I liked when Ray presented this idea originally, as we really could use a type that cut physicals in exchange for Spirituals, as the only other type that does so is Genius. However, I found the numbers to be extremely finicky. It outperformed Spirited too easily. However, I've been working on the numbers, and I believe this will be a fair competitor.
Type: Erudite
Description: Much like Spirited inviduals, Erudites possess a strong will and determination that gives them tremendous spiritual capabilities. However, these abilities come from vigorous study or at the cost of their physical well-being, leaving them less physically capable than their peers.
Advantage:
Rank 1: Select one Spiritual Stat to increase by 50% (100 would be 135). Increase the other Spiritual Stat by 25% (100 would be 125).
Rank 2: Select one Spiritual Stat to increase by 75% (100 would be 175). Increase the other Spiritual Stat by 50% (100 would be 150).
Rank 3: Select one Spiritual Stat to increase by 150% (100 would be 250). Increase the other Spiritual Stat by 75% (100 would be 175).
Rank 4: Select one Spiritual Stat to increase by 200% (100 would be 300). Double the other Spiritual Stat (100 would be 200).
Disadvantage:
Rank 1-2: Reduce Physical Stats by 50% (100 Strength and Speed would be 50). ES is forever locked at 0.
Rank 3-4: Reduce one Physical Stat by 75%, and the other by 50 % (100 Strength and Speed would be 25). ES is forever locked at 0.
Race Restrictions: All races except Failures, Beast-Clan, Akki, and Mod Souls
Initial Weapons: One Starting Weapon

So Mou, while I do like the idea of another spiritual type the biggest question I have is why would I use this over Spirited or an RS or SPPR Solider? If it's for raw power sure early on this is stronger than Spirited but at rank three spirited has a higher boost to the second stat and at rank four only the primary raised stat is stronger here with brave v2, but that is made up by the secondary spiritual stat in spirited being stronger than the secondary spiritual stat in brave v2. It's a case of having 1200 RS and 800 SPPR vs 1000 in both SPPR and RS. Using conversion you can make up the difference. Then you have to factor in the drawbacks, for both types for Spirited you take a hit to senses, instinct, ES and HE. We have seen that you can get away with just ok senses and instinct, ES is ignored by most and HE is a dump stat. For Brave v2 it's a cut to both physicals and ES locked at zero. The ES at zero isn't that big of a deal, however the investment one has to do to make up for the physical cuts is high vs what you get as a trade off.
For solider I'll be simple. Yes at higher levels Brave V2 is stronger than solider only slightly, however the drawbacks on solider are much lower and easier to manage.
Personally I don't see a reason why one would take this type over the other two, given they both do the same thing a bit better with less limitations.

You're right! That level 3 boost was too small. I have rectified that. But as for your other points, I have to disagree wholeheartedly. While you can try to argue that Solider is superior because its drawbacks are less severe, the simple fact of the matter is that Soldier only boosts one stat. The two types have different goals, and comparing the two isn't really a good comparison. As for Spirited, I think you're underestimating how much it hurts to take cuts to sensory stats. However, rather than simply talk about that, I've got a build for each type. Class 1, Rank 3 Power Tier Shini Captain with 1600 SP, with max SP in both SpPr and RS, as you have for your comparisons.
To make a long story short, you only have 100 less in one spiritual, and 100 less speed for what is very, very close to the same reaction time, and either 2000 more reiatsu, or 200 more Reiatsu Strength. This is so close to each other that it's essentially even. And this is with making the mistake of doing max investment on both Spirituals, which is completely and totally unneeded. In short, the types are even, you just have to build both of them different ways, *which is the point*.

Well, I looked this over, and I really don't think it makes sense to add this Type. I'll bring it up with the other mods, as well, but the Type is just way too close to Spirited anyway. You bring up a point about them having different goals, but those kinds of things are hardly required anymore. These pros and cons for each build are practically identical. The numbers are too similar for there to be much of a reason to add this kind of a Type.

I'm going to back the previous ruling on this and state that it's just a bit too close to Spirited. The only difference is that this is a +spirituals, -physicals instead of a +spirituals, -sensories. As this goal can be accomplished with a number of types - Soldier (+RS or SpPr, -Strength; you yourself said you don't need to max both spirituals), Cripple v1 (nullify arms; many casting abilities don't require them, allowing you to do +RS/+ES with no drawbacks besides reduced Release tiers), SSv1 (+RS, no cuts aside from out of Release, so a Release-focused spiritual builer can do this).
If we want to include other options with some sensory cuts but not all: Prodigy V2 (+RS, +ES, -Strength, -Instinct, -HE) Support (+RS, +Instinct (+Speed at high ranks), -Strength, -Senses)
Other options, but only at higher Ranks: Genius (+RS/SpPr, +ES, -Strength, -HE) Leader (+RS, +Instinct, -Strength, -Speed)
As a second ruling to the previous, I'm going to decline this Type. It brings nothing new to the table.
