Ludwig originally starts in a training facility for his barracks in the Soul Society. The time is evening when he begins testing out his newest technique, Dimension Door, and inevitably messes it up in the process. This screw up results in Ludwig getting sent into a forested district of Silbern, a seemingly massive forest covered in ice and snow. the only noticeable monument that can be seen once the forest is trekked through is the city of Silbern itself. 

The battle itself can be anywhere from the outskirts of Silbern to the residential area quincies reside in depending on how far Ludwig is able to get to.

What are the special conditions for your thread that are different from standard ones?
Ludwig is fighting to remain out of the Vandenriech's grasp so that he can figure out a way to leave. If he gets beaten he will be trapped in Silbern by Amalia until he is allowed to leave or manages to leave in a separate thread.

Ludwig sighed to himself as he finally finished his last piece of paperwork. Lord only knew how many he’d dealt with today as well as the past few days, it was seemingly endless, however despite that being alone in the evening was actually what he wanted. A few weeks ago an idea had occurred to Ludwig as he considered how to bring Squad 13 to the minds of the other squads and the answer was simple. He needed to make something that would show off squad 13 and it’s members from those of other shinigami and tonight, if all went well, would be the start of this. He was finally going to finish making the first of his “Senkaimon series” for his squad members to learn. It acknowledged what they did while also making itself practical for use in combat but currently Ludwig had to fine tune it so that spiritual beings could survive walking through it.


That is where tonight came in. He’d been able to send physical objects and kido’s through his doors just fine. He’d even been able to manipulate the dangai to form corridors so that the user could walk from one spot to another however it was still a bit more unstable than Ludwig would have preferred which was why up until this point he hadn’t walked through it himself. Tonight however was different, he’d figured out how he could use reishi to lay out a path and stabilize the dangai at least for a time which theoretically would allow another to walk through it safely. Thus despite being alone and it being the dead of night he was smiling inwardly, just the least bit excited about the fact that if all worked correctly he could reveal this to his squad members both as a symbol for their squad and as another tool to their arsenal.


Once Ludwig had checked to make sure he’d gone over all the paperwork properly and had it ready for the morning he began his short trek to the training grounds. The walk was seemingly done in an instant as he’d been far more excited than he realized to try out his theory. With one more glance around the nearby area he nodded to himself and started gathering reishi in his hands. Ludwig, especially at the early stages liked to make sure he was absolutely certain he had made the tunnels properly and thus used both hands to open any “doors”. It took a moment but once he’d gathered the sufficient amount of reishi necessary he thrust both hands forward into the space directly in front of him. His hands seemingly melded into space for a moment before spawning a wooden double door similar to the actual senkaimon. So far so good, now let’s make certain to stabilize the pathway and then I’ll open it. I can’t have any mistakes if I intend to walk into this thing. 


Ludwig held the door’s for a few moment’s longer focusing on branching his reiatsu out into the dangai and forming a solid path to a point 15 feet ahead of him. It took him another few seconds due to his cautious and careful approach but once he was certain he’d made the necessary pathway he finally opened up the doors. The light was bright only for a moment before showing off the darkened cavern that the Dangai really was. Inspecting over the walls, floor and ceiling showed that his reiatsu had been more than enough to stabilize the tunnel now that he had used more to spread through the pathway. With a breath of relief Ludwig took his first steps inside, the doors behind him shutting themselves and fading away.


He nodded at the now non existent doors as that was the intended purpose and proceeded to walk around and inspect the Dangai. It pulsed with reiatsu, both his and just its own latent reiatsu yet there was a pulse that kept running through the Dangai. It was periodic but seemingly harmless as Ludwig couldn’t sense anything approaching let alone couldn’t imagine what would be here. Realistically not even the machination that lived in this tunnel would be here as this pathway was temporary at best. Ludwig made a mental note to try and figure out what the pulse was but for the time being he continued walking onwards keeping track of where his reiatsu lead so that he wouldn’t miss his exit. Technically he never should anyway as the exit was meant to appear just as the door had originally disappeared but with testing new ideas there was never such a thing as too careful.


All too soon however did he reach the end of where his reiatsu lined the walls and no door appeared. This is when he started to worry about the pulse. See the pulse by this time had grown more frequent until it became the new constant level. And that’s when Ludwig realized just what was happening the Dangai had a time limit to how long one was meant to remain inside it. And the pulse was the timer he had Kido and stones had made it to the other side because they had moved far quicker than he had over an even shorter distance. He’d been slow and methodical and burnt through his time that he’d allotted in it’s design. Before Ludwig could even respond with trying to force a door to open a blast of reiatsu surged from the depths of the Dangai and hit him spot on. This sent him flying forward until finally hitting one of the sides of the Dangai full body and try as he might Ludwig couldn't’ free himself only getting further absorbed into the walls until he was completely merged with it.


At this point there was nothing Ludwig could do he couldn’t even use his reiatsu to try and make another door. He was stuck and being sucked into the wall until finally he felt another large force similar to the first one push his backside. The only accurate description of this process was Ludwig finally realizing how it felt to be a pancake. But before he realized it he was actually pushed through what was basically a hole. This hole as he came to realize was the exit. He’d spawned the door into the wall of the dangai instead of in the actual cavern of the dangai and was currently being propelled to it and eventually forced through it. 


While Ludwig ended up making it through the door, in one piece no less, he very quickly realized where he was at was not the Soul Society. Instead he’d found his way into a drastically colder forest. The volume of snow wasn’t excessive but it was definitely present with more coming from the clouds above. Pulling himself together as quick as his body allowed Ludwig got back onto his legs and noticed he was utterly alone in this forest and was infinitely grateful that there was no wind currently. He could easily hop onto the air to avoid getting his feet wet on top of being cold and would only have to manage with the latent cold of the area instead of a wind factor that would arguably push him over the edge.


His head and hands were still questionable however as far as if they would handle this cold well enough. Surprisingly enough however he had a pair of gloves on his person in one of his inner pockets and wasted no time in putting those on. All that was left now was his head. Sadly he had no such luck as having a hat or anything of the like and thus would have to draw one up. He sighed to himself over such a trivial use of his zanpakuto but he was in a spot where if he wasn’t careful there’d be a lot more to deal with than just cold weather. Thus he spoke it’s release phrase and promptly drew an Ushanka as it was the only thing he could think of to keep his head warm in the meanwhile.


From here on there wasn’t much else Ludwig felt was more important than finding some shelter. He needed a place that would keep him warmer and if he was honest he really needed to find someone to help him out. He was almost certain he wasn’t going to return to the Soul society anytime soon if he couldn’t get help in one form or another and he didn’t dare try his Dimension Door technique again. Lord only knew if he’d be so lucky a second time. And thus Ludwig began his trek through the woods unknowingly towards Silbern and more specifically a settlement of nearby quincy.

That which lies beneath

Snip. Snip. The sound of Amalia's shears disturbed the silence within her tranquil garden. Amalia tilted her head slightly as her gentle gaze focused on the voluminous rhododendron. She carefully used the lustrous golden shears to prune the various species of plants in her immaculately maintained garden. It was the one thing she tended to herself. This garden was a reflection of Cochem and a doorway to her former life, before the war between Shinigami and Quincy stripped the land. Her eyes gradually scanned the outer layers of the plant before she would deliver a precise cut.

Amalia's hair fell neatly along her shoulder as she turned to survey her garden. It was grand in scale and beauty. Something she was eternally proud of and grateful for. This space calmed the turbulent waters of her soul. The rage and condemnation was capable of being quieted and quelled by simply passing through this space. The aroma, aesthetic, and even the sound of the leaves brushing together was soothing. It was remarkable how something so simple was capable of sedating the tremendous emotion residing in her soul. 

As she passed through the garden, her hands gliding across the silken petals, she imagined Cochem. She peered through an archway decorated with masses of foliage. The archway was transformed into for a moment, becoming a doorway to another time. A gentler, more peaceful time. The voices of those from her past echoed around her, calling out her name. Amalia closed her eyes for a moment, releasing a heavy, sorrowful sigh. "It is better this way." She said softly. "You would only serve to hinder me." She added as she opened her eyes, the voices having been silenced. "You may remain here, in this garden, for all of eternity. My treasure. My secret." She said as her voice softened. 

Amalia abruptly lifted her head, having sensed something peculiar. She couldn't quite place her finger on it. It felt unfamiliar and foreboding. Amalia began walking through her garden, her pace increasing with every step. Her subtle distress could be felt within her hurried footsteps. She walked onto an expansive terrace overlooking multiple regions of the Silbern. She didn't know what to think about what she felt or where it might have originated. In fact, she wasn't sure of anything in this moment.

Amalia's hands pressed against the stone railing, her fingers gripping tightly enough to restrict the flow of blood to her fingers. Their pinkish hue faded as she glared into the distance. A nearby servant bowed before her presence, offering to retrieve her anything she might need or desire. Amalia dismissed the man with a flick of her hand. Something had captivated her and she couldn't shake it. Amalia knew not to ignore such feelings. They always meant something. She had learned the hard way not to ignore that which the universe presents to you.

"Wait." She commanded. "You may..." Her voice was silenced by a surge of reiatsu, one that was immediately recognized. The air became heavy, weighted by the presence of a most unwelcome intruder. Amalia's mind began to race as her eyes widened and her mouth gaped ever-so-slightly. A faint shake passed along her body, a trembling building in her hands. Her gaze became vacant as memories from her past flooded her consciousness. She was temporarily overwhelmed by this presence. 

It represented an unconscious fear residing deep within her. It happened in an instant. The air was still and then it wasn't. It was over as quickly as it started. Shock and dismay crept into her body once more. Amalia began grinding her teeth as her sensibilities began to override old emotions. Her gaze intensified, possessing an unrivaled fury. "Impossible." She uttered as she quickly turned her body. "Impossible!" She slammed her fist against the railing, cracking the stone. "Notify the Soldat and present Sternritter. Fortify the Silbern, but leave this Shinigami to me!"

Her rage began to intensify as she dashed from her garden terrace toward a gate of the sun. How did a Shinigami manage to pierce the veil between our realms and enter the Silbern. No one but Vandenreich Quincy have ever had access to this most sacred land nor have attempts to bridge the divide been successful. Amalia's fear and rage continued to build, as she was not faced with a most unsettling realization. Have they discovered a method for freely accessing Silbern? 

Amalia reached the gate of the sun and used the golden plate to immediately transport herself to the region nearby where the reiatsu was felt. Appearing 60 feet beyond the edge of the woods, she peered angrily into snow-covered canopy. She inhaled and closed her eyes, in an effort to suppress her fears. "Like every other, they will die. Their blood will nourish the soil beneath their feet, their body incinerated, and their soul destroyed. That is the fate of all those who oppose his majesty." She said boldly as she began to walk forward. 

She passed multiple citizens within Waldrand, the region located just at the edge of the densely wooded area. If he kills even one Shinigami I would double his suffering. She thought bitterly. She could sense his presence nearing her, though she had not yet revealed herself to him. "Leave this area! NOW!" She demanded with a fierce roar. As she neared the edge of Waldrand her spiritual pressure exploded, filling the area. "Come out, come out wherever you are!" She shouted in an eerily honeyed tone. She formed a bow in her hand and released and fired a single arrow (800 speed) into the forest. A moment of silence passed before the arrow exploded in a fiery plume, engulfing the forest's edge. "I truly hope you received my most gracious and fiery welcome!" She said, tilting her head and smiling brightly as her Quincy cross drew in reishi.

There’s a saying in life, “Shit happens.” As Ludwig was walking through the woods he could honestly admit that it was completely true. However the amount of “shit” that could happen in one day should have a limit. That was what he thought up until Amalia had decided it was time to give her new “guest” a warm welcome. Complete with all the necessities. A blast of spiritual pressure that felt akin to a monster more so than any quincy or human should ever reasonably attain, an arrow as a show of just what race she was and at least solidifying somewhat where Ludwig had wound up, and the best part for last. A farewell gift, an explosion that had little to no care about what was around and was aimed in Ludwig’s general direction.


To say Ludwig was somewhat terrified of just who this person was, would have been an understatement. And yet another part of him was all the more curious, not even another captain of the Soul Society had such powers, aside from maybe the captain commander himself. Still first thing was first, dealing with that pesky arrow that had been intending to take him and the scenic area out with it. Ludwig really could only deal with it in one way and that was to shunpo away for the time being. And that was saying a lot because normally he could deal with an attack at him rather well but instead had to go off and run away like his beloved cartoon characters. Unfortunately however his custom haori was not so fortunate as it had signed some. Damnit...of all the things to hit… If i’m honest however I should be grateful I was able to dodge it, that arrow was more than enough to kill in one hit. Just who are you and what did I do to upset you this much? 


It seemed that despite the intense aura this other being held they were giving him a moment to show himself or die. The attack didn’t exactly leave much up to question and with Ludwig’s surged energy there was no doubt this being would find him in a heartbeat. Still with the allotted time Ludwig decided he’d try and prep himself as best he could. Might as well right? And given he was still pretty well hidden in the tree’s that were currently on fire or becoming on fire, he’d be able to pull some small things. “Alright first things first” He whispered to himself popping into existence a speech bubble that held two symbols. One being a small gem and the other being a literal cartoon bomb. How ironic. He smiled as he placed the two into his haori’s pockets hoping they’d be of some use.Once that was finished he quickly drew up his favorite lil bag of shenanigans. If he was honest he’d definitely need it as quick creations might be the only thing saving him from instant death and a chance at survival. It took a matter of seconds before he pulled it out his notebook and tied onto his sash right under his haori on his hip’s right side.


A little more comforted now that he had a couple things that would even out the odds, even if slightly he took a deep breath and started his walk, on the air so he wouldn’t freeze his feet, towards the monster. It didn’t take long for him to start smelling the burning of the tree’s around him. He’d been too distracted by both a good chunk of fear and his own thoughts to realize how much was on fire and the smell of it’s smoke. Old memories tried to start rising up but thankfully he had released already so this wasn’t going hinder him. At least not yet. Gods help if there were ash around however. That might forcefully bring up memories better left locked up in chests in his mind. The ones you put everything you can’t fully handle by yourself. He shuddered at the thought alone as he made his way to the forest's edge and spied just who his aggressor was.


She was...interesting to say the least. To start she wore rather extravagant clothes more befitting of royalty than of someone who came to kill. It didn’t even seem like they were good for the season unless you were showing off how much money you had. A tad silly of a thing to do if Ludwig was honest, still he couldn’t deny that she wore them well at least. In the back of his mind he was almost sad he wasn’t prepared for the winter. At least then he would have looked better and perhaps would have given off a better impression than what he’d give now. Too late for that line of thought however as it seemed Amalia had noticed him as he’d gotten to the edge of the forest. With a small sigh and chuckle he raised both hands, his right with his pencil loosely gripped. He couldn’t speak as he’d give away one of his abilities in Shikai, arguably a somewhat annoying one because it could give away a lot of information so he just chose to smile softly and walk forward. Once he was a good 50ish feet from her he stopped still holding his hands up. He tried his best to give an expression that spoke for him in this case being “Alright alright, you found me. Please let's not fire a detonating arrow at me.” After holding them for a few moments he let them slide down to his sides but only quietly looked at her. 


Taking a moment to look around however it seemed she was a defender or guardian of sorts around here. Though here specifically the area was more akin towards peasants by comparison to her garb alone. They had a quarters to live in but most seemed to be snowed in a bit and those that didn’t were more like shacks, albeit nicer shacks than any he’d seen in the rukongai. At least someone was on his side as everyone else had been evacuated and there weren’t even reinforcements, at least not yet. He really didn't want any innocents or really anyone else involved in this as this could hopefully be settled without getting into too much of a fight. If he was fortunate there wouldn’t have to be but something about this woman’s aura and honestly her presence alone rebuked that idea. He was probably not going to get out of this situation without a fight, and one that would arguably push him to limits even as she played around with him.


With that being the last thought he gave another expression but this one confusion, clearly trying to display he was more lost than anything and that he was not a threat. Hell if she looked him in the eye even Amalia would be able to tell Ludwig had no literal idea where he was. Here’s hoping she’d give him the luxury of knowing what this place was rather than just trying to off him in yet another attack.

Amalia's gaze intensified as Ludwig came into view. Her whole body seemed to move with every breath. Each inhale stoked the fire residing within her. This same blaze could be seen through her eyes and projected out into the world. This was no ordinary gaze. It possessed no ordinary disdain. The ferocity contained in her eyes was so volatile and filled with rancor that it practically immolated the environment around them. She could barely contain her impulses. They were screaming out to her, pleading with her to tear her opponent to pieces.

Her breathing became heavier the longer she stared at Ludwig. He gestured in her direction, choosing not to speak. Such arrogance. She thought with seething rage. Something about this captain felt unfamiliar, though. He did not look at her the same way the others did. Why? Surely he intended to visit the Silbern, the impenetrable sanctuary of his majesty. Certainly he chose for this to be his destination. It wouldn't make sense otherwise. Why would a Shinigami visit the Silbern unless to start a war.

No one has ever breached these lands. It is not only forbidden to bring in outsiders, but those unwelcome are incapable of entering. Then how? How did this lone shinigami enter and without reinforcements? She thought to herself. She scanned his face and body, noting his weak, feeble spiritual frame. As the seconds passed she was quickly gathering vital information and piecing it together like a puzzle. Each second was another piece, but only the edges were complete. She descended onto another step, her eyes never leaving him.

Her posture loosened as she examined him more closely. Her eyes narrowed as her cautiously measured expression softened. She looked into his eyes once again and began to recognize what was gazing back at her.  Her expression completely dissolved before  delivering a welcoming smile. "You look lost." She said with soft, honeyed words. She began descending the stairs to a plateau even with Ludwig. "We have never had a visitor to this most holy land, and so your arrival startled us." She said earnestly.

"Your presence certainly frightened the civilians of this humble region. How exactly did you arrive here?" She asked sweetly. "As I said, no one has ever visited and so your presence is somewhat of a mystery. You don't seem to know where you are or how you got here, though surely that is impossible. You don't look like the kind of man who walks the world in a heavy a fog. It raises so many questions." She remarked with a spirited chuckle. Amalia continued down the steps as her gown flowed beneath her feet.

She tugged on the sleeves of her snow-white fur coat. She tilted her head, rubbing her cheek into the fur. Glancing at Ludwig from her periphery, she smiled fondly. "You never did get around to telling me your name. And what unusual garb. You must be from a far away land." Her tone and expression flirted with Ludwig's senses. "I must then apologize for the brisk weather. It certainly doesn't allow for a dulling of the senses, now does it?" She allowed her coat to slide open, revealing her low-cut and revealing neckline. Her skin seemed to glisten before she once again covered her warm, supple flesh. It appeared Amalia had regained control and was eager to get close to her guest.

There were many things Ludwig had seen in life. War, bodies brutally blown apart, anger so physical it could be held in one’s hands. But what Amalia displayed initially was anything but the normal. Hatred was really the only word Ludwig could use to aptly describe her expression towards him yet this changed after a few awkward moments before she relaxed. Though she came closer Ludwig could still sense a tension in the air heavy enough that a butter knife could cut it. He needed to be VERY careful because wherever he wound up and whoever this woman was would no doubt end him in a heartbeat. Still there was something to be said about his luck because thus far he’d not yet received another arrow to the face, his only saving grace being Amalia’s confusion about his existence in Silbern. 


What came next confused Ludwig on a personal level. If her level of hatred rivaled his depression that he felt at his worst then Amalia’s ability to disregard that entire emotion like it was nothing was certainly something he couldn’t fathom mentally. Those kinds of emotions were not suppressed so easily, especially after a flare up like what she’d done prior. Ludwig would like to think he was open-minded but he wasn’t stupid. He was certain the only reason she didn’t harm him currently was because his “information” was far more worthwhile. "Your presence certainly frightened the civilians of this humble region. How exactly did you arrive here? As I said, no one has ever visited and so your presence is somewhat of a mystery. You don't seem to know where you are or how you got here, though surely that is impossible. You don't look like the kind of man who walks the world in a heavy a fog. It raises so many questions."


And in but a couple sentences his thoughts were shown to be accurate. Though it was well spoken she wanted to understand the situation for his presence first before taking any further violent actions. Especially given he’d managed to not outright die at her first attack. Ludwig’s face in the meantime relaxed as well displaying his usual small smile. Ludwig had to be cautious but that didn’t mean he couldn’t indulge her questions. Certainly if he wanted to remain amongst the living he’d need to. And he imagined his silence did not help that at all but given his predicament he couldn’t actually speak lest he give away one of his abilities. This left one method of communication, writing. Hopefully she wouldn’t be too offended at this or at how he was going to deliver it.


Once Amalia had finished her initial comment Ludwig reached within his pocket and pulled out a notebook. Ludwig was fortunate to have his normal notebook on him given he was terrible at remembering things outside of work. Using his pencil to write in Spencerian cursive as he made his response to Amalia, all the while keeping an eye on her as he wrote. “To start I’d like to apologize for having to write rather than address you normally. I’ve currently lost my voice so this is currently the only form of communication I can offer, I hope this will suffice for the time being. As for the distress and chaos I caused I would like to apologize as well, my intention was not to bring this about. As you mentioned I am not from around here however my appearance was unintentional. I cannot accurately describe what happened but if I were to try it’d simply be a series of unfortunate events that lead to my arrival. If I’m honest your questions are more than likely the same ones I’ve got currently. My apologies if this is not the answer you were hoping for. If you don’t mind I also have a couple questions as well. Where exactly am I? You are correct in assuming I have no knowledge of this place. Also why is this realm a “holy land”, I was unaware quincy had any specific homeland. And lastly if I may, I’d like to know your name also. Mine is signed at the end of this note.”


While writing Ludwig took note of Amalia’s glance and body language towards him. All he did was raise an eyebrow out of instinct before continuing to write. You know I never once thought my...preference, would be very helpful. Seems it worked out well here as this must have worked on many a person for her to even consider it as a tactic. Heh, even if I didn’t bat for the “other team” she’s much too gaudy in her clothing choice for my tastes. I feel something more simplistic and not over the top would suit her better. Ah well at least this can be my personal secret for the moment. He gave a very soft chuckle to himself and if Amalia could see it she’d probably assume it was geared towards he approaches being taken positively. The lack of a flustered look however and sincere smile that was more aimed to himself than her would point otherwise however but these would be his only signs.


Once finished with writing his response Ludwig made sure he had been honest but not too open with his response. He was not about to trust her, in any capacity, but for his own safety he would play along. At the very least he was respectful in his response and to the point. Hell even with his questions he felt they were reasonable. Once he was satisfied he signed his name at the end of the note, Ludwig Verrlicht, and proceeded to fold it into a paper airplane. Gods here was where she might take insult if she hadn’t already however he continued on as he wasn’t able to hand it to her himself. Thankfully she was a short distance and the wind was in his favor so when he gently threw the paper airplane it went directly to her. It was up to Amalia to grab a hold and read it but if she did she’d be as knowledgeable on the situation as Ludwig was on his end, for the most part.

Amalia couldn't help but notice just how cautiously Ludwig was while he wrote the note. He still didn't trust her, and rightfully so. She wondered what he was doing, having not spoken a word. He couldn't possibly rely on paper and pen to communicate to Amalia. No, that simply wouldn't do. She watched him cast the note into the wind and it flutter toward her. She casually reached out and grabbed the paper. She unfolded it before flicking it with her wrist in order to reduce creasing. As she flicked it her eyes glanced at Ludwig as she blankly stared at the paper.

There was a moment of silence as she read. Such a pity. This simply won't do. She thought to herself. She displayed no reaction as her eyes slowly targeted Ludwig. She opened her mouth slightly, as though she was going to respond. Her right hand released the note and immediately and swiftly pointed forward as her side-arm released an arrow slightly smaller than before. The arrow rocketed straight toward him, but now at double the speed (!600).She had aimed the arrow at his leg in an effort to cripple him, but even if it missed it would explode. She rolled her eyes, sighed, and crumpled the paper with one hand before tossing it. 

The class one arrow erupted in the distance, creating a fantastic light show and generating so much power and force that the wind blew and flames fanned as the explosion grew. Amalia's spiritual pressure was so great that a class one arrow would be devastating to anyone unlucky enough to be caught by it or its blast. The radius of such an explosion exceed 40 feet, leaving Ludwig with little means of escaping the blast. Amalia's body quaked from the inside as the searing pain of a class one technique surged through her body. She leaned over for a moment as she clenched her fist. 

She raised her head. "I was hoping we might do this the easy way. Where I play nice and you simply play the role of the fool. And when I had acquired all that I wanted to know, I'd kill you unexpectedly and you'd be none the wiser. I guess you're choosing an alternate path, one that has you writhing in agony by the end of this." She said coldly as her cross pulled in reishi. "What's worse is you're pretending to be mute. It begs the questions, though, are you hiding merely how you arrived here or something else entirely? "

Amalia shrugged off the thought and smirked. "Come out and face your executioner, Captain." She pointed her hand and continued to fire arrows form her side arm. She fired in an arc formation, but the arrows were released out of order. She didn't know if the earlier arrow hit its mark, but her energy sensory was sharp enough to spot him among the flames. His release had him shining like  beacon in a dark room. She fired to the far left, roughly 30 feet from where he was standing. She fired to the far right, again 30 feet from where he stood. She then fired two arrows to left and two more to the right. Each of the arrows were spaced roughly 10 feet from one another. The subsequent explosions would create a chain that overlaps and leaves little or no room of escape, forcing him to endure the force of attack or somehow shield the damage. 

All six of the side-arm arrows were class five and moving at 1600 speed. The shear speed and arc measuring thirty feet in both direction from where he last stood would create trouble circumstances for Ludwig. The fires from her previous arrow was still burning in the forest behind him and the radius of each blast likely exceeded 10ft. The explosions were glorious and practically boxed him in. Amalia could feel the pain of each arrow coursing through her body. Her skin felt prickly and warm, but this was nothing compared to class one. 

"Poor Captain. So far from the comfort and safety of the Soul Society." She taunted. With a devilish laugh she walked toward the flames. "I now see just how clueless you truly are. That vacant stare told me all I needed to know. If you knew where you were and who I was, you wouldn't be playing mute. You would have released that Bankai. It is about the only recourse you have." A smile carved into her cheeks as her words dripped with a most caustic venom. "Today you die, Captain. For committing a most vile crime. But rejoice! Your corpse will keep many warm on these cold winter nights."

As much as Ludwig would have loved to be surprised at the choice Amalia made to initiate a sneak attack, he wasn’t. The sad fact was just as Amalia thought he didn’t trust her whatsoever, and it wasn’t even because she’d fired the arrow at him prior. Hell that was somewhat acceptable considering he’d released and popped up out of scenic nowhere. No what he didn’t trust was that bipolar response to him as well as the fact that he didn’t even know where he was and she’d never mentioned it to him. As far as Ludwig was concerned he was never going to trust this one, he’d need to find someone else, anyone else if he were to think about getting help.



For the time being however he now had an arrow he couldn’t even see be fired off at him. If he was honest there were only a couple reasons he knew an attack was coming his way. Intuition and the way he arm moved seemed odd. Loe and behold he saw the show of a side arm and knew even if he couldn’t see it he’d need to move and quick. Thus as Amalia had fired off the initial shot he’d shunpo’d back 50 feet, just enough out of range that he would be without harm. The explosion that came from said arrow though was both impressive and terrifying, if he’d been hit by that broken bones would be the least of his problems.



“Jesus woman, all I did was ask the name of this place. It’s like I stepped into 1940’s France again where my existence is worthy of death.” He let out a sigh as he had whispered his comment to himself, unable to be heard via the explosion in front of him. As he spoke a small speech bubble appeared with 5 symbols. Ludwig merely rolled his eyes and before he knew it the speech bubble was gone. Now wasn’t the time for it let alone the potential 5 bombs in front of him, thankfully Amalia had no chance of seeing this either as she’d not be able to see it through the explosion nor the fact she felt more arrows were necessary.



And as luck would have it Ludwig was well prepared for the next volley of arrows. He wasn’t super smart but even Ludwig could take a guess and say she’d fire more arrows to try and limit his movement. A handy feature when one’s arrows were able to be miniature nukes. While Ludwig reached into his bag of shenanigans to quickly pull out a couple items he noticed that Amalia had to take a couple seconds before continuing her assault. Odd. She shouldn’t be slow down by such a simple attack, perhaps that was the cost for such explosive force? Whatever the case was Ludwig took that as a mental note and proceeded to pull out two little stars. Small, obnoxiously yellow and both class 3 due to his release.



Once he noted that Amalia was going to fire more arrows, weaker arrows at that, he threw out his stars to either side of him, sure they wouldn’t be even half as fast as the arrows but given the short space between him compared to the distance they had to travel first, he had more than enough time to place them about where he thought the arrows would end up. His intention had been to have them be defend him against the blast but he found out that his stars had a better plan in mind. Instead of blocking they actually caught the arrows mid flight and rebounded them into the vicinity of the other two arrows at either end. This had the two explosions face one another instead of hitting Ludwig. Needless to say Ludwig was pleasantly surprised and when his stars faded away he bid them farewell with a small thank you.



Glancing over at Amalia, more accurately side glancing at her as though she weren’t his main priority he merely shrugged at her. His expression was a decently sized frown with much colder eyes than prior. Unreleased he was far more prone to his emotions and her words though they “hurt” would have been far more biting had he remained unreleased. Small unknown fact however once he released he actually didn’t get hampered by his emotions anymore. Thus while her words bit at him they were nothing more than the equivalent of a child who thought they held absolute power. There was no doubt she was incredibly powerful but that arrogance of hers would be her undoing at some point. If not by Ludwig then by someone else later on.



Finally taking the time to turn his body to face Amalia he brought up both hands and curled his fingers towards himself. The message clear, “C’mon now don’t stop on my accord.” With one deep breath his face went to being impassive and his eyes turned to a deep emerald green but as cold and hard as the stone if it’d been left out in the winter. They weren’t going to miss a thing so long as he could help it. In the meantime Ludwig had mentally spoken the incantation to Bakudo #55: Mutsohoyo imbuing his pencil with Bakudo #63: Sajosabaku and making sure to recite it’s incantation as he kept his eyes on Amalia so that he could react to whatever she’d do next.



A dream within a dream, a heart within a soul, a core within a nucleus which in turn is within an atom. Within all there is still more. And within thee, I place this seal. Bakudo #55 Mutsohoyo. This was merely a defensive tool for him to use later on. The odds were slim he’d ever get close enough to utilize this technique but if push came to shove he could get within touching distance and spring this on her. At a distance the odds were basically 0 that this would hit thus he’d not use it in that manner unless necessary. To Amalia assuming she paid attention to his reiatsu it would look as though it flared slightly before dying back down to the same state it was. His pencil never giving off any more reiatsu than it had been prior, hell it didn’t even look different. For all intents and purposes it could more easily be assumed it was Ludwig flaring because of an emotion that he was hiding behind a facade.

Amalia watched as her arrows soared through the smoke caused by the previous explosion and was able to immediately sense two objects nearing her arrows. She grinned softly as the stars attempted to redirect the arrows. Unfortunately, the arrows were volatile and upon making contact with anything would instantly explode. The stars were a clever attempt, but did nothing to lessen the radius of the explosion. If Ludwig hadn't moved prior to releasing his stars, the blast radius would likely reach him causing moderate burns.

Wasting no time, Amalia used Hirenkyaku to multiply her speed by 10 (4000). Instead of remaining on the ground, she took to the air, vanishing from sight in an instant. A distinct advantage for any Quincy was their ability to control reishi and therefore use air-ground in even the most densely spiritual areas. Much like the Soul Society, Silbern was rich in reishi and made it impossible for Shinigami to create reishi platforms. Appearing 20ft above and five feet behind Ludwig, she could see him despite the flames and smoke. Amalia clasped her hands together and pulled back her right arm, forming a bow from pure reishi. In the bow was four class two arrows. She spun around quickly firing the four arrow, each arrow landing in a circular formation around him.

The arrows detonated upon impact, each with a radius of at least 25ft. The arrows were strategically fired so he was surrounded by walls of flames, though the radius of the explosion would produce enough heat and impact to envelope him from each side. If he survived, she wondered if he'd brave the flames, searing his flesh and clothing more than what he had already experienced. As the explosions boomed and echoed, Amalia could feel the unbelievable pain in her body. She leaned over, practically falling to her knees. Not for a moment did she take her eyes off his relative location.

Even if he couldn't achieve air-ground, he was capable of Kido. Though such a thing would truly be a waste. Lifting her torso, Amalia straightened her posture. She wondered the nature of his release and what he had been planning prior to her assault. She could sense everything he was doing, including using Kido. She couldn't quite decipher the purpose or what he had planned, but she might not even need to worry. Amalia was hoping she successfully walled him in, reducing his mobility dramatically. She inhaled deeply, as she stretched her body in an effort to dispel some of the pain. Amalia stared down at the smoldering flames and grinned proudly. "Before this is over, you will speak, if only with agonizing screams." She said softly.

Ludwig watched as his stars made contact with the arrows, smiling inwardly at least at the fact they would deflect the arrows elsewhere… That was until his mind auto-corrected itself because in all actuality those arrows were explosives. One couldn’t simply deflect an explosive because they had a strong wall, no they’d still explode upon contact. And though Ludwig had barely the mental capacity to realize this he wasn’t quite able to keep up with the arrows and step his way into safety. Make no mistake though the only thought in his head at that moment was to shunpo his ass backwards to avoid most of the flames and explosion. This worked for the most part. At the end of the day the force of the explosion still hit him as did some of the heat even but it wasn’t enough that his couple seconds too late Shunpo couldn’t prevent the majority of the damage. The force of the explosion alone hit him in the chest and made him lose most of his breath more of his personal haiori and attire starting to singe and burn. Once Ludwig was in a not exploding spot he just frowned as he was really starting to think his haoiri wouldn’t survive this.



This is when yet another set of his limiting barriers broke down. Not only did he regain his breath and stamina in general but he also could finally process things at a far more manageable speed than he had been prior. And that was saying something considering he’d actually been doing pretty well at that. That’s when he remembered something, small and almost insignificant at the time, but currently something important. It was back at his time in the academy while he was being instructed the basics of kido and there was one who had been excelling to the point even the instructors were a tad concerned. However this was because he was doubling over in pain after every spell and it hadn’t made sense until later on in the day he was explained why. Very rarely are there people who are just unstable in a spiritual sense allowed massive strength and reservoirs but unable to fully utilize due to their inability to cope with pain. Sure some kido’s caused pain but the level these individuals would feel it at was far higher and more potent. Thus with Amalia’s actions after every firing of her bow and arrows it made sense. He’d need a more definitive display but he was certain she may just be of a similar sort of being. Which would explain the monstrous powerhouse that she was and why she had these odd movements after every attack.



Though while Ludwig finally had his realization Amalia had fired yet more arrows. Why? Ludwig could only guess it was because if one explosion didn’t fix the problem then she’d need to use every arrow at her disposal. And from the sheer energy this one was putting off, these arrows were not the same ones he’d just been singed by. He didn’t have much time but what else could Ludwig do? Sure the explosions in front of him were almost done but he had a fresh helping of death by Amalia coming his way from behind also. So what else was there that he could do? He didn’t want to show any of his release’s abilities just yet as Amalia hadn’t even begun to show her own abilities, she’d instead decided that he was weak enough to JUST use arrows that happened to explode. The answer was simple, just use Sho except instead of at his hands, use it at his feet. It would be a mock Shunpo basically but he’d be able to propel himself into the air so why not? Without even thinking past the name Ludwig damn near yelled it mentally and with a bit of focus to his feet managed to fire off two show, one per foot, flinging himself into the air.



Not daring to allow Amalia a moment to fire yet another arrow at him he quickly pulled out a small flashbang. Sure it only had half his total power but with that being made into a light, it was going to be incredibly bright, especially with all the snow that was around, regardless of Amalia’s explosive arrows. He’d throw it at her but in truth it didn’t matter if it was near, at, or even in the opposite direction. Only a moment later it exploded and let loose a light that was bright enough to be a small sun and assuming Amalia hadn’t closed her eyes as she’d probably expect a literal bomb she’d be blinded physically. Not to mention even turning her eyes away would allow the reflective snow to shine for at least a couple moments. This wouldn’t stop Amalia from sensing Ludwig but when she’d open her eyes again she’d be blinded temporarily and then would see the world in doubles or worse for the next couple minutes, per the usual for flashbang’s.



At this point Ludwig would be “controlled” in his falling back to the ground, not having been terribly high to begin with and would land using yet one more sho but at lesser power so that he could land softly. Amalia still had the high ground but Ludwig, who’d known what he was bringing out prior would be able to see a bit easier, mostly due to closing his eyes. However also per the use of flashbangs the high decibel sound blast would have his ears ringing, just as it would Amalia’s. By this point Ludwig would pull out another flashbang just to be safe and would throw a bomb of his own, in the form of a cheesily drawn diamond. Then quickly draw a black circle and a rubber band gun. They wouldn’t appear out of his book but more lie in waiting for him to pay the reiatsu to create them.



If Ludwig was honest with himself the diamond wasn’t meant to hit her, if it did great, but the real idea was to have Amalia move somewhere else and buy himself a couple moments. That way if she did move he could move with her so that he remained underneath and subsequently cast Kanji Taiho so he could get in close and tap her with his pencil. If she didn’t move and instead she blocked it in some other manner then he’d at least learn something useful and promptly throw yet another flashbang. This one more intended to continue the ringing in her ears as she probably wouldn’t be able to tell that he threw yet another near her. Like before though if he blinded her again even better but he doubted she’d fall for the same trick twice. Ludwig on the other hand would have his ears covered so that he could mitigate the damage to them and turn around so he wouldn’t be hit as bad by the light, energy senses completely focused on Amalia in the meantime.

Amalia smiled as her opponent continued to evade her arrows, though not completely unscathed. The symbol of his position burned away like it were nothing. "How fitting." She stated arrogantly, just before she watched him activate sho. Her eyes locked onto the bag his hand was currently rummaging through. That has to be associated with his release. She noted to herself. That aside, not even the clever use of kido could bridge this gap. Amalia immediately summoned her Eiku in her right hand as she saw the bomb in his hand.

She narrowed her eyes just as it exploded, a blinding light coursing through the sky. She quickly closed her eyes, but light had already managed to reach her. "Ahh!" She shouted. The intensity of the light was painful and forced tears to drip from her eyes due to irritation. She didn't pause for more than a second as rage immediately fueled her next attack. Reishi began coursing through her veins as she activated Blut arterie, doubling her RS (4000). "This won't save you!" She said angrily as she simultaneously swung her Eiku in Ludwig's direction. That swing generated eight individual masses of reishi, each fueled by her increased RS. They were hurled at Ludwig while he continued to fall from using Sho, their size rapidly increasing. 

With immense speed the eight speeding balls of reishi morphed into blazing, meteor-sized clusters of reishi. Each of these spheres were 15ft in circumference, emitted searing heat, and moved at 800 speed. The size and spread of these meteor-like objects made them nearly impossible to avoid and was further complicated due to Ludwig's inability to control his movement in the way he would if he could use air-ground. Ludwig would immediately feel the heat generated from these spheres as they hurtled toward him. His skin would begin to burn and bubble as the heat bathed him. That is before he was pulverized by the sheer force behind the spheres.

Amalia didn't bother adding her typical laughter as she was busy rubbing her eyes. She blinked several times and immediately took notice of her blurred vision. "Fucking Shinigami." She mumbled angrily. It didn't matter. She could sense his reiatsu clear as day. She delivered a most irritated expression as her ears rang and her eyes watered. Amalia knew where she stood. The forest was to her left and the homes were to her right. Behind her was more wooded area while in the front there was a frozen body of water just beyond the large open area. 

Despite the blurriness, Amalia activated a most specialized technique. Her eyes began to vibrate, though this was nothing Ludwig could see with the meteor's clearly blocking his line of sight and drawing his attention. They vibrated for a moment before a her eyes became pure blue and a hagal rune became embossed on them. She simply looked down and was able to see everything so clearly. His spirit lit up perfectly. "Your childish tricks can't block my gaze." She said with confidence. Things are about to get very interesting. She added mentally with a devious grin. The other techniques were no more than a tickle due to her experience and strength allowing her to shrug them off. However, the others she felt. She stiffened her body and grinned through the pain, knowing it would be worth it. She leaned over slightly, her expression fading. She rubbed her arm tenderly, as if to soothe her aching body. She gritted her teeth, rage building alongside her pain.

Amalia began using air-ground like stairs, moving another 10 ft and was now 35 feet above Ludwig. She walked right across the sky, knowing nothing would encumber her path. All while she did this the meteors were raining down on him and searing his flesh. He was going to come out of this freshly cooked, his skin bubbling and raw from exposure. Though that'd be the least of his worries if he didn't escape the crushing force of the meteors. Amalia knew what she would do should he use another of those explosive devices, though there was so much she still didn't know about his release. He was purposely concealing it from her, but she was certain his silence was involved.

Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect): Amalia forges her choice weapon, the Eiku, by compressing reishi and reshaping it. It becomes a solid object and does not resemble raw energy. The Eiku’s total length is 60in, the handle being 18in and the paddle 42in. The paddle is approximately 16in wide and both sides are sharpened like the edge of a katana.



The eiku can be used for both defense and offense. It has the durability to withstand other techniques and deflect them using the flattened end of the paddle. However, clash-rules apply. The flat-edge of the paddle, while used mostly defensively, can be used like a hammer. Traditionally, however, the edges of the eiku are used for cutting and cleaving.



How to use technique (How is it activated?): By spending 150 reiatsu, the user can compress and shape reishi into an Eiku.

Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect):



A divine gift granted exclusively to Sternritter by his Majesty. This technique allows the user to acquire a perfect analysis of anyone’s spiritual signature within a radius of 50 feet. Upon activation, the user’s eyes begin to subtly vibrate before the pupil becomes blue, overtake the iris, and become embossed with a hagal rune.

With these divine eyes, the user can gaze upon an opponent and identify their unique spiritual signature. Once they have acquired this information, any projectile technique they utilize, while this is active, will have the ability to home in on an opponent indefinitely. This technique can be applied to more than one person, but it requires a post of analysis for each person. As long as the user keeps the technique active, all projectile techniques can benefit from the homing aspect.



While any technique imbued with this one can continuously pursue a target, it does not change their speed or the degree of damage they inflict. It can only be used on projectile type techniques or items independent of the user. The user cannot use this technique on hand-held weapon such as katana. It can be utilized, however, on small projectiles such as daggers, throwing knives, and kunai, to name a few. Even when objects are granted homing abilities, they must yield to basic movement limitations. That is, they will need to curve around and re-attempt to strike the target.



How to use technique (How is it activated?): Activated by paying 300 reiatsu and using that post to acquire the reiatsu signal. The user can imbue up to 10 items, each costing 50 reiatsu, to home indefinitely until destroyed or deactivated. The user has the option of paying 100 reiatsu, per post, following activation to maintain any spiritual signal and continue to imbue items should they be destroyed. At no time can more than 10 items be imbued with this ability, but the ability can be removed from an item and transferred to another without cost.

Sends spirit particles hurtling at an opponent with a swing of the broad-end of the eiku. As they travel they collect other particles like a snow-ball effect, but do so with intense speed and efficiency. They become so large that they resemble small meteors and hit targets and bore into them not unlike a fiery meteor. The user can control how many are created, but no more than eight can be created at one time. Durability/strength is equivilant to the user's RS.



Eight of the objects are created and have a circumference of 15ft. They travel at a speed of 800, but their sheer size and number make them difficult to dodge. Each radiates an intense heat and are heavy and capable of pulverizing most objects. Standard clash-rules apply.



How to use technique (How is it activated?): By offering 400 reiatsu to activate and pairing it with a weapon.



Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc): Repeated use of this technique is capable of destroying the weapon being used to direct it. If the user employs this technique twice the weapon will break.

[Ludwig Verrlicht]

Hearing Amalia yell out at the initial flashbang brought Ludwig some joy in that his idea had worked. However her response made his blood go as cold as ice. He didn’t know just what sort of monster he was facing but now she had just bolstered herself up to something even more terrifying than arguably even the captain commander. Just who the fuck was this woman who could have so much power? To make matters worse she’d decided retaliation was exactly the correct response and instead of arrows now she’d fired meteors. Fucking meteors. Oh this was perfect he wanted variety and she’d found something far worse to throw at him. Ludwig intimately regretted asking for her to throw something different his way. But that aside he was now mid air and had to manage with these monsters of meteors. The first order of business was easy enough, two more sho’s on his feet except he’d repositioned himself to aim downward but at an angle so he could get away a bit easier. Having taken note of the initial difficulties with sho-stepping he’d managed far better this time and even was able to land on his feet when he came to the ground. Subsequently he shunpo’d even farther away just to give himself a bit more space before the meteors would hit.



So what could he do? He needed to escape these things as fighting them or even attempting to deflect them wasn’t a possibility. So what then? To his immense displeasure if he didn’t act fast enough these meteors would catch him and subsequently destroy the area they were in also. Try as he might Ludwig had ONE. Singluar. Only. Method out. He had to open up yet another door that was connected to the dangai. Had his life not been in danger he’d had never used this again until he was in a safer area but now with meteors on his ass? Well he could only be thankful Amalia actually couldn’t see given these things had been growing as they travelled and that there were 8 total. Fuck it I’ve no other choice. Gods help me because I don’t have another option. Ludwig quickly charged reiatsu into his hand and thrust it into the space in front of him. It made a sleek black door with a silver handle almost instantly. He promptly threw open door and ran his ass inside it shutting it just seconds before the meteors hit.



And there he was back in the dangai, it pulsing with his reiatsu as took a moment to breath just glad he’d made it inside and didn’t merge with yet another wall of the dangai. Once his breath was caught again he took a moment to think over what all he’d experienced from just the short interaction with Amalia thus far. Alright so she’s clearly a fucking monster… Well at least with that much spiritual power and just spiritual energy backing her up. However she has a period of weakness that occurs with every attack she does given it’s spiritual in nature. This isn’t something I’m overly familiar with but these are the only moments I have to fight back. So what can I do? I can’t overpower her whatsoever. So then the only options I’ve left are to try and run away, emphasis on try or if I intend to continue fighting her I need to make her unable to fight. Though I doubt bakudo will really have any chance of affecting her I have to try. It’s really the only means of escape I’ve got given I need to give myself a very real and safe opening to try and escape.



Ludwig just stood thinking for a moment. If he could cast kido multiple times and not have it be from just one direction Amalia would inevitably have to figure out a means of dodging all of the kido. Especially if he could time it within the period of each “cooldown” period she had presumably because of pain. Ludwig quickly made his way down the passage certain his time by this point was nearly up in the temporary dangai he’d made. In the meantime ludwig spoke quietly to himself making 3 more bombs. One in the form of a small carrot, one in the form of a tiny mallet not unlike one mario wields, and the last a small star. Ludwig just chuckled as he took each small bomb he had and held it between both his hands. This was going to be expensive and tire him out but he needed to imbue all these bombs with kido. Bakudo specifically, except for one. The small star would have his strongest hado instead in an attempt to capitalize on Amalia’s thoughts of him using solely bakudo. By the time same door from earlier appeared Ludwig had finished barely in time and had to make room for all these last 3 bombs in his pockets. Gods help him he was going to need it stepping out this door to face off against that monster again.



With a deep breath he opened the door and appeared underneath Amalia. His energy being the obvious give away to his position. With the door gone Ludwig would look up at Amalia waiting for whatever her next attack would be. He still had managed to draw a black circle in his notebook but wasn’t going to use that unless absolutely necessary as it was yet another ace in the hole for him. While he had a moment to breath he also drew a couple other objects, one being a lightning bolt and the other a meteor, inspired off of the recent attack from Amalia. Until he was certain he could do something other than dodge Amalia’s barrage of attacks he wasn’t going to try and spawn out anything. It was just too risky currently. Though he was silent even still and just looking at Amalia internally he was very concerned at the prospect of this fight. He didn’t even think she was trying and here he was struggling. This terror must have been what Yoko felt when they fought. He chuckled mentally, welp it was his turn now to be concerned but no matter how worried he was he had to ensure he made it back to his squad. His own rule coming to his mind that every member needed to return after each mission. He wasn’t going to be able to do this if he didn’t start trying to be more aggressive in his fighting so better late than never to start.

Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect):

In order to bring some life and individuality to his squad, Ludwig began looking over what his squad was most known in an effort to apply it to more areas. What better place to look at than the massive doorway they manipulate? With this in mind Ludwig took his knowledge of how the Senkaimon works to apply it to a more short use and combat efficient pathway. The first of these is what he calls Dimension Door.

This technique is the most simple of all the techniques of this series but also the most fundamental as the other techniques cannot begin to be learned without understanding the operation of the Senkaimon itself and what it is. It is a means of going from point A to point B, a pathway except between worlds. Dimension Door takes this idea but simplifies it by making it a shortcut to another zone in the same space, making it a sort of mini-senkaimon. The door produced however appears in the form of whatever the user pleases but lasts only a few seconds, maximum of 10 since its purpose is to be a quick entry point. On top of this the area that the door will appear at must be selected by the user prior to entering the space, this is done mentally. Upon initially learning the technique the Dimension Door can take the user a maximum of 100 feet in any direction by forming a small path in the Dangai. The exit door appears once the user is within 5 feet of their maximum distance and lasts until the user exits the door completely. Once the user becomes proficient in the use of Dimension Door they can travel an extra 50 feet totaling to 150 they can travel. Emphasis on CAN because they can also choose to open the door earlier with no extra cost. At the mastered level the user can then on top of the extended range and choice of where the door opens along the way can bring a companion or two maximum due to the Dangai being stable enough to support more than just the user.

How to use technique (How is it activated?):

Charge rieatsu into the hand intended to come in contact with the door then thrust your hand into the space in front of you. This is similar to how a zanpakuto must be stabbed into the space in front of the user to summon the original Senkaimon. Once the door appears, open and walk through.

Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) (Insert Below)

To start the technique costs more than a normal class 4 tech at 200 Rieatsu everytime the door is used and can only be used every other post. This technique counts against the number of steps one can use in a post. The second and arguably biggest flaw is the door has a durability, if someone is quick enough to harm the door as it appears or before it disappears the user if inside, entering, or exiting the Dangai will be thrust out with a force equal to the OS used to destroy the door, this applies to all who enter with the user. The doors Durability is equal to the users highest spiritual stat. Lastly the user must be taught this technique in a training thread by another that knows it.

Technique Description and Effects:

This is a sealing technique. It is used not to seal the enemy however, but to seal another Kido. This has two distinct effects. The first is that it can be used to seal a Kido inside of an object, which for the next hour can instantly activate that Kido at any time at will of the user, even if left behind somewhere. It costs the cost of this technique and the cost of the Kido in question. That is one way of using it. The second is more effective. This can seal a technique inside of an enemy or an ally. The technique in question has its reiatsu broken down by the enemy or ally, who then gains extra reiatsu to use. The full reiatsu put into the technique, except for this Bakudo, goes into the enemy. Therefore, if Hado #88 was sealed in the enemy or ally, all of that reiatsu simply converts into 600 reiatsu for the enemy to use.

The trouble comes there. If the enemy or ally is given reiatsu that causes them to go over their current cap, they must spend all excess in their next post, or their body will explode from the excess and they will die. This can be used at the start of the fight as a bomb technique on suspecting enemies.

How to use technique:

To seal a technique inside of the enemy, the user needs to have physical contact with the part of the body that they will be sealing the technique into. They then activate this technique and pay the cost for it and the technique they wish to seal within the foe. Alternatively, the same is said of an object. Seal this into an object with physical contact with the object, and then use the object as one sees fit. The object automatically releases the Kido if the user gets up to a mile away from it. The object also cannot exceed the user in size.

Technique Drawbacks:

This technique leaves behind physical remnant of techniques. This means that if one were to use a stone based Kido that made stone, while the reiatsu would go into an ally, the stones would still form and remain behind. The same is true of an object, which would become filled by stones. This makes it highly implausible to use elemental Kido on objects or allies. Things such as fire, wind, or lightning, which are only temporary elements that cannot be long lasting can still be used, and they will have no remnants, and instead will just convert directly into reiatsu.

Incantation and Effect):

The incantation causes the class of the Kido imbued to go up by one, resulting in a higher class Kido for the cost of one class lower. For example, if a class 5 Kido is imbued, the incantation causes it to be valued at class 4 instead. It uses the same cost as a class 5 Kido however, the only extra cost being that of this technique. ("A dream within a dream, a heart within a soul, a core within a nucleus which in turn is within an atom. Within all there is still more. And within thee, I place this seal!"]

Amalia wiped some tears from around her eyes before blinking twice. She narrowed her eyes as Ludwig's reiatsu signature vanished. A smile graced her lips as she looked toward the ground, her meteors ravaging the landscape with fiery explosions. The remains of the ground were scarred from the impact, rife with deep craters and smoldering debris. "We're going to play that game, are we?" She said softly under her breath. Amalia did not the origin of the technique he was using, but was certain it was spacial or dimensional in nature. If he was skilled in stealth he would have used it prior to this and none of the typical kido would deceive her senses or the Eyes of God.

Whatever it was, he was beyond her reach for the moment. There was nothing to do but prepare for his arrival. Amalia looked into her palm as a sphere of reishi began to coalesce, though its apparent purity shifted. The light dimmed and it took on a darker blue hue. She lightly tossed it into the air, causing it to levitate by her shoulder. Amalia deactivated blut arterie as her other technique began to blossom, needing time to properly mature. She inhaled as a stringing sensation scattered across her skin, poking at her from the inside like tiny needles. She winced as she tightened her grip on her Eiku. 

She closed her eyes and sat with the pain, its potency crescendoing. And then he appeared. The smile that faded from her lips returned as she sensed his energy once more. The moment the dimensional door opened his reiatsu leaked from within the confines of the Dangai. The time had come for Amalia to see just how agile the captain was. He seemed nimble enough, using low level kido to propel himself through the air when airground was not an option. Though crude nimbleness at best. Amalia looked below her, watching the captain exit the strange gateway. That not a Senkaimon. How peculiar. This is a technique I am unfamiliar with. It allows him to exit this space, but isn't meant to transport anyone otherwise he would have used it to escape. Perhaps this could be an explanation for why he is here in the first place. No Shinigami has ever stepped foot in Silbern until now. I must determine what technique he is using. She thought. 

She raised her hand and began firing a succession of arrows from her sidearm. She fired five in all, each of which was class three. She imbued each of the arrows with a boost to their speed and with explosive potential. Let's see you escape this. She thought amusingly. The arrows fired one at a time, but darted at Ludwig with 1600 speed. With use of Augen Gottes, each arrow would pursue Ludwig indefinitely. She wondered if after he caught on he'd manage to thwart the arrows. Her interest eclipsed her desire to kill him for the moment. Though that simply gave her more time to plan ways to torture him upon his capture, which she suspected was inevitable. 

The arrows continued on their course, heading directly toward Ludwig. Should he evade using shunpo they would quickly following him. With Augen Gottes they capable of tracking his spiritual signature and would not be thrown off by movement. They would simply correct their course and pursue him to whatever location he attempted to quickly relocate. Should they come in contact with him, they would erupt with a huge explosion, its radius far reaching do to her reiatsu strength. Meanwhile, she was steadily summoning Zusammenbruch, which would wreak havoc on an unsuspecting Ludwig. As her cross drew in reishi, she took notice of Ludwig's hands. He was holding some sort of book. This was the same notebook he used to send her that note. She was almost certain he was being dishonest earlier, which made her wonder what use he would have for that book. Could it be his release? Odd release, even for a Zanpakuto. 

Amalia focused on it for a moment, sensing the reiatsu emanating from it. Her gaze intensified as she stared at Ludwig's face. She wasn't paying attention earlier, though she should have been. Her rage likely detracted from her focus, but it was beginning to make sense now. If that notebook was the manifest ion of his release, it most certainly had to do with activities associated with a notebook. Writing? Drawing? She narrowed her eyes and delivered a contemptible stare. How foolish she was before. That note he sent her should have easily tipped her off. The presence of a Shinigami in the Silbern had certainly thrown her. But no longer. She now knew the contents of that book and whatever he wrote or drew in it was to be avoided. 

He had carefully planned his attacks so far. It dawned on her in this moment that she had never seen him doodling in that book. Of course not. He used her attacks to obscure his activities. That fool was likely feverishly scribbling while in a separate dimension. What happens once he uses that book? She thought to herself. And another piece to the puzzle came to her. Those bombs!! He animates things using that stupid book! Those bombs definitely weren't formal kido, which means they were derived from his release. It's possible he can dictate the potential for an item while disguising it as something else entirely. She thought to herself. Amalia was beginning to understand Ludwig's release, but she suspected there was far more to learn. She would be certain to keep a close eye on him, tracking his every movement. She wanted to know more. In the mean time, he would have to deal with her arrows. And soon he'd be dealing with something far more sinister. Amalia glanced over at the maturing sphere. "Yes, this will do nicely." She said softly to herself with a gratified tone.

Arrows. Always the damn arrows. And if they weren’t powerful, which was the case for all of them, they were fast. MUCH faster than Ludwig could ever hope to be. Though Ludwig hadn’t initially picked up on their ability to now home in on him he found out very quickly when he shunpo’d forward past all of the arrows and noticed with his meager ES that the arrows were still after him. Taking a glance behind him showed him how not one but every single arrow had slowed just enough to turn before pointing right back in his direction. The world froze for a moment for Ludwig and the only thing he could think was Fuck. What could he do? He didn’t have but a moment or two before he would get hit. And fun fact being hit by 5 explosives wasn’t going to be something he could handle. No matter how powerful he was these arrows in particular would just see him a mess. Unless of course he could make them hit something else.



Having already gotten a look around the area he knew there wasn’t much he could do about having them hit something. The meteors had destroyed a large part of the surrounding area already however a few houses remained standing just outside the molten area. Not to mention there was still the forest line but if these arrows could maneuver around as well as they could already then would a forest even aid him? There wasn’t much he could do but try. With another Shunpo past the arrows he’d make his first and largest initial step into the forest hoping it would aid him somewhat. However he still had a good 50 feet before he could really manage to actually get into the tree line. And with those arrows literally on his tail yet again he didn’t want to test out a shunpo just yet into somewhere he’d just end up running into a tree and then endure a point blank explosion.



Instead he quickly casted Kanji Taiho mentally speaking the incantation as he continued running in the opposite direction of the arrows to get as much distance as he could get. In the meantime he “dropped” a Once he’d finished the incantation he spawned out 6 pillars each at 3 meters wide and have them form a circle around him. With him in the center and about 10 feet from each pillar, his attention was split between using his meager ability to sense Amalia’s arrows that were steadily drawing closer and the monster herself as she was forming an orb of some sort. Ludwig didn’t need to be told that this orb was going to be anything but his personal demise if he wasn’t careful. And that was with him not knowing anything about this orb other than that Amalia had literally decided to form it while having him try to run away from her arrows.



With the couple moments he had prior to the arrows impacting his pillars he grabbed the carrot in his pocket and threw his hand towards Amalia using Sho to fire said carrot at 1200 speed her way. The carrot of course wouldn’t detonate but it would certainly reach her or close to her in a short time meanwhile Ludwig proceeded to rip out a black circle from his book and throw it on the ground. He dropped into the circle, now a hole, as the arrows one after another came upon his pillars destroying them upon impact with their explosive blasts. Ludwig though managed to avoid a majority of the damage though his back felt like it had gotten burned somewhat due to his narrow escape. He could deal with it but he certainly wasn’t happy knowing his haori by this point was practically gone as far as his backside was concerned. Literally only the shoulder portions and the sleeves kept it on him. While he had a moment in the dark space he grabbed the remaining bombs he had with 2 in his left hand and 3 in his right. He didn’t have much else going for him but it was now or never.



Almost before Amalia could react Ludwig would be seen popping out a black hole from the middle of the air where his carrot bomb had been, 10 feet from Amalia. Ludwig smiled softly before throwing each bomb and his pencil towards Amalia in different directions, 2 bombs on her left as well as his pencil and 3 bombs on her right. While Ludwig almost immediately began to fall he’d start letting loose his kido imbued in the different bombs. The first being Rikujokiro, the near instantly spawning 6 blades of light kido. This would spawn quite literally around her but from the flashbomb to her left which subsequently exploded after having the kido spawn. The combined auditory blast and light blast should have made this difficult for even Amalia to dodge as the two combined would be nearly instant in succession.



Regardless Ludwig didn’t stop there making sure to use the small mallet shaped bomb to send out Sajosabaku a few moments later as he assumed she’d try to and probably succeed at evading the initial kido. While the bomb would explode with the area of a hand grenade this would only propel the cloth kido at Amalia ensuring that even if she dodged the first kido there’d be yet another she’d have to dodge and this one a bit stronger in durability though she’d have to destroy the cloth entirely to avoid getting wrapped up by it. This barrage of kido, flash bombs, and bombs would continue each spawning a few moments after the other in order to hit at least one portion of Amalia. With whichever it didn’t matter because the main damage dealer was actually none of the bombs nor the bakudo he’d sent at her. It was instead his Hado.



Normally he’d have used it if he could have touched her but today he was desperate enough to try something else. Something far more dangerous. A go or no go in his mind he spawned the kido in a 40 foot by 40 foot venue around them specifically where ever Amalia was and making her the center of the box. The actual creation of the box taking a mere few moments having been casted only after the initial flashbomb that Amalia more than likely took nearly point blank. Ludwig knew that even if Amalia had the air advantage if she lost her sight and hearing, she’d physically be unable to see this coming. Adding in the the bombs themselves would paint his reiatsu around her making it more difficult than normal to find him or sense other kido being used.Which overall should have made this difficult for Amalia to dodge the entire onslaught. At least that was Ludwig’s understanding anyway. But assuming the box was able to finish building itself and start firing spear after spear at every inch within even Amalia would not be able to dodge the assault. Especially if she’d been caught in one of 5 other bakudo, 3 nearly instant speed rods of light and two slower but more area covering cloth that would attempt to cover her from head to toe.

Amalia’s eyes followed Ludwig’s tenuously coordinated effort to avoid her arrows. They were diligent when imbued with the eyes of God, but not without their weaknesses. Their explosive range and potency certainly made up for that. Despite even that, Amalia was reluctantly confident in her opponent’s capacity to outmaneuver them. He was one of her more slippery opponents. He didn’t seem willing to die as easily as others. No matter. She thought while glancing at Zusammenbruch. Her deliciously evil creation had matured and was ready to wreak havoc. 

The black sphere swelled with energy that interacted immediately with the air around it. She glanced down at Ludwig's makeshift barrier. Three rings of reishi appeared in front of the black sphere when her eyes widened. "Clever boy." She said while noting his use of sho to propel his oddly shaped weapon. It seemed her opponent had a juvenile sense of humor, one she was eager to quiet. The black sphere passed through the rings and multiplied its base speed to 1560. As the carrot approached her sphere darted forward, meeting it at 10 feet. She smiled as the sphere elongated by several feet and pierced the carrot, causing it to shatter into fragments of spiritual energy.

This particular incarnation of her particle techniques neutralized anything composed of spiritual energy, which made it useful against kido-type technique. Unfortunately for Ludwig, he missed the demonstration as he passed through his temporary doorway. He'd likely be exiting just as it was disintegrating. Amalia was somewhat surprised when the black hole appeared and he exited. At the same time, she smiled as her technique pierced his hands like a needle. It penetrated the back of his hand and exited his palm before piercing his other palm and exiting the other side. While it did this, it managed to strike multiple of the bombs, causing them to shatter into fragments of reishi. 

As the thread pierced his hands, it grew barbed protrusions to prevent Ludwig from simply separating his hands and freeing himself. If he were to forcefully do so, they'd shred his hands, their jagged edges latching onto skin and muscle and ripping it from his hands. While his hands would be free, his muscles would be so damaged he would lose the ability to properly move his fingers. Ludwig was now in a terrible predicament and any items that might have survived would have likely fallen from his grip. Should they have gone off, both he and Amalia would have been subject to their wrath.

The black thread reduced its length, pulling his hands closer together. His hands were five inches apart as the thread's tails, protruding from the backs of his hands, began piercing his forearm. Like a needle and thread, they stabbed his skin and exited before entering the other arm. It would become apparent they were sewing his hands together starting at his wrist. They stopped just before his elbows, at which point the threads sprouted tiny barbs like in his hands. All while this was happening, however, Ludwig would have been falling from the air unless he used more innovation to lighten his fall. Amalia would be walking toward where he was and taunting him with her calm disposition. 

"There we go." She said sweetly. "Doesn't that look nice?" Amalia was remarking on the harm her needle and thread had inflicted upon Ludwig as if they had finished an arts and crafts project. She smiled softly as she approached Ludwig who was likely lying on the ground and unable to use his arms. "Zusammenbruch isn't typically used in this way, but why squander a perfectly good opportunity." The quality of her voice darkened as a menacing smile stretched across her face. "Everyone knows it is proper etiquette to welcome guests into your home and make them feel comfortable. Since you're the first guest here in Silbern, there isn't really a detailed protocol for this sort of thing."

Amalia let out a reluctant sigh and expressed feigned humility. "Which means the responsibility is thrust upon me to generate some traditions for guests. And now that I think about," she said as she adopted a contemplative expression, "who better than me to make our very first, but esteemed, guest welcome." Two arrows pierced his legs just above the knee while the other four slammed into his shoulders.

"Let's see if I can't get you to scream. You've been silent as to avoid giving away your shikai, but," she said in a breathy voice, "you can't hope to defeat me without releasing your Bankai. And so far, either you're reluctant, stubborn, or both. Either way, I have a comfy room waiting for you. I'll make sure all the appropriate amenities are made available. She looked at Ludwig and with a heavy breathe, "Let's get you fitted for a black suit." One of her spheres launched at him and unfolded into large black sheet. One began to wrap around his feet and legs, squeezing tightly as they reached up toward his thighs. "Are you as excited as I am?"

Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect): The user densely coalesces reishi into six individual spheres. These spheres are composed of thousands of spiritual particles that are tightly compressed to reduce the overall size of each sphere. While the spheres are smaller than a volleyball at roughly 18 inches in circumference, their sheer volume of spiritual particles comprising each sphere greatly boosts their individual force. Each sphere's offensive and defensive attributes are relative to the user's reiatsu. Each sphere has an individual base speed of 800.



The utility of this technique is not limited to the spherical shape. The user's imagination can greatly inform the technique's versatility because each sphere is completely malleable, offering vast transformative qualities. If the user desires, they can, for example, shape each of the six bodies of particles into large spears or spinning blades, capable of slicing and piercing, not unlike a katana. Due to its malleable nature, it can support flexible movement and is not limited to stiff, static shapes. They take on rudimentary to more intricate shapes, but never become ornate objects like complex guns, cannons, or building structures. The spheres are not simply limited to offensive strategy, but can be used to defend and block incoming attacks. When using this technique offensively, the force of impact can pierce barriers, armor, shields, and flesh and intercept the trajectory of incoming techniques, altering their course. When used defensively, the collections of reishi can be flattened and work together to create a barrier between the user and a technique or stretch and create a dome of protection. It may also be shaped around the users body, taking damage in place of the user. However, normal clash rules apply in both cases.



How to use technique (How is it activated?): By spending 600 reiatsu for the initial activation of the technique(100 for each sphere), and 500 to sustain it during subsequent posts, the user can collect spirit particles and compress them into 6 individual spheres. Whenever the spheres transform into more specific shapes, such as circular blades, spears, or flattened shields, it will require an additional 50 reiatsu to re-shape them. If the user loses a sphere, she may replenish that sphere for an additional 200.



Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc): Prolonged use of the technique requires the above 500 reiatsu to be spent during subsequent posts following the the initial activation. Whenever the spheres completely change their entire shape it requires the user to spend 50 for each sphere to change their shape. As mentioned above, the spheres cannot transform into complex shapes such as guns or machinery. Additionally, the user can only utilize this technique at one time during a thread. Meaning that she cannot repeatedly summon six spheres, leaving her with 12+. She can only possess six at a time of the particle impact.

Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect): Though a variant of particle impact, this incarnation possesses greater destructive capacity. Like particle impact, it malleable in nature. By drawing in reishi and converting its basic properties the user creates an anti-matter of sorts, but for spiritual-based matter. Upon activation of the technique, a single sphere is created, roughly the size of a baseball. When the sphere collides with a technique or weapon formed by a technique, it fractures the bonds between spirit particles and corrupts the spirit energy, causing it to immediately disassemble. So, for example, an opponent discharging a class one or lower technique will observe that the technique begins to become pixelated and disintegrate into fragments. Standard clash rules apply.

The sphere can disrupt spiritual-based techniques and weapons, destroying them, and can seriously wound an opponent if it touches their bare skin. It will not pierce the skin or degrade the individual with the same effectiveness as other objects, as the bonds of a spiritual being are stronger, but it will damage their skin. It will leave festering burns and wounds. Alone they are not lethal, but can become so if the individual experiences dozens. Its true purpose is to break-down spirit-based attacks, regardless of whether they are elemental in nature, and weapons composed of spirit energy. It has no effect on non-spiritual beings or objects, such as humans or regular weapons (knives, daggers, swords, etc.). The sphere's base speed is 800.

How to use technique (How is it activated?): By spending 600 reiatsu during a preparation post and an additional 300, per post, following the activation of the technique. The user spends 600 during the preparation post, and can proceed with their battle, but will not benefit for having spent the reiatsu until the following post. Upon activation, however, the user will begin paying the 300 reiatsu. This will create an additional sphere with the aforementioned properties.

Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc): This requires a post for preparation, forfeiting 600 reiatsu. The technique does not activate, however, upon spending the reiatsu. It will activate at the beginning of the following post. It during the activation post that the user must spend 300 reiatsu, beginning the per-post cost for maintenance. The technique cannot, however, shatter the strong bonds comprising individual opponents. It will damage them, but not have the same disastrous effect as it does on techniques. It is also incapable of destroying such weapons as Zanpakuto (and equivalent).
