Holding onto the metal case the rather chubby and fat man ran through the mall with panic in his eyes. He had gotten so far, so close, yet now he was going to be stopped by two shingami, his goal was close, he could taste it. All he needed was to get away and soon the world will bow to his will. No matter who they were they would fall to his power as he would be the only one left with such a skill. That idea had driven him for years, caused him to lose his marriage, his family, his friends and even his health opting to eat fast food to reduce the amount of time wasted cooking and not working. Yet all of that would be for nothing if he was captured by these two shingami who were chasing him.
Running past the fountain knocking someone over and into it he smiled as he saw it. It was only a hundred feet away, a large sears that he could hide in and wait out the shingami.Yet as his golden eyes looked out to his safe haven he tripped. It seemed that karma was a true bitch today, the person that he had knocked over into the fountain, well her purse went flying and landed in front of his path. With his eyes not looking down he fell over it landing on the metal case hearing something crunch and crack inside of the case.
A purple gas started to leak out of the case, in a panic he threw the case away from himself and towards a wall, sadly the fall had damaged the case. As it slammed into the wall it opened and all the contents of the case entered into an air vent. Without warning the entire mall was filled with a purple gas that started to affect everyone. By this time the shingami would have caught up with the fat man seeing him laying on the ground with fear in his eyes. They would all inhale the purple gas before any of them could react. The gas would only last a few moments before dissipate entirely . This gas that should have been their doom, was going to actually be their only saving grace.
You see at the same time this fat man had been working for his own selfish goals of conquering the world, so too had another. Suddenly the skylight above the center of the mall would break sending glass downwards followed by a loud booming voice. “FEAR ME MORTALS FOR I DR. ROMERO HAS CREATED THE UNDEAD VIRUS. REJOICE AS YOU SHALL ALL BE MY MINONS IN WORLD CONQUEST.” The man let out a cackle with fits of coughing as he pressed a button and suddenly the entire town they were was carpet bombed by a feet of planes dropping large canisters of a strange green gas.
Those inside of the mall wouldn't notice any effects of the green gas, it seemed as if it didn't work on them. However everyone outside was now changing, their bodies mutating and turning into the undead. All of them lurching towards the only place with living people. The first screams would be heard almost instantly as the undead started to attack those who were still normal. All the while Dr. Romero laughed as he saw his army march towards the last living folks. “EAT MY CHILDREN, FEAST ON THEM AND BECOME STRONGER.” It seemed that there was an army of zombies heading towards the shingami, normally this wouldn't be an issue, however the shingami would feel strange, they felt weaker. Not so much that it affected their strength, however their endurance would take a hit, and both of them would feel thirsty and a bit hungry.
The fat man started to panic. “No, no, no, no, no this is not how my gas is suppose to work, you're suppose to be..... but how...... no. This isn't right, I need answers.....we need answers.” He looked at the two shingami knowing that if he wanted to survive he needed to work with them. They had no idea what had just infected them and it might be wise to work with the man for the moment. At least until he proved to be no longer useful to the two of them, after all he might be able to give them a cure to whatever had infected the two of them.
(FC: of the fat man who you have by your feet.) OOC: Both participants will now have a hunger and thirst bar. At max the hunger and thirst bar will be 10. Actions and time will determan how fast it goes down. Quality of food and water will impact how it will go up. Both start off with an 8 in hunger and thirst.

It had been a straightforward mission, it seemed. Track down a scientist with a chemical weapon of unknown properties. The Soul Society had been alerted to this weapon for some reason, probably someone in Squad 12 that had detected something spiritual about this weapon in their regular scans. Whatever the reason, the Kuchiki family had taken up the mission by sending the new Squad 1 Unseated Officer along with the Squad 6 Captain to track down this Dr. Romeo. Their search had brought them to the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, one of the biggest malls in the country.
The scientist had turned out to be a short, fat man who appeared to have nothing left to lose in this world. He hurried through the mall and appeared to be out of breath. Moving faster than a race car, the Squad 6 Captain chased the man by stepping on air ground to seem to fly over the heads of those who were milling through the mall without worry or care to what was happening. Despite his supernatural speed, Kyomei didn't manage to catch him in time. Dr. Romeo pushed someone out of the way as he passed a fountain, then tripped and sent his case crashing into the ground. It broke open as the man threw it away and the purple gas inside it was sucked into the closest air vent and spread throughout the mall.
Coughing, Kyomei suddenly felt weaker. Felt as though there was a cramping in his stomach and a dryness to his tongue that hadn't been there before. Instinctively, the Captain moved towards the fountain that had caused Dr. Romeo to trip. Plunging his face directly into the fountain, he took a quick drink that was interrupted by glass shattering above him. Pointing his hand upwards to protect Anthony and any other people around his immediate area, he fired the simplest Hado towards the falling glass.
Using his mastery of the technique, the Sho would be fired like a cone instead of a bolt. He also activated the Magic Hana: Occupance Eater which tripled the size of the cone while slashing the power of the spell to more manageable levels. Thedrain on the Shinigami's reiatsu reserves were immediate and the pain from the techniques felt like two knives digging into his chest. Nothing he hadn't felt before. But he did feel different. The drain on his spiritual reserves felt like... like they weren't coming back. Sure it was a drop in the bucket compared to the total amount of spiritual energy he could muster, but still it was a weird feeling to be able to command less energy for the foreseeable future.
The voice that boomed announcing the end of the world didn't scare Kyomei, nor did he panic too much as the area around the mall was carpet bombed with green gas. The screams started to rise in the air... This was something that the Soul Society definitely needed to be involved in. It was lucky that the two Kuchiki had been there at the time they were. Somehow the purple gas had prevented the effects of the green gas from turning the Shinigami into undead monsters. This offense to the soul cycle needed to be corrected. And Kyomei would start by interrogating the man cowering at his feet.
"Whatever you've done, if you want to survive you're going to have to work with me and not against me. I am not afraid to leave you behind to these... monsters. Now, tell us about your chemical weapon..."
At one point in his life, Kyomei would never have said something like that. He would never have left someone behind to die, even if they had been a monster like this scientist appeared to be. But the time in a Vandenriech Prison had changed him. Made him feel... darker. Less confident in himself and less willing to trust. But he was still a man of his word. If this Doctor would seek restitution for his aims and assist the two Kuchiki, then the Captain would let him live. Protect him and save him, even, if necessary.
And the way things were looking, protection was definitely going to be necessary.
This should have been a simple mission. Find a man that was plotting some whacky conquer the world plan and thwart it. It was going to be difficult initially given originally it was only Anthony who'd have to deal with this. Which if he was honest, was strange in and of itself that he, a new squad member, would be tackling this. Still perhaps that was his family lineage running against him and putting him into a situation that normally wouldn't justify others of his abilities. Thankfully however Anthony had someone above looking out for him because Kyomei decided it was a good idea to join up, though it had originally sounded like he was still going to be fairly laissez faire in an attempt to allow Anthony to figure out how to manage this whole thing. That too however seemed to have already gone to shit.
So lets be honest, having the initial container of purple gas go into the mall because it was broke. Probably a bad day. Add in yet another nut job who now wanted to initiate his own plans on the city and mall? Pretty shitty as well, especially considering his gas was not only green, a clearly bad sign, but also dealt with the dead. Now combine the two events at once? Yea Anthony could honestly say he was just happy Kyomei was here because he was absolutely fucked with the events of the initial canister breaking. Now dealing with both of them? He'd need all the help he could get. However going back to the point of the humans who were currently getting killed by their own and becoming more undead, this was an odd point for Anthony.
Simply speaking Anthony was actually rather fond of the dead and necromancy. In fact if he was honest he actually genuinely wanted to talk to the other nut job JUST to learn what it was about his gas that turned others into zombies. Let alone if he had any realm of control over them. The other part of him was absolutely pissed off. Though the people were turned into the undead the fact that this was done so violently and that they were more bestial than anything was highly upsetting. Especially considering that the souls within the bodies hadn't left. At least as far as Anthony's mind was concerned. So he was harming other souls of people he JUST killed and those of who were about to die because he wanted an undead army. That didn't sit well at all with Anthony on any level.
Speaking of things not sitting well with Anthony however the effects of the purple gas had begun to take an effect on him. A thirst that called to him like no other was only steadily growing in presence as well as a more conscious feeling in his stomach. Which frankly was weird considering prior to he'd been fine still with a moment to spare he followed Kyomei's action and scooped up some water for himself. His attention however was split between the sounds of those getting consumed and Kyomei interrogating the man who was still on the floor currently. With a soft sigh however Anthony ran up to Kyomei, preferring not to shunpo over when there was such a short distance between him and both of his new companions.
Anthony waited for his turn to speak as Kyomei finished his questioning. Though his gaze was hard he wasn't as upset at the fat man beneath them as he was at this "Dr. Romero". So the only thing Anthony could even begin to think about was why this man was here also. Let alone their similar methods of "attack." Once his moment came he spoke loudly enough that he'd be heard over the screams. "Do you know this other "doctor"? It's rather convient that you both used gas weapons and appeared at the same mall when you could have far more easily been at different ends of the earth...Or at least at the next closest mall." Though Anthony directed this question to the man before them he was still keeping an eye out for whatever could be around them given the last thing he wanted was ANOTHER mad scientist to let loose yet another gas and complicate matters further. In fact JUST to be safe he quickly muttered to himself the incantation for Bakudo #3 Sazanami, making his right hand the origin of the spell, to ensure he had some manner of keeping tabs on what was going on in his immediate area as he stuck close to Kyomei and listened to the conversation.
Technique Description and Effects: Sazanami is a particularly simplistic and straightforward Bakudo that at first seems to have no actual ability about it. When activated, this Bakudo sends a pulse of Reiatsu out in a spherical ripple from the user’s palm. This Reiatsu has no actual effect on anything, traveling until it reaches another object with some form of spiritual energy. Once it has done so, it bounces in the direction of its origin, giving an idea of the direction of any nearby active spiritual objects. This excludes environmental objects such as buildings within Soul Society, which do not possess an active spiritual energy. Such objects simply cause the rippling Reiatsu to stop without rebounding. When mastered, this technique can also be sent through objects, such as the ground or a building, rather than stopping upon impacting them. Additionally, mastery allows a constant ripple effect for the duration of a single post, regardless of incantation, that originates from its casting point. The range of this technique varies by the Reiatsu Strength of the user; for every 50 Reiatsu Strength the user has, this technique has a range of one hundred feet in radius. The ripples themselves travel at an astounding 4000 Speed. Due to its incredible speed and the thinned-out nature of the Reiatsu, the technique is undetectable to any but the user unless one actively knows that it is there.
How to use technique (How is it activated?): The technique’s user simply raises their hand and releases a pulse of Reiatsu. The incantation can be spoken before or after to release it.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) Despite its speed, this technique’s effects are minimal. The pulse of Reiatsu is useful for tracking a target’s position or revealing cloaked targets, but unless the incantation is used, the cost of repeated use adds up.
Incantation and Effect (If Kido only): When the incantation is used, the Bakudo creates a continuous ripple effect for three posts using its initial casting point as an origin. The user can intercept reverberations from the technique even if they have moved, giving a continuous feed of the directions of active spiritual energy. (“Throw the pebble in the pond; ripple across the still waters, trace the boundaries, return.”)
Recovering from the wonderful and much needed drink of water that the captain decided needed to happen the fat man who they had been chasing decided to speak up. “No, no, no this isn't right at all. My weapon doesn't do this.... that damn fool up there is to blame for all of this... however, you can still use kido..... odd you shouldn't be able to do that. My weapon should have.....no, now is not the time to talk nor is this the place to talk.” The fat man would stand up and look around, with luck there was a directory nearby that hadn't been overrun by zombies and there was one place on there that he was interested in.
“Listen you two, I have no idea what the crock Dr. Romero did to you, however it seems to be working along side my magnificent creation.” The man opened up his arms as he spoke about his creation acting as if it was the greatest thing on earth. “I don't have the tools to understand this plague... as you would call it, but.... there is a pharmacy nearby, they at the very least should have enough equipment given they also do blood testing there as well. I could figure out what he has done to my glorious experiment and see what has happened to us.” With the threat of the falling glass no longer looming over him the man started to take a step forward before seeing more of the zombie like creatures roaming towards them.
“Oh goody they've spotted us.....” There was a clear mass of walking undead heading towards the three of them. Based on where the pharmacy was on the map it would take a clear them at least ten minutes to walk to that section of the mall if it wasn't infested with zombies, if it was then it could possibly take an hour or so depending on how many there were and how strong they are. However that wasn't the only place they could go, after all this was a mall and there were plenty of stores to visit, sadly everything in the intimidate vicinity was clothing stores. The other options they could explore without having to go super far away was a Sears, a tech store somewhat like a mix between apple and sharper image, a coffee shop, a toy store, and lastly a gander mountain.
There were options for them all to take, do they all rush right towards the pharmacy? Would it make sense to spread out and try to find weapons and resources ? Should one go ahead and make sure the path is safe while the other two stay in the area? Should they try to form a base of operations in one of the larger stores or maybe make a smaller store safe? So many options to do and so many different decisions to make. However no matter the decision at the moment there was a small horde of ten or so zombies that would reach the three in only a few moments so they would have to act.
(OOC: There are many paths to take here, if any of you know of different stores you want to try and explore feel free to make mention, what you will encounter will depend on where you all go, there are no right or wrong answers, have fun.)

Why did things always end up like this? Soul Society had been sent on a mission to go deal with some kind of chemical weapon in the world of the living. That in and of itself was a bit strange. A bit more strange, no, wait, it wasn’t actually stange at all. This was always how things tended to go around here. It was perfectly ordinary in fact. No one had figured that despite going after a chemical weapon it might be wise to send a medic with the squad. No, that would have been an absolutely silly idea. Why would you ever need a medic to deal with something that could potentially infect thousands of people?
Maybe it was because things like this always tended to go horribly wrong. The team that had detected the anomaly in the first place had detected the release of the chemical agent as well. Of course they had, because of course things had already gone wrong. They didn’t have full details on what the effects of the chemicals were, but at that point they figured that someone really ought to get a medic out there even if it was just for the sake of the of the Shinigami that were already deployed to the area. Even Soul Society wasn’t heartless enough to let their own be infected and not provide medical aid.
Unfortunately for them, they got Kamikawa Hibiki. A man who once could have dealt with anything, but now had virtually no healing ability on his own. He got a quick briefing on the situation and then was sent out via Senkaimon into the mall where the outbreak had taken place. He had noted one thing above all else in his briefing though. Not mission details, but mission participants. Kyomei Kuchiki. Technically, Kyomei was his… cousin? He couldn’t remember how the Kuchiki family tree worked, especially with all the adoptions. As far as Kyomei knew though, Hibiki was still dead. This was probably going to be really awkward, but there would be time to explain everything after he made sure Kyomei, and whoever this Anthony Kuchiki guy was, were both safe and sound.
Once he arrived on the other side of a Senkaimon he found himself in a human world pharmacy. Well that was convenient all right. Given he had showed up after things had already started to go down, he was at least able to come better prepared than the others. Though he lacked any proper abilities to deal with a situation like this in his weakened state, he did at least have the power of fashion on his side. Hibiki had showed up to the world of the living dressed up for a riot. He was wearing a standard issue SWAT uniform. Okay, not quite standard issue. It was actually a costume he had used for Halloween, so it wasn’t bulletproof or anything, but it was pretty durable canvas material with a lot of padding, and even had a cheap plastic helmet and a construction-grade gas mask. Would it help him a ton? Probably more than a Shihakusho.
The biggest advantage that his choice of wardrobe immediately offered was a backpack. Being placed in the pharmacy with an empty backpack was a godsend. He had no way to know what was needed at the moment, so he stocked up on some general purpose antibiotics, antivirals, and painkillers. Some bandages got tossed in for good measure. Thankfully there were enough commercials out there that he could still remember some basic pills of choice. Gathering up supplies took a little bit of time though. It would be a real shame if something tried to come murderize him while he was working on that.

The doctor who Kyomei had incorrectly thought was Dr. Romero and instead still remained unnamed wanted to get to the Pharmacy to try and test out a cure to this plague. The Captain wasn't quite sure that was necessary in this immediate circumstances. "I think that we should instead try to set up a home base of operations first. Somewhere we can make safer from the zombies. Now, I haven't watched many zombie movies as a Shinigami, and don't remember any from my past lives, but I'm pretty sure that we still need a place to come back to once we have pressed on towards the mission goals. We may not know the exact extent of the gas mixtures, but for now we know that we're not zombies and we need to protect ourselves from the ones that are."
Figuring that he wouldn't be able to regain any lost reiatsu, Kyo figured that he needed to find a good weapon that he'd be able to use against the undead. He was proficient with staff weapons, but finding something like that was going to be difficult. He could always try an improvised weapon, like a golf club or something. Gander Mountain might be a good choice to go to. They might have something like that, and they also would definitely have firearms and knives. If he could figure out how to get access to them without breaking them. "Anthony, I think we should set up camp in the hunting store nearby. There may not be food there, but there will be weapons we can use. Real weapons as opposed to improvised ones. Doctor, if you really want to get to the Pharmacy, you're welcome to try it on your own."
Now, to deal with the zombies that had already spotted them. There were clothing stores nearby, so Kyomei cast a Kidou as quickly as he could to summon an orange tendril that could reach things faster than he could get to on foot. Horin would serve him well to grab what he wanted to grab, which was a clothing rack. Using his superhuman strength, he broke the rack so that he had an improvised staff with sharp points on the end. Wielding this as he would a wooden staff, he prepared to fight towards the Gander Mountain where he could acquire more useful weapons. He would remain in place, for now, waiting for Anthony's plans. If any zombies got too close, he'd try and cut through their necks with the sharp edge of his staff. He probably wouldn't achieve complete decapitation, but he could try and at least sever the throat.
Remaining Reiatsu: 21,800/22,000 (-25 Horin)

Anthony listened to Kyomei’s train of thought. Honestly he wasn’t wrong in it, it was rational and made a good deal of sense. However it felt like he was going to strong arm the doctor they had present into being damn near worthless and then give him a weapon. Anthony while he would have liked to trust the doctor enough to give him a weapon was anything but trusting and even Kyomei, as the head, might struggle if they lost the doctor. Especially given he was the only person between them who might be able to figure out something. Though he internally disagreed with bringing up the argument he shook his head and stepped next to the doctor with his gladius drawn. While I agree with your line of thought Kyomei I feel like we shouldn’t give the doctor another weapon.” Glancing at the fat man and his broken case he continued on with a small chuckle. “Especially given his prior performance with his “weapon of mass destruction.” If we can make it to the pharmacy to grab something for him or try to defend it for a short time so he can get some idea of what’s going on I feel like that should be our first priority.”
While Anthony felt he made a reasonable argument he did have an ulterior motive also. Whether or not the fat man could do his new job of team medic or whatever it was would be the difference between saving the souls damned to be undead and those who were just killed outright. Though he loved the undead this wasn’t the method he’d have preferred to use to have them be present. He’d have felt more comfortable with having them rise out of graves or some old resting place rather than just changing people directly into them. It just didn’t sit well with him. So while he agreed and wanted to follow Kyomei he’d need to at least try to persuade him into aiding them in at least a temporary stop at the pharmacy. Lord only knew if there was another in this mall or whatever else could be. Hell at this rate Anthony wouldn’t be surprised if there was a full blown hospital or mini-clinic. Honestly the possibilities were endless. Which also reminded him, he needed to try and get a couple souvenirs. Specifically some soda but perhaps some video games or comics even? He'd make a mental note to find some store around here that he might be able to "acquire" something at the end or during this survival event at the mall.
In the meantime with Anthony acting as the personal guard over the fat man he decided to let them both know what he’d done currently. “Before we deal with the undead one thing to know, and I’m looking at you doc specifically. I am able to keep an idea of what’s going on around us whether or not I’m looking at it. I’d recommend staying close to me if only to save your own skin. I’m certain you’d rather not have a seemingly random zombie pop out of nowhere and kill you.” Looking at Kyomei he nodded at him just in case he’d end up asking him if was using Sazanami. He didn’t want the fat man to know but Kyomei definitely needed to know what he was using. WIth nothing currently around either him or the fat man Anthony proceeded to use his free hand to pick up the broken case and use his right hand for his gladius. If any zombie were to appear near him or the doctor he’d turn to their direction to smack their head with the case and proceed to cut off either it’s neck or lower jaw, preferably. If he couldn’t easily reach either he’d just cut what he could and kick it back. He wasn’t about to lose the doctor without a fight, not yet anyway.

Kyomei was about to head towards the Gander Mountain when Anthony objected. It made sense not to be giving the doctor a weapon, but to head to the pharmacy first. With a nod, the Captain relented to his cousin's opinions. "Alright. To the Pharmacy first. But if this gets out of hand, we will definitely need equipment. You may have a Zanpakutou, but I do not. Never could get one to bind to me. I'll just use this pole for now." Kyomei kept his senses open, slashing at the zombies that got too close to them. He was physically capable and proficient with the weapon type, so these early fodder would have little chance against him and Anthony. Meanwhile, he was sensing a twinge of something familiar off in the direction of the Pharmacy. Someone he had not sensed in a long time...

The moment that Hibiki entered into the pharmacy he would be assaulted by the same gas that had affected everyone in the mall. Sadly for him the gas mask wasn't able to keep him from being infected, but at least he wasn't turned into an undead being, like the rest of the people in the pharmacy. Yes the very pharmacy that Hibiki decided to arrive in was busy, at least it was busy until the gas attack of Dr. Romero. Now all of those folks who were in the pharmacy were now undead, and all of them were hungry for Hibiki.
The moment that he arrived he would find himself swarmed on all sides by the zombie.... grannys. Yes Hibiki was surrounded on all sides by a horde of old ladies. What was the reason that this place was filled with old ladies? The answer was easy, they had a special going on for a particular item and that sale only applied to senor women so all these old frugal hags had gathered here to take advantage of it. Sadly for Hibiki this wasn't the best crowed of women to be surrounded by, especially given how hungry they all looked. One of them would lunge at him and bite down on his shoulder before he could even react.
The pain should have been there, there should have been blood drawn from the bite, yet Hibiki would feel nothing. It wasn't the costume that protected him, no it was the simple fact that all the old ladies here came here for one thing and one thing alone, for denture glue. It seemed that in the transition to becoming undead all the dentures of these old ladies had fallen out leaving them unable to bite down properly, however that wouldn't stop them from trying.
For Kyomei, Anthony and the strange doctor the decision to go towards the pharmacy was made and just in time too, any longer simply standing around and they would have had an army of the undead on top of them. However heading towards the pharmacy right now would grantee that they would only have to deal with the occasional walker towards them. As they got closer to the pharmacy they would hear the sounds of the undead inside as well as a struggle going on inside. It would be up to them if they wanted to enter inside, little did they know that Hibiki was dealing with zombies alone in there.

While he was in the midst of gathering medicines, Hibiki felt a gnawing on his arm. He turned and looked at what that was, only to see a swarm of zombie grandmas. Thankfully he had at least managed to scoop some drugs into his bag already. With his attention then turned to the grandmas, he opted not to draw his blade initially. Fact of the matter was that he was beyond awful with a sword. Yeah, he could do some bare basics, but when it came to a fight like this, it simply wasn’t going to be very useful to him with his lack of skill.
Instead he opted for the singular Kido in his arsenal that he could muster, Byakurai. A beam of lightning would blast through the head of the first grandma that had tried to gum him to death, assuming it didn’t have any way to defend itself. But he hadn’t just used Byakurai in the normal way. Given the situation, that would be a criminal waste of reiatsu. Instead he pulled off an old trick, and kept the spell from from careening off into the distance. The Byakurai was locked in at a length of three feet and its energy was concentrated into a rod of lighting that followed the movements of his right index finger.
With this trick in hand, he fought against the swarm of grandmas. The Byakurai Blade would make short work of any that closed in on him. It had the piercing power of a Byakurai, assuming he used it for a thrust. Sure, it was a bit weaker like this than a normal cast, especially given his talent for Kido wasn’t what it used to be, but he at least had the spell mastered so he could still utilize this move. Between that weapon, his speed advantage, and his training in Hakuda where fighting like this was actually his speciality, Hibiki wasn’t really bothered by the swarm that much. It would only be a matter of time before he would poke them all in the head, but it would probably take several minutes to deal with all of them, assuming that nothing else happened.
Anthony’s heart was beating like a madman and not because of the zombies. Those he actually semi-enjoyed despite having to cut or bash them in the face. No he was just glad he had been able to convince Kyomei that his idea was good enough to follow. In all honesty he was posturing some in his mind so that he could be charismatic enough to actually follow through with his argument. And somehow it worked. Thank the gods. Dealing with the zombies on the way towards the pharmacy was just stress relief at that point. Though for each zombie he injured or killed he gave a small mental apology. Promising he’d help them at least return to the soul cycle in less painful situations after this was over.
The actual run over didn’t take too long as the store itself wasn’t too far away. And better yet they weren’t out in the open anymore, yet another benefit. Hopefully. So far his kido hadn’t told him of any other zombies until he got close to the store. Once they had he noticed several things. 1. There was a shinigami in there, 2. There were a LOT of zombies, and 3. That there was an energy sword? Anthony needed to remember to look into this later on because an energy sword was right up his alley… except then he remembered he wasn’t even strong enough to really use sho. Fuck me and fuck kido that I can’t use. A small groan from Anthony and he shook his head to get the silly thought out of there. He could deal with it later. Currently he needed to help the other shinigami in there.
Throwing the suitcase at the doctor and running head first into the store he quickly saw what he’d sensed via Sazanami. There were a bunch of old grannies who’d been made zombies and Hibiki was actually doing a pretty good job of electrocuting them via his byakurai. Though Anthony didn’t recognize it at first given it was far smaller than he’d seen from his time at the academy. One mental note later to ask about said kido and Anthony proceeded to keep his gladius steady in hand. He’d cut the nearest zombie in it’s back with a horizontal slash before following up with an overhead chop. This would hopefully take care of that one given now it had no nerves to follow from the mid back down and that it’s head had been cut into. With only a momentary pause to ensure the one he’d hit was killed he’d move on to one that was coming up from Hibiki’s side and shank it via his sword. Needless to say, it didn’t do a great deal but give him and the zombie granny a moment to glance at one another and basically say “Really? A shank?” Anthony embarrassed at his lack of forethought kicked the zombie granny into a shelf and proceeded to stab into it’s brain effectively killing it also.
Though Anthony was busy with his two zombies he was certain he’d be fine as the other seemed to be holding up well. On top of that Anthony wasn’t exactly unaware of what was going on with him as he continued to sense where the other zombie grannies were. Thus unless a granny or two decided to try and attack him he’d take the extra second to ensure each granny he was dealing with were going to be dead. Last thing he wanted was to deal with them yet again. And with zombies rule #2 was always in effect. Double tap when possible. Granted a sword wasn’t going to shoot anything but he could give an extra hit to their head just to be safe. If a ganny however would come to attack him he’d quickly pull out his sword with both hands and try to cut them at their necks. Chests or heads were also acceptable but his aim was specifically towards their necks so he wouldn’t have to deal with them beyond maybe a head that tried to gnaw away at those near it.
As Anthony and Hibiki fought with the granny zombies they would hear the loud screaming of a man running down. Everything would stop moving for a moment as a massive brute of a man was seen running right at Kyomei, this monstrostiy of a man was dressed in what appared to be a macho man randy savage costume. Through the screaming of the man one could almost hear the sounds of it screaming out Oh YEA BROTHER as it closed line Kyomei and dragging him away deep into the mall and the hoard of zombies. While it wasn't clear if the man dragging away Kyomei was alive or some zombie it was clear that now the captain was gone and wasn't going to be coming back any time soon.
As soon as the sounds of the screaming man vanished into the mall everything started up again. The zombies started to attack Hibiki again the ones that were actually left. With Anthony taking care of two of them right off the bat there was only the one that Hibiki had left was a granny holding something in her arms, but it didn't matter as a simple strike of Hibiki's kido would kill the zombie granny. There in the pharmacy would be a swarm of dead grannies all over the floor, Hibiki, Anthony and the strange fat man who was partially responsible for the zombie swarm coming everywhere.
“Well this place looks like shit already, at least there are fresh subjects to get samples from. Come drag one of them to the back I need to test what is going on right now.” The fat man would walk to the back room leaving both Anthony and Hibiki to talk and interact with one another for a moment while the man started to set up the things he needed to start understanding what was going on only so he could undo it so that he could take over later on. This however wasn't something that he was going to tell the others. After a few minutes he would scream from the back of the pharmacy. “Hey am I going to have to do everything? I need that body.” He was waiting to get the body so he could start the tests he needed to do.
Eventually when the body arrived back there, or if it didn't they would see him struggle with his weight trying to drag a body to the backroom. In said back room he would go off to start off his own tests the first of which involved him grabbing an arm and drawing out what blood was left in the zombies putting it into a tube and running it in a centrifuge. The Doctor would be busy working with the body trying to understand everything. In the back of the pharmacy and in the pharmacy it's self they would have a good supply of water, at least five cases of water. Which normally would last three people well over a month, however all three of them would feel thirstier than normal and would be forced to consume more water than normal. Hibiki using the kido would also feel a bit more hungry than before.
Besides the water in the pharmacy there were some basic medicinal supplies and a about a dozen granola bars. If one was expecting more of a Walgreens like pharmacy they would be severally displeased with what they found here. This was more of a quick in and out drug store that you drop off prescriptions and come back later to pick them up. For now the three of them would be safe for what was going on, however the two shingami would need to form a plan as the fat man would be busy working away in the back. While they have a few moments to themselves away from the zombie attacks, they shouldn't just waste time standing around.
(OOC: Both Hibiki and Anthony lose two thirst bringing them to 6 Hibiki also loses one hunger leaving him at seven as well)
