is able to do at this level is attach talismans to allies to provide a shield with a durability matching Toki's Spiritual Pressure. These shields react and grow in diameter in response to an attack, redirection or blunting the attack.
Costs: Activating the Shikigami's bind costs 50 Reiatsu. Each shield Talisman costs 75 Reiatsu.
Secondary Fullbring Appearances: Toki's secondary Fullbring is what he calls Tsukuyomi Veil. It appears around him as a set of cloth-like armor derived from his scarf. It envelops his body, offering protection. The cloth is silvery white with dark blue accent, and Toki's eyes glow brightly behind the face mask. The sleeves are large, housing a massive store of reiatsu that can conjure more talismans. At the ends of the sleeves, his spiritual pressure create a fluttering, feather-like flame that trails behind his movements gracefully. At the sides of his head, the energy forms a light blue flame resembling rabbit ears.
Secondary Fullbring Properties: Toki's scarf wraps around his body, forming a protective cloth armor. Evoking an almost divine appearance and masked face, this armor offers boosted defense for Toki, he can unleash smaller talismans from the sleeves that serve as more immediate attacks with a single charge of reiatsu. The armor allows Toki more direct influence over his reiatsu and lets him see spiritual pressure and their trajectories. However, this does not allow him to pierce Stealth abilities unless he has the appropriate abilities and strength to do so.
Tsukuyomi Veil has a durability of 2x Toki's Spiritual Pressure and grants Toki a 1.5x increase to his Energy Sensory Stat.

-History-
Birthplace: Karakura Town
Current Residence: Karakura Town
Memorable Figures: Grandfather, Sohei. Sohei was a kindhearted man and great inspiration to Toki throughout his life. A superstitious man, he would often overprepare with rituals and prayers for good fortune before doing many things, and always hinted at an exciting past that he couldn't speak of. He was known to dabble in ancient practices, creating talismans and wards, which he would teach to Toki on occasion. Tragically, Sohei died under mysterious circumstances some years ago, and the mystery was never solved.
History: Toki was born to Yosuke and Ryoko Akiyama, who both run a Karate dojo on the outskirts of Karakura Town. He lived a fairly normal life, spending his days going to school, visiting his grandfather and practicing Karate. On his off time, he was always rather introverted, someone who would rather stay home, read books and play video games.
He has a great relationship with his relatives, and his mother often fusses over his safety. For the longest time, he figured she was being overprotective, which didn't really bother him. She never told him about the time she came under attach by a mysterious creature while pregnant, which left a mark on her and her child. Still, he was growing up healthy, and as he got older the less she worried.
His grandfather, Sohei, was a major influence on his life, teaching him mythology, meditation techniques, and taught him ancient calligraphy used in crafting talismans. He found this fascinating and studied up on ancient practices on his own time. The two of them would discuss philosophy and mythology. Sohei especially enjoyed telling stories of yokai. The walk to Sohei's house became an almost daily occurrence for Toki as he had much to learn from him.
One of Toki's greatest shames happened during high school. A bully had been picking on him and one of this friends relentlessly all year, and one day Toki snapped and got into a fight. Knowing how to fight, he knocked him out almost effortlessly, only getting a small scar on his lip for his trouble. However, he got in trouble with the school and was suspended for a time. During this time, his parents and grandfather offered him guidance and comfort. They didn't yell at him, didn't blame him...they just wanted him to learn from this. He has a responsibility with his skills and if he wasn't careful he could easily abuse them for his own gain. He took this lesson to heart and strived to better himself mentally as well as physically.
Several years later, Toki was now in college. He stayed in dorms, but got a call one day with tragic news. Sohei had been murdered. He almost dropped his phone upon hearing the news. Sohei? Murdered? He rushed home and spent time with his family, mourning the loss of such an important figure in his life. No one knows what happened to him...but they said despite the viciousness in which he was killed, Sohei died with a smile on his face. The murder would linger on in Toki's mind. Who, or what, could have done this? One day, he would discover the truth.
As he continued his studies, he began to notice more and more about a world that wasn't quiet the same as the one he was used to. He began to sense things that he had never seen before. Though no matter how much he looked, he couldn't find any leads on this phenomena. Much of the research pointed to occult research sites and many unverified sources, which bothered Toki to no end. On top of that, the prayer beads from his grandfather began to glow and tremble slightly in response to some of these events. This was enough to convince him that this was connected to what happened to his grandfather somehow.
Despite the pain in his heart, he had to live on. He would continue cultivating his martial and writing skills, go to school, and live his life. What exactly that will entail, no one can be for certain. Whatever the future hold, he'll face it the best he can.
