My goal is to make a technique that pays homage to the canon version of Shunko whilst being a Kido/ Hakuda orientated, RS heavy technique as opposed to the HoHo variant that the Omnitskudo have. The numbers I've used are just placeholders I threw together as a very rough guide. This isn't meant to be a technique that anyone who joins the Kido Corps can attain, it's designed for people like Ranth who relies almost exclusively on hand to hand combat in conjunction with Kido due to his total lack of weapons and weapon skills and I hope I've set that barrier to entry at a reasonable level with the learning requirements. I welcome all feedback and criticism and look forward to working with whoever take this on.
Technique Name: Heaven's Gate
Class: [1]
Technique Type: [Hybrid]
Usable By: [Shinigami and Vizards]
Technique Element: [Fire/ Water/ Wind/ Lightning (See below for details)]
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect):
This technique was created by Ranth Amanite in order to compensate his lack of weapon mastery as well as lack of an actual weapon during his releases. Thus he sought a way to combine his prowess in Kido with his expertise in Hakuda to create the technique known as Heaven's Gate. Not all Kido practitioners share Ranth's particular fighting style and so this hybrid of Kido and Hakuda won't suit everyone, but for those who do it will serve as an integral part of their arsenal.
Heaven's Gate combines the technique and efficiency of Hakuda with the explosive and destructive power of Kido to create a technique that offers a power that neither could achieve alone. If you were to think of a person's reiatsu as a raw material that can be refined into either Hado, Bakudo or Healing, Heaven's Gate takes this raw material and forcibly ignites it within the users body. The immediate result of this is that the users body becomes engulfed in a torrential aura that consists of a single primal element, the specifics of which depend on the innate properties of that users reiatsu, which in turn is a reflection of who they are as a person (each user chooses an element when they learn the technique and it cannot be changed under any circumstances). For instance, one person might be attuned to ice, while another with fire and yet another with wind. This aura can inflict damage upon anything who come into contact with it in a similar fashion to how cutback works, except using RS instead of SpPr and extends roughly 1 foot from the users body.
By flooding their entire being with reiatsu and igniting it, the user will find that every fibre of their being feeds off this new energy source to function from their reflexes and eyesight to their ability to contract their muscles and process external and internal stimuli. The more potent the users Reiatsu Strength, the more marked the improvement in these various faculties as the person's Reiatsu strength triples. The users Reiatsu Strength then becomes the primary OS for all checks regardless of what any subsequent technique of their own or their opponents may state. Furthermore, the added benefit of having enormous amounts of ignited reiatsu flowing through ones body is that all kido techniques that are used require no incantation and the signs that would normally accompany the preparation for the techniques are absent, meanining anyone with Energy Sensory of 200 or less will be unable to predict the technique being used until it's actually been released. Finally, all kido spells used whilst in this form will have the elemental affinity of their Heaven's Gate aura added to the existing affinity of the kido technique in question. In exchange, healing techniques cannot be used due to the unstable nature of the ignited reiatsu being incompatible with the gentle, structured nature of healing techniques.
How to use technique (How is it activated?):
In order to use this technique, the user must channel an enormous amount of reiatsu throughout every fibre of their being, requiring acute self awareness and control of their own inner energy and then ignite all of it at once with precisely the same intensity throughout. Success will result in the telltale elemental aura and radical increase in power, whilst failure could result in anything from serious injury to death.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc)
Heaven's Gate is a technique that pushes the body well past its normal limits on multiple fronts and the most obvious side effect of this is that the users body takes damage merely from maintaining the form (elaborated upon above), with the potential for that damage to become even greater if the user pushes their body too far beyond it's normal limits. Mastering the technique does reduce the overall severity of these drawbacks, however even someone who has completely perfected the technique cannot use this technique flippantly, for the drawbacks are severe and against a powerful enemy, almost certainly fatal.
At the most basic level of mastery (Learned), using this technique will leave the user in a condition that would generally require hospitalisation. Virtually no part of the users body would be left without significant damage purely from the extreme stress this technique places upon them. Generally speaking, when the technique ends so does the fight because if the user didn't win, they're now completely at the mercy of their opponent (User loses consciousness when the technique ends and remains unconscious for at least 3 posts). Furthermore, whenever the user performs an action where any OS check is replaced by RS, that would normally refer to a physical stat, the user must pay 50 reiatsu for every 100 points of difference between the two. If they cannot, then they suffer severe physical drawbacks (broken bones, torn muscles etc). This cost must be paid if possible. (3 post duration)
At intermediate mastery (Proficient), the potential to carry on with a fight afterwards actually exists as the severity of the torn muscles and ligaments and fractured bones are less severe although the aftermath of the technique is still too much for the body to remain standing for. (Lose consciousness for at least 3 posts). Furthermore, whenever the user performs an action where any OS check is replaced by RS that would normally refer to a physical stat, the user must pay 50 reiatsu for every 150 points of difference between the two. If they cannot, then they suffer severe physical drawbacks (broken bones, torn muscles etc). This cost must be paid if possible. (5 post duration)
Fully mastering the technique (Mastered) is a double edged sword. On the one hand, increased control means that the technique inflicts less passive damage to its user due to greater ability to control the flow within themselves. On the other hand, since it can be maintained for longer, it means that the total accumulated damage can still easily be equal to or greater than what can occur at lower mastery levels (all stats reduced by 75% for 3 posts) Furthermore, whenever the user performs an action where any OS check is replaced by RS that would normally refer to a physical stat, the user must pay 50 reiatsu for every 200 points of difference between the two. If they cannot, then they suffer severe physical drawbacks (broken bones, torn muscles etc). This cost must be paid if possible. (7 post duration)
In order to even attempt to learn this technique, a dedicated training thread is required along with a minimum of [700] Reiatsu Strength is as well as Kido Mastery 4 and Hakuda Mastery 3. Lastly, the duration of this technique is limited to 3 posts per level of mastery of the technique (for a maximum of 9 posts at full mastery) Heaven's Gate cannot be fully mastered without possessing a 4 in both Kido and Hakuda.
