"It seems we have some cowards here, for men and women of science." Keira muttered under her breath as Pamela explained that none of the staff were willing to test the food themselves. The last time that she checked, food was not a simple luxury that should be taken lightly, especially in a place like this. They should be taking advantage of everything they have. She crossed her arms drumming her delicate fingers on her slender arms as she continued to listen. Pamela continued on by saying that hollows become more aggressive and unpredictable once their powers were negated. The average hollow might. It is only natural, but Keira doubted that would be the case with Val. She did not argue the issue. Now's not the time.
Pamela started shooing her out of the lab as a flower started to bloom. She also mentioned something about dinner, now that she said something, Keira was still famished. She turned to leave as the stench of the flower started to hit her nose. For once, she was glad that her senses were deadened. Keira left the green house heading to the mess hall for dinner. She continued to mull over all the information that Pamela gave her. She didn't like what she heard. Keira didn't have any personal attachment to Valentine, but he was a resource that could prove valuable in one way or another. She would not like to lose that resource if she could help it.
She entered and approached the dinner table. There was a familiure feeling in the air. She looked around and was able to pin point it to an individual in a lab coat sitting at the end of the table. Keira suppressed an interested smile. She would make her way in his direction and sit close by waiting for the others. "I hope the food isn't from where i think it's from." She said out load to try and engage him in conversation. She waited for the other's to arrive. Dr. West was the last to arrive. There was something about him that she didn't like. Well the first was that he was a scientist. The one thing she learned before becoming a failure, was that a scientist can't trust other scientists, but there was something else. Something that gave her a mad scientist feeling. So this was what it was like around her. Odd.
Keira would be the last one to start eating not wanting to be an incidental guinea pig if this food was from the hollow in the green house. She didn't trust any of this. The girl that worked for Kazura asked why spiritual beings were needed for this test. It was a good question. Once that inquiry was satisfied Keira would ask her own. "Tell me Dr. West, if your able to pascify hollows, why the tight security for them? Can't you passify all of them?
