Name: Terror Time Participants: Jim (Quincy) - Connor (Shinigami) - Location: Sapporo, Japan Difficulty Level: Hard Setting: Damage Permanent
Plotline: The city of Sapporo one of Japan’s largest industrial super centers with only a few others holding more of the life blood that coursed throughout the island country. Like so many of the other cities that made up Japan this one was usually normal like the majority of the rest of the human world. Times seemed to be changing more and more though as more and more of Japan was assaulted by the spiritual worlds. Today it was Sapporo’s turn to be introduced to the spiritual side of existence.
There was no doubt that there were a couple of spiritual aware humans and perhaps other spiritual entities in Sapporo at the moment even if it was midday. All of them would see the suddenly change in the sky above the busy city. What had been a beautiful clear day was swiftly turning into a strange one with a dense fog yet the fog was a sickly green. They would all be able to feel it the fog was composed of reiatsu what was making it they wouldn’t be able to tell. Nothing was known yet, but whoever was causing this fog more than likely wasn’t doing so out of the kindness in their soul trouble was afoot in the city of Sapporo.
Estimated Enemy Strength: Class 4-1 Estimated Time Until Completion: 4-5 pages Starts: Immediately
At least, her designated day to be "normal". Her recent travels and skirmishes have left her yearning to return to familiar territory, letting her feign ignorance, at least a bit, for the world within her world, the monsters and creatures that lurked within.
She didn't want to think about her life as a Quincy, how everything changed since she witnessed the death of her beloved teacher before her very eyes. She didn't want to dwell on things that were beyond human comprehension. For now, she simply wanted to be a girl that rode the train, walked the streets, just another human in the crowd. She was just a girl who wanted her cold tea, so she dropped by a local tea shop and got her iced green tea.
She was at peace now. She was alone, swirling the contents of her glass with a bamboo straw, watching the ice and tea bag move around as the glass surface began to condense and sweat. She leaned close, taking the straw between her lips and taking her first sip. The cool drink appeased her. She was probably going to have about 4 glasses before she heads to a nearby convenience store to grab a cheap bento and head to the nearby park. A normal day for her.
However, the plans were to change, as the clear sky suddenly turned a shade of green. Her green-blue eyes flick towards the heavens from her seat by the window, her expression immediately changing.
This was not going to be a normal day.
Her tea was left unfinished at the tea shop, and she was out once more in the streets, moving quickly past the by-standers who noticed the sudden change in the sky. Of course, this was something they've never seen before. This wasn't a normal kind of sky. She moved past staring onlookers until she was standing in the middle of the pedestrian lane that cut through the road. She lifts her eyes once more, just like everyone else did at that moment. A green fog, covering the once clear sky.
She didn't know what it is, but a strong presence of reiatsu could be detected. Her gut told her this was an anomaly of sorts. Something was wrong. And whatever it is, it was going to make itself known.

The green haired Quincy seemed to be one of the only spiritual aware humans in Sapporo, Japan or at least one of the few that actually took notice of the sky and now moved out to the streets of the urban jungle. As she starred up at the green fog that now blanketed Sapporo she would certainly feel the reiatsu signature yet beyond the beginnings of a head ache she wouldn't feel anything else. That is until the grunting began.
All around her were the citizens of the city just like her starring up at the fog. So many of them taking videos and pictured with their phones at what they couldn't explain. Instead of a headache though all of these normal humans began to cough and grunt in pain until after a few moments blood began to exit the primary aphorisms. There was no doubt that something was facing Sapporo with pure animosity.
Jim would be faced with a difficult choice now as she watched the humans around her begin to struggle breathing as they coughed up blood all around her. Try as she may to help any of them the young girl was no doctor nor was she a healer. After only a minute or so since the fog had arrived the citizens were changed. Eyes as dark as a void with veins visible yet a dark maroon in coloration. If Jim stayed in the lane she would have to deal with the first half a dozen altered rushing her with every intention of biting her flesh from her bone.

Headrush. Did it come from tilting her head up too long? The green fog crept in and settled itself in the city, and she instinctively held her breath as she pulled up her jacket, covering her mouth and nose in time. Still didn't stop the sudden throb in her head, and a violent haze in her vision, but only momentarily.
She could not hear the grunts, the coughing, and perhaps she was spared with the horrific sounds as various humans, young, old, children, women, men, began to go through spasmodic episodes, blood spurting out of orifices, their eyes rolled back with veins protruding. Jim's skin grew cold, her heart dropping at the sight around her.
Something was wrong. Something was VERY wrong.
The spasms and violent blood loss came swift as the fog, and a moment after, she knew the eyes, now dark staring back at her, where no longer human.
Monsters. Familiar, yet foreign.
She didn't need to think of her next move, as her body acted on her own and made her move. Movement was life, and whatever happened to those humans... she could be next, if she got caught. Like Hollows, feasting on souls. Monsters, feasting on...
She makes a mad dash into the open streets, the sidewalks, rushing straight into the mall, feeling the thunderous rumble of feet behind her as a group of those... creatures trailed behind her. She passed the teashop she was just in in a blur, glancing quick to see her tea still untouched, before turning her gaze to see more of... those, in her way. She utilizes her momentum to slide legs first, missing a sudden grab and lunge for her, going between the legs of the creature, who had its blood drip from its mouth to chin, and flecks of it hitting her forehead during her slide.
She quickly gets to her feet, and runs into the Shopping District. She needed a roof. Elevation. She makes a made dash up the closest stairs of the shopping district.
Move. Just. MOVE!

Jim for the most part was doing fairly well mentally when faced with the changes that were occurring to the citizens around her. Even most of the shinigami who were trained to handle situations of terror and distress would perhaps be unable to handle the horrific alternations that the fog seemed to be causing. Thankfully though Jim didn't try to reason with any of the citizens or save them instead choosing to run for safety.
As she ran more and more of the altered citizens would give chase. It wouldn't be long before Jim reached the mall managing to get inside and avoid direct contact with any of the altered up to this point. Now though she was entering into a congested area of the city with a high population all of which had just been altered. As she reached the staircase to climb she would quickly find an altered man of average size rushing her. She would have to be quick otherwise be forced over the side of the staircase to the dozens of altered at the base.
(All altered citizens have a strength and speed of 100. Please post your stats and skills at the bottom of your next post.)

She stood at the top of an apartment complex, staring off into the distance, not really looking but rather feeling. Her mind was focused on her other senses, trying to pick up any hollow disturbances in the air. She found none, so far. "This area looks clear." She muttered to herself, bringing out a notebook and checking off a box. She leaped then, gliding through the air in the graceful way that Shinigami did to traverse between rooftops, heading towards the more populated area of the city. Today she was tasked with patrolling the city of Sapporo, a dense place of commerce and production, but not much action for the Shinigami. So it was bound to be a very normal day with no surprises.
'Had to fucking jinx it.' Ilya thought about 30 minutes later, standing in the corner of a busy 4 way intersection, next to a traffic light, people passing by unseen. She was staring up at the sky, her glacier eyes widening at the sight of the sky undergoing a rapid transformation. Algae like smog started to suddenly blanket the sky above, descending down onto the ground. Ilya braced herself, quickly bringing up her left hand to shield her nose and mouth, meager protection from the smoke in case it was poisonous, although every little bit would help. Her senses were all firing signals, telling her that the smoke was made of reiatsu. It explained why none of the normal humans around her reacted to it. Ilya walked back, seeking shelter at an alleyway that was three people wide where less of the smoke was was, just in case the smoke really was toxic. The less she was exposed to it, the better. But where had this smoke come from? What was its function? There were many questions that raised themselves in lieu of this event, and Ilya had to find out the answers as she waited in the alleyway to see if the smoke took any effect on her.
Her instinct to run kept her alive up to this point. Movement was life, that was a mantra etched into her system ever since she could remember. However, her flight response wasn't thought out too well as she made a mad dash to a mall area, which, given that this was Sapporo, had its establishment teeming with humans out on business and leisure for various reasons. It was then, when she was getting up the stairs, slowly rising higher, that she got a full view of the mall, filled with blood and bodies with the same color of skin and eyes. Not good.
She looks up to the top of the stairs and just in time too; a medium sized morphed human rushing towards her, it looked like someone in his late 30s, the crisp white polo stained with violent streaks of blood. Could've a young father, a young professional, someone. Whatever he was before this was no more, he was anything but human anymore. At another time Jim would probably try to understand and figure out things, but her mind was wired to getting somewhere far and unreachable. Away---
Everything was happening fast, in seconds. At the bullrush, her mind clicked fast. She knew going head first was a bad idea. She was quick, but not strong. She doesn't know what these things are capable of, and she didn't want to stick around to figure it out. But she was going up, the man was going downwards. She exerted more force than the creature did, so engaging was deadly. But with the thunderous vibrations she felt behind her she knew she couldn't double back. So the moment the creature rushed towards her, she used her momentum, and bent down as she lunged, aiming for the creature's legs. With the speed it was going, and her speed, it could trip and fall over, and give her an opening to keep running up.

Ilya
The Shinigami on duty in Sapporo wasn't one to sit idly by and wait to see what was going to happen or at least, not in the open. She had no problem making it to the alleyway yet now as she stood in the vein of the urban monster she would start to hear the sounds of citizens vomiting, coughing and simply screaming in pain. As for what she herself would feel from the fog in truth there wasn't much at all. She simply would feel a simple headache and not even a potent one at that.
After a few moments though as she stood in the alleyway she would see the sight of someone walking past the other entrance. It was a female who happened to be walking quite lazily. They only stopped just before getting out of sight to look down the alley at Ilya. A loud howl cast by the woman. Ilya would now have to deal with the woman charging down the alleyway like a rabit animal while others were without a doubt coming to the sound of her howl.
Jim
Just how long was this little Quincy girl going to keep running before she faced the fact that she would have to start trimming down the creatures that had once been human. AS a Quincy she had the ability more than likely yet being surrounded would spell disaster for her. Dissipate being blind she was handling the situation very well and even now stuck between the creatures Jim managed to flip the altered in front of her over the side of the staircase.
When she got to the next floor though the second of three Jim would hear the sound of altered humans turning towards her only for them to start rushing her. Just what was she going to do with the three that were only a few feet away. If she stayed in the mall it would only be a matter of time before she was completely outnumbered and driven into a corner. Would she allow herself to be trapped and killed or would she make the hard choice and attack the altered.
Jim just wanted to be normal. Her life has never been normal since birth, from her upbringing to her hearing impairment and experiences not many humans get to go through. While she has accepted her Quincy abilities, she made it a point to not use them until forced to. If there's a way for her to maneuver things without needing to tap into her Quincy side, she'll opt to do that for as long as she possibly could.
And now she's at the end of her proverbial rope. These, things, as she's come to realize, don't give a damn about her desire for normalcy or hesitance to engage. They will hurt her when they get the chance. Her current thoughts remind her of her old mentor: strike, no second thoughts. A well-rehearsed reaction is better than a thought-out action. Don't put into more thought than what your enemy would. And her enemy, is driven by one thing, it seemed: to go after anything that didn't become them, or make everything become them.
Her quick thinking got the results she wanted: the creature from earlier toppled down the steps, and she managed to get to a landing of the 2nd floor. However, 3 more came, and more rushed to the steps. On reaction, she took a Ginto tube from her sleeve. She made quick ASL hand signs to her incantation, fluid movement that accompanied her speech, which was flat-toned, a sign of her limited distinction to words due to her deafness.
“Tilt the goblet to the west; Wolke!” She throws the uncapped tube towards the incoming attackers, and the force of it would shove them off the railings and into the ground below. She then raised her hands on position as if holding an invisible gun. Her hands shook with invisible energy, taking in all the tremors around her. The hoarde's rushing footsteps, the bodies colliding into each other, all movement that created vibrations, gave her power. And in seconds, her Quincy bow, a bow gun, materialized.
She makes a quick turn to face the stairs, watching how they were making quick progress upwards. Motor movement is not lost on them. She takes aim and shoots two bolts in quick succession; one bolt embedding on the left side of the stairs and the other on the right. The placement made the bolts align each other horizontally. Her face was focused in concentration as the bolts began their rapid vibrations, shooting a straight crack from one point to another. The placement would make the stairs crumble and fall, depriving any other of those... creatures access to the upper floor. At least through the stairs where she is now. This would give her enough time to go upstairs and think about what to do next.

Jim was quick to react to the swarm of altered that were now rushing her as she reached the second floor and thankfully her ginto through the use of the technique Wolke was enough to force all of the swarm down onto the floor. It didn't have the force to actually cause any major harm to them. Jim had the technique, but her reiatsu just wasn't potent. She would have to find a different way to deal with them when they got back up or she would have to keep running.
The shooting of the stairs was less successful than what Jim had been hoping for though. While she managed to shoot the stairs sides horizontally and the stairs did break only a small portion of them were broken and fell to the floor below. Roughly three feet fell while the rest of the stairs remained untouched. The altered in front fell while the ones behind looked at the hole for a moment. Jim would have to act fast for the altered behind her were starting to get up and it looked like the ones on the stairs may still be able to get her.

Ilya coughed once or twice, more out of reflexive need to clear her throat than from irritation from the strange smoke. It wasn't even affecting her that much if she thought about it, other than a dull pounding at her temples, reminiscent of a low intensity migraine. She grimaced, listening to the sounds of the retching and vomit splattering on the streets. It was definitely affecting humans.
The sound died out fast though, and for a few moments, there was silence. And then, her senses picked up the sound of footwear scuffing against the gravel. Her head turned, seeing a woman stumbling in the other end of the alleyway, looking very much like she was naught but a puppet being jerkily manipulated by unseen strings. The woman turned her face towards Ilya. Ilya's hand rested on her zanpakutou. For a moment, there was a tense pause. And then the women screeched like a banshee, barreling towards her with reckless abandon, practically a bumrush.
Ilya held her stance, her face betraying her calm and collected movements as there was plain stress written on her face. She wasn't afraid of what was happening, it was more like a constant mantra of 'Fuck, Fuck, Fuck!' in her head at the chaos that was unfolding around her. She didn't know if humans could even touch her right now, or if she could touch them with her body or her blade. If she was still intangible, then that was great, in a way. If not... Well, thats why she was in a stance. She wouldn't be taking a risk like that.
When the woman had closed half the distance, Ilya also lunged forward, her movement precise and practiced compared to the woman's chaotic charge. She dashed past the woman, drawing her sword in a very basic sword move, the Draw Slash, aiming at the woman's waist area as she passed under the woman's reaching arms, to the woman's left. Ilya didn't stop, her next step impacting the ground with more force as it sent her upwards in a jump. She rose up, and then fell down, landing on a fire-escape on the side of a building, finally turning around to see what her sword had done to the woman.

Ilya was faced with a much different situation. Instead of being chased around almost from the start at the moment there was only a single altered that had its new eyes set upon her. Most would probably assume that a shinigami would attempt to reason with the altered seeing them as still human yet Ilya did not. She spoke not a word as she prepared for the charge of the altered only to counter through offense.
When Ilya got onto the fire escape and looked back she would see that the body of the altered female had been cut clean in half by her zanpakuto at the waist. The only problem though was that the altered woman was crawling on the ground using her arms to turn around. How was Ilya suppose to kill that which could survive bifurcated? She would have to come up with an answer soon as altered from the street began to flood the alleyway rushing her and the fire escape at a speed of 100.
