Thread Title: Confrontation of the Seated Officers

Location: An area far off from the safe haven known as the Seireitei. A strange area of luscious life. There are three main areas that grab ahold of ones attention however. The first of which is the fact that this is a massive swamp forest. However, it's water is not murky yet clear. This section of the forest is the largest spanning a full ten miles in radius. Inside of the forest though there are four identical stair cases that travel up the side of a hill in the center of the forest. This leads to the middle of the forest which reveals what appears to be a building that once belonged to Seireitei yet now lies in ruins. The building is completely destroyed with only one wall remaining. The area that once was covered by the building has regrown grass. The only other sign of the building having been there after so much time are the support beam bases that are little more than a few feet in height now.

Special Conditions:

1. Any other Seated Officer from divisions other than 2, 7 and 10 are allowed to join. Vice Captains are allowed while Captains are not. If you wish to join after this thread has started Speak to Asmoskon.

2. While in the forest while the water that covered the ground is beautiful and clear it does cause a potential problem. The water is three feet high from the ground meaning that maneuvering through it is difficult. This will cause the MOVEMEMT speed of all individuals in the water to decease by 30% of their total. This only effects the areas such as legs since they're in physical contact with the water.

3. There is a prize for the eventually winner of this large test of fire and steel. The only thing that is for certain is that it's something special and one of a kind. The winner isn't the only one that will receive a prize though. All participants that join, post and continue to the finish line will receive a prize that will be determined by Asmoskon and/or other Mods.

4. This one will have no effect on the battles of the participates however this test has been set up by a handful of Captains. The Captains came to an agreement to test the seated officers in their respective divisions. How each participate was chosen I can't say for I'm not every Captain. However, one thing is certain the edge of the forest is being constantly monitored if any participate should leave the forest more than a quarter mile of their OWN accord they will be disqualified and receive no prize. Also each Division has a set of eyes somehow inside of the forest. This will play no role to the participants however each Captain will either be directly watching or will hear of the events of this thread.

Circumstances: It seems that all of these seated officers have been ordered to go out of the Seireitei for an assignment. The assignment is to be the last Shinigami standing. This is a test of the seated officers. Straight forward and to the point do the best you can to be the last one standing and claim victory as the best seated officer. [Himitsu Kasumi'Oji]

Let There Be Sound!

Himitsu woke up to the sound of birds chirping. Rays of sunlight that broke through the green layer of leaves and tree branches above danced on his body, especially his eyelids, trying to lead him into the new day. Those bird songs were so pleasant, each little creature’s melody resonating with those of its neighbors, echoing beneath the forest canopy. Those birds made Himitsu want to wake up. Just a small part of him. The rest wanted to just go back to sleep and get away from the real world.

Although this time, the real world would be coming to him. Himitsu was lying in the forest not because he liked taking random naps in natural outdoor settings (although he certainly did), but because he was sent there by his glorious captain, Sozen Kuchiki. The hero of Soul Society. The Vizard Slayer. The man who took down Jinbei Kawada. The man who was intoxicated by his own power. The man who hid his sister away despite the danger she posed either because he was more loyal to his family than the innocent souls who died by her hand or because of he hoped to benefit from her unique ability at some point in the future.

Himitsu heard stories about how manipulative and clever Sozen was, but now he had to face that reality instead of dismiss it like he had before. He had to go back to his job and his life and deal with all the corruption and impurity in the Gotei 13. He had to fill out his paperwork while monsters like Kuroi Nato ran loose. He had to go back at some point, but he was far happier sleeping in some random forest while waiting for some other shinigami that he was supposed to battle.

It was so stupid. Himitsu had been a member of Squad 10 at some point, so he clearly enjoyed fighting. This time, however, the premise of the battle was idiotic. ‘Which squad was the strongest? Which had the most powerful seated officer?’ If Himitsu had to decide which squad was the best, his immediate choice would be squad 4. They did their job. They cared only for healing those brought to them. The rest of the Shinigami, for the most part, were meant to protect, but the collective objective most of his peers had were selfish. Sozen just another egotistical shinigami.

And some more egotistical shinigami were probably making their way to the forest for Himitsu to fight, so the giant of a soul reaper got to his feet and stretched his body, hitting his full height of 6’8” plus the length of his extended arm above him. His zanpakuto hung from his hip just like most shinigami, but unlike most shinigami, Himitsu’s Shihakusho was black and blue, not black and white. It was a small detail that made him stand out (just as his height did), but it was one he took pleasure in. He didn’t blend in with with crowd. He was his own man. He was special. He wasn’t just another shinigami.

GOOOOOOD MOOOOOOOOOORRRRNNNING!!!! shouted a masculine, jubilant voice inside the Vice Captain’s head. Morning Flex, Himitsu responded to his energetic zanpakuto spirit. They’re coming, Himitsu! Teach those punk officers what a real man is like! Fight them like a MAN! Flex never grew tired of reminding Himitsu to embrace his manliness in the most cliché ways possible. Fist fighting was Flex’s favorite, but Himitsu was far too weak and clumsy for hand-to-hand battles. A man fights for something that matters, Flex… If they’re fighting for the wrong reasons, I’ll be sure to show them what it takes to really be a man.

[Tsukuyomi Kawada]

It seemed that time was fast approaching now as Tsukuyomi the new member of the Kawada family reached the end of his morning meditation. It was something that his Captain had suggested to him a short time ago. To every morning practice the art of meditation while also linking oneself to the zanpakuto through Jinzen. Tsukuyomi at first had thought that there must have been a reason, but regardless of that there would always be something better to do in order to get better.

He was one that had to continue getting more experience, more power and more knowledge for his life depended on it. So after trying it out a few days ago Tsukuyomi had found that after speaking with his zanpakuto who in the rare event shared his own name he felt much more relaxed. For one reason or another doing this made training easier and everything seemed to come to him faster than it had prior. It was rejuvenating to experience it and now it was becoming something that he didn't have to think about in order to do.

At the moment he was sitting in the garden of the Kawada manor with his legs crossed and his zanpakuto placed over his knees. His hands were linked together on the blade as his mind was deep within his soul. There he was with the white haired warrior of the moon. The beauty that was his zanpakuto was something of a mystery. He didn't know why it was a female nor if it even resembled his mother. All he knew was what was in front of him and that she was more powerful than himself.

Spinning the crescent sword throughout his hands over and over again while she mirrored him. No that wasn't right that's how he'd like to think of it, but in fact it was the opposite. She was instructing him on methods by which he could wield her against his foes. He was a trained swordsman and yet there was no better teacher than his own zanpakuto. As she increased in speed he struggled to keep up she was exceeding his capabilities now and he had to stop.

"You're getting there it's only a matter of time now. You've gotten your morning started. Be off with you now if you need me I'll be waiting." In the next moment Tsukuyomi opened his eyes and could see the sun had risen above the horizon. It was time for him to make his way out of the Seireitei. His Captain the Wolf Queen of the Seireitei had given him the esteemed honor of representing Division Seven in a battle between a single seated officer of every division. So with that he made his way to the meeting area ready to eliminate all his competition.

[Amagai Kuchiki]

"A battle between seated officers? To what end?" Amagai hated fighting without a purpose, he avoided it at all costs. He was a pacifist at heart, especially after the atrocities that he had seen, that he had participated in, during the war. Unfortunately, he and the Captain Commander, his Captain, failed to see eye to eye on that front. When Amagai had asked him that, the large man stared the Kuchiki dead in the eye: "To find your limits."

And so, Amagai now found himself in a lovely forested area, awaiting the fight. He'd come to this lovely spot, outside of the Gotei 13 to represent his Division, even if he wasn't doing so willingly. He had come alone, unfortunately, as his Captain was a bit too important to bother attending this show down. He had hoped that at least he would have seen his father, Sozen Kuchiki, there when he had been deployed, but he was instructed to go directly to the battleground itself, rather than socialize nearby it.

And so, he was here. Simply. Waxing poetic about the journey coming here, talking about the beauty that surrounded him, all of that seemed pointless. Once the fighting and violence started, all those wonderful details would melt away, like tears in the rain, so caring about them now seemed empty, almost. Instead, Amagai leaned back under the shade of a tree, closed his eyes, took a deep breath, then opened them and drew his sword, adopting a serious stance, even without visible foes.

He would win this, and he would prove that he was a leader. And with that leadership, he would save everyone.

[Yetsuna Yishnir]

Sweat reflected off of the green haired shinigami's body as she made her way through her morning training, each move she made caused several drops to fall of her and to large wet area on the ground. Recently Yetsuna found herself rededicated to her training, more so than she probably had been at any point in her life, she wanted to grow, she needed to grow. She leaned her bareback up against the wall while she took a moment to collect her breath.

As she almost always did she found herself looking down at the blade in her hand, "Find a goal in your aimless life an commit to it," her zanpaktou's voice echoed through her head. Not too long ago those words had driven her to a breaking point, literally threatening to destroy who she was, and if not for the intervention of a particular vice captain, might have lead her to make the choice she would ever make.

That vice captain had pulled her back from the brink of despair and instilled in her a simple realization: She had power. Yetsuna had never taken the time to appreciate the fact that  she had access to abilities and strengths that only small numbers of people could use. That simple epiphany gave her enough footing, at least for now, to continue on. She would continue to fight, to live, because she could do so.

She began to pull herself back from her own thoughts, she didn't like letting her mind wander on what had occurred lest she risk history repeating itself. As she pushed herself off of the wall a hell butterfly made its way out of the sky and towards her, "Where am I going this time?" she pondered to herself. She held out a curled left hand for the butterfly to land on so that it could relay its message.

It seemed the captains had decided to throw together some kind of tournament for their seated officers, and she had been selected to represent division 11. All participates were to gather in at a specified point in the wilderness for the free for all battle. She heard no mention of a start time or gather point so her guess was that they were supposed to hunt each other, not something that she was adept at, but she'd find a way to make it work.

She pulled the top of her uniform up and slide her arms through the holes and departed for the battle ground, ready for a fight.

[Tsukuyomi Kawada]

Moving throughout the dark forest wasn't something that Tsukuyomi would deem all that easy. There was a large amount of water in the forest and as an individual that fought through the use of speed almost exclusively in order to make his method of wielding a blade more effective it wasn't something that gave him confidence. It seemed that right from the start after entering into the battle field he was at a disadvantage. Training with his zanpakuto prior to this might not have been the best idea.

She had made it painfully obvious that he didn't have what it took to even keep up with her. If there were other seated officers in this forest which he knew there were then there was a high possibility that these other individuals had earned the respect of their spirits. Tsukuyomi throughout all his training at the hands of his Captain and the other seated officers hadn't been able to gain the respect of Mikoto. She was a harsh teacher and an individual that didn't accept failure something that Tsukuyomi was more than familiar at achieving.

While it was true that he wasn't a typical Shinigami or even a Shinigami at all. He wasn't weak by the standard measure of Shinigami. In the short amount of time that he had been taught how to control the reiatsu that flowed through him even as a young boy he had been able to advance in no time to a high position of authority. Some told him that he was blessed with natural talent and others hated him for it while others felt he would one day bring a good deal of value to Soul Society.

None of that mattered though what really mattered was the fact that he never seemed strong enough. He was always trying to protect Vesta when the two of them were together and the majority of the time he didn't get to see her often due to injuries that he would suffer. Not from her, but from the ever present Hollows that would seek them both out for whatever reason. He could protect her, but not without injuring himself something that Mikoto had made clear she hated about him. He was weak and constantly getting weaker.

He had spoken to her a few weeks ago and it had come up for the first time that she felt this way about him. That while at first he had been a acceptable wielder who was clam and collected. One that looked over the battle field and saw only opportunity to engage in battle and defeat those that would stand against his way of life. He now had been beaten so many times that he bent his knee to anymore more powerful than himself. Kneeling at the feet of his Captain like one of her mutts.

Tsukuyomi had a great amount of respect for his Captain and had spoken out against such an insult and only received further insult and hate. She had made it clear that while he was placed high in the Division it was only for show. He had no real power and no longer had the calm determination and drive to kill without hesitation. His mind had been clouded with thoughts of protecting another and obeying the words of someone else as if they were law. When in truth all of these things were just another set of chains to bide him from his potential.

He had been given the chance to go to the human world last week and at first he was excited at the prospect of spending some time with Vesta. However, as he prepared to leave he got an eerie feeling in the pit of his stomach. It wasn't something he had ever felt before and somehow Mikoto had actually pulled him into his inner world. HE hadn't ever heard of a spirit commanding the Shinigami. The silver haired warrior of the moon made it perfectly clear that from that moment onwards he wouldn't be able to call on her anymore.

He could cling to his Captain and his girlfriend for protection and insight on himself, but she would no longer speak to him or help him. He had no choice, but to argue and try to gain control of the situation neither of which was possible though. She was right he had changed into a dog that lost all its bite and he couldn't even make Mikoto's crescent form appear in his hands anymore. He had thought over it all for the remainder of the day. Hating himself for missing out of one of the few chances to see Vesta, but also at the fact that he allowed something like this to happen.

He knew the dangers that he was facing as a half demon. A creature that by all rights wouldn't be allowed in the Gotei Thirteen. If it wasn't for his Captain's personality he could have been executed already after what had happened with the Shinigami from division two with the dark short hair. No he had to regain his edge and earn back Mikoto that was the only way that he could progress. He had to regain what he had lost in order to move forward and gain more.

So while he had been able to get Mikoto to speak to him and train him again she easily enough figured out that he was using her. She made it perfectly clear that she would allow him to use her yet only if he kept to his wisdom and allowed himself to be free of earthly attachments. It was an argument that lasted long and yet Tsukuyomi had gained a fair amount back from her after being left with virtually nothing. He could see Vesta however only after gaining Mikoto's approval of his strength.

As of yet that time hadn't come and he hadn't earned it. Mikoto wasn't the only spirit he had though and she likely wouldn't be enough to gain victory against the other seated officers in this forest. Honshitsu was far more accepting and had been helping him as much as Mikoto to regain his cold exterior. While he was still loyal to his Captain much to Mikoto's Honshitsu dismay found it cute. So now as he made his way through the water he had to find his determination to claim victory.

Inhaling deeply Tsukuyomi placed his resting right hand on the pommel of his wakashi. The small thin blade was Honshitsu and while he had been training and learning to use her small form effectively it was still so odd to have her by his side along with Mikoto the vastly more intimidating behemoth of a katana. Holding Mikoto with his left hand Tsukuyomi realized there was a better way to get around it this forest. Tossing Mikoto upwards the long katana looped around a tree branch.

After a few moments Tsukuyomi found himself up in the tree climbing to the best of his abilities. He wasn't strong compared to most other Shinigami, but he was agile and knew how to more in awkward ways. So getting around the branches and using them to his advantage was easily enough achieved. After all that he came to the decision that using the trees to get around the forest would aid him vastly. The water slowed him down to much for him to be effective. He didn't believe that he was stronger than all of the others in this forest and accepting that and using it to guide his strategy he believed was the first step to being the last one standing.

So Tsukuyomi started to jump from tree branch to tree branch from one tree to the next. He wasn't as quiet as he once was since well he didn't practice stealth all that much anymore. Right now it was something he was regretting a pretty good amount seeing as though it'd be invaluable to sneak up on another seated officer and have the confidence of not being found or heard by them. Tsukuyomi though wasn't making that much noise either something he didn't know since everything he caused he was altered to due to his anxiousness.

In truth Tsukuyomi is very light and small for his age and while being very acrobatic and knowing where to place himself so that none of the branches would break from his suddenly weight the branches didn't make all that much noise. That'd drop and make noise as if wind had just brushed them, but beyond that nothing gave him away unless someone was looking up about fifteen feet from the surface of the water.

After roughly ten to twenty minutes since the start of this examination Tsukuyomi heard the sound of water being displaced by movement below. So he stopped moving and crouched low to the branch extending his hands out and his legs back so that his visibility got smaller and his weight was distributed more over the branch. He'd have a better grip and make it so he was less likely to be seen as the individual past him by and he gathered information.

The individual that came into view was massive one of the tallest people Tsukuyomi had ever seen in his life. The only other individual he had ever seen that was this tall was Ruko the betrothed of his Captain and Sixth seated officer of Division Seven. Ruko was a monster when it came to physical combat and in truth Tsukuyomi had the feeling that he was stronger than his ranking gave him credit. So going off all of that this individual who seemed to match Ruko's size must be a specialist of close combat like his Captain and Ruko.

That meant it'd be best to eliminate him swiftly from a distance or else Tsukuyomi could have a serious problem. He would wait until the seated officer who's hair was a brown as mud started to pass under him below the tree and roughly six feet to his right. He stayed perfectly still giving away nothing to his position yet if the giant turned his way Tsukuyomi knew there'd be little chance he wouldn't be seen. As he past though Tsukuyomi slowly moved his arms and legs inwards lifting his mid section up from the branch.

It was after a few moments that he grabbed ahold of Honshitsu's hilt and began to draw her slowly making hardly any noise from her sheath. He had one chance to injury this guy enough that victory even in close combat would be possible. He couldn't waste such a chance and risk facing him later. So he calmed himself and wrapped his legs around the branch. In the following moments he allowed himself to swing downwards upside down holding himself that way with his legs. He would then aim and throw Honshitsu to the best of his abilities executing Suisei so that Honshitsu would soar towards the Shinigami at a much faster pace and with much more force than Tsukuyomi would normally be able to manage.

His small wakashi would move through the air between himself and the massive Shinigami at a speed of 475. He had gotten better at using Suisei yet it still wasn't anything compared to what he had seen Shokan achieve. For now though it was all he could manage. His aim was true even if his confidence wasn't. The zanpakuto wasn't positioned to strike a fatal blow for this wasn't a battle to the death. Instead the small thin wakashi was posed to pierce through the back of the massive Shinigami's right thigh. The force would be enough to make the blade slice through his flesh completely and more then likely come out the other side. Tsukuyomi would have to wait though and find out why this other seated officer's Captain had chosen him.

[Kisala Shihoin]

Kisala Shihoin had been summoned to Captain Harle's office. She was in the middle of training by herself when her a hell butterfly flew at her nearly causing Kisala to hit a poor passerby with a throwing knife. She dropped everything she had and rushed to her captains office for her orders. Captain Harle gave her orders to go into the forest. She wasn't really specific on why she wanted her to do it, only saying something along the lines of, in order  to better herself she should train and fight with the other seated officers of the other squads. Kisala was not too sure about the whole thing, but she would trust her captain no matter what. 

Kisala took enough time to recover from her previous training and loosen up for whatever she would find in the forest. As she approuched the thick forest, Kisala tried to rationalize why her captain wouldn't tell her everything right away. She thought, maybe it was part of her training. Maybe she was trying to teach the young Shihoin how to gather intelligence better while on a mission. That sounded more reasonable than most of the other suggestions that she came up with. Her bubbly Zanpakuto spirit, Hariken was rearing to go. Childishly urging Kisala to hurry up and get into the forest and see what is going on. This only made Kisala chuckle. 

She paused only for a moment before entering the forest. She was a member of squad two, she wanted to try and use normal methods to try and gather infomation and see who else in in the forest. She suppressed her reiatsu as much as possible, and used her stealth skills to maneuver quietly among the trees. She wanted to stay out of sight for the most part. She thought that she heard other shinigami spread rumors of a fight happening here. If that was the case, then remaining hidden would be the best thing for her at the moment. She would like to face her opponents head on, but she also needed to learn patience, and let the other officers fight it among themselves first then swoop in for the victory.

That sounded like a good plan. Something that her captain would surely commend her for. Harle was like a mother Kisala never knew. Yes she was captain first, but she never really had any other woman to look up to besides her sister, and even she was not around much being a captain now. It was lonely. She didn't really mesh well with the other members of squad two. Most of them were very quiet folk preferring to keep to themselves. Kisala was more rambunctious and in your face in comparison. Sometimes Kisala wondered if she should just transfer out of squad two, maybe make everyone more comfortable. She stopped looking to the ground. 

She never really wanted this position. Well she did of course, but she knew that she wasn't ready for it. Compared to other vice captains, she was vastly inexperienced and young. She was pushed into the position with the casualties of the war against the quincies. Kisala had to shake those thoughts out of her head. She needed to remain focused. It didn't matter if she wanted to be in the position or not. She needed to show her captain, and everyone else that she was able to hold her own as a vice captain and be the vice captain that squad two, and captain Harle needed her to be. She darted into the heavy cover of leaves moving silently while using her senses to sniff out her prey.

[Himitsu Kasumi'Oji]

As Himitsu walked around aimlessly through the forest, he kept his eyes peeled. After all, an enemy could literally be anywhere. He could be taken out in a second if an assassin from Squad 2 or the Omnistukido, two divisions that were known for their members’ abilities to remain unseen, targeted him, using the trees and shadows to hide themselves. Himitsu wouldn’t stand a chance if that was the case. In fact, if the Omnistukido Vice Captain, Aevus, were present, it would be funny to even try to beat him in an arena so perfectly tailored to his skillset. But Himitsu was assigned to this “mission,” so he at least had to try to represent his division as well as he could.

The Lieutenant both heard movement through the forrest and saw it almost simultaneously. After all, he had the same level of senses as a wild animal, but far more intelligence. Therefore, picking up the unusual sound of a step and rough rustling of leaves wasn’t too difficult. However, his ears didn’t tell him where the possible enemy was. His eyes took care of that task. He saw a shadow moving through the treetops towards the top left of his vision. It wasn’t until the shadow heard and noticed his own movement through the shallow water, barely reaching his ankles, that it stopped, perched in the trees directly ahead of Himitsu.

And now, the Squad 6 Lieutenant was faced with a choice. He could either reveal that he was aware of the small man’s presence, which wasn’t too hard to pick up on considering his lack of skill in stealth and the fact that the stranger was in the treetops ahead of Himitsu. Or he could keep up the charade. Himitsu chose the latter, hoping to bait the enemy into making a foolish attack. He kept his gaze level so that he could watch the still shadow at the top and peripherals of his vision without focusing on him directly. Just to make sure Himitsu was never completely blind to the figure, he made sure to stay on a straight path to avoid walking under the shadow, instead ending up a few feet to its right.

When Himitsu drew close, he heard another rustle in the trees. It was movement, the figure was preparing to attack, and Himitsu was ready as well. But he kept walking casually, not taking action yet. Even when he heard the muffled sound of a blade being drawn, a sound he only heard because he was listening for it, he waited patiently. It wasn’t time yet. But when he heard something pull the branch down abruptly, rustling its leaves, he began to make his move. Tsukuyomi couldn’t expect to move so quietly when he was so close to Himitsu, and hanging from the branch made an obvious noise. Tsukuyomi’s weapon was already drawn, but Himitsu didn’t react until he heard another noise, indicating that the real attack was coming.

Just as he looked up to his left, where Tsukuyomi was hiding, he’d see the wakashi speeding towards him in the air. But that was no matter, for his target was right behind the flying weapon. Himitsu simply used Hado #1: Sho just as the blade nearly hit his face to send it shooting back the way it came, this time with a speed of 800. Until the weapon was actually deflected, Tsukuyomi wouldn’t even be able to anticipate the counter. After all, Himitsu didn’t move a muscle before casting the simple spell. His skill in Kido was unparalleled amongst any Shinigami except for those in the Kido Corps, so he could cast abilities as basic as Sho from any part of his body, his head in this case.

But Tsukuyomi would find himself in a dilemma. After all, he was hanging by his legs from a tree branch as a blade – his own blade – sped toward him at a speed nearly twice the speed with which he threw it. And because he was hanging by his legs, he wouldn’t be fast enough to fall and evade the projectile or pull himself up to dodge the sword. It seemed that he was trapped, and unless he had a trick up his sleeve to get him to safety, his own zanpakuto would plunge into his abdomen, crippling him for the rest of the fight.

Yetsuna made her way through the wilderness as best as she could trying to find the designated combat area, until she finally found herself wading in water, she found the place. It was a nice view, the water she stood in, other than the ripples she had caused, was still and crystal clear with tree both large and small growing out of it. There didn't really seem to be much wildlife in the area, but that was probably a good thing; wildlife in the wilderness was normally hollows or the more uncivilized beast clans.

She took out her blade out from across her back and leaned it on her shoulder while she held it while she pondered her next move. Ten miles was a large area for 12 people, if that, and she wasn't very adept at tracking things physically, so her best bet was to try and hone in on someones reaitsu. She closed her eyes to focus for a few moments while she tried to find someone close by that wasn't engaged in battle yet, there was no rule saying the fights had to be one on one, but she had a self imposed one.

After about a half minute or so she caught the scent of another shinigami's who didn't seem to be doing anything just yet, what's more he was about as strong as a vice captain. "Should have guessed someone would send their vice captain," she laughed to herself, probably a bit more confident about the situation then she should have been. With a bearing set she began to make her way towards her selected opponent.

The water lengthened the time of her trip more than would have guessed, originally when she had just entered the area it was just a small annoyance, but as she made her way deeper into the swamp the water got deeper and it actually became an active obstacle, and something she would have to be wary of in a fight. Eventually she finally caught up the the other shinigami from behind and when she was a respectable distance she got his attention with cheery "Hi there."

When he turned around Yetsuna would recognize him, even though they hadn't met before. Vice captains, like captains, were few in number so almost everyone knew who they were, and it seemed she had struck gold with her opponent, not only was he a vice captain, but her was a noble to boot. She had the fortune to find Amagai Kuchiki as her opponent, but his name was all she knew really about him. Whether or not he knew her was up for debate, but regardless when he turned to look her her hes find a beautiful woman smiling at him, with a blade on her shoulder.

It wouldn't be too hard to guess at what her end game was, it was simple to tell she wasn't in a rush to begin they had plenty of time to fight, though she was more then ready to go if he was. "Nice day in a nice place isn't it?" she asked Amagai, the confidence in her voice would be fairly for himt to pick up if he was paying any sort of attention, though the exact implications of it would be for him to work out.

He had chosen not to leave the shade of the tree, letting his foes come to him rather than hunting them down himself. It didn't seem wise to waste his energy finding people to fight, especially given that he didn't want to be here, and didn't want to have to hurt anyone. And yet, here he was, sword drawn, with the knowledge that if he had to, he would crush anyone who tried to injure him. Self-defense was a terrible excuse for violence, but it was the only one he had, and he knew that violence itself was inevitable.

In the distance, he heard and felt reiatsu signatures flaring, and knew that someone had found a target. How quickly this was all devolving. He shuddered slightly, uncontrollably, and resisted the urge to bolt in that direction, and help whoever needed it. No, he knew that the Captains, certainly watching, wouldn't let anyone get too injured. He wasn't needed. Or was he? Could he trust the Captains to really give a hoot about the lives of their subordinates? After all, this was a question of natural selection and survival of the fittest.

He did his best to rid himself of the obtrusive thoughts, and refocused just in time for the arrival of an opponent. From behind him, in the direction of the swamp, a beautiful voice. He turned, and sheathed his sword, an odd move given the approaching enemy. "Hello there to you too, Yetsuna Yishnir, Fourth Seat of the Eleventh Division." He smiled, a warm friendly smile, and one that felt entirely honest. Amagai was happy to see her, as he would've been happy to see just about anyone.

Since Amagai was Vice Captain of the First division, it was his job to deal with a crap ton of administrative work. Reviewing mission details, dealing with salaries, and so forth. As a result, he knew everyone of importance. That, and the fact that a wall of his office was literally covered in pictures of Captains, Vice Captains, and their seated officers, neatly organized, with names below every picture. He made it his goal to be able to recognize someone, and instantly rattle off their name and rank. It made things more friendly.

"It really is a beautiful day here. Birds are singing, flowers are blooming. So what's a pretty girl like you doing here? Because, you know, on days like this, in places like this," A smile flickered accross his face, one a little bit more....twisted. It was an act, of course, Amagai took no pleasure in this, but the acting itself was fun, and the intimidation property was important, "People end up burning like bonfires." His hand instantly was wreathed in flames. He wouldn't make the first move, but he'd pressure her into doing so.

[Yetsuna Yishnir]

Yetsuna chuckled at the man's attempt to try an intimidate her, it was going to take more than a twisted smile and a magic trick to mess with her head. "You're telling me, ten minutes in the sun and a turn as red as a lobster. I'm so glad they picked an area with plenty of shade," she said with a tone that was fairly flirty. "Maybe you'd like to go for a swim to cool off? You do look like you're a little toasty," she said nodding towards his hand which was on fire.

Yetsuna didn't know what he had done to cause the fire to materialize, but considering he hadn't used a call out phrase it was likely a kido, mentally cast, she'd have to watch for that. She took a few lackadaisical steps around him, letting her sword fall off her shoulder and skim along the ground, more a ploy of being lazy then trying to be intimidating. "I don't have a swimsuit though...." she trailed off deciding to let him finish the thought in his own mind. 

Assuming the man before her wasn't gay chances were he had more than likely noticed her natural curves, more so considering that he was looking at her side. As far as females went Yetsuna was fairly well gifted in the chest region and had a decent sized rear to go with it, add on her athletic figure she was a natural head turner. She didn't really have any intents to seduce Amagai though and was using her good looks to just get a laugh.

The female shinigami, despite her seemingly uncaring nature at the moment, wasn't unaware of her position. She knew that he could easily attack her at any moment, and she was ready for him to do so, even though, based on his actions so far, that seemed unlikely. She wanted to see how long she could drag out this little game of theirs, it was rare she got to use her good looks to play with an opponent.

[Tsukuyomi Kawada]

Hanging upside down by his legs was something that Tsukuyomi hadn't done all that much so at the moment seeing everything in the opposite way was only working due to his experience with being blind. He had been training with his Captain enough that his skills in keeping his body in strange positions was good enough that his legs weren't suffering any real effect from the position other than getting slightly tired from holding up his meager body weight. It seems that being small for his age was actually a bonus for once.

He watched as Honshitsu's seal wakashi form traveled through the space between himself and this other Shinigami. He hadn't been able to make him out all that clearly until at this moment. He had mistakenly chosen to attack a very powerful Vice Captain that had been involved in one of the major battles that occurred in Soul Society over the last few months. Tsukuyomi worked as the third seat of the Seventh Division so having knowledge of potential threats against Soul Society was something that he was accustomed to reading up on. His Captain while she had faith in Soul Society didn't practice the faith to the point that she'd allow her division to be ill prepared. So all of the seated officers not just himself had been given orders to review all of the divisions Captains and Vice Captains at a minimum.

These were the individuals that if they went rogue could potential cause a grand deal of problems and generate a high threat level to Soul Society. Tsukuyomi now that he could see the face of the Shinigami recognized him as the Vice Captain of division six, Himitsu Misute. As he saw his face though Tsukuyomi's own eyes met the eyes of the Vice Captain. This was bad he had been spotted it seemed that his skills as an assassin had faded away after all. The profile on Himitsu had included information in regards to the Shinigami's favorable skills as a kido master. It stated that he was one of the most proficient users in all of Soul Society.

Tsukuyomi's eyes widened in shock and in that moment his instincts kicked into high gear. The small boy would instantly vanish as would his zanpakuto with him. Tsukuyomi was a proficient user of shunpo having skill in the usage of it that many Shinigami seemed to forgo. It was due to his skill and training in the art of utilizing his step technique that he was able to execute the technique through his hands. He had loosened his legs allowing his body to fall and yet it never did as he moved himself away from the tree with his left hand pressed against the three branch that he had been hanging from.

As that happened he had focused his reiatsu into his left hand and utilized Shouwakusei causing his zanpakuto to move at an accelerated pace fast enough that the blade itself seemed to just vanish from the air as well. Using both of them at the same time was going to drain a decent amount of his stamina, but Tsukuyomi at the moment wasn't thinking he wasn't consciously in control of himself. His instincts had kicked in and this time the instinct to fight hadn't been the dominate one. He knew how powerful some of the Vice Captains were and just being near that man was enough that Tsukuyomi had to get his distance. By himself this early on he had no chance of defeating him all he would do is sign his defeat from the get go.

Tsukuyomi would reappear in the water roughly a mile away to the west of where he had been. The water splashed around his feet as he landed in it and he saw the reflection of himself in the clear water. "Damn it!" Tsukuyomi couldn't believe what was going on he had been chosen to show the strength of the seventh division and he was so afraid that he couldn't even stand and be defeated with honor. His Captain had to be ashamed of him right now for running. He had to find someone else though someone else that he had a chance of defeating so that he had some praise to counter the infamy that was awaiting him upon his return to the barracks.

However, at the thought of that his hands started to tremble in fear of the possibility. Not of returning to his barracks being beaten up by his Captain was a normal occurrence for him and the majority of the division. He was afraid of what else was in this forest. What had his Captain been thinking sending him in here? If Himitsu Mitsue was in the forest then it was possible that all the of divisions had sent in their Vice Captains. Tsukuyomi had no chance of victory at all not even a single victory if that was the case. The Vice Captains were monsters in their own right Shinigami that could only ever be second to Captains. Strong enough that some of them achieved bankai and could battle and defeat even the likes of the Espada.

Amagai Kuchiki of Division one. Kisala Shihoin of Division 2. Souza Kuchiki of Division 13. Taien Hadohou of the Kido Corps. Any of them could be in the forest along with members of the other Divisions that Tsukuyomi hadn't thought of that could be around his own strength if not stronger without being a Vice Captain. Why had his Captain thrown him in here to do battle against these monsters? She could have just thrown her own monster at the rest. Tsukuyomi had watched the battle between the Captain and the Vice Captain Kaen Youji. The Vice Captain was almost as scary as the Captain and a Monster in all regards when it came to combat. So why had he been chosen?

"God damn it!" Tsukuyomi screamed as he tried to figure it out to no avail. He'd disappear again executing shunpo from the place that he was standing the moment that he screamed in frustration. At the moment he was confused and afraid and neither of those looked good for his division or his chances of victory or even survival. He'd have to calm down and try to find another foe. At the moment he just didn't have what it would take to bring down someone even near his level of skill. So he would retreat moving through the forest hopping from the large roots of the trees that broke through the surface of the water as fast he could. It would take some time, but after a few minutes he'd realize that the elevation of the forest floor was going up and there seemed to be a hill in front of him.

Amagai cocked his head. This was an....unusual circumstance. She was doing the disarmingly charming thing. Amagai had been around nobles to recognize that tactic, but this wasn't usually the type of set up where that script would be used. In fact, it seemed odd to him for a handful of reasons, which he quickly outlined for her. "Miss, I'm sorry, but is this really the time for this? We're in a serious fight, under orders from superior officers to hurt each other in very serious ways."

"That, and you're at least two decades my senior. And a little too....femine for my tastes." A beat. "Sorry, I should be clear. My Kido usage and release aren't the only things that cause me to be described as flaming. I bat for the other team. I'm a friend of Dorothy. I am, you know." He waved his burning hand. "Gay? You're obviously attractive, and I'm sure that this seduction thing would work well against most of the other people in this battle but uh...."

He shrugged. "Sorry." A gesture, and suddenly, a blast of flame erupted from his hand, a gout of fire that quickly broke into a barrage of seven flaming shuriken. He immediately would start moving backwards, establishin distance between Yetsuna and himself, focusing on taking her down via nickel and diming rather than via an overwhelming display of force. After all, the fight had just begun. He needed to pace himself if he was going to win this one, and still manage to deal with the others as well.

As the vice captain spoke Yetsuna's expression would take on a pouty appearance as he proceeded to ruin her fun by explaining that he was homosexual. She couldn't have cared in the slightest about which sex he chased, she went after both of them herself, but she was disappointed that she wouldn't get to mess with him. After he had finished his (overly long) explanation of his sexual preference he rendered her an apology and then gestured unleashing a wave of fire at her.

The wave of fire solidified to form several shurikin like projectiles, which further increased her suspicion that he was using some form of kido. The green haired woman wasn't so foolish that she left her guard down and was amply prepared to react so as the fire closed in on her she used a shunpo to step around them, placing herself behind them. "If you were in such a rush to start all you had to do was say so, I would have been more than happy to oblige," she quipped as she threw her sheathed blade into the ground with it disappearing like she had thrown it into water. "Sunder."

After a short pause the ground round her erupted violently, engulfing her whole person, before compressing around her and then crumbling away to reveal her released shikai, "Ishio." Black armor now encased the woman, covering everything but her head in plated metal, though the presence of a weapon, such as a sword, would be easily noticed. She adopted an unarmed fighters stance, "Now, Let's have some fun shall we?" she asked in a oddly warm tone of voice, like she was more ready to party than fight.
