Plotline: Forty Eight hours ago in a district of the Rukongai not even half the distance away from the Seireitei reports of a strange black portal began to come in. After several hours past and a small group of Shinigami managed to reach the district. They found that a large portion of the citizens had been devoured and some reduced to mere puddles of residue. Horrific and overwhelming were the words sent in a message back to the Seireitei. It's been more than a full day yet during that time a smaller yet more elite group of Shinigami has been put together. They're to investigate what has happened in District Seventeen. Find and rescue any survivors whether they be citizens or the other shinigami. This small has permission to investigate the portal as its believed to be a Garganta that somehow has stayed open.

[Tsukuyomi Kawada]

Running across the dirt surface of the ground beneath his feet was the Vice Captain of the Eleventh Division, Tsukuyomi Kawada. Slender frame and average height moved through the streets like a bullet fired through the barrel of a gun. He’d received the report about what seemed to be a Garganta appearing somewhere in District Seventeen. He didn’t even want to receive permission to investigate and handle this when he heard about it yet going about things officially would be the best course of action not just for the standards of his Division to follow, but for his personal well being too.

Tsukuyomi knew that if he didn’t wait and just went off on his own merit there was a decent chance it could come back on him if he failed. That would be not just a mark against the Eleventh Division, but the Kawada as well. His grandfather would become even more accommodating and more than likely Tsukuyomi would be faced with a punishment he wouldn’t be able to forget. All this red tape had taken up too much time and now Tsukuyomi felt a grip of pressure on him as he worried whether or not any of the citizens in Seventeen would even still be alive.

It wouldn’t be more than half an hour or so as he ran out from the Sixteenth onto one of the dirt roads connecting the Districts. At the same time though he had to question if he was going to be of any use. A garganta if that was in fact what the reports found likely wouldn’t still be open after all this time had passed. Usually they only stayed open long enough for the Hollow in question to either escape or invade so why did the report make it seem like it had stayed open for a significant amount of time. The only thing he could rely on was the fact he’d find out soon once he reached the district.
