The Destined Reunion (Tsuki/Vesta, JTT)

[Tsukuyomi Kawada]

Tsukuyomi had just cut the arm of the hollow clean off by releasing into shikai and then smashing the body of the hollow to pieces with his white moons. After which he knew what needed to be done and he eliminated the body of the slow dying hollow that Zorn had defeated. It seemed that these hollows by themselves weren't actually all that powerful. Tsukuyomi even if he wouldn't admit it was hoping for some type of challenge and yet so far hadn't experienced that in the least.

Now moving to the top of the high school by focusing his reiatsu at the bottom of his feet he was able to jump off of the air. Making air grounds as he jumped up through the air only to then leap once again to higher heights as fast as he could. It took him a few moments to actually reach the top of the high school room by while he was doing so he could hear the sound of Vesta and Zorn following behind him. It would be better for them to stay by him and if these next three were significantly more powerful than the first two it would be better for all of them to stay together anyway.

Now as his feet touched onto the surface of the high school roof and Zorn a moment later landed on the same roof with Vesta on his back Tsukuyomi stood straight up and looked at the three hollows. They were all standing on air ground about fifteen feet above them looking down. He was having problems making out what they actually looked like when one of them seemed to vanish. In the next moment he turned around raising his zanpakuto only to have a bladed arm smash into it and send him flying off his feet.

Tsukuyomi was sent flying through the air off the surface of the school roof for a moment as he then hit the chain fence of the roof. Tsukuyomi felt the impact against eh fence and knew that it was actually something bad. His right arm had suffered some danger from blocking the hit as his wrist now hurt. However, he did manage to see that the hollow looked insect in some way and had blades for arms. The problem was that the hollow wasn't in sight anymore. In the next moment it would appear behind Vesta and slash at her back.

(The hollow is appearing at a speed of 2,000 and attacking Vesta's back at a speed of 250 with a force of 300.)

Zorn and Vesta both kept their eyes open, looking at the three hollows that were left. It was interesting, standing with Tsukiyomi now that it had been two years. She had changed and Tsukiyomi had changed as well, but honestly, not as much as she thought he would. He had gained his sight, but it didn't change the boy he was or the man he was starting to become.

It made Vesta smile, knowing that she knew him before his sight and before his life got so busy. Zorn, on the other hand, was made super aware of his surroundings, knowing that Vesta was daydreaming slightly. It was one thing about her that he didn't like and something she did fairly often. It was then that Zorn had noticed that one of the hollows started to move. He bumped Vesta in the side slightly, getting her attention.

She noticed the movement too, watching the movement of the hollow as he started to attack Tsukiyomi. She let go of Zorn, taking a step off to the side, letting Zorn have room to attack the hollow. She watched as Tsukiyomki was able to fight the hollow, but it seemed that he might've gotten injured. She took a few steps forward and noticed that the hollow had swords for hands and arms, making it deadly in close range.

Because of their link, Zorn now knew this as well and made a note to not be touched by it. Once he threw Tsukiyomi towards the fence, it seemed to disappear. Zorn extended his senses to try to find the hollow while Vesta was going towards Tsukiyomi, seeing if he needed any help. It was then that Zorn ran towards Vesta, pushing her to the right, right before the hollow behind her attacked.

Zorn was agile enough that he was able to avoid the slice, but just by a hair. He rolled, landing on his feet, like all cats do. He then stood up and ran towards the hollow, running towards his back to grab hold and rip into it. Once he touched the hollow, lightning shot through his body, making it hard for him to actually gather reiatsu. He sank his teeth deep into the hollow to hold on, trying his best to shred its back.

After being sent through the air and hitting his back against the metal chain fence of the school roof Tsukuyomi knew that these next three hollows were going to be a challenge. That one was incredibly powerful compared to the normal and was prominently a close combat type which meant that Vesta wouldn't be suited to fight against it. He had to move and take it out quickly or else she might get hurt. The actual problem whether he wanted to admit it or not though wasn't the fact that he would have to deal with the superior strength of that hollow.

While it was true that the pure strength behind that hollow vastly out measured Tsukuyomi's his speed was around the same and he had faith that he could defeat it. The problem was going to be dealing with those other two hollows while he had to worry about this one as well. He didn't even know what the other two hollows were capable of and yet he had to deal with this one first. In the next moment he saw Zorn make sure that Vesta was out of the way and just barely evade himself.

Tsukuyomi fell to the roof and could feel that his ribs were damaged from that swing hit. That meant that his wrist wasn't the only thing hurt and his effectiveness in combat was going to drop rapidly if they didn't take this hollow out soon. He had no choice, but to give it everything he could. In the following moment as Zorn began to charge after the hollow the sound of something cutting through the air became apparent on the roof. Zorn lunged at the hollow only for the beast to move backwards out of the way.

In the next moment as it moved forwards with a wide grin on its face and slashed downwards at Zorn's head with everything in its favor the monster realized it was in danger by pure instinct alone. Moving backwards as fast as it could it just barely got out of the path of death. Tsukuyomi's shikai soared through the air above Zorn and right where the head of the hollow had been a moment early. Tsukuyomi was still in his place though however with his right hand held above his head as he spun the long silver chain connected to his zanpakuto.

He had trained for a long time and with that training he had come to learn that utilizing chains themselves was something many couldn't do and something that many couldn't fight against. It gave him a significant advantage and one that he needed right now. His three white moons moved across the roof going to the corners. In the following moment a fourth appeared from the zanpakuto and moved to the only remaining corner. If anything got near them they would find that they were trapped within what felt like a gravity field and wouldn't be able to get away from them.

However, the hollow was still alive and now knew what was going on. It let out a screech towards Zorn and Tsukuyomi and in the following moment a high pitch came from above. One of the other hollows seemed to be joining into the battle. However, it wasn't coming down to the roof. It looked like a crocodile humanoid with black scales and a massive jaw. It stood on the air and in the next moment fell to the roof cracking the surface. It only took a moment, but the bladed insect was upon Tsukuyomi slashing downwards at him while the other hollow charged Zorn.

Tsukuyomi tried his best just barely evading the slash of the hollow by side stepping to the left. He pulled on the chain of his zanpakuto while moving and in the following moment got a clean hit on the hollow. The crescent blade that was his zanpakuto descended upon the hollow and cut through its flesh into the right shoulder of the beast. However, in the next moment due to his success Tsukuyomi let down his guard and met a horrible fate. The left blade that was the hollows arm ascended and cut across his chest. The vest he wore broke and blood sprayed from his chest.

Vesta was watching the battle play out. It seemed that Zorn was holding his own, for the most part, but the sword armed hollow came back to try to attack him. Before Vesta could do anything, it seemed like Tsukiyomi was going to help, but the hollow already knew what was going on. It moved quickly out of the way, to avoid the attack that was right by Zorn. It was then that another wanted to help.

So now, there were two hollows trying to destroy them. The crocodile one went after Zorn while the sword armed one tried to hit Tsukiyomi. He was able to hit it, which was great, but then the other arm came in and sliced at Tsukiyomi's chest, hitting him and spraying blood from him. Vesta immediately got angry and felt the other presence come to the forefront of her mind.

"So, it seems like you need my power.... Are we going to do as we did last time? I think the agreement we had last time was good." Vesta started to think about it. What they did agree to last time seemed to work. Vesta would use Death's power in her times of extreme need but Death couldn't push herself over Vesta, meaning taking complete control of her. This way, Vesta would be more willing to use her power and Death would get more chance to venture outside.

Vesta was also slowly letting Death see outside of her eyes. It was very slow right now, only at times where she was alone, by herself, with nothing around but Zorn, to keep an eye on her. She hadn't done anything...yet. She took a breath and nodded to herself. "FINALLY! I get to be free again! I won't take over, like we promised, but you better keep up with your end of the bargain, that's all I ask." Vesta took a deep breath and let the change take her.

When Vesta opened her eyes again and let out her breath, she had become Death. The change, now, was almost instantaneous. She opened her new eyes, looking around at the battlefield and smiled. She glanced at Zorn, who had also changed to his 'Death' form, fur turned gray with the lightning going black. Zorn didn't break a stride, still battling with the sword armed hollow while his change was instantaneous as well. He still had his original power.

He lunged at the hollow, trying to attack from behind, since his back would be the best target. The four balls of Nether surrounded Death, ready to be used. Death thought about it, reaching into one of them, pulling out a spear. She immediately threw it at Zorn's hollow and sent two of the orbs towards the remaining two hollows. She then started to laugh. "It's going to be fun to kill all of you!" When the two orbs were sent out, she made sure that the one aimed for the crocodile didn't hit the shinigami, since Vesta cared for him for some reason.

Tsukuyomi felt his body immediately get colder as his chest was sliced open by the bladed left arm of the hollow. His vest hadn't provided him with any actually defense against the bladed arm and now blood was spraying from the wound that he had been inflicted. The wound itself was from his right hip up the left shoulder. Although he was suffering a rather large and inconvenient amount of blood the wound itself wasn't all that deep. He would need to replace his vest obviously, but the most important thing was . . . . survival.

Now as he moved backwards with his blood escaping his body and the hollow rushing towards him believing that success was completely his to claim against the long black haired Shinigami before him. However, Tsukuyomi knew that he wasn't physically strong enough to parry the left blade. If he didn't defeat himself this hollow was in fact going to kill him here and now. He was able to accept lose and death, but he wouldn't accept leaving Vesta to die.

Tsukuyomi angled his zanpakuto towards one of the white glowing moons and in that moment as he concentrated his reiatsu and focused on that singular moon it suddenly turned green and began to spin. Tsukuyomi had to use everything that he had learned and become proficient at with his zanpakuto in order to actually live through the battle with this hollow and help Vesta. In the next moment the green moon was gone from the position it had been at the corner of the roof and instead it was right behind the hollow's back without even touching it.

Tsukuyomi had moved his moon as fast as he could a speed that exceeded what he could actually achieved even while utilizing shunpo. He had needed to use the technique known as Lunar Dance in order to make sure that the Harvest Moon would reach its destination in time. In the following moment though the back of the hollow began to bleed and the flesh began to burst into pieces. Screams of pain and agony escaped from the hollow as the moon grew closer and the hollows body looked as if it was being shoved into a blender as it died.

Tsukuyomi stopped the Harvest Moon approximately six feet from him just enough that it would cut into him as it had the hollow. Now he had defeated one of the them and there were only two left. His chest was bleeding heavily though and he now dropped to the rood holding his chest with his left hand. Kneeling on the ground with his shikai stabbed into the roof to support him he looked up and his eyes widened at the sight of Vesta in her demonic transformation. He had seen it before, but wouldn't have expected her to enter into it so suddenly or even willingly after the last time they had seen each other.

Tsukuyomi himself had only ever reentered that type of state a handful of times when his life had been in danger or his rage had consumed him. Now though he saw what he had those few years ago. The dark orbs that encircled her much like his moons that she could then use as weaponry. The crocodile hollow was in danger of being hit as it fought against Zorn. However, this one seemed even more powerful than the last. Grabbing ahold of Zorn by the nap of his neck and his left hind leg the hollow picked him off the roof and held him in front of it so that the spear would hit Zorn in his torso.

Suddenly then it was upon Zorn. Moving right to him inside his guard on the side of his body. The hollow was massive even bigger than him roughly about eight feet in height and a few hundred pounds of muscle. It grabbed ahold of Zorn's neck and a moment later bit into his back with its massive jaw. It knew that the strange looking female was the Bount, but not what she was now. She seemed different and the best thing it could do was to eliminate Zorn. As that happened the last hollow seemed to enter the fray.

Moving at Vesta from above it soared downwards extending its wings and halting its descent about fifteen feet above Vesta. Suddenly it flapped its wings downwards at her and feathers began to rain down upon her. The feathers were as hard as steel and as durable as concrete. Vesta was going to need to do something. As they moved at a speed of 250 while having a durability of 300 and a force of 200 she wouldn't likely survive the twenty feathers that were coming towards her.

Death was filled with glee as she watched everything unfold in front of her. There was nothing more that she liked more than watching things die by her hands. She was looking over the entire battlefield, trying to figure out what the next plan of attack was going to be. She noticed that the hollow that was attacking Vesta's Doll, Zorn, started to get smart. It lifted Zorn.

She felt Vesta's anger at the hollow and Death smiled even bigger. Killing that hollow was going to be fun! Since Death was a part of Vesta, and knew that Vesta would be able to get Zorn out of the pickle, she let Vesta's consciousness trickle in a little. With that little bit, Death waived a hand and Zorn completely disappeared, dismissed from the battle so he wouldn't be in the way.

So, since Zorn was in safety as Vesta's locket, the spear headed straight towards the hollow. If the spear hit, the hollow would write around in pain and agony, slowly rotting till it disappeared. She would deal with it if the spear missed. She then looked and quickly stopped the other orb that was heading towards Tsukiyomi. His hollow was already gone, so there was no need for it.

She summoned the orb back to her and it appeared at her side instantaneously. She then saw that the other orb was heading towards the bird hollow. She quickly sidestepped (technically side glided) in the direction that Tsukiyomi was in to avoid all the feathers. She would continue side gliding until she was clear of all the feathers. At that moment, the orb would hit the hollow, following its path with no obstructions. She glared at both hollows. "COME AT ME!!"

Tsukuyomi stood on the roof blood still leaking from his chest down to the roof of the school. He was still bleeding rather heavily and his clothing wasn't enough to stop it. His right hand was hurt and wrist was more than likely fractured. Whether he wanted to admit it or not this battle wouldn't last much longer the way things were going. While he had been able to kill off that bladed hollow it seemed that Vesta had gone into whatever type of transformation their Hellish heritage bestowed upon the both of them.

He didn't know for sure whether or not she had found some way to control herself while she was in that form or not, but if she didn't than he wasn't completely confident that he would be making it back to Soul Society alive. She had grown more powerful than the last time the two of them had been together. While the same was obviously true for him he had suffered far more danger than she had during this battle and the only way he could think of survival was to give into his darkness.

He refused to allow such a thing to happen though. Not against Vesta. He would never transform to save his own life while eliminating her. Tsukuyomi was cold and uncaring towards the majority of people simply for his distain of the average, but selflessness was one thing that wasn't expelled from his heart. Giving up his own life so that she could survive was something he wouldn't have to think twice about and if it came to that he was ready to accept it. He just had to make sure that he did everything he could to prevent that outcome.

So now as the crocodile hollow lifted up Zorn to block the spear of dark reiatsu that was coming towards him and Zorn vanished being resealed into the locket. Tsukuyomi grinned as he began to spin his zanpakuto above his head. He had to build up it's momentum and velocity in order for what he was planning to work. While he did that he was able to see that the hollow hadn't been ready for the spear and while it did fire off a bala from its mouth at the last possible moment and shattered the spear it was to late.

The fragments of the spear were to close to it and while the hollow grinned and began to laugh devilishly at the pathetic attack that had been so easy to count it began to feel unimaginable pain course through its face. Screaming in agony as its flesh and bones began to erode away as if time itself was on fast forward. The hollow dropped to its knees and within a few moments was purged of the time it held as life. In the next moment the feathers of the last hollow rained down towards Vesta.

Tsukuyomi was still spinning his zanpakuto above him which now was nothing, but a blur due to the speed at which it was moving. The orb of reiatsu that Vesta was moving up towards the hollow stuck out so easily that it began to fly through the air in order to get away. The orb didn't have the speed to catch the hollow. However, the orb didn't need to catch that hollow. For in the next moment Tsukuyomi's zanpakuto reached up to the hollow. The beast stopped moving having the crescent blade soar in front of it. Believing that it had evaded it didn't see the new white moon that suddenly turned green. In the next moment it's body was torn apart by hundreds of invisible blades.

Death watched with fairly little interest. She knew that if she didn't kill all the hollow here, Tsukiyomi would be more than capable of that feat. She watched as soon as Zorn had disappeared, the hollow was able to shoot a bala at the spear. She thought that it would be impossible with Zorn's lightning coursing through its veins, but maybe there was a limit to what the lightning could actually do.

When the spear got hit, the Nether didn't dissolve. The shards of the spear shot off in different directions, some hitting the hollow in the body, which made Death smile. She watched as, very slowly, rot started to form on the hollow's body. There wasn't enough of her Nether there to actually make it as fast acting as she wanted, but it was still there, which was good enough for her.

But, something changed with the hollow. It seemed that the shinigami, Tsukiyomi, seemed to have more tricks up his sleeve. While her rot was slowly infecting the hollow, he didn't want to wait. It seemed that something was appearing at the hollow's face, sucking it in and completely ripping the flesh away, then the rest of the body. It was so deliciously destructive, she stared in slight awe.

Destruction was her favorite thing, of course, but the way that this power was destroying the hollow was something she had never seen before. If one shinigami could do this, what could a group of them do together? Or, if this power was unique to only this shinigami, what could another one do? Were the attacks the same or different? She was pondering on these questions while she watched the hollow die in agony.

After it had been destroyed, she saw the bird avoiding her orb. It was aggravating, to say the least, that the bird thought it could outrun her. She was about ready to start to change the shape of the orb, but the shinigami was on it again. His new fancy sword was now in front of the bird's face. Then, something green caught her eye before one of the goriest, most awesome things she had ever seen happen.

The bird hollow was ripped to shreds in an instant. It was almost like fireworks, all it needed was to explode from the inside out for that to work. She wondered if maybe he had power to do that as well, and just decided against it. She clapped her hands after the hollow was dispatched, looking towards Tsukiyomi with a newfound respect for the man. She didn't know he had it in him.

"Wow, I didn't know you could do that. Bravo! You're power is rather impressive. Can all shinigami do this or is this fabulous power yours alone? I will need to start varying up how I kill things now, to match a display like that." She turned to him and smiled. She was now thinking of new ideas to use her Nether, which was now circling around her in her four orbs. She slowly started to walk towards him.

While she did so, she felt the pull of Vesta on her. She didn't want to be sent back to the child's head yet, but she knew she had to. Death loved killing, but she did have honor. She wouldn't go back on her word or her promise. If Vesta was ready to come back, she would let her. She had no reason to distrust the girl now, since she was keeping her end of the bargain. Death then physically changed during the walk.

By the time she reached Tsukiyomi, she looked like Vesta again, no worse for wear, with a smile on her face. She knelt next to Tsukiyomi, looking over his injuries. She didn't have her bag on her, it was probably still on the ground outside. She would lightly touch him. "Stay right here for a minute." She then ran across the roof to pick up her locket, which still had Zorn. She felt him in there, so he was no worse for wear. She looked down on the ground and saw her bag, which she could leave there.

She then hurried back to his side. "Are you okay Tsukiyomi? It seemed that those hollows got in a good one. I hope Death didn't freak you out too much, she can go a little overboard. In case you're asking, yes, I can control my demon powers now. It's not perfect, but it's enough to get a handle on her and pull myself back. I have Jin to thank for that training. But, do you need anything? Something I can get you?"

Tsukuyomi watched as the avian hollow was cut into thousands upon thousands of tiny little pieces only for those pieces to then start to fall to the roof of the school. As they descended towards the roof though they all vanished moving onto Soul Society where the soul of that hollow would be able to claim peace and power in a more civilized way. Well that's what Tsukuyomi had been told anyway yet his own beliefs were quite different. There was no power that was civil power was brutal and something that could only be obtained through struggling for greatness.

That's how he had ascended to such power in such a short amount of time. Now though the danger had passed and he would be able to return to Soul Society in order to receive healing from Division Four. Until the majority of the Shinigami in other divisions Tsukuyomi didn't look down upon those in the healing division. Rather he respected them for their choice and gave them whatever help he could when they needed it from a officer of the police division.

As his zanpakuto was pulled back down towards him by the long silver chain Tsukuyomi felt that he was pushing himself slightly to hard. He had suffered a heavy wound and it would be best to leave as soon as possible. However, he wasn't going to do that. He still had work to do. As he caught his zanpakuto by the hilt he turned towards Vesta. She was still in her demonic state and it began to speak to him as it walked over to him. The orbs that circled around her were so much like his own zanpakuto. His three white moons and two green ones moved towards him signaling that if Vesta did anything he wouldn't be without defense.

However, all she did was speak and then after a few moments she vanished Vesta herself seemed to be right in front of him again. She touched his chest and then told him to stay where he was as she ran off. He didn't know what she really planned on doing. The wound was something that only an experienced medic would be able to take care of and he doubted that Vesta had devoted herself to that study over the last year. Regardless by the time she got back Tsukuyomi had sealed his zanpakuto once again.

When she got back though it seemed that she was worried and in that state of panic. She herself hadn't suffered any type of injury and yet here she was in front of him going on and on moving from one thing to the next. He grinned and as she reached the end of what she was going to say his forehead pressed against her own gently as his right hand grabbed ahold of the back of her neck. "You need to stop worrying so much. It'll make all of this wonderful hair fall out."

Vesta was slowly trying to calm herself down. Tsukiyomi didn't die, he was still here in front of her, just wounded. She was trying to figure out what she was going to say next, what she was going to ask next, when she saw him grin towards her and then he did something that she hadn't felt for such a long time it was weird for her to feel the sensation again. Their foreheads touched.

She immediately stopped speaking and felt a slight blush color her cheeks. He spoke, telling her not to worry or else she was going to make her hair fall out. He even called it wonderful. She also didn't miss when he used his right hand to grab the back of her neck. This was something that she had been dreaming of for two years. Two long years. But now that the moment had arrived, she didn't know what to do.

She tried to figure out something to say to him, something to ask him. So, she slightly moved her forehead off his, moving her right hand to his shoulder. She moved her face so that her face was still in close proximity to his own face. She looked into his eyes for the first time and wished that she had seen these eyes earlier. They were so beautiful. She started to slowly rub her hand on his shoulder, enjoying his presence.

"I have so much I want to talk to you about, so much I want to ask. But, there is one thing that is on my mind that I want to ask you about. When I met you two years ago, your eyes were closed and you told me that you couldn't see anything. But now, you comment on how my hair is and how I look. How were you able to get your sight? Did you unlock it or something with your crazy powers? Was it something else? I'm just so curious..."

Staying in the position that they were both in right now was something that Tsukuyomi wished he could keep for days. Being this close to someone so beautiful wasn't anything that any sane individual would wish to stop. It meant more though simply because Vesta was the beautiful girl in front of him and the time apart from her had been fairly void. While he had made new relationships with other people there wasn't anything as simple or nature as what he had with Vesta.

Now though it seemed that she was on to speaking with her rapid tongue again. Tsukuyomi simply smiled as she spoke and then when he realized what she wanted to know his smile vanished. Now his expression was one of bland anger. He didn't appear to even really be mad on the outside, but inside he couldn't help the hate from targeting himself. "Honestly Vesta for one reason or another I started being able to see more and more after I transformed into my demonic form."

Tsukuyomi wanted to stay longer, but his chest was still bleeding and Vesta without a doubt had things that she would need to take care of before the day was over. So stepping back from her slowly he smiled again. "I've got to get back to Soul Society before this wound becomes even more of a problem. Don't worry I'll be back regularly from now on." He held out his zanpakuto and turned the blade causing a doorway to Soul Society to open. "See you soon Vesta."

Vesta smiled at him staying in his location. Though, once she had asked her question, he had gotten really serious. Serious to the point that she wondered if she had done the wrong thing by asking him in the first place. He then answered, saying that after he transformed to his demon form, he began to see more and more. So, it seemed like his demon power had awakened his sense of sight. She didn't know it could do that, but she knew nothing of demons.

It was interesting to think about, what their demon powers could do as side effects, but it was then that she realized that he was still bleeding. She knew that he needed to get that taken care of ASAP, so he wasn't going to be staying around here much longer. It made her sad, but just seeing him again was enough to lift her spirits. It was then that he said what she was thinking out loud.

Though, at the tail end of his statement, something made her smile brightly. He told her that he will be back in the Human World more regularly now. She was glad that she would be able to see him again. She nodded, answering back. "You better come back regularly from now on! I'll see you soon too, Tsukiyomi." She smiled and waved at his retreating figure. Once he was completely gone, she got up and quickly made her way from the roof to the ground floor, picking up her bag and running home, since she would be late. But, she would get to see Tsuki again and for that moment, it was all that mattered.
