Karakura. A town filled with quite the large number of spiritually aware humans. Which in turn attracted quite the number of hollows. Which in turn caused more shinigami to be stationed as lookouts in order to protect such people. And today Wynne was one such person. And unlike most days, she was alert. Not standing around bored as she used to do. This was because she had somewhat of an epiphany sometime last week. These little lookouts used to be boring to her until she was almost killed on her last one. She had even lost an arm, thanks to her weakness. Something she had thought she had gotten rid of.
It just went to show that there was always someone stronger out there. Although in the particular case of her last mission she was just outnumbered. Swarmed by creatures that were similar to hollows yet weren’t. Were they some type of creatures from hell? They were appearing more frequently as well. First the Quincy she had met, Aldwin, who had the taint of sin on him. And then the plant-like creature who had devoured her arm. One of the most painful experiences she had ever experienced in her life. Thankfully someone in Squad 4 had managed to heal it back, but some nights her nightmares made her relive the experience all over again. A truly horrid memory.
Thus she was giving this mission all the effort it deserved. She wasn’t slacking off, and if any hollow appeared, she would slay it, before it could summon any minions. The power of the hollow she had fought wasn’t strong, just its ability. Since then she had trained herself so that such a situation wouldn’t happen again. She had run that battle over and over again many times throughout her head to see what she could have done differently, and realized what her problem was. If an enemy was ranged, she couldn't do much against it. Her speed was slow, therefore she couldn’t catch up to it. So all they had to do was kite her, and the battle was already lost.
At least that was how it used to be for her. Ever since she underwent a major training session, her strength had grown immensely. So strong in fact, that a powerful swing from her could send out a shockwave that could hit her opponents from a range. If she had that in her previous fight, that flying serpent would have been killed before it launched the acid that had scarred her face. Now when enemies approached her, they would have to be cautious or she could cut them down before they even reached her. She could be a threat from close up or far away. The choice was hers.
As she mused, Wynne noticed a large dark shape from the corner of her eye. Judging from how large it was, she could reasonably guess that it was a hollow, as it could be nothing else from that size. And from how fast it was moving, it had a target in mind. What was it pursuing? A nearby spiritually aware human? If her energy sensory abilities were better, then perhaps Wynne might be able to tell if one was nearby, but since they weren’t she could only guess, either way, it wouldn’t matter. With a quick twist of her hand, she sent out a shockwave and the hollow was slain, no longer a problem.
Leaping down from the building she was on, Wynne hopped down into the park that the hollow was headed towards. Clearly this was its destination as it was heading in a straight line. But why here? Was there something special here, some sort of delicious scent that only it could smell? From what Wynne could see, there were only one or two people here, no one of importance. Perhaps she had killed it too quickly? Looking at the corpse of the hollow, Wynne narrowed her eyes. Was it actually alone to begin with? She wasn’t sure since her senses were pretty horrendous to begin with? Taking a moment to glance around, Wynne straightened her 9’9” frame and looked around imposingly. If something tried to launch a sneak attack on her, she’d make them regret it.

After a couple of bad encounters one would think that Eleonora would learn how to pick up her fights and leave the work to more qualified spiritual aware people, but the German can't ignore a hollow when she sees one, she has to go out of her way and either chase it or take it out, she might not be able to do much yet but surely with how many fights she's picking up soon she'll get a better understanding of her powers and help even more.
Eleonora has spent her morning chasing a hollow in particular that while not particularly strong it was fast and disengaged whenever the blonde shoot an arrow, having not learn yet a step technique meant that she had to chase it on foot and while she's not slow this was an exercise in Stamina and being honest extremely frustrating.
Slowly but surely she chipped away at the limbs of the creature so it would stop running away and corner it, unfortunately for the girl something took the chance and got rid of the Hollow before her, Eleonora wasn't able to understand what happened as she didn't see anything go through the beast yet it was sliced in one strike before disappearing, one thing was certain some one else was here and nearing the park.
Normally that would be the end of it but now Eleonora had to scout and see what was the thing that took out a hollow from such distance, her heart beat fast and she felt a chill running down her spine as if this was a terrible idea and considering her meeting with the hellion night prior she has enough reason to be wary of whatever was roaming the park.
It wasn't really hard to spot Wynne with her imposing height, Eleonora wasn't sure how tall this woman was but definitely above eight feet, more importantly the robes she was wearing the blonde recognize almost immediately, she has seen Shinigami before from afar but this was the closest she was to one and it wouldn't take long for her to spot the blonde, she knows about the antagonistic relationship between Quincy and Shinigamis and with the height difference intimidating the young girl her fight or flight instincts were screaming at her to leave.
But would she really be able to run? If anything the soul reaper would catch her with a flash step and then it was the end, she walked into the wolf mouth and now if she wants to get out she'll have to fight tooth and nail, there is no other choice in her mind and better take advantage that the Shinigami hasn't seen her yet.
Eleonora firmly planted her feet on the ground, took a deep breath and pull the string on her bow absorbing the reishi around her forming a spiritual arrow, that surely would alert the soul reaper so she had to act quickly, the thing about big opponents is that she has less space to miss her shot and with that in mind she roughly aim at the torso of the Shinigami and release her arrow.

While her sixth sense was accurate, her other senses weren’t. Which was most likely the reason she took a reiatsu arrow to the chest. Thankfully her chest was covered in rock hard muscles so the arrow did negligible damage. Still, the fact that she was randomly attacked was an annoyance in itself. Especially after just killing a hollow and protecting innocent civilians. Twisting her head around, Wynne looked for the culprit of the arrow. She knew it was a Quincy based on the weaponry, as it wasn’t her first time fighting such opponents. But that was where the questioning began.
Why were they attacking her? Sure Shinigami and Quincy were antagonistic towards each other, but it was more of the two tended to avoid each other type of thing, not kill each other on site type of thing. The latter was for hollows. Either way, what was done was done and Wynne was going to make whoever shot that arrow regret it, even if the arrow felt like a toothpick. You don’t just go around shooting people. Actions have consequences, and if the Quincy wasn’t aware of that, then Wynne was sure she’d be able to teach it to them.
Rotating her head to the left, Wynne looked at the place where the arrow came from. Standing there was a short blond haired woman currently holding a bow aimed towards her. Naturally using context clues, Wynne could assume this was the Quincy who just shot her. Widening her grin, she began a slow advance towards the woman. “Hello there little one. Would you be so kind as to tell me why you just shot an arrow towards my chest?” While the girl’s arrows stung a tad bit, they weren’t damaging enough to be a threat unless they hit something vital. Something Wynne doubted they could do unless she let them. So for now, the shinigami felt she was safe enough to question the mortal.
As she advanced, Wynne pushed up her shoulders a tad bit in order to make her loom even more over the Quincy. Not a hard prospect considering her height. She wanted to make the girl regret shooting her, as such a thing was beyond foolish. She was a shinigami protecting Karakura Town, not some random hollow to be purified. Plus Quincies weren’t even purifying hollows, they were eradicating them! Messing up the balance between the worlds! So she wasn’t even helping, she was making things worse. Perhaps it was up to Wynne to put a stop to that, even if it wasn’t her original goal.

The arrow hit the target as the blonde expected but the soul reaper didn't even flinch, at this point there was only one thing going through Eleonora's mind"Mistakes were made..." But what's done is done and now she has to figure out a way of getting away from the Shinigami or take her down, and if we are honest the latter doesn't seem like a possible task at the current moment but the prior might be if she plays her cards correctly.
"What other reason could be? You are Shinigami and I'm a Quincy" She answer to the soul reaper's question, Eleonora make sure to keep her distance at all times, with each step that Wynne took the blonde took one back "The moment we both reach the park the fight was inevitable, I'm done with running away so I took my chance"
But being honest now she wished she ran away when she had the time, Eleonora was uncertain at the moment but something about being in presence of this soul reaper made a cold chill crawl up her back as if she has made a terrible mistake, she has seen Shinigami in the distance before but they felt "normal" they look equal to her at least, this one was different and maybe was the height difference or how she shrugged her arrow but she couldn't help feel something sinister coming from Wynne.
Without hesitation she created another arrow and shoot it at her approaching foe, she aim at one of her legs this time as that might give her a slight advantage, if she can't flash step she won't be able to catch Eleonora that easy and the blonde can keep her distance and keep shooting, whether she hit or not the German would turn around and start to run to create more distance looking back from time to time to keep eyes on her foes

"What other reason could be? You are Shinigami and I'm a Quincy. The moment we both reach the park the fight was inevitable, I'm done with running away so I took my chance" As the Quincy retreated, Wynne grinned sardonically. What a naive way to see the world. Just because the two were different they had to fight? Not only that, the girl claimed she was done running away, yet here she was fleeing all the same. Quite ironic if Wynne had to say. But if that was how the girl wanted it to be, then so be it. Who was Wynne to deny her a battle?
Crouching down and unsheathing her zanpakuto, Wynne took the next arrow on the shaft of her blade. Or attempted to. It was a little too fast, so she only managed to block half of it while the other half damaged her leg slightly, which was a little annoying. While the arrows didn’t do much damage, she still didn’t want them to keep hitting her leg. Her mobility wasn’t all that fast to begin with, and having it slowed down even more would make this battle a complete pain. The fact that the Quincy was trying to keep her distance was cute, but Wynne didn’t need to be close to be a threat. And she would show this girl why this was the case.
Walking over to a nearby bench, Wynne easily uprooted it from the ground with her enormous strength. Carrying it with her left hand, she eyed the area where Eleonora was before lobbing it underhanded in her general direction. It wasn’t her hardest toss, but it was enough that if it hid, it would give the girl quite the number of bruises. She didn’t want to kill the woman after all. She had some questions. Recently she had been meeting more and more Quincies and she was curious if they all knew each other. Since she seemed to be the weakest of the lot, this was the one she’d be doing the questioning with.
As the bench soared through the air, Wynne continued her slow walking pace. If Eleonora tried to escape, she could just Shunpo to cut her off. She didn’t think the girl was aware she had that technique in her reservoir yet, so she decided to keep it under wraps for now. It was nice to have a trump card for when you might need it. Even if the battle seemed to be in your favor. After all, Wynne didn’t think she’d lost an arm a week ago and she did. One could never be too careful after all. “You still think you shouldn’t run?”

After creating enough space between them Eleonora would turn to face Wynne once more, she didn't see if her arrow landed but considering the speed at which the Shinigami moves and the way she took her first arrow the blonde assumed that it did and it barely did any damage again, either way everyone has a pain threshold and as tall and imposing the soul reaper was, she would too eventually fall... Hopefully.
What the Shinigami lacked in speed she made more than enough in the strength department as with zero effort Wynne picked up a bench and throw it in Eleonora's direction, the blonde jump to her right and kept herself on the ground looking at what was left from the bench, if that hit her it would've been extremely bad but fortunately for her she still had the range advantage which could be cut by a flash step in any second but until that happens she'll exploit this advantage as much as she can.
There was both a problem that also worked as a blessing and that was their battlefield, the park was extremely open and didn't have many things she could use to hide but that also meant that she can keep an eye on Wynne at all times, she had to find a way to shoot her arrows from a safe place and making sure the soul reaper doesn't reach her but at the moment there weren't many options.
"Why? So I let my guard down and you corner me with a flash step?" She question when Wynne ask her if she was sure about not running, truth be told she would definitely try once she's sure that the soul reaper can't follow her "I may be blonde but I'm not dumb, I know a thing or two about you Soul Reapers"
Eleonora would hide behind some bushes and aim her bow at the soul reaper's right leg, if she kept herself away from Wynne's field of view it would make it easier for her to land her shots if the Soul Reaper doesn't see when an arrow has been charged and released, she's counting on the arrow traveling faster than what Wynne can react and the Shinigami not being that good at energy sensing.

At first Wynne didn’t really mind the Quincy, but the longer the battle went on, the stronger her annoyance began to grow. Especially when the girl began to throw in little quibs as she ran further and further away while pelting her with her pathetic little arrows. "Why? So I let my guard down and you corner me with a flash step? I may be blonde but I'm not dumb, I know a thing or two about you Soul Reapers" While she did know about her flash step, the Quincy was acting as a stereotypically dumb blonde, and Wynne had grown tired of playing nice. Perhaps with some broken bones the girl would learn some humility?
The thrown bench was a loss cause, but Wynne has expected as much. All of her strength was coming to bite her in the ass, since if she actually wanted to hit the girl she could, it would just kill her. The problem was she wanted to question her. Which would be hard to do if the girl was a corpse. As corpses couldn’t talk. As the blonde dove behind some bushes in plain sight of Wynne, she had to wonder what the Quincy expected to happen. Clearly Wynne saw her dive behind that particular set of green shrubbery, so naturally she knew where she was. Did she really expect her to close her eyes and forget she ever saw her head in that particular direction?
Either way the moment the girl vanished from Wynne’s sight, the shinigami vanished in a Shunpo. It didn’t take a genius to realize what Eleonora’s plan was. To launch an attack now that she was hidden. It was what Wynne would do and it was exactly what the girl would have done. And now that Wynne was no longer in the same spot, the arrow shouldn’t be able to hit the same leg that she had been trying to so desperately hit the whole fight. Which had been rather annoying.
Reaching out for the bush the girl was in, Wynne would make a vague overhanded sweep with her left arm, aiming to grab Eleonora. She wasn’t sure where the girl was in the brush, but it was only so large, and Wynne’s arm span was quite wide, so her hand should be able to reach. As long as she didn’t have a step technique, the shinigami should be able to grab onto something. This mockery of a battle had gone on long enough. It was time for the Quincy to answer some of her questions and to stop peppering her with arrows.
A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique, the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from Point A to Point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move. Those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it for an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower. This requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become tired more easily in a shorter amount of time. A single step magnifies speed for that step by ten times. Shunpo uses fifty Reiatsu per step. This one is automatically learned in the academy. All Shinigami know this when created. This technique does not take up a technique slot.

Eleonora knew that there wasn't much that she could do on this situation outside of stalling and maybe hopefully tire her opponent before herself, but maybe that was just was her being too naive and hopeful, of course she wouldn't outlast a Shinigami with how weak she is, despite what she might've thought the result of this "fight" was set since the beginning and would end the moment Wynne decided to stop playing fool.
And so in the blink of an eye her target disappeared from where she was and the arrow missed completely, that was the famous flash step she has heard about and it was certainly impressive, as the blonde took a second to process what just happen she saw a shadow looming over her hiding spot and she knew that this was over, she tried to escape but the hand of the soul reaper catch one of her legs and was pulled out with relative ease.
"Put me down!" The Quincy started flailing trying to free herself, as she did a pair of tubes and hilts fell from her jacket to the grass, Quincy tools that she carried but still had no idea how to use. "You just gave me a bigger target!" She said as she ready her bow one more time and the arrow was form.
But she didn't shoot, deep down she knew it wouldn't do anything and that it would only made things worse for her (as if things weren't bad enough), she just let the arrow fade, drop the bow to the grass and let herself hang from Wynne's grip, hopefully the soul reaper would feel bad after having her face to face and seeing how weak she actually is,or she could end her quickly and move on to whatever she was doing before the blonde decided to attack

As the smaller girl flailed in her grip, Wynne felt a vein begin to pulse in her forehead. Did the little Quincy just not know when to quit? Perhaps a little threatening was in order. “Here’s how the next few minutes are going to go. I am going to ask you a few questions. You are going to answer them. If you don’t, I am going to take you by the leg. This leg I have here, see?” Shaking Eleonora up and down from the leg she currently had in her grip, Wynne made sure to rattle the smaller girl’s brain from her sheer strength alone. The Quincy might have thought she stood a chance due to the distance between the two, but now that the two were touching, the battle was already over. She would no longer be able to escape and the quicker she realized this, the faster this would be over.
“And then I will slam you into the ground. Thanks to my strength, your body will turn into a bloody pulp. I’m sure the two of us don’t want that to happen, no?” Twisting her head to face Eleonora, Wynne waited for a sign of confirmation. Her opponent had already dropped her bow, so she doubted Eleonora would be a problem, but you could never be too sure. She was the one who had started this fight to begin with after all, so there might be some fight still left in her. One last stand or something equally as foolish.
“Start with your name and any information about your allies that you can give me.” If Eleonora chose to be tightlipped, that was fine as well. Attacking a shinigami was a crime, so if the Quincy thought she was getting away scot free to begin with, then she had another thing coming. Everyone’s actions had consequences, and if Wynne’s mood was worse, then the girl would already be dead. But since she was feeling generous, Eleonora would live to see another day, plus her arrows didn’t hurt that bad, so it would leave a bad taste in her mouth if she killed the shorter girl.
Post by Eleonora Schmidt on Jan 18, 2022 20:28:50 GMT -5
Now it felt like the Shinigami was rubbing salt in the wound by shaking her like that, being interrogated was weird but if it somehow keeps her alive while she looks for a way out she'll play along, the threat was a bit uncalled for because Wynne would get less by trying to kill her than letting her live and that was something the blonde knew.
"Threatening me won't do much" she said in a monotone tone, trying not to show fear nor trying to anger the soul reaper even more "If you were going to kill me and leave me to turn into a hollow I'm sure you'd already done it by now" Whatever questions she has for the blonde surely mean her life is worth something right now.
Eleonora tilted her head at the first question, allies? What allies? If she had any she would've call them by now, was this a joke? Either way she wasn't in a good position to snark at the soul reaper so for now she'll have to be a nice girl and answer whatever Wynne wants.
"Eleonora Schmidt" She said, it was a simple answer as her name would mean nothing to the shinigami since she was a nobody, just a lonely Quincy "I have no allies, I'm alone" While not false, there are a couple of people that the German considers friends and possible "allies" yet non are here and she wouldn't call them in these situation, at least not at the beginning, she could definitely use a hand now.

“What is it that you think Shinigami do? We slay hollow not create them Eleonora.” Staring at the woman in disgust, Wynne rolled her eyes. She could hardly believe what she had just heard. Did the woman in her arms really think so little of shinigami? Killing the girl was one thing, but not purifying her immediately and letting her turn into a hollow was another. And Wynne was not so craven and evil to do such a thing. She had at least some sort of moral compass! Not much but a little! Shaking Eleonora a little bit more for good measure, the enormous shinigami wondered what to do. Was the Quincy telling the truth? How was she to tell?
Rubbing her chin in thought, Wynne debated for a few moments before an ingenious idea occurred to her. The past few minutes had been annoying, and the woman before her had been a pest. And Eleonora needed to learn that her actions would indeed have consequences. What she was about to do might not necessarily be legal, but Wynne was also technically a traitor, so she really didn’t care at this point anyways. Slinging the Quincy across her back, the shinigami allowed a large menacing grin to appear on her pale face. “Prepare yourself for a trip Eleonora. We’re going to the Soul Society.”
Pulling out her zanpakuto and stabbing it into the air, Wynne opened up a doorway home. The girl in her arms could try to resist, but her grip was tight. There would be no escape from her, and if she wanted to live, then Eleonora would do as she was told. Wynne would probably be in a little trouble for doing something like this, but it was a good thing that she was a Kuchiki. You could get far in life as a noble, something she hadn’t been doing much. Perhaps it was time to change that? Might as well use all the advantages you can get right?
