Well it seemed that a number of things had happened all at once. Hibiki was able to mostly fend off the old zombies, but a good chunk of that had come through some unexpected aid from, of all people, Anthony Kuchiki had showed up. Though Hibiki’s brain didn’t recognize the name immediately, he did remember him when the other Shinigami saved his bacon. This was the guy he’d met back during the fight with that weird spiritual orb thing in the parking lot a little while back. ”Well aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.” He thanked the other man, and dismissed his Byakurai Blade.

”So who’s the crazy guy over there?” Hibiki asked him about the random nutjob he’d brought with him. ”All I really got is something about crazy gas and the powers that be figured a medic was needed, so here I am.” he paced around the shop idly, with steps taken carefully over the corpses around the area. ”Man, I’m parched though.” He went and downed some water, but he found that it didn’t have much of an effect at all. ”Guess I’m thirstier than I thought…” He downed three bottles before he remarked. ”Yeah, I guess that isn’t gonna work unless I drink a whole cooler worth.”

Thus far, Hibiki had mostly ignored the scientist dude, but then he poked his head in back to see what the man was doing. Being a healer himself, it wasn’t hard to tell what kind of lab work was going on back there. Rather than waiting around for that to finish, he placed his hands on a corpse and cast Diagnose on it wordlessly. This Kaido would reveal anything wrong with the body, as well as the cause of it. Whatever had done this to these people could be explained by this technique, as it was clearly something that had negatively impacted them. Of course he would share the findings with the doctor, whatever those were.

”Well aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.” Anthony hadn’t taken notice of who he’d been trying to help initially having been more concerned that someone was surrounded by zombies. Which is retrospec was kinda weird considering all the other beings aside from the doctor, Kyomei, and Anthony had been turned into zombies. So when the other spoke up to him and he finally had a good look Anthony could only smile relieved. “Nice to see you also...shit I’m sorry I forgot your name…” Anthony thought for a moment then smacked himself in the forehead for being so dumb. It was Hibiki. He easily remembered him from his first outing to the human world. He’d turned and rubbed the back of his neck embarrassed at having forgotten his name initially.

“Sorry about that had a bit happen since so it took me a minute to remember who you were Hibiki. Likewise though it’s good to see you also. Wha ar-” Everything stopped for a moment as all Anthony could here was someone screaming out their brother. Turning to the door he only just barely caught sight of Kyomei being forcibly dragged off into the mall. Anthony gulped some. Anthony wasn’t super scared persay of the zombies, hell he loved the undead but when your with someone like Kyomei the world is basically a pebble as far as obstacles go. And now his “Fuck you button” was gone. That set just a bit of fear into Anthony as he never suspected that Kyomei could be dragged off like that. Perhaps he needed to stop putting him on a pedestal.

Regardless as he turned back he heard the fat man yell and could only roll his eyes, any fear gone as the doctor was annoying enough to disperse it. “Aye, I’ll grab a body for ya. Don’t get your panties in a twist doc.” Anthony saw the doctor trying to pull a body himself into the back part of the pharmacy and just shook his head. “I said I’d grab it ya didn’t need to try doing this by yourself. I’ll help ya with it. With his help Anthony and the Doctor would have the body exactly where he needed it. Once done he’d return to Hibiki and apologize while grabbing a couple bottles of water himself. He hadn’t realized how thirsty he’d been until he saw Hibiki drinking some water.

“Anyway...Now that he’s busy working I can finally talk with ya. To answer your questions to start that’s Doctor… I don’t even remember. Really he’s not super important as he can’t even use his own WMD properly. Still he’s part of the reason you, myself, and Kyomei aren’t the walking dead. His gas did something to use that prevented us and a few others from being affected by Doctor Romaro? I think that was his name. He’s the nut job who had the zombie gas.” Anthony would look down with a small frown on his face with the bodies around. He was only ok with the bodies because they were undead and he adored necromancy. That didn’t mean however he was very thrilled at the scene before them.

Looking back at Hibiki he’d continue “But yea so basically you walked into a mini zombie apocalypse. He’s helping us so that he won’t become one and well...Kyomei WAS here until he got manhandled...which I didn’t even know was possible..So here we are. Trying to figure out how to stop this mess. If your a medic I can easily see why the upper chain would send ya. We will definitely need your help haha! Especially him, he’s smart enough but he’s not very...mm..common sense smart. I don’t know how to describe it it’s like he’s there but not at the same time. He’ll be sorta annoying but please bear with him we really do need him since it sounds like he knows the other nut job or at least can easily figure out HOW the others WMD works.”

Looking around Anthony found the granola bars and decided to eat a couple while putting some inside his pockets. Another bottle of water alongside the granola bars and Anthony would take a glance around the outside of the pharmacy. Seemed clear enough for the time being a few zombies here and there but nothing like the horde that had almost consumed them. If he was ever going to have a moment where he could go look for some supplies he’d need to do it now. Turning back he’d yell to the two in the pharmacy. “Hey Its...sorta clear for the most part. I’m going to head over to the hunting store and see what I can find. I’ll see if I can’t grab something for each of us and scout out the rest of the area. I’ll be back within 10-15 minutes max.”

With one more glance in and a pause just in case either person said something or wanted him to search for something in particular he’d be off towards the hunting store. Sazanami by this point had worn off and it took Anthony a moment to realize he had in fact had his kido fade away. Being as quiet as he could about it he muttered the incantation using his right hand again as the source of the bubble of reiatsu to be made. It’d exist for but a moment and then pop sending off the continuous ripples again. He breathed a sigh of relief at having his field of “vision” up again. Especially in a situation like this it was a god send. Now to just make it to the store and he’d be golden. In the meantime as he walked though he’d take a moment to glance around and see what all else was around him. Never knew what all would come in handy aside from a gun.

The moment that Hibiki used the kido on the dead body of the human he would come to understand exactly what this thing was. The first thing that he would learn about this body is that every single cell was dead. Not that the body was dead, but every single cell that inhabited the body was dead. As a doctor Hibiki would know that for some organs of the body the cells would continue living for a few hours after death happened. Yet this body appeared as if it had been dead for days possibly weeks given that not even the symbiotic bacteria inside of a normal human body was alive. This was the very same being that he had just killed a few moments before.

The second major discovery would be that the cells of the body, while biologically dead and shouldn't be able to move or act were still in the process of acting like a normal body. Every part of the body seemed to still be active, yet it seemed that without a brain the body lacked the ability to do complex tasks. The thing that he assumed as dead from the outside was dead, but internally the cells were still working, still acting as if they were living even without what was required of actual life. How these cells were able to do this would require further study than what a basic kido could observe in just a few moments. That being said the last thing he would discover about the body would make most sick.

The soul of the person hadn't vanished from the body, no even in this state the soul was trapped inside of the body. Trapped inside of this rotting body the soul was screaming in agony and pain as something was eating away at it. The head of the body that Hibiki had cut off had part of the soul of this human in it. If this continued the souls of the people would be eaten away into nothingness instead of being free to join the soul cycle. All of this was due to a strange virus that seemed to wrap around the soul of the body keeping it trapped inside of the body. The virus it's self seemed to be eating away at the soul using it as a source of energy to keep growing. Hibiki would learn all of this, but if he wanted to tell the fat man that was with them was all up to him. That fat fucker would be busy working away learning other things as well.

For Anthony using the kido he was able to sense that there was a lack of things moving in the area around him. That being said it wasn't as if the mall was silent. The moans of the dead echoed in the mall as well as a few faint screams here and there of people asking for help or that of rage. For now the path to the Gander Mountain was clear for him to go and get to the store. It would only take him a few seconds to cover the area to get to the front of the store. Sadly the first thing he would see would be a large sign that said the following. Welcome to Gander Mountain. Thanks to the left wing liberals wanting to have more gun control we are no longer able to carry guns in store or any form of bullets. Anthony's goal of being able to find a gun here would be pointless sadly, however that didn't mean there wasn't something of value to be found here. After all this was a store specializing in the outdoors. From fishing, camping and hunting there would be something of use to be found if he decided to take a look around. However if he wanted to make it back in the same time frame that he promised Hibiki he would have to check out and raid one of the three main areas. The first was hunting, without guns what else could this area hold for Anthony? Fishing seemed rather silly as they would be on land and honestly what good would fishing line and hooks do? Lastly camping could offer some things of use, but this wasn't a peaceful camping trip this was zombie invasion.
