Name: Albin Xander Landry
Age of Death: 79
Real Age/Age of Appearance: 79/23
Birthday: January 27th
Blood Type: O-✦APPEARANCE⛧
Height: 6'0"/182 cm.
Weight: 165 lbs./74.8 kg.
Eye Color: Sky Blue
Hair Color: Silver{Faceclaim: Ain (Elsword)}
Physical Appearance:
Albin stands at six-foot even, and weighs in at one-hundred and sixty-five pounds of mostly muscle. He appears to be about twenty; a relative change from his previous incarnation within Camila Adaronde, a Shinigami long-since passed. The man's appearance doesn't exactly scream "physical fighter", despite him being quite close to that. His build is somewhat slim despite being aptly toned, and makes no note to show this off if he doesn't need to. His hair is predominantly silver in color, with turquoise streaks throughout his entire head of hair.
His ears have two simplistic earrings hanging from his lobes, each one shaped as a golden cone and hanging down to about the middle of his neck. Each earring houses a singular diamond-shaped crystal, turquoise in color and similar to the dyed portions of his hair. His wrists hold golden bracelets, and around his neck is a similarly golden necklace. Each of these pieces of jewelry also house the same crystals, and are made of pure 24k gold; Albin will have absolutely nothing but the best adorn his body, and won't stand for anything less than pure.
Albin's face is relatively simple, being completely clean of any scars or blemishes, and houses no hair whatsoever. If it weren't for the normally somewhat mature look his face normally has, he could be easily mistaken for someone much younger than he actually is. Especially when he's excited, Albin tends to take on a more childlike appearance to him, though this generally doesn't happen too too often. Regardless, though, his complexion is completely clear, from head to toe. The man holds no scars or anything across his entire body.
As far as his Shihakkusho goes, Albin tends to keep things relatively ornate; instead of something loose and baggy, it's almost as though his personal Shihakkusho is a few sizes too small, as it's rather form-fitting and doesn't flow all that much. Not only that, but this robe itself also has inlays of gold throughout the entire design, predominantly around the neck, at the sleeves, and around the bottom hem. A few bits of gold are sprinkled in throughout the uniform otherwise, but these are where the high concentrations of gold reside.
While not in a Shihakkusho, and in a Gigai, or some other form of clothing, Albin's choice of wear is nothing short of "regal". Generally choosing various tones of white and turquoise, his clothes consist of a standard dress shirt and dress pants, as well as a rather large overcoat with various different gold inlays across the collar, opening, and around the bottom edges. The coat itself hangs down to around his feet, and does have a hood on the back. On his hands are two dark brown gloves with an almost runic pattern on them.✦PERSONALITY⛧
Alignment: Neutral Good
Likes:
✦ His Squad - Albin very much enjoys his own Squad, and the work he does for Squad Thirteen. Given Camila's previous disposition toward the Squad, Albin's long-since sought to right the wrongs done to her by many of the Squad members, and seeks to get something better rising form the ashes in its place. He sees Squad Thirteen as his family, and will do anything he can to make sure that this family thrives.
✦ The Human World - Gas Station Slushies.
✦ Modern Technology - Albin very much enjoys modern technology. Even just with Soul Society tech, Albin can frequently be found on his Soul Pager, checking it to make sure that everything in the general vicinity is okay. That, and playing TETRIS on the device itself. He's found himself to be somewhat of an addict when it comes to monotonous games like TETRIS; he can't quite put his finger on why he enjoys them, but he does.
✦ Captain Ludwig - Ludwig Verrlicht is someone that holds a great deal of respect in Albin's own mind. The man has been through a lot, and generally just deserves better. Where he can, Albin is absolutely the person to do what he can in order to make sure that the man is doing relatively okay; whether that means taking up paperwork for him, or aiding in some other way, it matters not to Albin. He views the man like a sort of father, given his disposition toward Squad Thirteen as a whole; without Ludwig, none of this would be possible.
✦ Astrology - As his release might go to show, Albin has an innate love for outer space and the Zodiac. He's absolutely the type of person to subscribe to the idea that a person's traits is determined by the stars, and very much feels that way about himself. Though, it pains him that he was brought into the world in Hueco Mundo, forever unable to fully determine his Natal Chart.
✦ Astronomy - On the more scientific side of things, Albin also very much enjoys Astronomy. While not being exceedingly well-versed in the matter, he likes stars, and looking into outer space from the Human World. If he weren't in Squad 13, he'd absolutely find himself in the Twelfth Squad, doing what he could to explore the influence space has on Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and the Human World, as well as exploring various ways to exploit energy from stars and whatnot.
✦ Tarot - Finishing up with this theme, Albin's love for Astrology also finds itself moving over into the Tarot. While sure, it's not 100% correlated, there are very significant ties there that initially pulled him in, and further worked to cement his enjoyment over the concept. As a pastime, he'll find himself studying meanings behind cards, doing readings for himself and others that find themselves interested, and just generally finding a way to incorporate it into his life.
✦ Music - While not something huge, Albin does very much enjoy music. Occasionally others might finding him plugging in a cheap pair of earbuds into his Soul Pager in order to listen to music while training and working out. He'll listen to just about anything and everything he can get his hands on, but has a thorough enjoyment for classic rock, as well as heaver music. That said, he's got no real preference.
✦ Conflict - Albin enjoys combat. He enjoys being able to get into fights, and making use of the training that he tends to focus on. Albin has grown quite fond of his opportunities to show what he's learned against Hollows, Hellions, and whatnot. Wherever he can, he's going to make use of his abilities to fight to the best of his ability, in order to accomplish his goals.
✦ Aiding Others - Linking in with those goals, Albin enjoys being able to aid and protect those that he tends to care about. It doesn't matter whether or not they'd reciprocate the actions for Albin himself, but he'll still go out of his way in order to make sure friends and allies are forever safe.
Dislikes:
⛧ Zealotry - Albin has a significant distaste for those that remain blindly devoted to any cause. Whether it be Vandenreich, Shinigami, or some other group or organization, Albin cannot stand those that don't have the capacity to think for themselves on anything. It's frustrating to deal with in conversation, and can often lead to a fight between Albin and the individual in question.
⛧ Sleep - It's time spent being unproductive, and isn't a necessity for most spiritual beings. Those that feel the need to countlessly indulge in sleep are nothing more than lazy in Albin's mind. He's not the type to sleep very often, and will generally only do so if a situation calls for it; most of the time, this means through needing rest after being injured.
⛧ Silence - Something Albin has grown to hate after his time with Camila. Considering the girl's loud tendencies, Albin has grown accustomed to constantly having noise somewhere in the background, and dreads the sound of silence. In situations where nothing but silence occurs, Albin will do everything in his power in order to make noise to drown out the silence.
⛧ Solitude - Another thing that Albin had grown accustomed to with Camila was always having someone there, whether or not he likes that person though is a different story. Albin simply does not like being alone, however. Whether it's conversing with allies or hell, even getting into a fight with others at some point, Albin doesn't care; it's the fact that he's not alone that he enjoys.
⛧ Wycliff Mason - Albin has a huge amount of hate for this man. While sure, his feelings toward Camila were minimal at best, this man was the reason as to her defection, and the destroyed squad. Wycliff is the reason that Camila had been forced out of Seireitei, and the reason the two of them had been forced to deal with the hardships they did upon defection. If he gets the chance, he's going to exact his own form of justice upon this man, to make him pay for the hell that he was forced to endure in the past.
⛧ Hot Weather - Albin very much despises hot weather. If it were up to him, he'd be in cold weather 100% of the time. Thankfully his body temperature is a bit colder than normal, so he's able to keep herself cool somewhat easily, and is still able to wear thicker clothes should he desire despite the heat. All-in-all though, hot weather is too much for him.
⛧ Central 46 - Albin very much dislikes the Central 46. He doesn't like the fact that the entirety of Seireitei is run by a bunch of people with some fancy surnames. If it were up to him, those in charge would be there through sheer might and influence alone; it wouldn't be some title that'd be inherited, but instead worked for. The fact that people just inherit a role like that infuriates him.
⛧ Hollows - Albin doesn’t have an inherent hatred toward Hollows; instead, it’s more a level of sympathy, given the fact that he knows exactly what being a hollow is like. He enjoys doing what he can in order to purify hollows, making sure that those poor people pass on properly as opposed to spending their fate damned and Hueco Mundo like some of the other hollows that are out there. If he could purify those people too, he absolutely would.
⛧ Being Interrupted - Considering the man lives by the seat of his pants and has numerous projects that he likes to work on when he can, being interrupted during these times will upset and occasionally anger the him. For someone to just throw all regard for him or his work out the window will generally cause distaste from Albin, and might even provoke aggressive action depending on how they go about it. Best leave the guy be if he’s in the middle of his work.
⛧ Laziness - Albin is someone that values the hard work and dedication that took himself, and others around him to where they are now. It’s that level of dedication that Albin has grown to respect exponentially! That said, though, those with no work ethic, those that aren’t willing to pull their own weight, or those that are generally just lazy don't deserve any of that respect, and will generally receive nothing but scorn from him.
Habits:
✦ Fidgeting - Albin struggles with keeping still. If forced to keep still for more than two minutes, the man would fail horribly. He's constantly seen bouncing his feet, moving his body in some way, or doing something of the like in order to keep himself moving as much as he can. He couldn't explain why he's like that, but he is and doesn't really plan on changing that.
✦ Glutton - Being as combat-heavy as he is, Albin naturally loses a lot of weight fighting as often as he does. To make up for this fact, he's constantly eating. Bulking up in order to keep losing weight, repeating this process over and over again. Truthfully, the best time to talk to him is when he's having a meal; he'll be a lot less likely to ask for a fight, and less prone to getting angry over something stupid.
✦ Taking Up Missions - Albin very much enjoys the missions he's able to take on. He likes being able to purify hollows, and take on threats to Seireitei, but to an almost extreme amount; any time he sees a mission up that he could realistically take on, he'll drop what he's doing in order to jump on it. Doesn't matter what he's doing at the time; Soul Society needs something done, so he'll be the guy to do it!
✦ Coughing - Albin is a man that tends to cough quite a bit when nervous. It's a habit the man has long-since tried to break, especially since it could be loosely connected to his past with Camila; it was a habit that she tended to have herself, and has been one that Albin has since picked up in the meantime. It's something he'd like to break if he can, but is by no means worried about it.
✦ Correcting People - Albin seems to have a bit of a bad habit of correcting others when they're wrong on something. It doesn't even matter if what they're wrong over is consequential or not; he'll generally find herself correcting them at some point regardless of that fact. He tends to enjoy being right, and sees that as a reflection of his own intellect.
Flaws:
⛧ Aggressive Tendencies - Albin tends to find himself in a more aggressive emotional state than most; he'll be just a bit more prone to starting fights, a bit more attack-focused, and all of the like. This could generally be traced back to his time with Camila, and could possibly be due to her own spirit still living on in tandem with his own in some aspects, but not even he knows if this is true or not.
⛧ Acting On Impulse - Albin tends to find himself doing things before actively thinking them through most of the time. He's not the type to really formulate a plan if he doesn't need to, as he doesn't particularly enjoy them. As such, he's the type to just live by the seat of his pants, and do what he pleases whenever he likes. That doesn't mean he directly go against orders, only that there's no guarantee he'll follow them if he feels ignoring them would be inconsequential.
⛧ Provoking a Fight - Albin loves to fight. He's very much a fighter, always has been, and always will be. As such, he's the kind of person to ask everyone for a fight. Doesn't matter if they're friend, foe, or in-between, a friendly spar with his allies and bloody combat with his enemies brings him an adrenaline rush that he seems to absolutely live for.
⛧ Loud - Albin is a very loud man. He tends to shout as often as he can, unless a situation calls for a tremendous amount of quiet in order to get through. He can be stealthy when he wants to, but to make up for that fact, he tends to find himself going a bit overboard the rest of the time in how loud he's able to and constantly gets. Especially when everything else around him is quiet.
⛧ Emotional - As expected by someone that’s fairly aggressive, Albin is a very emotional man. He’s certainly able to keep herself calm a fairly decent bit of the time, but this could potentially end up being a huge problem for him later on; he falls heavily when it comes to provocation, and nine times out of ten will find himself acting out aggressively if someone tries to provoke him or something of the like.
Fears:
✦ Death - Effectively being a harbinger of death himself, Albin finds himself fearing the thought of death. Having experienced it considering his past and time with Camila, Albin very acutely fears the possibility of actually losing everything once more, and being thrown into the Soul Cycle; not even beginning to mention the concept of death via Quincy.
✦ Being Useless - After his time with Camila, Albin has developed a fear of being useless to those around him. Seeing as he took a mostly-backseat to Camila's own excursions and felt utterly helpless in the process, Albin has realized that this is a feeling he very much detests, and fears going back to. Taking a backseat to anyone is not something he'll ever allow himself to deal with again.
✦ Sonken Kouhai - One of Albin's biggest fears is this Shinigami traitor. Having seen the man firsthand through Camila's rather suicidal ventures into Hueco Mundo, Albin has since come to realize that this man has nothing but consistent power within him, just waiting to be used at a moment's notice; power that could easily sunder the Three Worlds.
✦ Irrelevance - Charlotte is very much a girl focused on her reputation. She's not the type to just allow herself to be sullied by fading into obscurity. Even if she needs to do so constantly, Charlotte will do whatever she can in order to set a name and reputation for herself, whether for a good reason or bad.
✦ Hell - A rather intrinsic fear for most individuals, Albin has a rather evolved fear of Hell after seeing it take Camila firsthand. Not only that, but Brutus, being a Hason, also instills quite an amount of fear within Albin. Some things are just better left untouched, and Hell is absolutely one of these things that he feels shouldn't be interacted with if it can be helped.
Goals:
⛧ Repaying Brutus - Albin doesn't like the idea of living with debt. Once he climbs through the upper echelons of power again, and attains a position that he can comfortably fight in, he's going to do what he can in order to pay back what he owes to the Hason. Doesn't matter what he's going to ask, Albin signed himself up for this fate, so he's going to do what he can to see it through.
⛧ Maintaining Order - Contrary to what others might think, Albin very much likes the idea of maintaining a level of order within the Soul Society, through his own sense of vigilante justice. While certainly an individual otherwise noted as Neutral, this actually bumps his Alignment back toward Chaotic, as he still very much enjoys law and order, even if he's not willing to abide by it himself.
⛧ Advancing In Rank - Albin very much desires to hold a position of power. It's something that he's willing to force a hand toward in order to get what he wants, and will go through most extremes in order to actually take a spot like that. He's rather cutthroat when it comes to something like this, and will remain that way even into attaining that rank, in order to protect his position.
⛧ Repairing the Rukon - Having seen firsthand what the slums of the Rukon are like, Albin is very passionate about the idea of fixing up the Rukongai and providing more funding toward keeping its citizens out of poverty. He knows what sorts of hell those in the Rukon have to deal with, and doesn't wish that fate upon anyone else that doesn't need to endure it already. Even those that do, he hopes they'll benefit from the reparation of the Rukon.
⛧ Establishing Allies - One of Albin's primary goals now that he's a Shinigami, he seeks to establish connections amongst those around him as best he can. Namely, his Squad, Captain Ludwig, and those in closely-regarded Squads. The more allies he's got, the better off he'll feel, as he'll be able to avoid feeling alone as often as he can possibly manage.
Overall Personality:
It should come to no surprise that Albin is someone generally emboldened by his own ideals. He's a rather strong-willed individual with a mindset revolving around bringing about his own justice within the world. Despite his job-related orientation, he's still got a heart of gold. While still desiring to follow the decrees of Central 46 despite not caring for them, Albin is still the type of guy that's willing to bend a few rules here and there to make sure those he cares for are happy, healthy, and safe.
On the topic of those he cares for, it's not all that hard to get on the man's good side. He's generally easy to get along with, so long as someone isn't going out of their way to make him upset. That said though, first impressions with Albin are absolutely everything; he's not the type to just forgive and forget someone's actions during a first impression; something like that will remain with him for life. That said, someone would need to do something monumentally messed up for that to occur to begin with.
Staying on his good side from there is relatively simple. All that's really needed is to not go directly against him. Confrontation and suggestions are all well and fine, but when someone grows to be directly antagonistic against him, that's when he's going to have a problem with someone. He doesn't take confrontation particularly well, and will always lash back with aggression when met with more aggression. He's not going to take kindly to harassment from others, though he'll generally be more forgiving than a first meeting should that happen.
Should someone end up on his shitlist, they shouldn't expect to get off of it. In more professional environments, he'll generally hold up a passive aggressive attitude against those individuals in question, and won't think twice about doing what he can in order to (legally) put them under. Somewhat vindictive, but that's just who he is as a person. In a non-professional environment, however, you'd better believe he'll be looking for a fight from whomever went out of their way in order to anger the man.
When it comes to those that actually stay on Albin's good side, he's generally going to be much more kind to those folk. He may even go as far as to aid them in whichever ways he possibly can, within the realms of his own position. Generally these are the people he's going to bend the rules for, if given the opportunity, and genuinely values his relationship with these sorts of people. It's not often that Albin finds himself forming a genuine connection with others, so he tends to savor those moments wherever he can.✦COMBAT⛧
Fighting Style:
Albin's fighting styles are actually quite straightforward, all things considered. First and foremost, he's a physically-oriented combatant, relying on his Strength and intense Spiritual Pressure while his release is not active. Nine times out of ten, Albin is going to focus on getting up close and personal with his opponents while going on the offensive, just to make sure there's very little they can do about fighting him. If he's with allies, this is even more exemplified, in order to try to keep the attention on himself if those around him aren't defensively-oriented.
While sealed, Albin makes ample use of non-release techniques to fight. With one look of his non-release techniques, one can very quickly identify that most of his techniques are made up of the "Numbers" line, exemplifying his partnership with Kōsei Kādo. It's through these techniques that Albin finds himself most reliable in a fight, due to the very wide application of such techniques allowing him to take tremendous advantage of a wide variety of situations. Even with only seven of the ten Numbers techniques, almost every situation can be covered.
In addition to this, Albin also has his own personal branch of techniques; those of the "Numbers, Tenka" line. These techniques take the teachings of Taien Hadohou, and push them all one step further. Through continued mastery over the current Numbers techniques, the Tenka line enables further ability of each one, whether pushing those techniques further for added strain, being a creative application of a pre-existing Numbers technique, or simply making them safer for the user to utilize in a general combat scenario.
When starting a fight, Albin is almost always going to be on the offensive. He'll be hyper-focused on "drawing the aggro", so to speak, and look to combat his foes martially. He has a pretty fair amount of both Strength and Speed to reasonably keep up with some of the more physically-oriented characters, while also being able to tactfully overwhelm those that lack in both departments. While his offensives are middling at best when it comes to raw damage potential, the amount of pressure both him and Kōsei Kādo can keep up in a fight is seemingly unrivaled.
When required to fight defensively, there's a very strong chance that Albin will end up simply releasing. Given how defensively-oriented his release is, and the fact that he can very easily save a life if need be, this is going to be a very noteworthy option for him. His main focus in a defensive situation is very easily going to be keeping himself alive, and anything less than that would be reckless in his own eyes. He may be a "rushdown" focused fighter, but that does not mean that he's unintelligent about his own strategic capabilities.
Zanpakuto Spirit Appearance:{Faceclaim: Aurelion Sol - League of Legends}{Humanoid Aurelion Sol}
Faceclaiming Aurelion Sol from League of Legends, Kōsei Kādo takes shape as a massive, spectral, starry dragon. On a first glance, Kōsei Kādo appears as though he's made almost entirely of starlight. Tracing across his entire body, lines of starlight are visible, glowing periodically and pulsing from his neck, all the way down to the tip of his tail. The closer that one gets to his tail, the more Kōsei Kādo seems to fade out into nothingness, taking on an almost ghostly appearance as his body continues on. Atop his head, a golden crown of sorts, very much like that of horns rests neatly, allowing him to take on an almost regal appearance to him. Should he desire, Kōsei Kādo can appear to Albin in a humanoid form as well, holding an almost identical appearance to his dragon form aside from the slight changes due to appearing as a different species almost entirely.
Inner World:
Albin's Inner World appears as an endless expanse of stars in space. An almost explosive array of purples, blues, and indigo hues takes across the sky, ground, and areas beneath Albin's feet. Almost as though he's walking on nothing, something like Albin's inner world is likely to find those inside or experiencing it quite disorienting the first time around. This expanse of a sightless ground expands indefinitely, unchanging around him. The world itself seems to have its own day and night cycle, though the light emitted from the world around this world is far from anything blinding at any given point.
Zanpakuto Appearances:{Main-Hand: 恒星カード - Kōsei Kādo (lit. Star Card)}{Off-Hand: 星の輪 - Hoshinowa (lit. Wheel of Stars)}
Kōsei Kādo when released appears as a rapier of sorts. Though, naturally, there are quite a few differences between a normal rapier and Kōsei Kādo. For one, Kōsei Kādo has a cosmic appearance. The weapon's blade appears to be made of solidified space, with a starry pattern projecting and actively shifting along the blade itself. As one gets closer to the guard, they'll soon realize that it's not a guard at all and instead, a small, personalized galaxy rests, separating the grip from the blade. On the grip, a similar pattern appears, with runes of light seeming to hold the weapon itself in place.
Hoshinowa on the other hand, takes shape as a sort of globe. Floating over top Albin's left hand while his Zanpakuto is released, Hoshinowa acts as a sort of "spell focus". It's through Hoshinowa that Albin is able to cast his release techniques, drawing from the cards that perpetually float around the globe structure. Hoshinowa holds quite a number of moving parts, and seems to be perpetually in motion; whether spinning from the center, the metal rings orbiting around the sphere in the center, or even just the crescent shape toward the outer ring spinning around the center. Even the cards spin around the center of the globe.
Shikai/Bankai Name & Callouts: 恒星カード (lit. Star Card) "Draw, Kōsei Kādo!"/ 輝く星カード (lit. Shining Star Card) "Intertwine with Twilight and Divine the Stars, Kagayaku Hoshi Kādo."
Overall Ability:
Kōsei Kādo as a release focuses around the concept of Tarot. From utilizing, invoking, and manifesting the Major Arcana, Albin is able to provide himself and allies with powerful boons to allow them to continue through a fight much easier than one would normally be able to do. Before getting into drawing cards, however, Kōsei Kādo does provide Albin with some fairly basic supportive abilities. By spending 100 reiatsu, Albin enters one of two "stances" of his choice; that of Upright Stance, and that of Reversed Stance. Depending on his stance, this ability will change slightly. Upright Stance allows for an injury to be healed every post for the next three posts, so long as that injury was caused by 75% of Albin's OS or less, with each injury being healed over the course of a full post. Reversed Stance, instead of healing over time, provides a shield of light for three posts, protecting the target with a durability equal to 150% of Albin's Spiritual OS.
Shikai Overall Ability:
It's through Kōsei Kādo that Albin has the ability to draw tarot cards, and make use of them in the midst of a fight. Once per post, at no cost to him, Albin can draw one singular tarot card, randomly determined by a dice roll, range 1-6, and applying an effect based on the cards listed below, following numerical ascending order. Depending on what said roll is, he'll draw one of six different cards, each providing a small effect when used. When drawn, a card lasts until it is used via his Overall Ability, shuffled back into his deck via Reinterpretation, or activated through Invocation. Activating a card via his Overall Ability cost no reiatsu to do, but do incur a cost of 100 reiatsu for every post the effect remains active for, up to a maximum of 3 posts. Cards can still be drawn while maintaining an effect, but said drawn cards cannot be used through the Overall Ability without first deactivating the currently active effect.{Cards & Effects}
Strength: Strength stands for inner power, determination, and well, strength. When drawn and used, this manifests as a boost to the Class of a technique the beneficiary decides to make use of. Once per post, the beneficiary can increase the Class of one technique they use by 1, up to a maximum of Class 1. When used, Strength grants Albin a Solar Alignment.
The Hanged Man: The Hanged Man stands for resistance, stalling, and indecision. When drawn and used, this manifests as a cut to the Class of a technique used against the beneficiary. Once per post, the beneficiary can decrease the Class of one technique striking against them, or that they actively clash with by 1 Class, down to a minimum of Class 6. When used, The Hanged Man grants Albin a Lunar Alignment.
The Tower: The Tower stands for sudden change, upheaval, and awakening. When drawn and used, this manifests as a sudden increase to the speed at which the beneficiary can comfortably move at. While under the effects of The Tower, the speed at which the beneficiary can comfortably move at is increased by 100 points, up from 300, stacking with other effects or types that do the same. When used, The Tower grants Albin a Celestial Alignment.
Temperance: Temperance stands for balance, patience, and purpose. When drawn and used, this manifests as a burst of physical durability to the beneficiary. While under the effects of Temperance (for the duration of the Overall Ability), the beneficiary is granted one rank in a Defensive Skill of Albin's choice. Valid choices include, but are not limited to, Strength of Will, Pain Tolerance, Bleeding Tolerance, Poison Resist, and Damage Recovery. When used, Temperance grants Albin a Solar Alignment.
The Star: The Star stands for Hope, Faith, and Spirituality. When drawn and used, this manifests as a blessing of spiritual energy, granting the beneficiary cheaper costs for the duration. While under the effects of The Star, the beneficiary is granted a reiatsu cost reduction of 20% to one technique per post, applying to any and every reiatsu cost or tax the beneficiary might experience. When used, The Star grants Albin a Lunar Alignment.
The Chariot: The Chariot stands for Control, Willpower, and Determination. When drawn and used, this manifests as a blessing of physical energy, granting the beneficiary a second wind. While under the effects of The Chariot, the beneficiary loses Stamina 20% slower than normal. Once per card draw, The Chariot is also capable of restoring one post of Stamina to types with Stamina drawbacks. When used, The Chariot grants Albin a Celestial Alignment.
Bankai Overall Ability:
Kagayaku Hoshi Kādo takes the abilities from Shikai, and amplifies those even further beyond. Instead of being able to keep the effects of a card active for only three posts, this duration is now increased to five total posts. On top of that, each card gains an increase in effect when drawn; Strength now increases the Class of one technique by 2. Similarly speaking, The Hanged Man now also reduces the Class of one technique by 2. The Tower now increases "comfortable speed" by 200 instead of 100. Temperance now grants two temporary points in a Skill, instead of one. The Star now reduces reiatsu costs by 30%. Similarly, The Chariot now reduces Stamina costs by 30%.
Zanpakuto Techniques:{Reinterpretation}
Tarot in general is not something that has set meanings for each and every card. While some narratives might normally be agreed upon, nothing is set in stone. As such, many such readings leave room for interpretation. In Albin's case, Reinterpretation allows him to place the currently-drawn card back into his deck, and redraw for a potentially different outcome. As one can expect, a simple act such as redrawing a card doesn't cost reiatsu, but does incur a two post cooldown, from the time the technique was used. To activate Reinterpretation, simply roll another die, and take the second results.{Double Draw}
Sometimes, drawing one card at a time is just too slow. As such, there are times where drawing two cards, and exerting more reiatsu to activate those cards might be beneficial. In such situations, we have Double Draw. In order to activate this technique, simply roll an additional die to draw another card. This technique then incurs a two post cooldown from the time the extra card drawn was used. Naturally there is a chance that the same card can be drawn more than once. In these situations, if card effects are used through the Overall Ability, those effects will stack with each other for the duration. When two cards are used through the the Overall Ability because of this technique, it costs 300 reiatsu per post to maintain, as opposed 100.{Forcing Fortune}
Even more rarely, there are times where one may need to 'stack the deck' in order to convince someone of a desired outcome ringing true. In those situations where Albin requires a very specific effect, Forcing Fortune is the go-to option. What this technique does is allow Albin to bypass the dice roll for drawing a card altogether; instead, he simply thinks of a card, and will draw into that card of his choice. Though, playing with forces of fate like this aren't without cost; instead of incurring a reiatsu cost for this technique, Albin instead suffers something potentially much more disastrous; he must choose one of his cards. On the chance that he draws that card, sometime within the next three posts after using this technique, that card will do absolutely nothing when played, no matter the technique or Overall Ability used. Unlike his other techniques, this one does not have a cooldown. Instead, every time he uses this technique, if a duration still exists on this technique, a different card must be chosen. All durations of this technique are then reset back to three posts. This means that it's very possible for Albin to end up unable to use any of his cards for a period of three straight posts, should he Force his Fortune too often. Additionally, Forcing Fortune cannot be used while a card effect is currently active through Albin's Overall Abilities. Maintaining an effect that has had it's Fortune Forced costs 300 reiatsu a post, instead of the standard 100.{Invocation}
There comes a time where a simple tarot reading isn't quite enough to win a fight. In those situations, Albin may channel his reiatsu through his tarot, in order to invoke effects through those Tarot; hence the name of the effect. These Invocations are Albin's sole offensive ability, and manifest however he'd like them to in that specific situation. Whether as a simple bolt effect, or appearing as an animal of sorts, the appearance is up to him. That said, these Invocations always follow these same rules; if only moving in a straight line, an Invocation can move at 800 Speed. If it has the option to change its path, it will always move at 600. Depending on the Tarot used for this Invocation, said invocation will have a different elemental affinity, and utilize a different Stat of Albin's. Invocation costs 200 Reiatsu to use, and lasts until the Invocation connects with a foe or for three posts; whichever is shorter. Cinematically, these Invocations can last indefinitely.{Tarot Affinities}
Strength: Fire-Aligned, and uses Spiritual OS.
The Hanged Man: Earth-Aligned, and uses Physical OS.
The Tower: Water-Aligned, and uses Spiritual OS.
Temperance: Wind-Aligned, and uses Physical OS.
The Star: Lightning-Aligned, and uses Spiritual OS.
The Chariot: Ice-Aligned, and uses Physical OS.{Planetary Conjunction}
Once every so often, each of the planets will align perfectly with one another. It's through Planetary Conjunction that Albin seeks to replicate this phenomenon through his own cards, drawing on the nature of the Alignments each card possesses. As listed in his Shikai Overall Ability, each card possesses an alignment; either that of Solar Alignment, Lunar Alignment, or Celestial Alignment. Every time a card is played through an Overall Ability, or through Invocation, that card's Alignment is saved on a First-In, First-Out basis. At any point, and for the cost of 200 reiatsu, Planetary Conjunction can be cast, spending all saved Alignments, and granting effects to all nearby allies based on the number of different Alignments spent in the cast. Effects of Planetary Conjunction last for 3 posts.{Alignments}
One Alignment: All allies begin to perceive the world around them slower than it's actually moving, treating their speed as 50% higher for the purposes of seeing opponents moving at high speeds only.
Two Alignments: Status Effects and Alterations placed on all allies from an OS equal to or less than Albin's current OS are cleansed for the duration, but return after Planetary Conjunction expires, at the same severity it was suspended at.
Three Alignments: All allies regain 8% of their maximum reiatsu every post while under the effects of Planetary Conjunction, up to their maximum, and grants Albin one Galactic Alignment.{Universal Singularity}
For those that may not know, a Singularity is the point in space where the curvature of spacetime becomes infinite. This technique seeks to replicate such infinity. In order to utilize this technique, a minimum of three Galactic Alignments, and 500 reiatsu must be sacrificed. By casting Universal Singularity, a circular, constellation pattern appears on the ground, centered on Albin. This rune can vary in size; on Cast, Albin can choose for this rune to range anywhere from one foot in diameter, to one hundred feet. This rune lasts for a number of posts equal to the number of Galactic Alignments sacrificed. For the duration of this rune, nothing in the area is able to be killed. Allies, enemies - it matters not. One can be brought to the brink of death, but cannot be truly killed while in this zone without both Class Superiority to this technique, and a 3x OS Superiority to Albin's own. After the duration of this technique expires, the constellatory circle explodes in restorative reiatsu, healing all - once again, both enemies and allies - totally and completely. All injuries will be restored, foreign substances and unwanted effects will be purified (so long as their OS is less than or equal to 3x Albin's OS), and all physical stamina is completely restored. The only thing this technique does not recover is spiritual stamina, reiatsu, and Stamina posts from types that require it.

History:{CHAPTER Ⅰ}
Before we begin the ever-expanding story of Camila Adaronde and her descent into darkness, some background information must be established first. To start, Camila came from an extremely spiritually aware family that prided themselves on this ability. Due to it not being covered in this story because she has yet to meet her “zanpakuto spirit”, let alone inner hollow, it will be stated here. Both of her parents knew each other since childhood, and were inseparable. During a fateful night when they were young adults, they were both attacked by the same arrancar, and in that happening, traces of the arrancar’s reiatsu were left inside of the body of her mother and father.
The arrancar was detained by shinigami, but not without a fight. In one last effort to slay the two, the hollow made one last attempt to end the couple, but was quickly put down after landing an additional attack on both of them, leaving them with even more of his residual reiatsu. This arrancar’s name was Albin Landry, the same hollow that would later manifest inside of our protagonist.
With both future parents surviving, they later went on to get married, and have two children. Their first child, Camila. Their second, Camila’s younger brother Felix. One of these children would later grow to be Fullbringers, save for Camila. With the scene set, we may now begin the tale of the eldest child in the Adaronde family, Camila.{CHAPTER Ⅱ}
“C’mon Camila, you’re much better than this than we are!” Felix complained. He stared into the eyes of his older sister, currently trying to read in the living room of their small house. She let out a sigh, and turned her head to face him, clearly annoyed. “I already told you I don’t like doing this,” she grunted. Placing a bookmark into the book she was currently reading, she stood up, once again looking down at the younger boy. “You owe me for this, remember that.”
“Of course!” He said in reply. She turned to walk into her room, which happened to be connected to the room they were in. She opened the door, and threw the book she was currently reading down, picking up another she had next to her bed. Camila tucked it underneath her arm, and exited the room. She began to look for her brother, who was watching her intently from her original seat on the couch. She sighed again. “I’m only going to do this once, so you’d better pay attention.” Felix nodded. Camila held the book up by the spine, keeping it horizontal. From the book, a wave of reiatsu began to condense around it and light up the air in a color of blood red. From the book, formed a sword. The blade was large, and looked to be fairly heavy as well. She gripped the weapon with her free hand, and let it fall to her side.
“Whoa!” Her younger brother shouted, “I could feel that from like, a thousand miles away if I wanted to!” Obviously he was exaggerating, as kids did, she thought to herself. From in the kitchen, Camila heard her mother shout. “Camila Elizabeth Adaronde, what have I told you about using that in the house?” Camila began to form a surprised look on her face. How could she tell what was happening inside? She probably heard her brother’s reaction, she thought to herself. Yeah, that had to be it. “Sorry,” she shouted back to her mother, as she disabled the form of the blade. Immediately the book fell to the ground with a quiet thump. She glared at her little brother. “Sorry! I didn’t mean to get you in trouble,” he said sheepishly, “I just wanted to see if I could do that for myself is all…”
Camila started to feel bad for her brother. He was only nine, after all. He was still young, easily fascinated by anything out of the ordinary. She had been 14 at the time, a good 5 years older than him. During that time, she’s gotten used to the whole “dead people are everywhere” thing. This was something her parents explained to her a long time ago; the existence of shinigami, hollows, how they exist, and even that of Fullbringers. Though most of that never held her interest, she was always fascinated by the Shinigami. Ever since she learned about them; what they’re capable of, she’s wanted to be one. Only one small problem, though; in order for that to happen, from what her parents told her, she needed to die. This was something Camila was not ready for. The next best thing for her was being a Fullbringer, the nature of which her parents did not mention was based from a hollow’s power.
Snapping back into reality, Camila sighed. “It’s alright, it’ll come with time. Mom and Dad say everybody can do it if they want to.” Her brother’s face lit up in excitement. “Then I’m gonna do everything I can in order to learn!” Camila couldn’t help but smile. She was glad to see her brother so enthusiastic about something she tended to hate. She couldn’t stand being a Fullbringer. Hopefully her brother and sister will like it, as they’re likely going to unlock the ability to do these kinds of things as well. “Yeah,” Camila told herself, “hopefully.”
She went into her room, and began to lay down. Upon the quiet around her beginning to form, drowning out outside noise, she heard a familiar voice. “You’ll never make it as a Shinigami,” the voice said, “You’re not cut out for it at all.” She knew that voice. It was a voice that had been tormenting her from a young age. As far back as she could remember, this voice has been with her, making her life a living hell in any way it could. She began to sob upon hearing it’s return. She turned around, and saw the same man she has seen since her childhood.
He was a pale man, standing quite tall for how old he looked. He had to be in what, his 40’s? At least. “You wouldn’t survive a day as a Shini,” he told her, crossing his arms and giving her a condescending smirk. She began to tear up, and formed a fist. Although shorter than him, she was still tall for her age, she she compared rather well. She pulled back her arm, and quickly thrusted it forward, aiming for his stomach. He quickly stepped out of the way, and laughed. “What’re you expecting to do with a weak little punch like that, huh?”
She began to grow angry, and tried to throw another punch. This one was also immediately sidestepped, and he took a step back. “Honey, please,” The man said, pulling his arm back, “This is what a real punch is like!” He quickly swung his arm into her stomach, and Camila began to flinch naturally. Upon “connecting” with her, the man disappeared. Realizing this a bit too late, Camila screamed on instinct, and forced her eyes shut. The man was gone. He hadn’t even touched her, why did she scream? This was a question that needed to go unanswered, as her parents began running into the room.
“Is everything alright?” Camila’s mother asked frantically, checking her all over as to make sure nothing was wrong with her. Her father maintained a severely worried look on his face. “N-Nothing’s wrong,” Camila managed to force out. She was seconds away from breaking down, and clearly showed this. “Are you sure sweetheart? Is there anything we can do to help?” Her mother asked. “I’m sure, I’m fine!” Camila stated rather aggressively. She didn’t like to be treated like a child. She was 15, she was going to be an adult in a few years. Her birthday was in a month, for crying out loud! “Alright dear, I think it’s time for us to leave,” Camila’s father said to her mother, who was currently stressing out over her first-born daughter, “Let’s give her some time to calm down. And, Camila,” her father said, turning to face her, “If you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to let us know.”
A few moments later, after managing to calm herself down, Camila decided to do what she was originally planning, and decided to lay down. She pulled her blanket above herself, and closed her eyes. Hopefully this dream would be different. For as long as she could remember, she’s been having nightmares. Constantly happening every night without missing a beat. And, every night was the same thing. The same man who she had just encountered again today, beating her down physically. She felt so powerless in these dreams, and wished they would stop. Though, for these to stop, that meant telling someone what was going on. She didn’t want to be labelled as crazy. She shook it off, and drifted off to sleep.{CHAPTER Ⅲ}
Camila opened her eyes, and was immediately met with the view of what appeared to be a ballroom. She had not realized that this was a dream, and took a step forward. Upon her foot hitting the ground, she realized her feet made a click, and that she felt taller than normal. She was in heels, and wearing a dress. This was nothing really new for her, because as of recently, she’s been trying on numerous amounts of dresses and heels. After all, her 16th birthday was approaching quickly.
She began to take a few more steps around, before being once again met with a familiar voice. It was in the sound of a laugh, as she began to hear the clicking of shoes against the glossy wooden floor. She quickly turned around, and was met with nothing. Almost immediately, though, The sound began to play from behind her head, like before. He was moving around, and quickly. She turned the rest of her body, as to see if that correlates, and discovered no correlation. She realized that his location was dependent on the direction her eyes were. There was no way she was going to be able to see him, as he was just too damn quick. She closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. Seconds later, she was met with a sharp pain in her back, forcing her forward. She ended up tripping over herself, and falling forward to her hands and knees. She coughed.
The pain she felt was a punch straight to her lower spine. Normally, a punch of that kind of force straight to someone’s spinal cord would be enough to deal some serious damage, and at worst, paralyze them. Though, this wasn’t a normal situation. It had been a dream, unbeknownst to Camila. Though not physically, it had felt like she was just forced to endure through that pain in the real world; as if it had actually happened. She turned her head behind her slowly to the left, and saw the man looming over her. “You’re pathetic,” he said, delivering a sharp kick straight to her gut. Immediately she jumped upwards from her hands and knees, and fell onto her side. Her head slammed against the ground, as well as the entire left side of her body. She was racked with pain.
Turning her head up slowly, tears began to run down her cheek. She began to cry, barely able to take the pain she now had to put up with without crying. Again, this had been a dream, so naturally, she was able to withstand more than she normally would be able to; much more. The man walked slowly in front of her vision, his shoes clicking against the ground the whole way there. The sound echoed through the dance hall. “W-Why?” She asked. She didn’t have much else to say, nor could she really force more out. “Why?” He repeated, “Because this is something I deserve to get to do. My prey escaped from me, and with that took what I held dearest to me; my life. So now, in return, I’m going to take what they hold dearest to them.”
Camila didn’t understand a word of this. Prey? What they hold dearest? Who was they? Who was his prey? This did nothing but confuse Camila, something that showed quite evidently on her face. “Don’t worry, child,” the man said, pulling his foot back, “You’ll learn in due time.” Almost immediately, as if some invisible force was holding it back, the man’s foot shot forward. It appeared as though it was going to easily come in contact with Camila’s face; specifically her nose. His foot seemed to be there instantly, flying at a speed she could barely keep up with, approaching her face, and…
Camila shot up from her bed, completely covered in sweat. She was breathing heavily, and holding herself back from screaming. It had all been a dream, she thought to herself, nothin but a dream. She wiped her forehead, and gently slammed her head against her pillow. Gently turning her head to the right, Camia looked at a digital clock next to her bed. 1:19 AM. Damn, she thought to herself, it’s way too early for this. She sighed to herself, and started to drift back to sleep.{CHAPTER Ⅳ}
When you have nothing going on during that time, a month can go by extremely quickly. Even if you have things that are happening to keep your life eventful, time will still fly by. That’s just the nature of time, and exactly what happened to Camila during this time. Even though she had to deal with the constant torment she was subjected to, time went by rather quickly. Eventually, the day of her sixteenth birthday rolled around, and nobody was prepared for the events that were going to unfold.
The day had started off rather normal, with nothing really out of the ordinary. Camila was still being tormented by this seemingly fake man she continued to avoid telling anybody about, Felix was still fascinated by the spiritual world, same old, same old. About halfway through the day, Camila’s family decided to celebrate her birthday, not going overly-extravagant on a sweet 16 party due to the family’s already low income.
---
“...Happy Birthdy to You!” Everybody sang, finishing the well-known song, and clapping afterwards. Camila let a small smile rise to her cheeks. She was glad to be celebrating this day with her family, and didn’t want it any other way. She blew out the small candles that were placed on top of the carrot cake before her; her favorite. Not even a second after, Camila’s father pulled out a small bag from behind him, and handed it to his daughter. “This is just a little something from your mother and I”, he said.
Camila’s smile persisted, as she opened the bag up. Inside, were a few things. On top, was a shirt. The shirt had been black in color, different from her normal color choices, and had a logo on the front for a band she recognized. “We know you’ve been listening to them a lot,” her father said, “So we decided to get you a tee shirt!” Camila’s smile began to grow. She hugged the shirt. “C’mon, keep going!” her mother said, her phone screen still pointed towards her daughter. She began to pull out a book. Just from the font on the cover, she immediately recognized the series. “I wasn’t sure if you’re into those backwards comics,” her mother said, “but I figured you’ll read pretty much anything, so it couldn’t hurt to try it, right?” Little did her mother know, Camila was an avid fan of manga, she just never read them at home, as she never owned any books.
“Mila, Mila!” Her little brother shouted, obviously excited about something. “What is it, Felix?” she said cheerfully, glad to encourage him. “I want to show you something cool!” Her little brother quickly grabbed her hand, and his favorite toy robot. He opened the front door, and sprinted out to the front yard. Upon reaching the large grassy patch in front of their house, Felix set the robot down, and pointed both of his hands towards the robot. He closed his eyes, and focused intently. Camila thought this was rather cute, and did pick up what he wanted to show her, though it didn’t seem to be working at the moment. Suddenly, the boy took multiple steps backward, as if hit by something. Almost immediately, Camila realized what was going on, and dropped her shirt and book. The boy had what appeared to be an arrow of light sticking out of his shoulder. Before she could react, the arrow in his shoulder was then met with a matching one, this time in the young boy’s skull.
“FELIX!!” Camila screamed at the top of her lungs, with tears beginning to stream down her face. As if on queue, Camila’s parents ran outside, and grabbed her by the arms, pulling her inside. They covered her mouth, and pulled them into their room. Confused and concerned for her now executed brother, she tried to break from their grip, though unsuccessful. An unfamiliar voice began to speak, getting louder with each second. “Come out, little hollow, and be purged! It is the wish of His Holiness, and therefore shall be done!” What hollow was the man talking about? Who was His Holiness? Why was her brother just killed? These were all questions Camila had, and all questions that would get answered at a later time.
Camila’s dad began to rummage through drawers, until he found a small knife. It was a steak knife that he had held onto in the case of an intruder. But how was he going to stand up to that man with the bow? Was he insane? He’d be killed immediately! He turned to face Camila, and a tear rolled down his cheek. “Mila, do you trust me?” he asked, his voice starting to crack. Her mother began to cry silently, turning away from Camila. The young girl was confused. What had been going on? “Dad, what hollow was the man talking about? Who’s His Holiness?”
Her dad grabbed her shoulders, and held her face level with his. “Camila, this is not a time for questions! I need you to answer me! Do you trust me?” He began to say softly. As he finished, the door to their bedroom was kicked open. Standing in the entrance, was a man clad in full white. He looked to be wearing some kind of uniform. In his hand, a bow. The bow appeared to be made of the same stuff that her sword was, but instead of red, his was blue. “There you are,” he said, aiming his bow at Camila’s mother, and releasing his backmost hand. Her mother’s body slammed up against the wall, and slumped over.
Acting on impulse, Camila’s father took the knife, and ran it through Camila’s chest. Her eyes widened as immense pain gripped her body. She looked down, and began to cry. Her hearing slowly started to fade. She looked up, and saw the older man who had been tormenting her most of her life, standing behind of her father. He appeared to mouth the words, “Sleep tight”. Faint screaming could be heard from around her. It sounded like a man’s voice, and was coming from right in front of her. She looked down once again; at her hands. They were now completely covered in blood. Her vision slowly began to blacken. Her eyes were still open. Is this what dying felt like..? Was she about to die..? Her head began to spin. She felt dizzy, like she couldn’t keep herself up anymore. She heard a faint thud, and felt a small pain in her head; nothing like the current pain in her chest. Though, even that was starting to fade. All of her senses were starting to disappear. She couldn’t feel anything. She tried to speak, and managed to get out one last sentence before everything faded to black.
“I don’t want… to die…”{CHAPTER Ⅴ}
Seconds later, Camila felt herself come to. This time, with no pain at all. Her head was resting on the ground, facing the doorway. In front of her, were four pairs of feet. Two that belonged to the man in white, and two behind him. Those feet were covered in black robes, and didn’t appear to be visual at the moment. She tilted her head and looked up. The man in white now had a hole in his chest, similarly to the way that she did, only much bigger. The hole in his chest was the size of a katana, as he was just run through by one. The hole in her chest was the size of a kitchen knife.
Camila began to feel for the wound on her chest, and felt nothing. Had that just been a bad dream? No, it couldn't have been. The man who just attacked her family stood before her, now bloodied and likely dead. But, if the hole in her chest wasn’t there, then was she alive? Camila slowly stood up, and looked down. Before her, was her own body, laying there motionless on the floor. She stared in shock. She really had died. Her own father had just killed her. But why? What would give him a good enough reason to-
“Hey,” a voice called out to Camila, “Everything is alright now, you can rest easy.” She looked up. The man in the black robes smiled at her. She gasped. A Shinigami! A real live Shinigami just came! She began to think out loud. “Shinigami exist to help spirits, right? But, I don’t see my mom or dad anywhere.” Camila looked at the two fresh bodies on the ground, once of which she saw die, and the other she didn’t witness.
“Well, you see, kid,” The shinigami began to say, “The man that just killed both of these two people next to you was a Quincy. They’re similar to us Shinigami, only instead of purifying hollowed souls, they destroy ‘em.” She looked at the man, confused. “Hollowed souls?” The Shinigami nodded, withdrawing his blade from the quincy, as he fell to the ground. “Yeah. Your family seems to have a fair amount of Hollow Reiatsu inside of them. However, this seems to have affected you more than the others.” She continued to stare, still confused. “What makes you say that? You didn’t arrive in time to save my little brother, so how could you possibly know that it affected me more than anybody else?” Camila’s tone got quite aggressive here.
“Easy now, kid,” The Shinigami said, “This is how I know; Your spiritual pressure is comparable to that of mine. You’ve easily got the largest and strongest here out of everybody in your family. If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t have come to save you. If we’re speaking honestly here…” his voice began to trail off, “I thought you were a hollow. It was a pleasant surprise to find you instead, but I did in-fact think you were a hollow to begin with.” Camila’s face was filled with nothing but pure shock. Her? A hollow? Surely he had to be joking, right? “I don’t think It’s against any kind of rules to do this,” the Shinigami said, “So I’m going to send you to the Soul Society. In the case that anybody asks…” the Shiniami’s voice began to trail off again, “...just tell them you were attacked by a massive hollow. Hopefully they’ll believe that.” Clearly, he was fairly new at his job. That much was certainly evident from their encounter.
The Shinigami walked up to Camila, and gently placed the pommel of his katana against her forehead. Suddenly, she was blinded by a large flash of light. For a good few seconds, she couldn’t see a thing. After a bit, upon regaining her vision, she was in a new, foreign place. After piecing things together, she concluded that this must’ve been the Soul Society. There was not very much of another explanation that could’ve been plausible, considering the turn of events that had just occurred.
Camila felt a hand on her shoulder. It felt cold, like it shouldn’t have been there to begin with. She quickly turned around. She felt her heart sink in her chest. The man behind her had been the very same man who had constantly tormented her for the last 16 years. The very same man who had put her through hell and back. And here he was, in the afterlife. With her. “So,” He asked, a wicked smile forming on his face…
“Did you miss me?”{CHAPTER Ⅵ}
Beginning her time in Soul Society, Camila quickly picked up the art of Jinzen upon finishing her time in the academy. Making use of it for the very first time, she had her first very real encounter with her inner hollow right from the get-go; Albin. Although coming across as disgustingly condescending, Albin had taken time to teach the girl what little he could about sword combat, in order to prepare her for the world that was to come. In time, she'd make use of those strategies as best she could in order to keep fighting no matter the situation. Through him, she even picked up skill in hand-to-hand combat, despite having no desire to actually make use of it.
Upon finishing up in the academy, Camila quickly took to her squad, and introduced herself to her captain, Ludwig Verrlicht. The two hit it off quite nicely, and got along rather well. While not much is here to say, considering their initial meeting was quite brief in nature, Camila still grew to enjoy him, seeing him as a sort of light to Albin's darkness. Hoping to get to know the rest of her squad in time, Camila spent this time trying to introduce herself to the remainder of her squad, with little receptiveness from anyone else there, including her standoffish Vice Captain at the time.
Instead, Camila found herself taking trips alone, and taking up missions without the help of her squad. One such mission, was a trip to France in order to find out the workings of a rather deranged laboratory, quickly finding herself captured and ready to be used as nutrition for the beasts it was cooking up. Thankfully, someone who she'd immediately grow to consider a lifelong friend saved her life at the time; a miss Celes Shindazu. Thanks to her help, the two managed to make it out of the lab with minimal injury.
Upon finishing up their mission in France, Celes and Camila began to take up missions together whenever able. One such mission was their trip out to Baltimore, Maryland. It was through this missions that Celes quickly learned of Camila's rather aggressive tendencies, and her hatred toward Quincy. A hatred the girl would try to calm within Camila, though to little avail. After this mission, the two girls would continue to go on to remain in each other's company every so often, becoming rather close friends in such a short time.
One fateful day, Camila had found herself out other unseated members of Squad 11 during a different mission, without Celes. Had Celes been there, things may have gone differently, but all but Camila ended up meeting a quick demise by the hands of the Octava Espada at the time; an Adolf Reinhardt. It was through this fight that, while Camila ended up battered and bruised rather severely, she'd unlocked Shikai, and merged her soul with Albin's to an almost permanent extent. They'd managed to repel the Espada, thanks to holding out long enough for backup to arrive.
Upon returning, Camila had been given some rather sour treatment due to a taint of hollow reiatsu growing within her, likely presumed from her encounter with the Espada. Unbeknownst to her, and everyone else at the time, Albin had been growing in strength, considering the girl had just unlocked her Shikai. She'd been back to doing missions on her own, and even managed to encounter another Espada at the time, and formed another lifelong friendship with that of Ailene Haschiro. The two went on to tear down a Quincy settlement, causing a rather mass amount of damage nearby.
After a short period of time had passed, and both of her friends had received promotions, leaving the girl in the dust, Camila went on to meet Ailene once more. Having now reached the position of Septima Espada, the two had an argument, and quickly resulted in a fight. Within a few short moments, with a release from both girls, the fight quickly turned into a desire for bloodshed, causing both girls to go all-out. Because of this, Camila begun to deal with her first takeover from Albin; losing her mind and body, Albin made himself known, and did what he could to make sure the girl didn't fall in combat.
Thanks to Ailene's graciousness, Camila was spared, and given a Garganta to walk back through in order to return to Soul Society. Quickly met with threats of death from Shinigami watching her emerge, Camila took shelter under Celes, now Vice Captain of Squad 10 after a transfer, and went on to ponder everything thus far. She'd been treated like garbage from most of Soul Society, let alone her entire Squad. Her captain was absent, and her Vice Captain did absolutely nothing to stop the abuse. She'd had enough. Meeting Celes outside of the Uzaki Enterprises headquarters, Camila renounced her devotion to Soul Society, and went rogue.{CHAPTER Ⅶ}
Now on her own, Camila quickly found an apartment complex in southern Karakura, and began to live what she hoped would be a normal, human life from then on out; not wanting to deal with Soul Society's bullshit. Unfortunately for her, word about her going rogue went around quite quickly, and would quickly take a turn for the worst. Her best friend Celes would find her way to Camila's doorstep, and pressure the girl into trying to come back to Soul Society. Wanting nothing more than to run away with Celes, Camila confessed romantic feelings for the girl, and was quickly shot down, with Celes not feeling the same way. Hurt, Camila engaged in combat with Celes, who made the choice to display Bankai against her, with the fight ending in a draw between the two.
Having seen Celes' Bankai, Camila felt that same drive to grow stronger, and forced Albin to allow her to unlock her own. After a brawl between the two, with both Albin and Camila beating each other into the tile of Camila's Inner World, she'd eventually unlocked her own Bankai. Having reached what she'd long consider the peak of her power, Camila had felt ready to take on whatever the world had decided to throw at her from then on out.
After having achieved her Bankai, Camila had quickly found herself in two separate fights with additional Espada; that of Beast, and that of Lagos Oscuras. Both fights had been fought incredibly fiercely from all parties involved, with both fights resulting in a takeover from Albin, and ending in a tie for all combatants involved. Nonetheless, she'd set a reputation for herself as someone able to keep up with the Espada, and began to take pride in that fact, wanting to be more like those she'd fought.
During her time in the Human World, Camila had made friends with a Hollow known as Alacran; someone who'd later go on to help her journey astronomically. Together, the two ravished through a group of hyena hollows, led by a rather fearsome lion adjuchas. Making relatively easy work of the two, Camila and Alacran then bid each other adieu, later reuniting in an unexpected place.
Before that reunion, however, Camila had been hunted once more during a rather down day for her. Having returned from a rather extensive mission, her ex-captain, Ludwig, had been assigned to take the girl's life. As such, the two engaged in combat, and proceeded to enter a shouting match the moment that Camila had been pacified. Ludwig had told her that if she'd desired to fix the world, she'd have to do so from the top instead of hoping for change at the bottom; a sentiment the girl would soon take to heart.
After her fight with Ludwig, Camila later encountered the Vice Captain of Squad 7, Kaen Youji, who'd recognized her face and name as the traitor she was. Thankfully, though, neither of the two were looking for a fight, as they both simply wanted to enjoy a breakfast at a local coffee shop. After a rather pleasant conversation about the state of the world, ways Camila could get back into Soul Society, and how others were holding up, the two eventually parted ways, with Camila leaving newly set on a rather ambitious goal of her own; to ally herself with Hueco Mundo.
Upon following a Hollow into Hueco Mundo, Camila had quickly found herself reuniting with Alacran in the desert sands, and reintroduced after tearing down arrancar that had looked to kill them both. After a hollowfied freakout from Camila, and a bit of Gillian control problems from Alacran, the two eventually managed to make it to Las Noches in one piece.
Upon arriving at Las Noches, Camila had met Ailene once more, putting the two on a much better note than before. After finishing the pleasantries and a shared cup of tea, she'd offered Camila a place to stay in Las Noches for the time being, while she sought out the goal of joining the major faction in time. The two had gone on to socialize quite a bit in the coming weeks, growing ever closer in time. For once, Camila had started to feel like she belonged.
Over time, Camila even managed to be given the invitation to attend an Espada meeting. There, she'd met up with Arcadus, Lagos, Seraph, and Rio. Quickly finding a friend in Arcadus, and being the only Espada that Camila hadn't fought, the two quickly developed a friendship that resulted in a desire from Arcadus to see what the girl was capable of. In time, the two fought, and fought fiercely. As much expected, their fight had resulted in a loss for Camila, but the fight was much, much closer than expected.
After having challenged and kept up with most of the Espada, Camila desired to seek out audience with Souken Kouhai, the current King of Las Noches. During that conversation, Camila made it clear her desire to join Kouhai's forces, and was quickly shut down by the man for not being a full Vizard, and having taken control of her Inner Hollow. Angered by this, Camila decided to take matters into her own hands, and to prove to Kouhai, and everyone else that she was capable enough to join his army.
In turn, she challenged Kouhai's right hand, Guujin Karai, to a fight to the death. Guujin accepted, and the two were transported out to the sands of Hueco Mundo, where they engaged in combat. Acting recklessly, Camila unleashed everything she had from the get-go, and sought to tear down Guujin before the fight began. Unfortunately for her, her abilities were quickly stopped, and Guujin put an end to the girl without hesitation. Upon falling, Camila found herself immediately being dragged down into Hell.{CHAPTER Ⅷ}
During the same time Camila had been dragged down into Hell, a certain Hason allied with Guujin made himself apparent within Camila's inner world. Albin did what he could in order to plead with the Hason, looking for a secure future and one separate from Camila. Brutus obliged, and ripped Albin's hollowfied essence from Camila, leaving her to descend into hell on her own. Now existing on his own once more, Albin was brought into the world as a stray hollow; a form he preferred not to stay in forever.
Through the use of Camila's own Zanpakuto, Brutus went the extra step to purify Albin, sending his soul into the Soul Society, under the notion that Albin is in severe debt to the Hason, and at some point will have to pay that back. Obliging, Albin re-entered the Soul Cycle, memories intact, and began his life as a soul in the Rukongai.
Before anything else, Albin did what he could to focus his time to starting at Shin'ō Academy, starting in the middle of a semester, but still picking up everything regardless. Thanks to Camila's previous years through the academy, Albin aced everything near-flawlessly and graduated ahead of schedule, just a year behind the most recent class of graduates. Spending his time now as a freshly-appointed Shinigami once again affiliated with the thirteenth squad, Albin looks forward to his future, despite owing his life to a Hellion.
