Raphael stumbled out of his bed, groggily looking at his alarm, hoping that it didn’t say what he was afraid it would. Four AM. Yep… Even though he had to get up early, he did NOT want to. But he knew that if he was going to get stronger with his soul command he needed to build up more stamina. As it was he was getting winded far too quickly using it. Only good part about being a spirit was that one was able to do things beyond typical humanity and, for a person to do anything similar required a grueling amount of work. That was why he found himself waking up at the butt crack of dawn.
First phase was a mile run, at least, at normal human speeds. From there, he would go into weight lifting mode for an hour and then, finally, it was time to work on techniques. He’d need to practice with them. One of the most important aspects of his training was to use the techniques to see what kind of insanity they inflicted upon his body. If it injured him too much, or if there was a way to withstand the pain of certain techniques then he would know how best to combat whatever it was that he was going to be using or knew to use it sparingly. Thankfully, he didn’t need to test disentigration too much. He’d done that and knew it’s limitations quite well. He flexed his arms again, recalling the searing pain from his own skin being torn from his muscles. He’d passed out from it…
He took a deep breath and opened the door, heading out into his day, breaking into a run almost right after having left his door. It would best to just get this shit over with. Above all else, Raphael just wanted to get this stupid shit done with and get to the point where he could simply practice his techniques. It was the best part of his workout and one that he couldn’t wait to get to. There weren’t too many people, especially with it just being a suburb of Tokyo, so he didn’t have to worry too much about running into random people.
It only got even less populated the farther out he got and by the time that he stopped to rest, he’d reached the outskirts of even the suburb. He hadn’t been out this way since that time he’d run into the shinigami Kuro. He wondered how that kid was doing, and if he was doing well within his squad. Not that Raphael could ever have been able to tell or, really, find out. But at the very least it was looking to be a good day…
