((Training for CTP))
Transfers were not an altogether unheard of thing within the walls of Soul Society. Typically they were arranged when a specific squad was low on manpower, usually due to unfortunate reasons. Most commonly these were among the battle oriented squads. Someone switching from a squad focused on first response to a squad focused on attacking enemies wasn’t a huge change for them. They went from hitting people with swords before anyone else, to being the best at hitting them with swords. Really, that wasn’t much of a difference at all, and so most of those transfers didn’t even raise an eyebrow. There was one transfer that did raise eyebrows though, and that was a transfer into the Fourth Division.
As everyone knows, the Fourth Division isn’t typically seen as a combat squad. Their duties primarily consist of healing the sick, and as far as most people are aware, that’s all that the Fourth Division ever does. Though Kamikawa Hibiki was no longer technically an officer in this squad, he still often acted like he was one. He read the reports about the comings and goings of squad members, as changes in their roster were few and far between, and he kept up on the latest advancements that the squad as a whole was making. Though most of his focus was still on regaining his old powers so that he could lead the squad in earnest again, he did try to keep up with at least that much.
A new name had showed up in the Fourth one day. Koharu Tsu. An older Shinigami that had transferred over from Squad 12. He read her file over to get an idea of what exactly he’d be working with. That much was normal for him, but given that she’d transferred in as the new Vice-Captain, she technically outranked him until he was strong enough to take the Captaincy back. That said, aside from some outliers, most people still generally treated him as the Captain, and he had no real intention of letting some newbie walk all over him. He wasn’t about to try and force his way into respect though. No, he’d earn it properly, through respect, understanding, and a display of talent… even if his talent was limited by his condition.
What caught his interest was that Tsu apparently had a talent for gadgets. Unsurprising given that she was from Squad 12 really. He figured that she’d probably be able to apply some of that know how to the medical field pretty easily, but she didn’t have an excellent medical track record, so it was a bit odd that she’d been transferred here. Oh well. He’d work with her nonetheless. Hopefully he could help her learn to channel her talents in a productive way in her new role. Given that this was to be his first meeting with her, you’d think he would dress up all nice and proper in his Shihakusho, but if you guessed that then you don’t know Hibiki very well.
The healer was dressed up like he always did. A deep blue button up shirt covered his upper half, well, most of it. The top couple of buttons weren’t done, and his sleeves were rolled up just past his elbows. His lower half was covered by a starched pair of white khaki pants, held in place by a black belt. Of course he had his accents on point, with golden jewelry adorning his neck, ears, and wrists. Though some might say it was an unprofessional look, it was a look that felt right for him. It was no Shihakusho, but it was a damn well put together outfit, and he would usually sooner be caught dead then wear those stuffy old robes.
It was in that outfit, with his zanpakuto slung through his belt, that he found himself at the door to the Vice Captain’s office one morning. As was often the case in this Division, he knocked and then let himself in with no more than a ”Coming in.” Given the fast paced nature of this place after a battle, most members of Squad Four had learned to have little to no expectation of privacy. People usually just burst into everywhere because in their office, even the day to day activities were often a matter of life and death. ”I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. Kamikawa Hibiki, person who used to sit in that chair, at your service.” Now the question was just this. Did she have any clue who he was, or had she not bothered to read his file already?
