Plotline: [The only thing worse than a hangover is meeting with your boss while you have a hangover. Rin and Kaen had a bit too much fun, and they were definitely feeling the consequences that morning. But they can't delay their meeting with their early Captain Himitsu. Kaen has to hand in his resignation and Rin has to formally apply for the Vice Captaincy of Squad 7. Will Himitsu accept Kaen's resignation? Will he approve Rin's as the new Lieutenant? Why was Rin gone for so long in the first place? All these questions will be answered on this episode of Keeping Up with the Squad 7's] - Explain the plot of your adventure.

(ooc: Bit of a short one, but I wanted to get this out before the end of the month!)


It had been a magical previous day, and evening. In all his life, Kaen was quite certain his outlook had never shifted so abruptly and suddenly. A complete 180. Even his original push into a cynical and bitter lieutenant had been a series of factors that had culminated in one huge push. The reversal had been unprecedentedly sudden. All it had taken was one meeting, an appropriately regal laugh and smile and... well. Kaen Youji was back. Back and--

Thud

.....A tad off balanced.

Kaen had just thudded against the wall of the Squad 7 barracks. "Atatata.... My head.... Ow." He grumbled. "Hangover.... ow.... I don't know if I've ever drank that much." Totally worth it though. Drinking and eating to excess was fine if it was in the company of an Empress. But now, Kaen had to get himself back into shape. He tried his best to straighten up at least a little. He was.... well. Kaen was never the most formal of people even at the best of times, so he'd have to make do with slightly worse than usual. He had decided to go in ahead of Rin, and allow the Empress her due entrance. Hoo boy.... Finally he stood before the Captain's office. He took a moment to gather himself, and tried, again to stand straight. He groaned as he placed a hand to his forehead. "I am so ready for today, but just.... not.... this." The splitting migraine that was. Everything else he had been prepared to do for.... well. Years. This moment? He'd been prepared for it since the moment he accepted the position. He had not, at the time, expected it to be Himitsu he'd be delivering it to, and in recent times, had expected it never to come at all. But he was prepared for this moment. No question about that. Kaen cleared his throat, and glanced back at the Empress for support, allowing her to stand just out of view of the door so as not to spoil her entry. Then Kaen politely knocked.

"Ahem.... Himitsu-Taichou. I need to talk with you." Kaen said. Then, after knocking and announcing his presence, providing a moment or two, if Himitsu asked for it, Kaen slid the door open and entered the Captain's office. He was slightly disheveled from before, and there were dark circles under his eyes from the nightly festivities, but he seemed alert enough. Kaen was focusing all of his willpower not to falter right now. Not at this very important moment. "Ahem.... I have some new information for you regarding the matter we discussed a little while ago. I wanted to note that I have found sufficient evidence to conclude that my fears and concerns were mistaken." He stated, openly coming clean and acce[tomg responsibility for that action. "That in mind, and considering that the division presently has an open division, I would like to formally request I step down as this Division's Vice Captain." Kaen let those words sink in for a long moment. "If possible, I would like to be demoted down to the position of third officer in this division." Kaen requested in a neutral, respectful tone. "I recognize this may come as a surprise, on such short notice. However, if you are concerned for the integrity of the division, I would like to propose a solution. I think I may have found a suitable candidate to replace me, as the lieutenant of Squad Seven." Kaen then stepped aside from the doorway, and allowed the Empress, Rin Minamimoto to enter, to make her own introduction.
