"So wait, this Amaranth is some kind of powerful time altering relic and it's been split up and now they're trying to bring them back together so they can use it to destroy all of the timelines except the one they want?"
He explained that far better than she could have! Rin nodded affirmatively to his query and continued to quickly make her way to the ballroom. As she ran, she drew her nodachi, fully prepared to rip a few black cloaks in half. The Empress was very much tired and irritated with these felons staying for a mere ten seconds and leaving with cryptic, taunting words. Curse them. Damn them to hell! She was not a fan and for that, it would be off with their heads.
When she entered the ballroom it was was just as she expected. Two of those cloaked individuals with Belle in tow. Beast was on the ground and Rin felt quite unnerved. Was… Was he going through what she went through? Was he stuck in a crossroads just like she was before? It was an awful position to be put in and as much as she wanted to step forward and attempt to help, she could hear the cloak from the platform talking and her eyes narrowed with murderous intent. “Ne~? That's it? You are a tragic excuse of a pawn in all this.” she retorted, taking a step towards him as if she were readying herself to go in for a kill. Alas, she would get no chance.
"You three play nicely now. We'll be watching~"
“It’s really fuckin’ weird when they say stuff like that.”
The grip on her hilt tightened as her anger grew at watching the cloaks disappear once more. She watched the Amaranth drop and fall into place perfectly between the Beast’s horns and then it disappeared. Soon he was engulfed with darkness and he growled low, and vicious. When his eyes finally laid on her and Narth, she knew then that there would be no choice in the matter. "Hunt, Hiretsuna!” The beast would charge and her and Rin would charge on towards him, scythe pulled back. “I’m counting on you, Narth. Don’t stay in this spot.” she calls out to him as she charges on.
It looked like two bulls charging at each other but when Rin was close enough, she swerved off to the outside of one of his arms and slid across the ballroom floors. What? They were simply made for dancing on, darling~! Dances of all kinds and battle were all the same. Only the latter was a precarious dance of its own and also her favorite. As Rin slid far past Beast, she hooked her scythe around one of his leg and pulled the trigger, letting the recoil from her rifle deliver a nasty slice to his leg and push herself farther away from him.
He roared in great pain and Rin immediately barrel rolled to a standing position. She would let Narth do whatever he could do while Beast had all eyes on the most important person in the ballroom. “Me.” The Empress smirked playfully at the possessed monster before her and would charge at him again as she threatened to slice at his chest but he moved deftly, avoiding her massive slash and closed in on her while she was open. “Let me out.” His claws ripped into her shoulder and in the next moment she felt her back collide with a pillar hard on the other side of the ballroom. She couldn’t help but gasp in pain as she tried furiously to keep her thoughts at bay.
“This stage is mine. Let me out.”
Rin dug her scythe into the pillar behind her and soon enough the Beast was coming for her. She fired shot after shot after shot until the pillar gave way and started to fall with Rin right under it and soon the Beast who was just under her. “Me.. Me..” She’d dislodge her zanpakuto from the falling pillar and tap her foot on it, using shunpo to carry herself far away from the doomed beast and the pillar now on top of him. Rin held her head with her free hand as if she were trying to get a hold of her thoughts. It wasn’t Hiretsuna speaking like this. Who was it.. Why wouldn’t it stop? It was so annoying. “Beast? Are you alright?” She asked with a sliver of hope in her voice, taking another step towards the monster under the pillar.
“That’s it? It’s over? I want more.”
