Today was a dull day, much like any other as was the usual for patrol days for the Realm of the Living. There wasn’t much to do except keep an eye out for anything suspicious, and since Wynne’s senses were quite pitiful, she didn’t notice much. So even if there was a hollow about, unless it was right in front of her, she wouldn’t even notice it. She’d probably need to get to training her senses more eventually, but that wasn’t as easy as it seemed. Such a thing just didn’t come naturally to her. It used to, but nowadays the spark she used to have for the task just vanished. Where it went she knew not.
Her patrol route had her guarding some random town out in the countryside. And she had a sneaky suspicion that hollows didn’t even come this far out. No, more than likely this little mission was punishment for her little vanishing act to Hueco Mundo a few weeks back. She didn’t mind it though since the only thing she had to suffer through was a little boredom. Only another day or so of this and she’d be back home where she could go back to training and be doing something productive with her life.
At least the scenery was nice. So was the weather too. The sky was a nice cool blue, and the wispy clouds reminded her of cotton candy. The hills and fat sheep allowed her mind to wander which helped with her boredom somewhat, but not by much. And there was only so much pushups she could do before getting tired of physical workout. She liked exercising, but she wasn’t a musclehead so working out 24/7 wasn’t really something that she wanted to do. Letting out a sigh, Wynne continued staring at the clouds in the sky as she waited for more time to pass. Who knew being a shinigami could be so boring?

Astrid was not having a good day. Turns out that just because she had a few minions at her beck and call didn't mean shit in the Forest of Suicide. In fact it turns out that now that she HAD minions she was in fact getting taken seriously by a lot of things. And sadly that meant Astrid was getting killed. . . A lot. In fact it was more times in a day than she EVER remembered getting killed for however long it was prior to now. Something Astrid was NOT kosher with. And in fact it made her furious. She'd growled out and yelled at her minions but they'd just looked at her confused.
Thus came today when Astrid was stalking through the Suicide Forest uncertain of what to do. When loe and behold as she was wandering she came upon a door. A conviently placed door that was in her usual place of residence. Her eyes narrowed and she growled loudly as she looked around the open venue. Her minions did much the same but none of them could find anything out of the ordinary. . . aside from the door. And honestly Astrid already knew who had made such a door. One of two akki that had an avid interest in her, and it was the one she preferred between the two. Alastor. And no, just because she preferred to deal with him didn't mean she was fond of him. If anything she was more concerned of him given he understood where she was at much more than the alternative. Orobas.
With a quick glance behind her she took note of 2 wispy humanoids and her canine hollow. It wasn't a full pack nor was it the full number of "easy" minions she could summon but they should do. Afterall her last excursion into the human world had her use all 5 and that was overkill. Though admittedly it did entertain her immensely. With a low growl she caught the attention of her canine companion and motioned, via her head, to the door. It simply nodded and walked past her towards it. Once it was next to it she looked at the wispy humanoids and motioned for them to be on either side of her but behind her. She'd been sneak attacked enough of late and the severe case of "lack of head attached to neck" was wearing on her greatly.
With her rudimentary group put where she figured they'd be best suited she motioned for the canine to open the door. It put it's head against the door and thankfully it opened with ease quickly revealing a remote countryside village. Astrid could immediately tell it wasn't anything like her prior envirorment if only due to how much lighter the air was. Truthfully she rather enjoyed that and it was cool to the touch so her tendrils wriggled happily as she quietly cooed. Another nod towards the canine and they all began to walk through the door. Once the two wisps had walked through the door immedately shut closed causing Astrid to roll her eyes. Now she knew he was watching even if he had no legitimate way of actually seeing her.
Paranoia aside Astrid quickly noticed that this village was a bit far off but what wasn't far off was the nearby sheep farm. And if those big boi sheep weren't appetizing to anyone else Astrid would have called them fools. Assuming she could conjure a coherent thought in between her pangs of hunger and the currently salivating mouth. The sap she produced was growing stronger in scent by the moment and her mental capacity to think past her hunger was rapidly deteorating. In fact she didn't even consider that maybe there was a shinigami nearby. Or a hollow. Or anything really. She simply wanted to eat and eat she would if she had anything to say.
Thus it should come as no surprise to anyone present that Astrid immediately got up on her canine companion and immediately motioned to the sheep far with her right tendrils. The canine hollow nodded and immediately began running towards it as fast as possible. The humanoids were a moment behind as they hadn't realized Astrid and her canine compatriot had began running. Thankfully for Astrid she was invisible to those without spiritual power so she needent fear for any pesky passerby's well. . . until she was covered in blood. That might be an issue, especially at this time of day but that didn't matter to her. She was going to eat, no feast upon the entire farms worth of sheep. And once she was done she'd be able to focus on the humans around. It'd hopefully be easier than trying to hunt in the Suicide Forest but that was assuming nothing was present. Unfortunately for Astrid. . . there was.

Thankfully something more exciting came Wynne’s way in the form of a menagerie of creatures. Hollowlike yet vaguely hellish? She wasn’t sure what exactly the creatures were, but they were obviously something she was going to have to deal with. They were also trying to devour the poor sheep innocently grazing on the grass which she wasn’t going to allow on her watch! Those sheep had helped her pass the time. She had even named a few of them. Terry and Samantha would not die valiantly on this day!
The creature at the front took on the form of a canine with a hollow like mask while the two that followed behind it had a more of a humanoid appearance. Their forms were shrouded in black fog, so Wynne couldn’t get a good look at their forms, so she wasn’t too sure what was going on with their bodies. Behind them was another humanoid monster who looked to be composed of roots and vines, abominable in appearance. Four creatures in total, which didn’t bode well for her since that meant she was outnumbered. Fun. Hopefully they weren’t too strong or she’d be in for a tough time.
Charging towards where the sheep were, Wynne pulled out her zanpakuto. While she had strength in abundance, speed was not her forte. And now it was coming back to bite her in the ass. By the time she reached her opponents, some of the sheep would be devoured. Sure it shouldn’t really matter to her, but she had been watching these sheep for days! She liked these sheep! Who were these monsters to come here and just kill these animals as they pleased? Letting out a growl, Wynne picked up a nearby fence post with her left hand and lobbed it at the wispy humanoid. It wouldn’t do much damage due to the shoddy construction but it would attract their attention. Plus getting a bunch of splinters to the face wouldn’t be a pleasant experience regardless. Flimsy wood or not, anything thrown with her strength was a projectile to be reckoned with.
“Get away from those sheep!” Right now, Wynne was currently uphill a decent distance away from the monsters while Astrid and the rest of her group were downhill next to the grazing sheep. Hopefully with her distraction, they’d leave the animals alone and approach her, but you could never tell with monsters like them. One positive thing about this situation was that there were no people around, so Wynne didn’t have to worry about them being involved. Perks of being stationed in the countryside.

Astrid continued to drool large volumes of sickly sweet sap. And as usual it dripped and spluttered all over her poor canine companion. She'd have to feed him some of the souls she'd eat later. Really. Even Astrid knew it had to be aggravating to be drooled upon. With that mental note made and quickly buried beneath her unending hunger she took notice of how close the sheep were now. Oh they were even better up close! Astrid barely waited long enough to jump off her canine companion but once she was close enough she did and she immediately latched onto it's torso and immediately started tearing into it's neck.
The sheep bleeted out in distress and caused the other sheep to start scrambling, especially when the blood of the sheep Astrid was on started painting her. This gave the other sheep the means to see her and they quickly realized their companion was being eaten alive. Meanwhile the canine hollow had gone for the first closest sheep and had tackled the poor thing to ground before using it's front paws to jump directly onto it's face and splatter it's skull and brain matter against the ground. It smiled wide and began to bounce on the sheep's body to crush it further and further into paste. The poor thing thankfully didn't have to experience the further desecreation to it's body but to anyone watching, namely Wynne, it'd be sickening. Shortly after smashing the rips and each leg the hollow began to feast on the paste and pulp beneath it.
Meanwhile the wisps had take note of the shinigami. Namely the wisp that had been nearly lobbed in the face by a fence post. They were fast but so was the fence post. And the worst part was that it only realized what was happening a few moments before it occured. It managed to smack the fence up and thus shatter it but that was just it. The damn thing shattered and caused a good deal of splinters to get embedded into its fist and right side. It didn't scream out in pain though it began to bleed the same wispy substance that it was made of. Just a bit more noticeably. The other wispy humanoid immediately ran over after the fact and looked it's companion over. Once it deemed it fine they both immediately stared at Wynne.
Mind you they didn't have eyes. They didn't really have any facial features to begin with. But there was some amount of displeasure and definitely a direct look at Wynne in particular. Still that only lasted a second as the two immediately ran up the hill to go after Wynne. They were about 2 feet apart from one another and were dead set on ensuring Wynne wouldn't be throwing anything else at either of them or Astrid if they had their say in the matter. But even still she was about 20-30 feet away so it would take a few moments before they could reach her so Wynne would need to come up with a battle plan quick.
Once up there the wisp on the right, (Wynne's left) would immediately start throwing hands against Wynne. Mainly aiming for torso blows, preferably the stomach area but any opening would do. The other circle around Wynne and look for another easy to rip out fence post and if it found one would grab it, tear it out, and then subsequently move to Wynne's backside and try to slam her with it. If it shattered into pieces oh well. If not it'd keep using it and try to hit her again and again and again until it finally landed or the poor thing broke. Once broken it'd simply follow it's compatriots main method of attack and start fisticuffsing Wynne but from her alternate side.
All the while Astrid simply continued to munch on the sheep before her. If Wynne had any time to focus on Astrid she'd see the poor thing wasn't even skin and bones by this point. Astrid was almost done gorging the first sheep with her entire frontside covered in blood and viscera. Much like her canine companion who'd also covered his paws, mouth, mask, and some of his chest with blood from the sheep he'd smashed into pulp. A good bit of drool was coming from it also given it'd also been exceedingly hungry prior and had now finished up it's first snack. And from the look of the eyes in the eye holes of it's mask it was just a hairs bredth from going into a hunger induced rage against the sheep before it. Simply put neither creature had truly taken note of Wynne just yet and likely wouldn't unless Wynne killed a wisp or somehow managed to redirect their attention to her as opposed to the currently fleeing sheep.

Sadly the poor sheep that kept Wynne company were not meant to live in this world for much longer. The canine hollow not only tackled one of them to the ground, but also proceeded to beat the poor animal to death and splatter its remains across the ground. Truly a gruesome scene to behold. When she closed the distance upon the beast, she’d be sure to return the favor. Terry’s death would not be in vain. He didn’t deserve to die in such a way. Especially not in front of his siblings.
Her fence post didn’t do much damage to the other hollow, but that was to be expected. It did its other job well and attracted the beast’s attention, bringing it and it’s other partner towards her. As they ran up towards her, the other two hollows continued feasting on the sheep, leaving Wynne only outnumbered two to one. While she hated that some of the sheep had to die, she used their death to their advantage. Since the hollows were foolish enough to not attack her all at once, she’d make them regret it. She’d also had the high ground, something they didn’t take into account.
Rushing down to meet the wisp on the right, Wynne would meet it with a powerful dropkick from above. If her blow was successful, she would send it tumbling right back down the hill, letting gravity do the rest of the work. The fall wouldn’t be a pleasant one, and it would take the wisp quite a bit of time to return, allowing her more time to fight the other one. Divide and conquer was Wynne’s plan. While the size of their group was worrying, it was only a problem if they were all grouped up. As long as she separated them, she could make it work.
As for the other wisp, Wynne would turn around and block its attack with her zanpakuto, aiming to trade blows with the monster. Her weapon was stronger than the fence post it pulled up, so she was confident in winning the exchange. If it wanted to keep slamming blows against each other to see which person would break first then so be it. She was confident in her strength and her weapon. Letting out a grunt, Wynne put all of her energy into her slashes as the two exchanged blow after blow. The longer she took, the more sheep died. Time was of the essence!

The wisps quickly found out that Wynne was far more capable than the last set of shinigami they'd faced. Enough so that Wynne even got a pretty solid hit in against the wisp to her front and managed to yeet the damn thing all the way back down the hill. The other in the meantime was managing pretty well however against her despite the "weapon" it'd decieded to use rapidly deteriorating. After the third swing, which had allowed the wisp to block Wynne's swing it'd break apart. This is where the tables would turn, and it wouldn't be in Wynne's favor for a couple of reasons.
The first and foremost being that without the clunky and awkward fence post the wisp before Wynne was able to utilize it's full speed. Which compared to Wynne's meant it was at a pretty solid advantage. With a bounce in it's step and a stance that focused on it moving and landing hits the wisp would be avoiding most of Wynne's hits with relative ease. Occasionally however when Wynne was done with a swing or resetting to the beginning of another it would throw out a right hook toward her side. These weren't going to be at it's full force given they were meant to stack up hits as opposed to landing debilitating attacks. But should enough of these blows hit and start giving Wynne a series of bruises she'd have to start slowing down further given her body just wouldn't be able to keep up.
In the meantime however the wisp at the bottom of the hill had rolled down and finally landed into the nearby fencing that was the sheep's housing. Astrid being effectively done comsuming the last remnants of the sheep before her took note of this and followed where it had rolled down from. That's when she saw her, the shinigami. Wynne. Now Astrid had no special hatred towards her but something deep inside her was raring up and lighting a fire within her. They were interrupting again. AGAIN. Every time something important was happening they made inserted themselves. Something within Astrid snapped and thus she screeched out as loudly as possible flaring her own reiatsu in the process.
While this was being done her mind screamed for more minions. More that could take on this shinigami and one that could get her there with relative safety. 4 noteworthy souls responded. 2 of them Shinigami, one of them Orobas's hason she'd consumed and the last was a new one she hadn't realized was present within her. Something that unironically was well suited to this exact situation. From her back four flowers blossomed on her small shrub tree. The first two were a dark purple, the third was bright salmon, and the last was pure white. The dark purple upon having their petals blown away by a breeze coalesced into two former shinigami however their bodies looked akin to a bound pluses. Ethereal, see-through and oddly enough colored with a dark purple haze. Even their eyes shined brightly with purple and at their sides were zanpakuto's of their own.
The salmon flower, likes it's purple compatriots before lost it's petals before they recollected and formed into Arma. Once a fellow hason and now Astrid's minion albiet with a tad more knowledge on the current situation given he actually had a sense of self that remained. With a quick glance around soon realized that he was in the countryside and just as Astrid initially had been, was incredibly ecstatic over this. "Oh the human world! It's been a long time since I last had the opportunity to be here. Though I can't say I remember this exact place. . . hmmm. . . Are we possibly in New Zealand? Oh! Hey Astrid, what ca- Oh. . . It's a fight again isn't it? Awww. . . You need to summon me to just hang out as opposed to fighting."
Astrid was too angry at the moment to really hear Arma out though if this how he was going to act she'd have to summon him less frequently. She far preferred her quiet summons. Speaking of minions her last one was finally showing itself from the petals came out a hollow the likes of which even she hadn't realized she'd eaten. It was a snake. . . with wings. Though it's face was a bit more elongated and it had whiskers? Even Astrid had to do a double take on it given she'd never seen this thing in her life. With little concept of what it was or what it could do she almost growled out in anger until she noticed it's only limbs that weren't it's serpentine body were a pair of large wings scaling 4 feet long each. And given it was 10 feet long and about 3 feet thick this thing was more than capable of being used to fly over Wynne.
Even Astrid had to admit she was mildly impressed. With a quick growl out to the wisp, Arma, the shinigami, her canine, and her now flying serpent companion she barked out a bestial order to kill the shinigami. The rest nodded their heads while Arma simply sighed. If Astrid had looked she could have sworn she might have even seen him with a couple tears on the sides of his eyes. Very strange for a hellion as far as Astrid was concerned. Instead she'd focused on her new mount and ordered it to fly up and circle around Wynne. With a head nod it waited until Astrid had wrapped herself around it's body before flying up and over towards Wynne.
The other summons looked to Arma who was currently the most intelligent of the bunch. With a quick look towards the wisp that was currently boxing Wynne he knew what needed to be done. "Circle around back. Cut off her route to escape. Myself and the male shinigami will keep her from having her other side as an escape route. Hopefully Astrid will support from above. . . *sigh* I really hope that this shinigami doesn't end up like these two. Maybe I could help her escape? Astrid will be mad but if there's an opening maybe. Still . . . she's already pretty mad for some reason. . ."
With another sigh he motioned for the male shinigami and the canine to join him in running up the hill to Wynne. Meanwhile the female shinigami and the humanoid wisp were circling around the hill to ensure Wynne had no other escape routes. And last but not least was Astrid atop her flying steed with all 6 eyes glaring pure anger at Wynne. A moment later she let out a roar towards her that sounded like boulders falling down a mountain from how gravelly it was. It wouldn't be long before Wynne was completely surrounded.
{Durability of summons} 100/300 for Wisp (drop kicked) 300/300 for other wisp 300/300 for shinigamis 300/300 for hollow canine 300/300 for flying serpent
Post by Wynne Kuchiki on Jan 4, 2022 12:24:42 GMT -5
It was all going well, until it wasn’t. Just like Wynne had assumed, the fence post couldn’t stand up against her zanpakuto, and had broken against her weapon in the first several exchanges. The same could not be said for her opponent's limbs. Grimacing in pain, Wynne was forced to endure blow after blow of her opponent’s attacks as the wisp launched several rapid fire hits off. While she managed to block some of them, most of them came out too fast for her to react to, forcing her to suffer through them. And judging from the force of the blow, they were sure to leave bruises. Her body would be a myriad of shaded colors by the end of today, that was for sure.
Heaving the wisp off of her to give herself some distance, Wynne glared at her opponent angrily. Were all of these monsters so strong? If they were, perhaps she was in over her head. She was already struggling with this one. And she still had several more to go. Hearing loud noises from behind, Wynne circled around her opponent so that she was once more facing downhill. And what she saw brought an even greater frown to her face. Even more monsters for her to deal with. And this time around one of them could even fly. Some type of serpentine one, at least ten feet long.
As it began to fly towards her Wynne wondered what to do. If it wasn’t clear before, it was clear now that she was in over her head. Should she flee? Judging from how the other monsters were circling around her it was a little too late for that. She was also a little too slow for such a task anyways. In that case she needed to prioritize the biggest threats first, which was the flying monster. The only problem was, she didn’t really have a way to deal with it. She knew Byakurai, but that was like throwing a toothpick at it. Except in her case, throwing a toothpick would actually do more damage in her case.
Unfortunately for her, the countryside was actually hurting her odds of winning this fight. There wasn’t much she could use as projectiles here to lob at the serpent. Just random bits of fence post, but with how big the serpent was, it wouldn’t do much. Maybe cause it a bit of an annoyance, but that was it. Not only that, but she had the green tree looking lady glaring daggers at her for some reason. Truly a mystery why. She hadn’t even attacked that one yet, so she wasn’t sure why that monster was so angry at her. But who knew how the brains of those creatures worked.
Either way she’d have to give it her all. Her escape routes were all cut off, so if these creatures wanted to kill her, she was going to make them work for it. Pushing her foot off the ground and towards the wisp in front of her, Wynne would charge towards it in a burst of speed before slamming her zanpakuto towards its lower chest with all her strength. The aim was to bisect it in half as quickly as she could before moving on to the next one. She would have to deal with all the ground enemies first and hope the wyvern landed before trying to attack it. If it didn’t land, then she was out of luck.
A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique, the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from Point A to Point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move. Those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it for an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower. This requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become tired more easily in a shorter amount of time. A single step magnifies speed for that step by ten times. Shunpo uses fifty Reiatsu per step. This one is automatically learned in the academy. All Shinigami know this when created. This technique does not take up a technique slot.

Astrid was pure anger and adrenaline at the moment. Not due to being physically harmed but just from how intense the growing firestorm was within her. Still though there was a part of Astrid that wonder genuinely being as angry as she was. It would be one thing if this was a hellion, namely Akki. They were assholes. But even the shinigami from last time were so pathetic she couldn't exactly hold a grudge against them. After this fight she'd attempt to ponder it. . . after consuming the remainder of these sheep of course. Maybe the humans here too if she could manage it.
For now though she was going absolutely destroy Wynne if given the opportunity and it seemed she would be given just that. Wynne had however pretty reliably kill the wisp before her by using the increased speed to surprise the wisp. It had no chance to react and it was promptly cut in half in the process. This is the first time Wynne would hear anything and it would be a groan mixed with a gas leak sort of sound before it poof into flower petals and flew back to Astrid. The petals then became a new flower bud waiting for her to summon them again. This however did actually piss off Astrid given she had never fully considered her minions could die this easily. Sure they DID die in Hell but they died to thing vastly stronger than Wynne so it made sense. This? This was upsetting.
With a loud growl Astrid immedaitely ordered her mount to attack Wynne. And to her surprise it had a . . . unique method of attack. Instead of flying down and attempting to side swipe or bite Wynne or even curl around her it instead proceeded to use a ranged attack. It, as disgusting as it would sound, projectile vomited at Wynne and a few feet before her. This would effectively limit any immediate foothold 15 feet in front of her doused in potent stomach acid. Not quite what Astrid had in mind givne she wanted it to outright kill Wynne but she couldn't have specified an attack given she had no knowledge on what this thing could do. However it did start making her think of Bubbles. So perhaps she could have it do something similar?
Arma in the meantime was coming up from Wynne's left side while his allies were coming up her right, having successfully managed to get up the hill and now be only 15 feet away from Wynne. That's when the idea hit him, if he rode on the hollow and perhaps he asked Astrid to hit the other wisp maybe this would, with a little luck and a lot of effort on Wynne's part, give her the opening she needed to get away. He couldn't directly go against Astrid's orders but he could recommend less. . . directly aggressive orders. Especially since he knew even if the spirits died they were still ultimately bound to Astrid. Something that even with the petals returning to her, she hadn't caught on. "Orobas help me when she realizes how her primus actually works. She's going to be way more ruthless than other members of the Sanctus are. I wish I was still working with Orobas, at least the fighting was only as necessary. Astrid just fights because she feels like she must."
Still going with his idea he motions for the canine hollow let him ride it. To which it looks at him strange but with no contradicting order from Astrid laid down and allowed him to ride it. Arma was a good bit heavier than Astrid so it did take a moment for the two to get situated but once they were Arma realized he may have just made a mistake given he was no longer in control of his legs. That was the job of the hollow hound he was riding. This was only further realized once it immediately bolted for Wynne from the side forcing Arma to have to be ready to clash blades, even if only in passing. Still even if Arma had to kill Wynne he would give her the opportunity to see what was going on. "Ah! Excuse me, Ms. shinigami you may want to take note of what's coming from behind you! Also sorry in advance for this!
He readied his sword with both hands while tightening his legs around the hollow. He wasn't about to risk falling off of the hollow. Especially if he would end up falling into the acid. Not a new death for him but definitely not his preferred method. As the hound ran up to Wynne, he'd hold the blade at the right side of the hound so that when it got close he could slash her from the thigh up to her chest. Or if needed he could block her sword with his own. He really hoped it wouldn't break anytime soon. His old was reliable his current he hadn't tested out yet. The hound on the other hand would from up on Wynne's left side and immediately turn to allow for more force to be put behind Arma's blade before jumping away 5 feet and then starting it's own rapid assault.
The wisp and other shinigami however finally made it up the hill and were waiting about 20 feet away from Wynne on both her sides and her back. They simply held out their blades or in the case of the wisp put up it's fists ready for any assault Wynne thought she'd get away with as well as to stop her should she try to run, though that would be easier said than done given the minions as well as Astrid's aerial advatage. Speaking of Astrid she had the serpent hollow fly above, encricling her at about 30 feet away. More than enough to dodge a thrown object or jump, in case she was strong enough for that.
In the meantime it looked like Astrid was still raring to do something but holding onto the serpent instead. Eyes never leaving Wynne. There was almost a part of her that wished she wasn't relying on the spirits. She wanted to kill this one personally but she knew she was fodder herself. It was her spirits that made her hard to kill. So she'd have to stomach it for now. Even if it further infuriated her. The worst part about all this however was that the hunger was slowly starting to come back. And that made her lose herself bit by bit into it's unending maw. If she didn't finish this soon she wouldn't be able to keep herself from reverting to something more base. She needed it to stay at bay but would she have the will to do such? Only time would tell.

Thankfully due to the speed of her Shunpo, Wynne was able to dispatch the Wisp quickly. It didn’t mean much in the end though, seeing as how it had a multitude of companions to take its place. As it died, it let out a groan that sounded like a mixture of a gas leak and a weird poofing sound before vanishing. Which was odd. Definitely not a hollow then. She had purified many hollows in her time as a shinigami, so she knew what a purification looked like. And this was definitely not it. What exactly was she fighting here?
Immediately after dispatching the wisp, Wynne was bombarded with some sort of projectile vomit from above. And since it covered several feet above and around her, she wasn’t able to do much except place her sword and arms above her to protect her head as best as she could. She wasn’t fast enough to dodge, so she just had to endure the painful attack as her arms suffered the burns of the ruthless attack. Wrinkling her nose at the smell of her burnt flesh, she took a moment to glance at the burned garments of her robes. Another hit like that and she wasn’t sure if her arms would be usable anymore. This fight was getting a little bit too dangerous. She needed to leave.
Even though she was stronger than she was before weeks ago, seven enemies was just too much for her to deal with. Combined with the wounds she had just taken, this battle was a lost cause. Once she found an opening, Wynne would flee and report the situation. This creature clearly wasn’t a hollow and wasn’t something she could deal with. It stung to admit it, but it would sting even more if she died here. As she debated on what move to make next, she was interrupted from her thoughts by one of her opponents yelling at her from the side.
"Ah! Excuse me, Ms. shinigami you may want to take note of what's coming from behind you! Also sorry in advance for this!” Grimacing in annoyance, Wynne held out her zanpakuto to meet Arma’s blow. Blocking his attack would hurt her arms immensely, but it wasn’t like she had a choice. Getting her chest cut open would hurt even more, so she’d just have to tough it out. As their two weapons met, she would twist her body around so that Arma was between herself and the hound, giving herself some breathing room and stopping herself from being assaulted from more than one foe at once.
Turning to face the direction Arma came from, Wynne would immediately Shunpo in that direction and flee with all of her speed and strength. With Arma and the hound right next to her, the pathway should be free for her to traverse. The only difficulty would be with them chasing after her. As she ran, she would pick up various fence posts and lob them behind herself, aiming at whoever was closest to her, so she could gain the most distance. This fight was unwinnable, so she needed to leave. It was the only way to survive.

Arma had to admit he was glad she stepped away. The hound was still getting used to his weight and thus coming in for a full blow only to then turn around and move away made it lose some of it's balance. Namely due to it's size. Still it meant that Arma had given Wynne the chance to run off that he was hoping for. The only downside was he and the other summons still had to chase her and attempt to subdue her. And given how much slower she was than all of them, which was more noticeable to him as time passed, she wouldn't get far. If even away. That was only made more apparent by Astrid's screech and subsequent order to catch her.
Speaking of Astrid the serpentine hollows swiftly made sure to follow Wynne, catching up fairly quickly. With another barked out order to fire vomit it launched a slew of orbs of vomit out towards Wynne. 3 in fact that each were aimed at 10 feet in front of her and would explode out into a 5 foot puddle per orb. This created an utterly disgusting 15 foot vomit pool that was rapidly eating away the plant life and even some of the ground given how it bubbled. Still Astrid wasn't pleased by this. She wanted Wynne's head, well really her body for food but still she was making this much harder than it had to be. Astrid however wasn't certain what else to do. Her summons were quickly approaching behind Wynne as was Astrid herself from above.
But she could blink out of existence. . . just like the akki she'd seen. Astrid couldn't for the life of her know it wasn't direct teleportation especially not from the way it looked. It really seemed like Wynne blipped out of and subsequently returned to existence several feet away each time she'd done so. Astrid could do the same but she was limited in range. Moreso than Wynne was likely due to how Placidius worked from her recent memories and how similar the two looked. So how could she eat her? There wasn't a chance in hell she could fight her head on. She was weak and this thing killed a wisp of hers. So what could she do? She was growing frustrated at this every second she couldn't come up with an answer. To make matters worse the hunger was growing.
Lord it was growing. And her senses let alone her mind was starting to get the best of her. Coherent thought was a struggle. And one she was going to lose soon. Still an idea popped into her head. If this one wanted to teleport Astrid also needed to teleport. And she needed to do so sooner than later but wait for her opening like every good predator does. Thus she quickly drew 3 sigils on the back of the beast she was riding. Two of which went to the back of her hands and one placed itself inside her chest cavity. This shinigami's days were numbered she just needed a moment. A second through which she could snap and appear next to Wynne to attack. She had some will left so she would wait but she wasn't going to wait for long.
For now however once she'd forced Wynne to move to another direction or stop entirely she ordered her serpent to fly lower down towards 15 feet from the ground so they could attempt to vomit more orbs at her. They needed to reign her in but Astrid was going to tell it when to fire she just had to wait a few moments. Something told her it would be soon when it'd be right to fire them. The issue however was just how wrong she'd be. Given the lack of terrain to slow down Astrid and her mount she'd be the closest inevitably dealing with Wynne's momentary pauses to pick up objects and hurl them at her. The first few the serpent avoided by wiggling around but the later ones required it to actually spit out acid to melt them or hit them away.
Meanwhile her ground based minions weren't that far behind, every moment she paused to pick up and throw something they got closer. Arma was leading the pack and had motioned again for the shinigami to circle around Wynne's right side while her left side was taken care of by the injured wisp. Arma would tackle her head on with his own steed. As he got close however he'd yell out again to her, hoping she'd trust him. "Ma'am you can choose not to believe me but you should turn left! It's already hurt from earlier! The canine narrowed it's eyes at that, a fact that would undoubtedly be brought up later. It was a beast but even it knew when someone was sabotaging the goal of their Master. Astrid however was entirely too focused on Wynne to catch this.
Usable By (Technique is available to which races?): Hason
Technique Element: Sin
Technique Description and Effects:
For Hason they draw their strength the sin that damned them. Their damning sin is engraved into their very being from the moment they are dragged down to the depths. Because of this Hason have an inherent understanding of glyphs, sigils, and runes. That is where this technique was born of. With no means to step like other races Hason had to develop an alternate means of enhanced movement. Sigils takes care of this by creating a node where the user can "step" to so long as there is an alternate sigil. In reality this is teleportation so specified zones.
These sigils being that they are made of reiatsu can be placed almost wherever. In the air, on walls, on objects, and even on the surface of liquids. At creation the sigils can be as far away as 40 feet from the user. These sigils last for 3 posts and cost 50 reiatsu to make. From there as long as the user has two sigils created they can step between them at 12x their speed for 25 reiatsu. Sigils need to be within 60 feet of one another to teleport the hason. These sigils 1ft in diameter at their smallest and up to 2 feet in diameter at their largest.
At this level the user is only capable of creating the basic teleporation sigil in question. Upon learning the technique at this level the user can generate 3 sigils total. Upon reaching mastered the total number of sigils created increase to 4. This technique does not count against the hason's total number of non-release techniques.
How to use technique:
The user focuses their reiatsu into their hands. Then draws a circle while staring at the spot they want the sigil to appear.
Technique Drawbacks:
Sigils have a duration of 3 posts to start and cost 50 reiatsu to create a sigil. 2 Sigils minimum must be available to step. It's very easy to predict where the user will go.

Before Wynne could get very far another set of acid vomit was sent her way, exploding in the area in front of her and around her. And unfortunately for her, she couldn’t get away from the explosion in time. Screaming in pain, she was bombarded with the attack from the front, feeling it eat away at her muscles, rendering her arms useless. Her zanpakuto dropped to the ground with a clank due to the fact her hands were now unable to grip her weapon, the top part of her clothing melted to mere remnants. Acid burns dotted her face, disfiguring what remained of her stoic features.
Panting heavily and trying to keep a mental grip of her sanity, Wynne struggled to keep calm. She was in immense pain, probably the most pain in her life. She was defenseless now, with no weapon. No usable arms to hold it with. While her legs were still vaguely usable, they too were covered in burns, and merely moving them sent shivers of pain through her body. Plus her vision was swarming with spots and darkness. Soon her consciousness would leave her. Was this where she would die? Devoured by these creatures? Like those sheep she saw earlier?
As Wynne struggled to breathe and stay conscious, she was forced to take the shinigami’s tackle headon. In doing so she would collapse to the ground in a heap, and it was there she would stay. No longer able to move. She was spent, no longer able to move her body. Too many wounds sustained. There was only so much her body could take and it had reached its limit. She was at the mercy of these beasts, and she had a feeling that her fate would not be a fair one. But that was what she signed up for when she became a shinigami. Her pain had only just begun.

The shinigami before her kept Wynne pinned down. Hands on her shoulders and its knees on her legs. The other shinigami came up quickly and managed to move her arms behind her and pin them with her own hands. Wynne for all intents and purposes was well and truly fucked now. And this was made only that much more apparent when Astrid finally was close enough to jump off her beastial ride. Granted though jumping from 10 feet did make her fall flat on her face with her leg like tendrils falling on themselves and aching immensely. Astrid however barely noticed as her hunger took her over. She was finally going to eat. Finally going to get her fill of this place starting first and foremost with the shinigami before her.
And Astrid knew exactly how she'd do it. With a head nod she motioned for her canine companion to come closer. It ran up with a dark smile on it's face already sensing what it'd get to do. Arma however quickly got off and tried to reason with Astrid. "Astrid can we . . . not consume her? She's already beaten and bruised up. . . we really don't need to. If you must eat at least let her be and eat the sheep. Then we can leave right?" Astrid growled out loudly to Arma having had enough of him and his passive attitude. They were hellions, she literally HAD to eat to get stronger. Alastor had showed her that much. And the reason she even got to the current level of strength was simply due to consuming the very shinigami that were now pinning their ally.
Astrid was absolutely NOT letting her go nor was she going to spare her. Consequences be damned, it wasn't like she could get any worse right? She literally already went to hell and was struggling to even come out. If she wanted to conquer the forest she'd need to ensure she could obtain the strength necessary. And for that she needed Wynne to be consumed utterly. Hell she'd make a great minion. But Astrid wasn't even thinking that far ahead. She simply continued growling at him and then willed him back to the tree. Which to her surprise he immediately broke apart into flower petals and returned to her tree shrub on her back. With a dark smile she smiled wide and began to drool immense amounts of sickly sweet sap.
And then she looked at her canine hollow and at Wynne. She nodded only for it to nod back. What happened next would probably be the most painful thing Wynne had experienced. In short Wynne would feel a pair of jaws around her shoulder. Teeth sinking directly to the bone and from there the canine hollow began to tear flesh apart with it's claws on its front set of paws and pulled with it's head. It wouldn't take long but eventually the arm was severed at the shoulder only to be given to Astrid. Astrid in turn further split it in half at the elbow and fed half of it to her canine companion while she dined on the other portion. It was perfect. Moreso than Astrid could ever hope to be able to explain. However the event was cut short. As Astrid quickly found herself stabbed through the back.
It was by yet another shinigami. Their zanpakuto having immediately stabbed through her core and promptly opened the gate to hell before Wynne. It was small however just big enough to fit Astrid's size. The light in Astrid's eyes began to dim as she realized she'd been killed yet again but this time was being returned to her domain forcibly. The last thing she saw was her summons exploding into petals and returning to her before she felt something far more painful than the simple blade in her chest. She was utterly consumed by a massive hand that crushed her immediately upon coming in contact with her. From there she was dragged back to hell and the door she entered through was promptly closed. Wynne in the meantime having likely passed out would be taken back to the Soul Society by the shinigami. One arm lost and with acid burns on the other. But alive given some first aid and quick response by squad 4.
