“Attack is the secret of defense, defense is the planning of an attack.”
Technique Name: Critical Insight
Class: 6
Technique Type: Analytical
Usable By (Technique is available to which races?): Any
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect): In focusing on a single target, the user sharply attunes their reiatsu into a new form of ‘touch’, though at a distance. As with water enveloping a swimming animal, each motion they make the water ripples and reacts to, so too does the user’s reiatsu closely wrap an opponent so that each tensing of muscle and flaring of their own reiatsu become a sensory input for the user at the speed of touch.
With this extra sensory perception the user develops a mechanism for analysis that goes far beyond any ordinarily possible to them, as analysis of information is only of a fidelity allowed by the mechanisms by which the information was gathered.
Each time the enemy performs a technique while being observed in this manner, the user gains insight into every machination of their opponent in the performance of that technique. Subconscious ‘tells’ that an enemy displays in the moments before a given technique becomes increasingly obvious, reducing the speed and instinct the user requires in order to react to future uses of that technique.
At learned, this progresses to a zenith of 7 uses of a technique under observation before the user of this technique can recognize the moments immediately preceding it and accurately predict the use and aim of the technique emerging. With a step technique as an example, the user would not only know that the opponent is about to perform that step technique, but also exactly where they intend on going with it, and thus making the enemy incredibly vulnerable to accurate predictive attack.
At proficient this drops to 5 uses. At mastered, 3.
How to use technique (How is it activated?): Let out an emission of reiatsu in a steady pressure until it envelops your opponent. Maintain this emission over time and observe what is felt through it.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc): This technique must be constantly active to not only observe an opponent, but to also take advantage of its benefits. As the observations are made through a new sensory input, the user may only take advantage of the observations if they continue to maintain this new sense.
Only works against a single target at a time. Effects may be avoided nearly entirely by using a wide variety of techniques. As this sense is not a natural one in which the user has at all times, and deals with very subtle details that feed instinctual reaction, committing an opponent’s ‘tells’ gathered from this technique to long term memory is not possible. In a subsequent fight with the same opponent, the process is repeated rather than immediately having the benefits gained in a previous encounter.
Additionally, this technoqur may be countered with points in stealth. Each point in stralth the enemy has increases the post count required for this technique to reach it's maximum efficacy. However, either points in battle focus or anti-stealth can counter this at a 1 to 1 ratio. This uses the higher of battle focus or anti-stealth rather than the sum of both.

Reserved? (Yes/No) (Can others use your technique, or just your character?): Yes. Can be taught to others in a JT.

Technique Name: Phantom Flare
Class: All that the user is capable of learning. For TTP purposes this is a class 5 technique.
Technique Type: Misdirection
Usable By (Technique is available to which races?): Any
Technique Element: N/A
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect): Ordinarily when a technique that utilizes reiatsu is performed there is a flaring of reiatsu that occurs. For instance, when performing shunpo reiatsu pools and flares at the feet.
What this technique does is utilize or distort reiatsu flares for misdirection and confusion. At learned the user can use Phantom Flare in two ways.
The first is that they can spend 10% of a desired technique class' rei cost to flare their reiatsu in any manner desired, making it appear that a technique of corresponding strength is being used.
The second is that they can increase the cost of any technique by 25% in order to flare their reiatsu wildly when performing the technique, obscuring any information the opponent might ordinarily gain from the flare save for that a technique is being performed. With the Shunpo example, reiatsu would not only flare at the user's feet but generally flare across their body in a diffuse manner, concealing the technique's purpose.
At proficient, the user can create reiatsu flares that are displaced from their body for 25% cost of class out to a radius of 50 meters in any direction.
Mastery increases this range to 100 meters. This usage is further misdirection, allowing the user to provide diversionary information to conceal the true nature of the user's machinations.
How to use technique (How is it activated?): For normal uses, merely pressure out reiatsu with choice timing. For displaced use, compress reiatsu before projecting it and allowing it to decompress violently at another location.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc): This technique is useless against enemies with less than 50 ES. It is very limited in scope and requires good tactics to make use of.

Technique Name: Shared Prowess
Class: 6
Technique Type: Spiritual
Usable By (Technique is available to which races?): Shingami
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect): Some zanpakuto are capable of creating other weapons as a part of their release. This technique is a linking with one's zanpakuto spirit that allows the spirit to broaden the wielder understanding of Zanjutsu to apply to any weapon created by the zanpakuto.
In effect what this does is allow Zanjutsu weapon skill to be used for any weapon that is directly created by one's release. At learned a maximum skill of [1] is transferable, at proficient [2], and mastered [3].
How to use technique (How is it activated?): Open an intuitive telepathic link with the Zanpakuto spirit. No words need be exchanged if the spirit is willing, for it will share its skill and experience through instinctual input as if the skill truly belonged to the wielder.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc): Requires a zanpakuto release capable of making diverse weapon types to be useful. Only allows a maximum skill of [3] to be shared. Costs 50 rei per post it is used. When transferring 3 skill points to the desired weapon skill it costs 100 points per post instead.
