The day was ending, the sun was setting and soon the moon would rise up and illuminate the night and as it rose so did Asim awaken from his slumber by his hunger. He had been sleeping ever since the fight with the strange armor clad man who was pulled into a gate. Since that fight he had no feeling of hunger, no need to consume any souls, however now his hunger had once more arose and it was calling him to feed once again on the souls of the living or the souls of those who had some form of spiritual power. Hunger was what awoke him before from his century long slumber and now once again it awakens him, this time however he can feel that his sleep was shorter than the last.
Slowly he rose himself up from the sands of the desert of Hueco mundo and he looked out at the empty vastness that was this world and let out a roar, a calling to all of his fellow hollows that were around him. A call to join together, a call to hunt, a call to feast on those weaker than themselves. Slowly he saw a few figures on the horizon creep towards him. Each one slowly moving, shuffling about like the dead. None of them showed any intentions of feasting on their fellow hollows as they got closer to one another. Asim didn't move however, no he kept still and waited till they were all next to one another. Some spoke, others waited, one even started to drool thinking of the feast they were about to have. Yet Asim waited hidden in the sand.
Slowly he rose up from the sands, letting the grains fall off of his body. Taking one step forward caused some of the sand trapped in his mane to drop off. Not even shaking the sand off of his own body he lumbered forward towards the group of fellow hollows, each step causing more sand to slowly fall off of his body. Silently he approached and eyed each of his fellow hollows. They all seemed weak, all of them worthless and all of them hungry and waiting for it. None of them could open a garganta by themselves sadly so they were forced to wait for it to arrive. They knew that by grouping up together there was a higher chance that one of it would notice and start walking towards them.
Soon they felt it, a small shock wave was felt before they could hear the sounds of it's foot stepping on the ground. Another step was taken by it and again they felt the small shock wave of it coming closer. Each step brought it closer and closer to them and they couldn't wait. After the sixth step they saw it in the distance, towering over all of them and almost eclipsing the moon from where it was they saw it. The Menos grande, a next step in line for a hollow and one that knew how to open up a garganta. Asim kept quiet as most of the other hollows around him started to cheer out and howl knowing that it wouldn't be long before they would all get the chance to hunt.
It wasn't long before the monster towered over all of them. It's mask held no expression while it stood there over all of them. With a mighty roar it ripped open a gate to the void and inside of the void countless others opened to the world of the living. All the hollows rushed in quickly to get first grabs at the gate that felt like it held the most promising hunting grounds. All but Asim, he knew better than to try to rush in and fight for a gate, no he had another plan that was already in motion. What all the other hollows had failed to hear was the sound of buzzing wings while they cheered and howled how the sound of buzzing wings had grown quite large.
Entering the garganta he smiled as his swarm of scarabs quickly flew out and started to devour his fellow hollows. Asim was a god, he was a ruler and there was no way that these lower hollows would share in the bounty that was an offering from the Menos to himself. It didn't take long before his scarabs made short work of all the other hollows. Their screams filled the void as they tried to flee, but there was no escape. Each one of them would fall, each one would vanish into nothingness. He wouldn't waste his time on eating any of them given that he deemed them unworthy of becoming part of him.
In the void he looked at the numerous doorways that he could take each one held a wondrous hunting ground, however one to him captured his attention. From the gate he saw a prey he couldn't let slip pass his grip. A male arrancar that was bleeding while fighting a female shinigami. He slowly licked his lips at both of them, given that they were both very attractive. This is where he would go hunting and both of them would be his prey. His eyes locked on the shingami he stepped out of the gate and into the world of the living. In the shadows he waited and watched for his chance.
The fight between his prey was interesting to watch. The female seemed to have the upper hand in the fight. He didn't know why, but at the moment he knew that it was better this way. If the arrancar had been winning there might have been a chance that it would turn on him the moment that he killed the shinigami. Asim wanted an easy hunt for himself and these two in the middle of a struggle seemed like they weren’t paying attention to the world around them. They didn't notice that a few of his scarabs were slowly making their way to where they were. Turning everything into sand as they got closer. Asim himself didn't just sit, no he started to creep closer and closer towards them. Waiting for the perfect opportunity to jump in and kill the female shingami and eat her without her noticing.
As he watched he saw the arrancar continue to take hit upon hit driving the arrancar into a corner. He lost his balance as he tried to run away and tripped over a rock. The arrancar fell to the ground and looked up seeing the female shinigami standing over him with a blade in hand. That's when Asim saw his chance, her back was turned to him and her attention was all on the fallen arrancar. Quickly he ran out from his hiding spot and opened his mouth wide. As the girl thrust her sword down to try to kill the arrancar Asim's jaw snapped shut on her neck. His teeth dug into her flesh blood spilling from his mouth.
Pulling himself back he ripped the last attachments that her spine had to her body leaving a headless corpse there standing over the arrancar. He slowly started to chew his meal for a bit before swallowing large unchewed chunks of her flesh. His arms extended out to her body grabbing it bringing it closer to his mouth so he can consume it. His mouth opened once more to bite off another chunk of flesh from the now dead female. He could feel his hunger start to fade slightly from the spiritual power this female had, but it wouldn't be enough he needed more he wanted more and the male arrancar that was still laying on the ground would be the second half of his meal.
It didn't take too much longer before he ate the last of the female. Once he did his attention was brought back to the male arrancar. By the time he was finished the male arrancar was back on his feet. His face held some fear, but mostly relief. “Thank you hollow, if you didn't help me she would of killed me.” Asim smiled as he licked some of the blood off of his lip. “Asim requests tribute from slave.” The arrancar's eyes widened as he understood what Asim was really after, without thinking he ran away hoping to escape being eaten. The chase that was about to happen was making his mouth water.
Asim slowly lurched towards where the fleeing arrancar was running towards, he wasn't too worried about his prey getting away, his scarabs were already taking care of most of the work for him. Quite a few of them had latched onto the arrancar earlier as he was eating the shingami and they were causing it pain along turning it into sand. Luckly for Asim a few scarabs had been eating the ankle of the arrancar and as it tried to jump over a fence his foot fell off and it tripped on the ground. The poor arrancar screamed out in terror knowing what was going to happen as soon as Asim got close to him. It knew that it would now be food for a hollow, something at it once was.
Slowly Asim crept towards his prey, there would be no escape as his scarabs were working on turning it into sand. The sounds of his screams for help and mercy only made his lips water as he stood over the arrancar. “Asim will now accept your tribute.” The arrancar continued to scream out in terror as Asim lowered his arms to raise the man's mangled body from the scarabs attack to his mouth. With one swift motion he bit down and ripped out a large chunk of flesh. He swallowed it whole before taking another bite from the arrancar. He didn't kill the arrancar in one bite like he did with the shingami, no instead he made sure to prolong the pain the arrancar would feel. This was it's punishment for running away from him.
Each bite he took out of the arrancar slowly filled his hunger for the moment' however it wasn't like the time he went hunting before. Last time he was filled by eating only two souls, now this time he needed more he wanted to eat more and he sensed that there was more spiritually aware beings in this town. This strange and random town that had words drawn in characters, somewhat crude compared to the ones they used in his life as a human. No matter, he would figure out where he was after he had his fill. With the last bit of the arrancar now in his mouth he set off looking for his next prey in this town.

A black butterfly, Asim saw it as it flew away and vanished from his sight. He had no idea that, that butterfly was a hell butterfly and it was sending a message, a message for help. The female shingami he had eaten had in a panic sent out a hell butterfly warring and asking for backup, just before Asim was able to bite down hard enough to kill her. Her message was gargled, but would be understood by others. This simple butterfly would hold so many treasures for Asim, he just didn't know it yet. Normally he would of crushed the simple butterfly, but the way it danced in the moonlight tonight was enough to keep his interest in it till it went back to the soul society. Soon Asim would have new prey to feast upon, all delivered by the butterfly, something that on a whim he allowed to live.
Asim slowly started to circle around the town, looking, searching, hunting for those that who were beautiful enough to become a sacrifice to his hunger. Sadly the night wasn't giving anything to him, there was one woman, dressed with almost nothing on. As he followed her and waited to strike he saw why she was wearing that type of clothing. She was picked up by a man in a car after some money had be exchanged. A harlot, a common street walker, instantly to him her beauty was shattered and she was nothing more than a common whore that used her body for money. Such a being wasn't even worthy to lick his hoofs, much less become a sacrifice to a god like him. Yes he hunted her down and killed the man she was going to please, but he didn't eat him or her, no instead he allowed them to become part of his desert. His scarabs made short work of them, for the both of them becoming part of his desert was a blessing that they didn't deserved.
This hunting was boring him, there was nothing of value here for him to eat. Asim looked out into the night sky and wondered if he should howl out to the menos for them to open the garganta back to hueco mundo. That was till he sensed something, not just one thing, three, there were three brand new spiritually powerful beings entering his hunting ground. A wicked smile formed on his face as he slowly crept towards the source of the three spirtual energies. Little did he know that the hell butterfly had succeeded in sending out a message. The response was to send out three shingami's instantly to deal with this hollow that had killed one of their own. He licked his lips ready to eat once more, he didn't know if any of the three were beautiful, however right now his mouth watered thinking of a meal that could fill him up. Yes he was a hollow, however he had standards and if none of them met his, then these three would just become more fodder for his scarabs.
As Asim got closer he saw the three who had just arrived. Two men and one woman, all of them were attractive, however in a different way. The first male was young, small and had a boyish look to him. If one was to sum him up in one word it would be adorable. From afar Asim saw that the boy's eyes were red and his cheeks were as well. It seemed as if he had been crying about something, whatever it was it meant that he was vulnerable and easy prey. The female was much older than the first man, she was mature, in human years she looked like she was easily in her forties. However based on the way she looked Asim could tell that she was a real looker when she was younger. She was someone who had past her prime, however she wasn't rejecting the effects of time, no she was embracing it and making the most of it. Her beauty was slowly fading away with time and that in and of it's self was what made her attractive.
The last man was the oldest of the three, his hair was slowly fading to gray. The black hair he had was mixed with slight gray here and there. The well kept beard he had which in younger years would have been jet black was now silver. The man's face held years of experience and wear, yet it didn't take away from his appearance at all. He stood proud and held a solemn look on his face as he gave out orders to the other two to split up and look for the hollow. Asim wanted to pounce on the man right away, but he sensed it, the man was the strongest of the three and he knew that it wouldn't be easy to take down the man if the other two were still alive. For now he would have to hunt down the younger boy and the woman before going after the older man. Still Asim was excited, he had found three targets each of them were beautiful in their own way and each would become an offering to him.
Asim watched as the younger male slowly wandered to the west while the woman went to the north and the older male stood there waiting, as if he knew that Asim would come to him. The young boy seemed to be the weakest so he would be the first to be sacrificed to him. From the dark he followed the boy, it seemed as if he was still coming to grips with something that caused him sadness just recently. Eating the boy while he was recovering from emotional pain would be the most pleasing for him. Once the boy had gotten at least ten blocks away from the older man Asim knew that it was time to strike. The older man couldn't come in time if he attacked now and the woman was further away from the boy than the old man. Asim's scarabs slowly started to fly out and head towards the boy, given their size they wouldn't be seen until it was too late.
At first the scarabs slowly started to bite the young boy, slowly ripping off his flesh without alerting any kind of danger from him, but as more started to flood to the boy Asim came out from the shadows. Instantly the sadness that was on the face of the boy was turned into rage. The young boy screamed out at Asim. “YOU KILLED HER, YOU MONSTER, I LOVED HER.” Asim laughed, he had a great idea as to who the boy was talking about, the female shingami he had killed just before. It seemed that this boy had a relationship to her and was destroyed by the fact that he had eaten her. The cause of this man's misery was Asim himself and he couldn't feel any better about that. “Asim is a god, yo dare to call Asim a monster?” Knowing that he had ripped away someone who was loved from such a young boy truly made his ego grow.
The boy stood his ground as Asim's scarabs started to rip away at his flesh, as each second passed more and more of the boy became sand. Seeing that the boy wasn't going to move Asim decided that he should provoke the boy. “Asim didn't even need to eat her, Asim just wanted to.” Those words seemed to rattle the boy enough that he ran straight at him, not even caring that the closer he got to Asim the more scarabs attached themselves to his body. The boy was screaming at the top of his lungs as he charged. Each second losing more and more of his flesh to the scarabs, as he got close he lifted up his Zanpakutou at Asim and started to bring it down. He swung it down and waited to see blood spill from the hollow, but Asim's blood wouldn't be the one that would be spilled. No the blade of his swords was long gone, eaten by Asim's scarabs. There was nothing that the boy could do now, he was without a weapon and right in arm's reach for Asim to grab at him.
Without giving it a second thought Asim snapped his jaw around the left shoulder of the boy and took out a large chunk of flesh, spilling blood everywhere. The boy was bleeding out and was going to die, he was good as dead and now Asim had taken the first of the three down. Unlike before Asim knew that he couldn't take forever in eating the boy's soul so he quickly snapped all of it into his mouth. Everything except for the head of the boy. The boy had been so emotional after learning that Asim was the cause of the death of a loved one. So emotional that it caused him to overlook a fatal error and allowed him to become easy prey, if all three of them were like this then it would be better to make the other two act the same way and become easy prey for him. With the head in his hands he headed north, for the woman.
His stomach was slowly getting full from all the beautiful souls he had gotten a chance to eaten tonight. Three souls each one from a beautiful person and each one would help him reclaim his own beauty. How he hated the way he looked as a hollow, the fact that his wondrous white hair is now black and dirty. His tan skin turned pitch black and full of holes. This was a horrific state to be in and now he was forced to live each day like this. Only counting the days till he returned to being the perfect image of a god that he once was. There couldn't be a more horrible punishment for him, than being this horrific beast.
Slowly he was making his way north looking for the woman, he knew that trying to find her before she found him would be hard and if she spotted him before he saw her it could mean the end of his life. Asim was always hunting from the shadows and always had his prey in sight, so he wasn't use to hunting a dangerous prey without knowing where it was. The whole thing made him afraid yet excited. Moving in the shadows he made sure that the darkness of the night was his friend and it payed off. While hiding on a roof behind a water tower he saw her standing in the middle of a street below.
He smiled knowing what he was going to do and wondering how she was going to react. With the boy's dismembered head still in his grip he jumped down and hid in a dark alley. Placing the head on the ground he rolled it out of the alleyway and into the middle of the street before the woman. What happened next was perfect, the woman screamed out in terror and fell back. Her face held so much fear at the sight she was seeing. The face of the boy was half eaten by his scarabs and appeared as if it was rotting away. Her screams were so loud, yet it was music to his ears. However he knew that the longer she screamed out the more likely it was that the older male would show up.
With that fear in mind he acted quickly, from behind he attacked her and struck her in the back of the neck while she was still trying to recover from seeing the head of her ally. As her body slumped over his scarabs started to go to work ripping her body to bits turning it into sand. Even though this woman was his prey his scarabs could enjoy a bit of it as well. His jaw opened wide to fit his mouth around her body and bites down and ripping out a large chunk of her flesh. After the first bite he felt something coming towards him, there was a source of energy running right towards him and he knew where it was coming from, the older man.
He quickly started to swallow large chunks of the woman at a time wanting to actually eat his prey before the other came. There was no time to savor this soul, no he had to devour it as fast as he could given that his existence depended on being able to take out the last shingami without it causing harm to him. With each bite he could sense that the man was getting closer and closer to him. Each one became more and more frantic as he wanted to finish his meal and he knew that he couldn't run away given how fast the man was heading towards him. As he finished the last bit of her he saw the man appear out of nowhere before him.
The man was breathing heavy, almost panting, Asim smiled and laughed. He know understood how the man was able to get to him so quickly. The man had been using stepping techniques to close the gap between the two of them hoping to save his comrade. Asim had seen others use it before, but only at a quick glance and for a defensive measure never as a means of travel given that from what he could tell it drained a lot of stamina from the user. The man was tired and now he had to deal with the countless scarabs from Asim's power. He smile confident that the man wouldn't be able to keep up.
Asim sat back and watched his scarabs slowly start to towards the man. That's when the man said something, it was only two words, but two words that Asim would never forget. “Zap, Raiko” The man's weapon changed from a normal blade into one that was jagged like a lighting bolt and then a pulse of electricity came out from the blade and surrounded the man for a brief moment. Asim's eyes went wide as he saw his scarabs drop to the ground like they were nothing. The man had killed his scarabs with one move, the countless scarabs that were going after him were done in by one action.
Asim was in shock, he had never seen his scarabs beaten by anything before, but now here was something that killed them without any effort. The man slowly started to walk towards Asim. Asim took a step back as more and more scarabs poured out of his body and headed towards the man. Each time a swarm came close to the man an electrical pulse came out killing his scarabs instantly. While there was at least fifty feet between them the gap was slowly closing with each passing moment. Even though he was slowly stepping back he wasn't making any progress with making the distance greater between them.
Asim was a hunter, he was always on top, there was never a time when he was forced to back down. His scarabs made it so he was unstoppable, unkillable and more importantly untouchable, but now all that was pointless due to this man and the strange thunder that he seemed to pulse out each time the scarabs even got close. He was thankful that the man was slowly walking towards him and not running right at him, if he had been this would have been long over, the man would of killed him and avenged his fallen comrades.
The gap between him and the man had now become only twenty feet and still his scarabs were being slaughter like they were nothing. Howling out he tried to scare the man with his voice, but the man didn't falter. However something strange happened, his scarabs were on the man. There wasn't an electric jolt anymore, no longer were his scarabs falling to the ground. What had happened? Had it been a fluke? Had he forgotten to use it? Or couldn't he use it anymore? The man was still breathing heavy as more and more scarabs started to swarm around the man without restraint. The battle had turned in his favor and Asim wasn't going to let this chance slip away.
For whatever reason the man couldn't use electricity any longer. Asim ran right towards the man and shoved his body right into the man pushing him down on the ground. The man was barely able to move his arms, he was gasping for breath as the scarabs continued to turn more of the man into sand. The man had lost due to using most of his stamina to rush over as quickly as possible, not saving any for the actual fight. Asim pinned the man's arms down using his hands before lowering his mouth to bite off the man's face clean off of his head. There was no screaming, no begging for mercy nothing from the man. Only silence and acceptance of what was going to happen.
Unlike the woman Asim took his time to slowly eat the man. Savoring each bite making each bit count as he ate him. The last shingami had fallen before him and there wasn't a threat to him in the area right now so there wasn't a reason to rush. This would be the fifth soul he had a chance to eat tonight yet just like before his hunger was still there. He knew that something was going on with him. Before it only took a soul or two before he went back to heuco mundo and slept for years, but now he was awake and an active hunter.
(First two shingami class 7 last shingami class 4)
"Hollows truly are the maggots of the five realms, aren't they?" A calm and collected voice called out from a ways away. "That's not to say I hate them for it. No, it's not like they can help praying on the weak, you can't change your nature." The owner of said voice was standing about ten yards back, watching the hollow in disintrest. The man, you could tell only by the voice, was an oddity. The man's hair was floating around, almost as if it was inside a tube full of water. It was glowing slightly, a vivid shade of blue, hiding beneath the floating white hair. The glow was unsteady, inconsistent, flickering over to a royal shade of purple before instantly switching back to its former blue hue. This was reflective of how he is trying to act, with his composure slipping, trying to morph into a rage at the scene he stumbled into.
A little further down, right to his face was were the real strangeness began. His eyes were unnatural and strange. His right eye was one solid glowing color. It wasn't white though. no, it was a royal purple, glowing in rage at this heartless being before him. His left would probably be familiar to the hollow, seeing it was a near perfect copy of a hollow's eye. With the whites of his eye reversed, and the pupil a blinding white, the only real difference being that, unlike a hollow though, his eye had green in place of yellow. And, much like his other eye, each color glowed its respective colors.
His skin was glowing as well. Patches of his skin, mostly on the right side of his body were glowing a murderous red, displaying his true feeling to the world, in spite of his best efforts. Aside from those major, and glaring differences, the rest of him was that of a normal human, standing at an average height for an average American male. He was wearing a black shirt, ironically enough, with scarab-like stripes wrapping around his ribs. Adding nondescript blue jeans and average running shoes to the mix, he looks more like one dressed for the mall, not monster slaying.
You might be wondering how he wound up in this situation. And if you aren't, then sucks for you. You see, looking the way our indifferent friend looks is quite the hassle. This gives him a fair amount of trouble getting... pretty much anything through the normal means, such as talking or working. In fact, in most cases, he can't even get through the front door. No, he's attacked waaay before he reaches the building. So, in order it get anything done, he has to... persuade them. With his lightning.
During his diner, takeout burgers again, walking along the rooftops of Karakura, as to avoid the humans. "So quick to judge. Oh well. Free food." He muttered to himself. The night would have gone along fine... if not for a random spike of hollow energy a good distance from him. He paused, pondering on what he should do. Then his thoughts turned to his teacher, and how he would handle it. "GO KILL IT YOU GLOWING F***! THEN YOU CAN RIP OUT ITS INNARDS, AND EAT THAT, INSTEAD OF STEALING FROM PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY WORK FOR A LIVING!" He paused again. "*sigh* why did I have to get Kitai as a teacher...." Dejectedly, he made his way towards the hollow.
Upon arriving, he instantly regretted not arriving earlier. He could feel them as they died. Three died because of this... bug. His skin started to lose more of its white color, quickly replacing itself with that burning red. "It is fitting though. While you, a lowly bottom feeding bug, feed on the weak, you'll die to a failure like me. " His entire body was burning red, and his hair instantly followed suite. "Go on, say it's Impossible, SCREAM MY NAME AS YOU DIE!" He thrusted his arm forward, finger pointing dead center at the hollow and its swarm, as a pool of red liquid pooled around his feet, quickly encompassing everything within ten feet of his body. "Arise god of thunder! Awake mother of storms! Unleash the lighting on the sinners!" He chanted as the tip of his finger sparked with electricity. "Hado #4: Byakurai" A beam of lightning thundered towards his fellow undead, with all the strength his reshi had.
As the last bit of the shingami was eaten he felt something. Something else was here and it was powerful, no not just that it had an insane amount of spiritual power. He quickly turned to see what could be harboring such a power. Who or what was this being with such power that dwarfed the other meals he had had. What ever it was it should have beauty to match the rest if not more. Asim was truly happy to feel such a power coming from a being that he could call his next meal given his hunger had not faded in the least bit.
That was till he saw who held the power and instantly lost any desire to eat the host of that power. For what he saw was an abomination to beauty everywhere. The miss colored skin that seemed to change at will, the horrid eyes that don't match in color both of them horrid colors that complement neither his skin tone nor his hair. Everything about this being caused Asim to feel sick, this wasn't something that he should waste his time on. This being wasn't worthy of becoming a meal to him at all. No this thing had to die by his scarabs and become a sacrifice to his power and not to become part of him. It wasn't worthy of becoming a meal.
The man started to speak, something was happening, but it didn't matter his scarabs would take care of it. As the man started to chant about something hundreds of his scarabs started to head right for the man. There was no need to command them at all, given that they all had the same impulse born into them. The impulse to devour water and turn everything in their path into sand for him. This strange man would be no different everything living had water in it, even if it was a soul it still had water and so it wouldn't be able to escape the unending wave of scarabs that came from his body. Their speed was hard to match for most. Still Asim was keeping an eye out at this strange man.
That's when he saw it a bolt of lighting came from him and right towards him. He jumped to the left quickly dodging it given how far away the man was to him. It gave him plenty of time to dodge the attack. Some of his scarabs however weren't as lucky. A few of them had fallen in the path of the technique and were killed instantly as if they were nothing, but that didn't matter for every second hundreds more spawned from his body. It was only a matter of time before his scarabs swarmed the man form all sides all of them aiming to bite the man and rip his flesh from his body.
The man yelled something else out something about calling out his name, but it made no sense to him. Asim didn't know the man's name nor did he care to learn it. A being such as himself didn't need to deal with the names of mortals that didn't even belong as part of his meal. This mortal's chapter was closing because he had dared to lash out at a god without knowing what he was doing. This was the folly of man, to think that they were on the same level as a god was a foolish notion and Asim would personally teach it to this man. He would wait for the screams of pain and anguish to come out. For the sounds of begging and pleading of the man to fill his ears and Asim would respond with a no.
That's just how gods were choosing to give out mercy as they saw fit and changing the land to fit their need, just like how he was turning this land into desert. Slowly the desert he controlled would grow larger and larger. At first it was ten feet around him, but soon it would grow to twenty feet all around in every direction. The air above the desert was hot and dry whoever would step foot in it would feel the full extent of his power. For he as Asim a reborn god and this was his world to do with as he saw fit.
He sneered, as he watched the lightning sail passed the hollow, who simply dodged to the right of his Kido, or to the left for him. His flood burned a translucent red, as it was bubbled around him. His eyes widened in realisation. If he wanted top live, he needed to calm down. If he wanted to bring peace to those who just died, he needed to be calm, to be rational. His skin started to change color. The red slowly drained from both his his skin tone, and his flood, replacing it with a vibrant blue. His hair remained a blood-like red, but that was neither here nor there.
With his logical mind kicking in, he could finally think clearly. He knew that he shouldn't care for those three, those that just passed. But at the same time.... What kind of person would he be if he just kept walking, knowing that he could have done something.... ANYTHING, to keep this beast from killing again... what kind of human could live with that and accept it? Not this one, and he WAS human, no matter what the invisible, teleporting samurai said. He wasn't crazy, THEY WERE CRAZY! AND SO WAS THIS BUG LOVING MONSTER!
Speaking of said bugs, a swarm of them were flying his way, intent on making a meal of him. Like he's let that happen. Expanding his flood to cover another ten feet all around, his flood now covered everything within twenty feet of him. He smirked, admiring his work. With that set up, he ran. He ran head first, charging towards the beast of Greek legend. A truly ghastly work the minotaur was. Born from the cruelty of the Gods, and the foolishness of man, this grotesque hybrid of man and bull was born, in order to spite the king for ignoring orders.
"Guess I get to play Theseus this night."
As he began his assault forward, his flood remained in place, traveling at the same speed as he. And the moment those bugs touched his flood, he took control of the fight. Impo was a smart man. A very, smart man. And as such, he often did things that others wouldn't think to try. Where as this ghastly monster fills his battlefield with his airborne army, trying to take control through brute force. Impo had a simpler method: take control of their movements. As the wave started to enter the bubble, the floodgates were opened.
Instantly, the bugs were moved to the sides of Impo's charge. And not slightly either. No, these bugs looked like they were using their very own movement ability. To any outsider, this would feel incredibly disorienting, and these winged certains were wobbling mid flight. But that wasn't all that happened to them. The glowing failure was manipulating their position in such a way that they were crashing into each other left and right. Smashing and crashing with all that they had, not losing any of their previous momentum, it took it's toll on the minotaur's servants, killing off many of them from head on collisions, and grounding the rest.
They wouldn't stay down for long, none of them ever did, but they would be disoriented long enough. Just enough to kill their hive. As he kept charging for the hollow, the more things were moved aside. Bugs, little rocks on the ground, that sand that littered the ground, all were swept to the outer edges of his flood. This was no simple task for the failure though. No, the strain this was putting on his focus was extremely taxing. He wouldn't be able to keep this up for too long. He had to end this quickly.
"Bakudo #9: Geki! Hado #4: Byakurai!"
He said, throwing his hands forward as soon as soon as the monster was in distance. He doubted this this thing would let him actually touch it with his flood, seeing what it just did to his bugs. No, the creature would be dead of that came to pass, and it undoubtedly knew that. So, once the beast was within five feet of his flood, he would move. While moving the chess pieces around as he saw fit was how he normally handled his problems, he did have an ace or two in reserve. Having his flood bring him near face-to-face with the heartless monster, he fired off two kido. The first was to stun, to prevent his escape. And the second was aimed at his head, meant only to kill. Lets see if this thing could dodge point blank.

The failure made several horrible mistakes, the first was thinking that he could count all of the scarabs that were coming after him. Given that their speed which was much higher that the one of the failure and their small size size it was hard to count them all one would say it would be impossible. Even if he saw a massive swarm coming towards him they were coming from all sides. Every single side would be covered with scarabs, the man would have had to sensed every single one that wasn't in his field of vision at the exact say time to be even able to stop them all from getting to him. Something that was no easy task for even a master of sensing reiatsu.
The second was to think that the ones that he brushed aside would be out of commission. That wasn't the case at all, no amount of speed or strength could kill his scarabs. The only thing that could was lightning, something that the failure saw but didn't take advantage of at all. None of them died and all of them would constantly continue to go towards the man as soon as they could which meant that more and more of his focus had to be used for pushing the scarabs away. There would never be a chance for him to lower the amount of scarabs that he would need to focus on. In fact it would be the exact opposite for the strange glowing man.
The third fatal mistake was to come closer to Asim. While the amount of scarabs that were originally after the man was massive it was nothing to the amount that the man would encounter as he got closer to Asim. His swarm slowly spread and thinned out the further away it was from him. Getting close to Asim was suicide, the closer you were the more scarabs came to the man. What ever this man's power was it was sure to cause some sort of mental strain having to deal with more than five times the amount of scarabs that he originally had to deal with. Each foot that the man covered toward Asim meant that he had to deal with twice as many scarabs as before.
What was the reason for so many scarabs? Asim produced hundreds and hundreds of them every second from his body. The amount produced every moment was enough to allow them to totally convert everything in a ten foot radius into sand instantly. Everything that meant that the ground under him was also turned to sand and that's the fourth mistake the failure made. His scarabs weren't limited to just the air, no there were some that were burrowed into the ground and the moment they sensed a source of water they flew out from the sands under him and attacked from below.
The next mistake was turning his focus towards Asim being so close to him. Asim's scarabs moved without his command, they all moved on a basic instinct to get water. Water that was in every living being and soul. The moment that he turned his focus towards Asim the control over his scarabs should slip a bit and that's all they needed. Just a moments lapse in concentration was all they needed. For him to not be pushing all the scarabs to the side was all that it was needed. Still that wasn't the worse mistake the failure made, the worst one was leaving his back wide open.
All these mistakes, all these errors, it meant one thing and one thing only. Somewhere, at some point in time when charging towards Asim he would miss one scarab, and that's all it took. One scarab and the life of the failure would be over. Given the massive and countless amount of scarabs it wasn't impossible for it to happen not once but multiple times. The scarab or scarabs would bite down on the flesh of the failure and rip it right open. This would cause the failure to blow up. This was the same fate to all those who came to face Asim.
Thinking that Asim wouldn't do anything was foolish as well. As he saw the man get closer to him he activated his scarab skin. Calling some scarabs to coat his body giving his entire body an armor. An armor as strong as the scarabs and as indestructible as the scarabs as well. This armor was impressing and only had the same weakness as his scarabs. Lightning, but everything else was useless against this armor. He laughed at how often those that he faced fell because of this power, but it was still amazing to see the reaction of each of them.
Not only would this skin protect him from the first kido, if the failure even got the chance to fire it off which was unlikely, but it would also protect him from getting vaporized by the explosion of the failure from having his skin punctured by his scarabs. If by some miracle the failure was still alive, the kido would only stun his scarabs and Asim would move away leaving the outside of his scarab skin frozen, but he himself would be able to move. Asim didn't know what the strange light would do, but it was fine he didn't need to know at all.
If the failure wasn't dead by the time the second kido was uttered out, Asim would find it hard to avoid the kido entirely. Moving to the left allowed him to dodge the fatal blast to his head, but it still would clip his left shoulder. The kido blast would leave a gaping hole through his armor and through his body. It wasn't fatal but it hurt. Sadly being so close to Asim would spell the death of the failure. While he did have his scarabs acting as an armor around his body, that wasn't all of the scarabs. No he was still pumping out scarabs left and right and now the failure not only had to deal with those in front of him, but those behind and to all sides. From every angle, but that's if the failure survived all the way to cast the kido, which was very unlikely.
Still Asim wouldn't stand still after being attacked if his attacker was still alive. No he would start his own attack, being able to move he tossed sand from under his feet up at the failure. The sand acted as a blinding tool while behind it scarabs swarmed the man. Fighting close range against Asim was a foolish mistake, his powers allowed him to overwhelm someone in a matter of moments no matter what they tried. It was always the same, the same outcome, death for all who dared to try to fight against him.

"I miscalculated...."
The failure was overconfident in his abilities, he quickly realised, as he attempted to move the insects aside. This worked for all of five seconds, as they quickly surrounded him, invading his flood. While yes, he could feel them all with his heightened energy sensing, he couldn't keep up with their mass. He attempted to do so regardless, of course, but it was simply in vain. He was able do delay them, but all the mental focus forced him into a standstill. He dared not walk, trying to figure a way out of this mess he threw himself into. He had to get away. But how? He growled in defeat. Turning around, he charged up his only stunning ability twice. One for each hand.
"Bakudo #9: Geki."
Firing at the swarm, away from this monster, he instantly stunned large portion of the beatles, the group falling haplessly out of the sky. Taking him only chance, he forced himself through the gap, moving thanks to his flood to its outermost edge. No longer being teleported away from his ability, the swarm moved inwards, where he had been not even a moment ago. They rushed towards the center for only a split second, before realising that the water was no longer there. But it was enough time for him to shunpo away, fleeing the battle altogether. This all happened in the span of ten seconds.

Asim smiled as he saw the freakish man run away. “Asim is always victorious. Asim is a god, gods never lose.” He cried out as the man ran away. This man wasn't good looking enough for him to even care about chasing down and eating. He wasn't worth the effort, he wasn't worth turning into scarab feed. No, Asim let the man run away, run like the coward he was. He had no time to deal with such a strange man. There was nothing of value to be gained from eating the man, nor would his scarabs enjoy feasting on such strange flesh. So the strange man would be allowed to run away and live, live another day to become food for another time if their paths crossed once more.
With his victory assured Asim left the place in search of new prey to eat, new prey to devour and turn into parts of him. The strange man had taken too much of his time away from the hunt and now he needed to make up for that. To make up for the lost time and lost meals. How many could he of eaten in that short span that the man made him waste? Well how many could he of spied on to see if they were worthy was the better question. There were plenty in this town that had a draw to them spiritually, but most did not live up to his standards. No most were ugly and only worth to feed his scarabs a bit of scrap food. There were far and few in between that were actually worthy of becoming food for him. Which angered him greatly, he was a god food and offerings should come to him he shouldn't have to work for them at all.
Slowly he walked away from the battle ground knowing that he was safe and hungry, hungry for another meal. Now he was faced with a new issue, while he had been hunting the strange man nothing else had popped up that had some sort of spiritual power. No it had been a dry area, had he hunted everything of value here? It seemed like that was the case at the moment, but he knew that it could change at any moment. He knew that at any given time someone or something could show up that had spiritual powers and become a new meal. As he crept through the city looking and hunting he felt it. There was a large sensation coming from the center of the town. Something was coming no not just one thing, but multiple beings were coming out into the city.
Feeling them all it peaked his interest there had to be someone of value in that group to eat, and if not he could follow them to see if they lead him to something else to eat. He rushed himself to find where they were coming from. Running along the tops of the rooftop, he made his way as quick as he could knowing that once they all arrived they would split up as was common for groups of spiritual beings. Suddenly he saw them, and he smiled. He was on a rooftop above them all and he saw them. All nine of them, all nine female arrancars. He could tell, all of them were fresh, new, and weak. But what made his lips water was the fact that they all looked like sisters and beautiful sisters at that. He had found a worthy hunting ground. Nine female arrancars that would add back to his beauty nine females that would become his meal.
He took his time given that they all seemed timid and started to analyze them better. From his spot above them he took in each detail of them all. He could see that they all had the same kind of weapon, a simple blade on their left side. Each of them were clearly sisters, given their faces were similar, but there were some major differences between each of them that telling them apart wouldn't be hard at all. No he could easily tell them all apart from one another, and each one seemed like they were as weak as the last. So he wondered which of the nine would he strike at first.
The one in the very center was the shortest and appeared to be the youngest of the nine. She had dark brown hair and appeared to be only sixteen maybe a bit older. From where he stood he could see her bright brown eyes. She was cute, and small. Given her size she might have been the weakest one out of the bunch. Her clothing was modest and her mask fragment was a line under her eyes. She seemed like the best one to strike. Given that she was also the one who held onto the others the most. She seemed afraid and she had good reason to be afraid. Asim was here and she was one of his marks.
To the left of her was another sister, this one was much taller and appeared to be in her late twenties maybe early thirties. She had spikey yellow hair with some white streaks in it. Her hair looked as if it was made of needles. She was one of the tallest of the nine. Her clothing however was very revealing. Being a mix of a small sports bra and a pair of long pants. On her hands she had a pair of yellow and black gloves. Her mask fragment as far as he could tell was under her left eye and was a lightning bolt. Asim felt a great deal of worry coming from that sister. If he went into a fight with her he had a feeling he needed to end it fast.
As he glanced over to the next sister he noticed something odd about her right away. Her mask fragment was more of a crown that wrapped around her long flowing blue hair. It was odd to see such an elegant mask fragment for a commoner. Her deep blue hair reached down to her knees and she was as old as the one with yellow hair. However her face held a more gentle expression on it. She didn't make that much of an impression on him, however her long flowing hair made up for it. She wore a light blue and white dress that covered everything. It was a regal dress and one that made it seem as if she was a noble, but Asim knew the truth she was a commoner trying to be a royal.
Next to her was what seemed to be the last older sister, this one had bright red hair like fire. In the center of her hair there was a large toff of cream colored hair that was surrounded by vibrant red hair. Her mask fragment seemed to look like a flame and was under her right cheek. She seemed to be rather jittery ready to do something unlike the rest of her sisters who were waiting there. Her clothing was rather simple, a long white dress that covered everything. She was really one of the more forgettable sisters. Yet her bright crimson eyes drew Asim towards her. She would make a great meal if not for her eyes alone.
From there he saw two sisters holding one another. One had a light pink hair that was short, it ended at her shoulders. In the center of her forehead he saw her mask fragment. It seemed to be a red gem, a ruby in the center of her forehead. What was interesting was her eyes. She had a purple iris but the pupil of her eyes were pure white. It could be that she was blind, but the way she moved about with the group didn't seem like she was. She and the sister she held onto seemed to be both around twenty five in age. A bit younger than the older three, but not as young as the brown haired one.
The sister that she had been holding onto had deep black hair that went down all the way to the ground. Her eyes were bright yellow and she seemed to have a crescent moon as a mask fragment in the dead center of her forehead. She and the other sister wore very different clothing choices. While the one with purple hair had a long coat on and what looked like high heels on. The black haired sister wore a simple and short dress that came to her thigh with what looked like combat boots. The two sisters were rather strange compared to the rest of the group given that they seemed to shy off from them. Preferring to be by themselves, this made it somewhat easier and harder for him to hunt them down though.
The next one he took a good look at had dark green hair, along with what seemed to be flowers in her hair. It was strange to see an arrancar with any sort of living thing on them given what they were. She had a simple mask fragment that looked like a small leaf on her right cheek. The clothing she wore was actually green, unlike the white clothing that most arrancar wore. It was a very simple dress with flowers all over it. He scoffed to himself thinking about how silly it was for this arrancar to go out of it's way to collect flowers for her dress. Either way this female looked to be about twenty one years old.
The eighth sister had light blue hair, with some dark patches of a deeper blue mixed in. Her hair extended down to the center of her back and two bangs fell in the front with a sort of diamond tip to them. Her mask fragment was easy to see, it was a snowflake on her left cheek, opposite of where the green haired one had her mask fragment. This sister was about twenty one like the green haired one. She seemed to be much more reserved than the other sisters and her clothing matched it. Being a conservative dress from a time long ago. He could tell that her eyes were a light blue, like fresh frozen snow. He would enjoy eating her and getting rid of the stern look she had on her face.
Finally the last sister, and finally one that made him think a bit about what he was doing. This sister was much younger then all the rest, maybe a bit older than the one with brown hair, but not that much older. She had plenty of ribbons all over and her hair was a bright pink. Her mask fragment was actually a ribbon in her hair and she had blue eyes. Her clothing reflected her childish nature with it being a small jacket and a pink mini skirt. She was adorable, so adorable that he wanted to eat her up. She seemed to be rather bossy towards the other eight and even looked like she was giving out the orders. If that was true then he would eat her first.
So there they were the nine strange arrancar sisters that were before him. Each one worthy of becoming a meal for him and each one would become a meal. It was all a matter of which one to strike at first. He couldn't decide which would be the best to eat first. It seemed as if they all were weak enough that it wouldn't matter, but then again he never knew the truth about these arrancars. He had been shocked twice tonight to see that his scarabs were killed by some sort of electrical power and yet he wasn't afraid. No matter how many died he could always make more.
He wondered why these nine showed up here, but that didn't matter right now, these nine would become his meal. It's as if someone had shoved the nine arrancars to be a sacrifice to him. If that was the truth then he had to give someone his grace, but he wouldn't find out just spying on the females from above. No he had to go and hunt them down one by one to find out the truth. If he did find out or not wasn't a big deal. If someone was giving him sacrifices then he would continue to send them as a loyal servant would do and eventually he would be rewarded. If no one wasn't then it was a happy coincidence for him.
As he continued to watch them he saw a chance, a chance to strike and take one out. The one he worried about the most. The female with bright yellow hair. She had strayed too far away from the rest of them and was within range for him to leap down and kill her without her being able to get away. The group had started to slowly spread out as if they were looking for something. It didn't matter to Asim what they were doing or why they were here all that matter is that right now he had a chance. A chance that he was going to take without fear of failure.
He dropped down from above her. His swarm of scarabs still coating his skin and flying around his body. The moment he landed his head moved forward and his mouth opened up to bite down on the neck of the female arrancar. It was a quick motion, if she had seen him he was sure that she could of stopped his attack, but she didn't no none of them had seen him lurking in the shadows and that was what sealed their fate. His jaws snapped shut and he ripped her head clean off of her body. Swallowing her head whole he roared out at the other eight arrancars.
All of them had the same look in their eyes, the look of fear. He loved that look, he knew what it meant. It meant that he had taken out the strongest of the nine and the rest were weaklings. He eyed them as he slowly consumed the rest of the yellow haired female. As he took another bite the brown haired one screamed out in terror. It seemed like that scream made the others react. They all ran off, separating into groups of two or by themselves. All except for the brown haired female. She continued to scream out and cry. The deep blue haired one tried to get her to move but it didn't work it seemed like she wasn't going to go anywhere at all. That suited him just fine. He was happy to eat her after he had finished off the rest of her sister.
However while he ate this arrancar something odd was filling the back of his mind. A feeling of joy. No not the same kind that he had when he was eating something or when his scarabs proved their dominance over someone else. This feeling was different. This was happiness, true happiness. Not the joy of harming others, but just being happy for being alive and existing. This strange feeling was filling his mind and his soul. Why was this happening? Why was he feeling like this from eating an arrancar. He had eaten them before and never felt this way before. Was this one special? It didn't matter right now his hunger was still there and he needed more .
As he finished off the feet of the yellow haired one he turned his attention to the youngest one that hadn't run away. No it seemed like she was overtaken by fear, the fear of watching her sister become his meal. Asim spoke to her, his voice was gruff and echoed from under the skin of the scarabs. “Asim will accept this sacrifice. You shall become part of Asim.” As he stepped forward the ground under him turned to sand. Slowly he made his way to the female. He raised his arm to swipe at her, but before he could he felt something block his strike. It was the blade of one of the sisters. The red head had stopped his strike.
“Run, run away.” She cried out to her sister who was still sitting on the ground to run, it seemed like it was no use, but as she continued to cry out the brown haired one shook her head and stood up running away into the darkness. Asim was angry, he roared at the red head for letting his meal escape from his grasp. His attention was now at this girl who thought it would be a good idea to try to attack him while he was going to feast. Her blade had stopped his attack, but it wouldn't stay like that for long. No he already knew what was going to happen.
While she continued to press the blade against the skin of scarabs he had around him it was being attacked. Attacked by the very scarabs she was trying to cut. They were biting the blade that she had, slowly tearing apart the metal that she had pressed against his skin. It was useless to try to cut his skin and she was about to learn that fact first hand. It didn't take long before the blade snapped under the stress of constantly being attacked by his scarabs. Asim laughed as he saw her face drop the rage she had and it turned into fear. Fear that she was about to become food for him, just like her sister did moments before.
The moment she saw her blade shatter she tried to run away. She tried to move her legs to make her run, but it was useless. Her knees broke off and she fell to the floor. She started to panic and look around for something to defend herself with, but the only thing around her was sand. She grasped at the sand as she tried to crawl away. Looking down at her legs she saw what had happened. She saw why her legs had failed her and why they snapped off. She saw her blood spilling onto the sand and turning the white sand a bright red. There by her kneecaps were Asim's scarabs eating away at her body.
While she had been trying to push against his skin and cut him his scarabs had begun their work all over her body. They were attacking her in all of her joints and eating away at the flesh that she had that kept it together. It was her own fault for not paying attention that allowed them to chew through so much of her flesh that resulted in her own doom. She was now bleeding to death in the desert without a sign of rescue anywhere to be seen. Realizing this she screamed out in what he thought was terror, but it was wrong, no it felt like the cries were ones of sadness not fear. Either way her screams filled Asim with joy. “Hush my sacrifice, you will become part of Asim now.” His tone was soft and his voice low as he leaned in.
With a quick bite he ripped off a large chunk of flesh and swallowed it whole. She died there, screaming and begging for help, help that would never come. It was easy to hunt these females down. They were weak. Weaker than him and he was so hungry, so very hungry for new food. Had they stuck together the result might be different, but now they were all lambs and he was the butcher. He would make short work of all of them. Enjoying each bit of perfection of them, eating a family was so much fun.
As he took the last bite there it was again, a feeling that he didn't have before. This time it was a sense of bravery. This felt wrong to him, he didn't know why he was getting these notions of bravery. He wasn't a brave person. He would never admit it, but he was a bit of a coward. Hiding behind his scarabs and using them to make his hunts easier. Yet now he was filled with the notion to go out and be bold. He hated this feeling as it seeped into his core. These arrancars were different than most, yet they tasted so sweet he couldn't stop from eating them.
Now what to do, there were still seven little arrancars to eat, each one different from the last. Which to choose which to choose? The answer was simple, go after the one that was the closest to him. The smallest brown haired one had run off and she was hiding somewhere, but he sensed it. Two of them were still nearby and they were together. As he finished the last bits of the red head he moved out. Slowly stalking his prey from a distance. While he couldn't track them exactly, they weren't hiding their reiatsu. Something that would prove to be their downfall.
He kept his slow pace as he walked towards where the two where hiding. His scarabs making short work of anything that stood in his way. That was till he came up to a wall. He could sense it, his meal was right behind this wall and they had no clue what was about to happen. With a smile his scarabs started to rapidly destroy the wall. It crumbled before his might. This was the truth of the world. Everything made by man was doomed to fall to the whim of a god and right now his whim was to tear down a wall and feast on those behind it.
When the wall crumbled he saw his prey before him. Both of them were hugging one another and scared. It was the black haired one and the light pink haired one. It seemed that the both of them had wanted to comfort the other, well that was sweet. However it wouldn't save them from his hunger. He smiled as they screamed out at the sight of him. Both of them tried to crawl away while on their rears as Asim slowly crept out of the hole he had created in the wall. He licked his lips at both of them. They were shaking and terrified of what was about to happen and he loved that.
They didn't resist at all as he towered over the both of them. They simply submitted to his attack. He wasn't a god without mercy no. He stopped for a moment and spoke. “Asim will allow you to say your final words.” Both of the arracnars said nothing, but instead chose to embrace one another as sisters. The sight of it was sweet, but not sweet enough to remove the hunger that he had. While they were in one another's arms he bit down on their necks. Killing both of them at the same time. Making it a quick and rather painless kill.
While he ate the two of them he felt something strange once more. A sense of love, something that he hadn't felt in a very long time. It was an odd feeling to have. More so as he continued to eat the arracnars he felt that there was a bond that those two shared that was deeper than the other sisters had. He wasn't sure why he was getting this from the two corpse as he ate them, but it was fine if feeling this emotion was the result of eating these two so be it. It wouldn't change him at all... or would it?
Even as a human he rarely felt the actual emotion of love. He had felt lust, pleasure, joy, but not love. Love was something that escaped him. While he had times where he felt a small fragment of it, it was never as powerful as it was when eating these two. This feeling slowly started to take hold in the void where his heart was. He wouldn't know it at the time, but eating those two would slowly start to change who he was. Was it a gift from those two to him? Or a curse? Like the others only time would tell if he would embrace these feelings that he had received or discard them. He had a feeling though that these wouldn't be the last ones he would receive.
Before he could think too much longer on those thoughts his stomach growled once more. His hunger was never sated. He was once more ready for more prey. Getting a feeling for where the rest were he found one nearby. She wasn't moving, no it looked like she was standing still. This was good, it meant he had the advantage of taking her on from the best angle. Leaving the alleyway he slowly crept his way towards where he felt the lone female was staying.
As he approach her he saw which one it was. The blue haired female, she was there just sitting in the middle of the street with her blade laid across her lap. There was nothing around her that he could use as cover so he stopped and waited to see what would happen. However it seemed like the female had sensed that he was there. “Come on out hollow. I can sense you're there. You've already killed four of my sisters. I felt their deaths as they happened. I am here to end this.” Asim scowled it seemed as if he had to fight her head on, so be it.
He came out of the shadows and into the light of street he kept an eye on this arrancar. She wasn't running nor did she give any signs of attacking. No she just sat there waiting for him. It was strange to see her do this. Never had he seen someone just sit there and accept their fate. Slowly he made his way closer to her. His scarabs slowly biting parts of her flesh off. Her face showed signs of pain, but she didn't react or scream. This one was odd, she felt pain. He could see that, but she didn't react to it at all. Well if that was the case then he would just take his free meal gladly.
His mouth opened wide as he bit down on the torso of the blue haired female. His eyes looked up and caught her with a smile across her face as he bit down on her flesh. Ripping away a large chunk of her torso meant the end for her. She was dead and now he was chewing on a rather large chunk of her flesh. He was baffled by what this female allowed him to do. She didn't put up a fight as he came to kill her. Was this what she meant by ending it? Did she not want to feel the deaths of the others? Whatever the reason was he had a meal and was now swallowing the chunks of her flesh.
As he did there was this sense of peace flowing over his entire body. He felt rather calm and collected. What he didn't know is just like her sister something was flowing out of the arrancar into him. A sense of tranquility. He rather enjoyed feeling like this. Feeling a one with the world around him, to feel that nothing would ever be wrong. It's as if he was one with the world and reaching a higher level of existence. Something that he as a god should have. He gladly accepted this feeling, without knowing that it was doorway to letting the others in as well.
Five down, four to go. There were only four of these sisters left and they were all hiding from him still. He laughed as he knew the futility of doing so. When he wanted something he would take it. No matter what got in his way. That is how a god was, nothing made by the hands of the mortals would ever stand in his way. A god had the power to wash it all away at a moments notice. These arrancars were nothing to him. Insignificant ants that he would make his meal. What they hid behind was no better than wet cardboard to him.
Asim started to climb up the wall of a building that was in front of him. The other four he couldn't sense at all. So he had to track them down by looking for them. Annoying, didn't they know better than to hide from Asim? They are Asim's sacrifice they belong to Asim and inside of Asim. His hands dug into the stone as his scarabs turned bits of the building into sand. Upon reaching the roof he spotted another one of the sisters. The one with dark green hair. She was alone and looking for something. Her hands were together and from what he could tell her expression was that of being afraid.
His grin was wide now. He knew that if she was afraid she would make a mistake and that mistake would allow him to win. Allow him to kill her and eat her just like the rest of her sisters. However she was still far away and he needed to approach her with care. He knew better than to charge head first into someone who's afraid. If she saw him he had a feeling that she would run and given their distance he wouldn't be able to catch up. So instead of running head first to her he jumped to the roof of another building and slowly cycled around her till he reached a rooftop that was close by her. She would have no way of knowing what was about to happen. So often many of them didn't. They couldn't tell when the wolf was ready to pounce on the lamb.
Jumping down she never stood a chance, he leapt on top of her. Using his weight to pin her down as his scarabs swarmed around her body biting her from all sides. He heard her screams of terror and smiled as he bit down on her shoulder ripping out a sizable chunk of her flesh out of her body. He didn't kill her right away though. No he wanted to hear and relish the screams of terror that filled the night air. While most couldn't hear it, those with spiritual awareness could. She begged and pleaded for help as he continued to eat parts of her body. Not caring about how much pain he was causing her by prolonging her death.
Biting down on her head was what finally killed her. Her voice had been extinguished, silenced like so many others before her, however she would leave him with a parting gift like her sisters did before her. This time however Asim wasn't able to shake it off. This was a feeling of fear. Overwhelming fear about everything around himself. In a frenzy he let out a roar trying to remove this feeling from his own body, but he couldn't. He backed off of the half eaten corpse of the female and allowed his scarabs to finish off the rest as he huddled himself into a corner. He was afraid,he didn't know why he was but he didn't like this feeling at all.
Fear had been something that he had long forgotten about. There were moments when he did feel it, but never like this. Never something that for a lack of better words crippled him to the point where he was hiding not for stalking but out of protection. This feeling was wrong and he wanted no part of it at all. There he stood in the corner surrounded by his scarabs waiting for this to pass as the others did. That's when out in the streets he saw her. The one with light blue hair. She was just walking in the center aimlessly. His stomach rumbled as he saw her. His hunger was telling him to go, to chase after this one and eat her, but the fear was keeping him back. Keeping him trapped in the alleyway.
So for now he only watched as she continued to walk around. She was moving without purpose, without reason or logic. She was alone, so vulnerable, yet he couldn't strike out at her yet. The fear was keeping him trapped, trapped like a dog. He watched as she slowly wandered closer and closer to him. He didn't know why she was heading this way, but it was good for his hunger. Maybe she had seen him and was offering herself to him. That wasn't the actual case. She hadn't seen him and was running there to avoid being spotted.
There in the darkness of the alleyway he smiled. The fear was washing away as his hunger grew the closer she drew to him. In the shadows he watched her. Till it was too late for her. She saw a few scarabs around her, then the blood on the ground. Before she could piece two and two together he lunged at her. Pinning her down to the ground. She screamed out in terror. The feeling of fear he had was now long gone. Replaced by an unending hunger. She had no way of getting out, he felt her squirm under him as he leaned over her. His mouth salivating as he prepared to take his first bite of her. 46
His mouth was soon filled with a mixture of her blood and flesh as clenched down on her neck. From the angel he was biting down on her neck he could look into her eyes. What he saw made him feel great. Her eyes were filled with a mix of fear and emptiness. To see that he was causing fear and not being one paralyzed by it was something that he needed to know. After being trapped by that emotion he wanted to feel freedom from it. With eating this arrancar he would feel that freedom from fear, but be trapped by something just as bad.
As he ate more and more of this light blue haired arrancar he felt something was off. He was feeling distant. As if he was alone in this world. He knew that wasn't the case, he had his scarabs. Looking up at them his mouth hung wide open. When had they gotten so far away from him? He saw them, not as close protectors and carriers of his will, but as distant flakes that were getting further and further away from him.
He became angry as he tried to command them to come back, but it seemed as if they didn't listen to him. They didn't come closer, no they were leaving going away. Letting out a roar he ordered them to come back to him. To coat his body and be his shield once more. Yet they didn't come close. To him his scarabs were leaving him, however this was all in his head. In reality his scarabs weren't flying off away from him and his body was still covered in the scarab skin he had before. No this was the gift the blue haired one had for him. Lonesomeness, the feeling of being alone.
In his human life he had felt this feeling before, but as a god awakened he had never come across this feeling. No, he had never felt alone. He always had his scarabs to keep him company, but now he was feeling the truth. His scarabs were mindless beasts that followed his will. They weren't companions, they weren't someone who he could interact with. For the first time since he had become a hollow he understood the nature of his power. To keep everyone at bay and keep himself safe. He was pushing everyone away, everything away from him. His stomach growled still not sated with the seven arrancars he had eaten, no his hunger demanded that he eat more.
This was always the case, with every hollow their hunger could only be satisfied for a bit of time. His hunger when he spotted prey never seemed to settle. Not until he made sure that every single target was eaten. Slowly he wandered out of the alleyway and back onto the main streets. Looking for one of the last two arrancars that should be around. As he walked he noticed the people all in the streets. Even at this late hour the streets were still full of life. So many of them seemed happy being with someone else. Something he didn't have, it was at this time he started to wonder about what it meant to be a god.
Being a god was great, but it was lonely. There was never anyone his equal to be around. All those he saw were either fodder for his scarabs or his servants. He was without an equal, those that were around him were lesser creatures than him. Those that claimed to be strong were rather weak. No one was worthy of standing by his side. With his mind filled with those thoughts he started to head back, trying to find a garganta being opened so he could return to the sands. Even if his hunger was calling out to him to consume more right now he just wanted to sink back into the sands. To become one with them like he was use to.
He had wandered almost to the area that he had first entered into the world of the living when he saw them. The last two arrancars, they were running together. The pink harried one was carrying the one with brown hair. From what he could tell they were both injured, but by what? As they continued to run he saw what was chasing them. A strange shingami, he was much older than the ones he had eaten before. His face was scared and horribly burned. This man was an insult to beauty everywhere. It pained Asim's eyes to look at this shingami. “Asim will not allow such ugliness to live on.” He screamed out as he ran after the man.
Normally he wouldn't of bothered with this man, but the fact that he was going after his prey was unforgivable. The man's face being so ugly was another sin he had. As a god Asim knew that it was time to collect on the man's sins. His punishment would be a swift death. As he got closer to the shingami his scarabs started to do their work. Slowly they started to eat away at the man's flesh. The small bites quickly added up, while the man was so engrossed with chasing the arrancars he didn't notice that parts of his body were already gone. With a heavy step the man's leg came off, falling to the ground the man looked back and saw what was going on. Thousands of scarabs were slowly eating him, and behind him was Asim getting closer and closer with each step.
The shingami screamed out in a mix of terror and joy as he used the sheath of his blade as a cane. It seemed as if the shinigami was expecting to fight Asim in a duel to the death. However Asim wasn't going to waste his time with this man, no he had something else in his mind. Gone was the feeling of being alone, replaced with the joy of easy prey. Asim rushed passed the man, jumping over the shingami to avoid his strike. He let his scarabs eat the man. It was a painful process as the man was turned to sand before his very eyes. The pain from thousands of scarabs biting him at once would be unbearable. The man would pass out before he died, but that wasn't any of Asim's concern.
Now Asim was on the trail of the two female arracars. There was a trail of blood that he could follow with ease. It seemed as if one was really hurt, that would be the one he would let live for now while the stronger one would be his first meal. He continued his full on pursuit as he watched it turn into an alleyway, one that was a dead end. There he found both girls, the pink haired one still had the younger brown one on her back. They had come to a dead end and didn't know what to do. He was in luck, it seemed as if neither one wanted to abandon the other to try to escape. He knew that if the pink haired one dropped the younger arrancar she could make it over the wall, however it looked like that wouldn't be the case.
With his prey trapped he slowly walked down the alleyway. Licking his lips as he got closer to them. The one who was bleeding was the younger brown one. It seemed as if she had taken a big hit from the shingami. They were both afraid, but he knew they wouldn't have to be for long. Soon they would become part of him forever, part of a god. This should make them happy, they were going to become pillars of his power. Even if they didn't know it, these two would become important to Asim. Not because they would push him to the next level, but what they would leave him with. All nine sisters had left something to Asim, the most important gift he would get would be from these two however.
His jaws opened wide as he took a bite out of both of them. He killed them quickly as his hunger commanded to be filled. He didn't even give them time to try to beg. No he wanted this to be done with. These sisters had been a pain for him to deal with the after affects of eating them. As he ate them it seemed as if these two didn't have the same effect on him as the others did. Little did he know that they did. Unlike the emotions passed on by their sisters the two that they gave to him were more subtle. Compassion and humility. He quickly devoured the rest of the two, before hearing the signs of a hollow breaking back into this world. He smiled knowing that his ticket home was here.
He would leave this hunting grounds forever changed. The sisters had done something that he didn't know about. They had not only forced him to experience emotions for a brief moment, but also granted him insight into how they worked. Only time would tell if Asim would be able to use this to better himself or turn himself into a monster. Time was the factor here, if Asim chose to embrace these things he felt then it would allow him a power greater than he had currently, equally if he rejected these things he would gain something that would allow others to truly fear him as a god. Time would tell which path he would take.
Nine class 7 arrancars. THREAD END
