So this is how it will be, huh?

The Bount Leader’s eyes narrowed when he felt the reiatsu surge around the young woman standing before him. He felt the volume of that reiatsu and recognized what it was being used for. He knew what was coming as soon as he sensed her reiatsu flare. With his senses and energy sensory kicking into overdrive, he scanned all around him as the fireflies began appearing. Little blips appeared one by one within his energy sensory all around him. She had summoned her doll, and from the size of the area it covered, it appeared to be similar to Hitze. It was a field type doll and most likely possessed an ability that affected a large area. With his battle analysis, honed from more than 3 centuries of battle, he understood just what her summoning this doll meant. She controls this area now… Underneath the mask, Anarchy smirked. Underneath that faceless white mask, Anarchy smirked because he knew that this was a tactic he would have employed in such an enclosed space. It was quite an effective strategy after all. Now, with her doll surrounding the area, she had an advantage. This meant he would need to be careful.

The Bount’s body flooded with reiatsu, and for a split second, the cloak’s mechanism was shut off as his own Bount reiatsu flared and a powerful aura of intimidation was released from his body. It was an intimidation that would cause even Alice herself to feel fear and a sense of nakedness before a being as powerful as Anarchy, a Bount that outclassed her so much that his power was in a dimension of its own. She would feel his true reiatsu clearly now, since it was no longer shielded by that cloak or willfully suppressed. His Bount reiatsu flared in anticipation of what was to come as soon as those blue flames and shockwaves burst from the yoyo he had attacked with. Damn…there goes that one… He had just lost a perfectly good yoyo, which he was going to make her pay for. But for now, he needed to get away from the force of that explosion and those blue flames surging towards him.

Golden reiatsu covered his body immediately, shielding it in a bubble of reiatsu that expanded out a few feet. With its expansion, the intimidating aura increased, pressing down on Alice and even the approaching Arrancar, Plan Z, Yetsuna, and even Himitsu despite their distance. They would all feel instinctive fear in the face of such raw, intimidating power produced by an aura like Ken.That was how powerful Anarchy’s reiatsu was. He attempted to stop himself during that charge and launch backwards as the flames rushed out, but without Ken, he would not be escaping unscathed. With Ken, the flames and shockwaves only forced him back, where they were unable to do further damage. Those shockwaves may have rattled him a little, but he wasn’t going to be defeated by that alone. The pieces of the yoyo which had been reflected back to him by that explosion were also repulsed by the golden reiatsu emanating from his body.

He landed on the balls of his feet, and skid back until he found himself coming to a stop. In his skid, the broken end of the metal wire returned to his vambrace. It appeared that the explosion had torn the yoyo’s string right off of the vambrace hook. But as long as it hadn’t destroyed the vambrace, he was fine. Wait, he couldn’t worry about that right now. The woman had insulted him and was already aiming a pistol at him. With Ken active, he didn’t necessarily need to dodge, and he didn’t. Instead, he watched as the bullets ricocheted off of his powerful golden reiatsu. There was no way she was going to just keep shooting at him. She had seen his defense which could easily reflect her attacks. That was when he realized that she had another goal. The bullets were a distraction, a set-up really. A set-up for something bi- Bloody hell… Flames and shockwaves exploded around him and he was blasted back towards the entrance, landing on his side. He had realized it too late. She didn’t care about hitting him. That would have just been a bonus. She was setting him up to be close enough to one of those…shining entities. And when a bullet deflected by Ken pierced them, he would be caught in the ensuing explosion. Quite a clever plan, but it wasn’t one that would work against the Bount Leader for long.

With Ken dispersing, he stood up tall and faced down the woman once more. Dirt and debris from the explosion were clearing at that moment, and when they did, Alice would find the Bount mercenary standing before her with a tattered cloak, its functionality now destroyed by the explosions he had been hit by. Beneath the tattered cloak, he wore a black vest over a crisp white shirt with a skinny black tie, black pants, and matching tall black boots. Had Ken not been active, he would have taken more damage than just a ripped cloak, a thought which made him decide that he needed to take things more seriously now. ”You can’t say I didn’t warn you..” he threatened with a hiss. Next, two things happened. One was the powerful surge of reiatsu which Anarchy released from his body as a result of his activation of that technique. Gate would increase his spiritual abilities to levels that Alice would be unable to reach even after use of the same technique. Those explosions broke through Ken, but with only half my strength, I should have expected that. In order to end this right now, I’m going to need to increase my strength. After that, he activated a second technique, one of his most iconic. It was a technique he had found himself able to use as a result of the powerful connection he had formed with his doll. It was the technique that he had been documented using during his battle with the Vizard at the Senzaikyu Prison breakout.

Hitzewelle…

There was an incredible surge in his reiatsu. The Bount mercenary lifted a gloved right hand, aiming it towards the female Bount before him and for a split second, the air before the Bount mercenary appeared to shimmer and refract. It was just for a second and then without warning, a huge tidal wave of orange gas burst forth. The tidal wave which covered the entire expansion of that underground cavern rushed forward with incredible speed (400), forcing its way through the fireflies to reach her. On its way, the wave of heat washed over any fireflies in its path, turning their exteriors to ash, which would result in the release of those blue flames and explosions once more. Unfortunately, those explosions wouldn’t be strong enough to disperse the mist. That orange gaseous mist, which was currently on its way towards the female Bount, was essentially heat given a physical form, which meant that it would only be strengthened by the heat from the explosions that occurred in its wake. Moving along the ground and across the ceiling, it turned whatever it touched to ash. Any rocks and debris that were in its path were quickly turned to ashes as well.

By the time Hitzewelle would reach, it would have destroyed all or at most a majority of her doll. If the entire doll was destroyed by that Hitzewelle, Alice would experience the incredible pain that came with the death of a doll. And if Alice didn’t escape herself, she would be submitted to the same fate as her doll. Of course, there always was the option of escaping backwards down the platform the Bount saw behind her before all of the fireflies making up her doll were destroyed. He wasn’t expecting her to die at the hands of his Hitzewelle. No, he was expecting her to live, but in pain. He was expecting her now to understand the difference in their power and to understand why she should have stepped aside when he had asked initially. The Bount mercenary did not like hurting his own kind like this, but it was a measure that had to be taken to make Oase reality. She would understand if she knew what his purpose was. But this way, he would not have to kill her. This way, he could keep his promise to Nathan and keep her from engaging him a second time. If she did, he was not sure if he could avoid killing her with his next attack. For now, he would watch and wait and would use Push to do so. The aura surrounded his body instantly, extending off his skin. Soon, he would need to bring in his main body. Because of the drain that came with using Hitze’s techniques from his own body, this one would not last much longer.

Hitze, are your Hitzewelle always this draining? the Bount questioned his doll.

No master, you’re just rusty…leave the Hitzewelle to me. came the doll’s blunt response.

That’s why we work well together, Hitze. You don’t beat around the bush…

Yetsuna eyeballed the crystal covered mass of brawn sizing him up and trying to think of ways to deal with. So far he had proven resilient to almost everything she had done, but at the same time she could feel the reaitsu coming off of him getting weaker. He had to be near the end of his rope, if she kept up the pressure she could likely make him burn whatever he had left before he could beat her down. It was a bit of a gamble, but it was likely the best strategy she had for the moment unless she got lucky and something she did finally managed to stick.

The man chuckled to himself while Himitsu and the other guy got ready to square off too. It would have been fun to watch the two of them go at it, but she was gonna have her hands full dealing with her guy. She taunted the man, inviting him to attack her, but he remained where he was, it seemed he wanted her to make the first move, meaning her likely had a trick up his sleeve. From behind her some of the sand floated upwards before separating into two pieces the first one a sword, muhc like her unreleased zanpaktou, the other made a shield, large enough to protect her entire torso if she placed it in front of her. The two weapons quickly zipped to her side and she took them in hand.

Just after she had wrapped her hands around her weapons she felt a wave of reaitu wash over her, but it wasn't her enemies. No, this was a HELL of a lot stronger, and it immediately sent a chill down her spine. Yetsuna was a brave person, she rarely flinched from facing someone stronger then her, case in point the dude across for her, but this was something else entirely. This reaitsu almost felt on par with a god compared to her own, and her only thought when she felt it was to avoid whatever the hell it was that gave it off. It took her a good moment to recover from the shock of the reaitsu washing over her, but she returned to the battle field with a shake of her head. She needed to focus, she couldn't afford the distraction.

Even though she had made herself weapons she had no intention of charging in, they just gave her some extra combat ability in case he somehow managed to close the distance between the two of them. "Alrighty then, I guess I'll go first," she said in a relaxed tone before her entire supply of sand charged forward and began to bull rush the man. It moved at around 800 speed, closing the distance between the two of them in an instant. If the man didn't move it would also collide with the man with the same amount of force, though the amount of mass behind it would make it hurt a hell of a lot more.

The green haired woman had no expectation that her attack would really work, or any an effect if it did. It was more meant to make if react, to do something that would place him in a position that she could exploit. She just had to keep the pressure on, if she could do that she could tire him out, making him an easier target or forcing him to concede. If he was an easier target its be easier to cripple or kill him and if he surrendered, well she'd just pin him under enough earth to turn a coal into a diamond.

It happened when Himitsu was mid-punch. He was prepared to make his fight against Plan Z physical when, out of no where, both he and the rogue froze in their tracks. Himitsu had faced fearsome opponents, but the terror that struck him was superior to anything he had faced before. He had made a mistake following the criminals to Hueco Mundo, as had Yetsuna. A mistake, but a necessary one. Even if he was in over his head, there was no one else to stop the cycle of death represented by those illegal weapons.

The bald rogue took advantage of Jin’s distraction, suddenly compressing and releasing the air around him to send Himitsu flying backward, his body slamming into the wall of the tunnel. He certainly had a broken bone or two from the impact, but Himitsu wasn’t out of the fight just yet. It’s over, he thought grimly to himself as he struggled to his feet. They could defeat Plan Z, but the real enemies were up above. They didn’t stand a chance against the likes of Anarchy, Gold, the other Bount, and the Arrancar.

Yetsuna sent the wave of sand toward the other member of Plan Z, and at first, it seemed to force him to retreat. He turned his back to Yetsuna, appearing to run away. However, just before the sand caught him, the man’s crystals suddenly exploded into a wall of golden shards speeding toward Yetsuna. They cut through her sand, clearly showing some form of superiority over Yetsuna’s release. If she couldn’t put up a defense strong enough, the woman would suffer heavy damage similar to that caused by shrapnel in a bomb. Dodging would be difficult since the attack extended in a wide cone. If Himitsu wasn’t on the ground, he too would have been in harm’s way. He wouldn’t be able to rise and protect Yetsuna in time, so it’d be up to her to save her own skin.

Meanwhile, Gold stayed close to the entrance of the underground compound, waiting for an opportunity to pass between Anarchy and the Bount as they faced off against one another. Interestingly, the Arrancar within the facility was waiting on the other end of the passageway for the same reason. The only barrier to a large-scale battle was the narrow nature of the tunnel and the battle between the Bounts within it.

So far, the explosions were successful in slowing Jin down. The woman was hoping that her combo had reduced Anarchy to ashe, but he survived the explosions without losing any more than a single layer of clothes. “Is that suit practical? It doesn’t really make sense to fight in, but you do you. If you’re not careful, it’ll be blown off just like the cloak.”

Alice certainly was cocky, but that confidence diminished the moment Anarchy began channeling his reiatsu once more. She could feel the class 0 technique forming, one that she couldn’t hope to counter in a direct fight. Just as the heat wave spawned, the glow of her fireflies diminished and Alice slipped through the newly formed shadows to the inside of the compound as quickly as she could. She would barely make it before the heat wave made it to the first firefly, when-

BOOM!

Each firefly that touched the heat wave immediately erupted in blue flames. These explosions, however, were different. Before, the explosions had little effect on the actual tunnel. It was almost like they passed right through the stone. Now, however, they compromised the integrity of the passageway. The stone walls and ceiling collapsed in, and unless Jin could move quickly enough, his clone would be caught in the debris. With his clone’s lower instinct, it wasn’t likely that he could slip into the shadows and escape before the light of the explosions vanquished the shadows.

Himitsu, are you sure this is the best way?

Yes, Flex. I can’t rely on a victory, so I have to make sure the other side loses at least.

BOOM!

Both explosions happened simultaneously. As Alice collapsed the tunnel leading into the compound, Himitsu’s spells exploded upon contact with the ceiling of the entire compound. He sent three blasts of fire, two spread out over Plan Z’s half of the warehouse and one targeting the elevated platform that held the other two criminals. The spells were enough to cause the roof to crumble, leading large pieces of concrete to rain down on all those below.

Yetsuna and Himitsu would be safe thanks to a large golden barrier that formed around them, protecting a third of the warehouse. Plan Z was less lucky, with much of their reiatsu expended, it was all they could manage to keep themselves alive. The crystal man hardened his reiatsu around him once more to keep the stones from crushing his body. The wind rogue could only repel the rocks from his body for a brief moment, lessening the impact to the point where his own muscle strength protected him.

The stunt Himitsu pulled was only partially successful. About a quarter of the illegal items were destroyed, but the rest were simply buried under a layer of rock. He still had a job to carry through. Himitsu summoned a hell butterfly and began speaking into it. “This is Vice Captain Himitsu Misute. Send a rescue team to my location immediately to pick up Fourth Seat Yetsuna Yishnir. I require heavy reinforcements. Please send as many captains and lieutenants as available.”

And with that, he sent the butterfly away. However, his urgent attitude became more somber when he turned to Yetsuna. “Listen to me. I’m going to be honest. These guys are way more powerful than you can handle right now. Than I can handle. But it’s our responsibility as Shinigami to stop them from getting those weapons out of here. So, you can stay safe for a few more minutes until the rescue team can get you out or you can stay here and fight with me. Maybe even die with me.”

Himitsu was trying to keep his voice level and calm, but Yetsuna would pick up on the cold steel in her superior’s voice. He was angry at himself and at the enemies beyond his barrier. There was no hiding it. But did she share his passion? “In the end, there’s only one question you have to answer. What matters more to you, your life or your obligation for justice? I need an answer right now.”

Himitsu’s plan to bring down the platform that the Bount and Arrancar stood on didn’t go the way he wanted. While he was distracted with saving himself and Yetsuna, Kayaku countered Himitsu’s Shakkaho with a simple Bala, breaking through the fireball with its far superior offensive power. He had protected himself and his companion from falling with the rest of the compound’s structure. While the ceiling above them stayed in tact, the rest of the warehouse and the tunnel leading into it had collapsed.

In addition, both knew that Jin was a very powerful individual, and he wasn’t likely to get buried under rubble. “Kayaku, seal the passage a little more securely.” The Arrancar nodded. “Yes, Alice. And what of the Shinigami? Plan Z has been ineffective.” The woman smiled coyly. “I’ll take care of them myself.” Alice called the remaining thirty fireflies that had escaped the collapse of the tunnel to her, hiding them inside her skirt and coat.

She walked to the end of her platform, looking down at the pile of stones held up by Himitsu’s Danku. “Hey, Soul Reapers! Yoo hoo!” She called to them, whistling to make sure she had their attention. Her voice would come just at the end of Himitsu’s question to Yetsuna. “I hope you know that you’re out of luck. We don’t take kindly to your kind destroying our merchandise, so you’ll have to pay for it. This time, I’ll help deliver the consequences.”

As she spoke, Kayaku formed a layer of crystals over the rocks at the end of the tunnel to ensure that if the passage was dug up, an unpleasant surprise would be waiting for the uninvited guests. He then returned to Alice’s side just in time to see Plan Z unearth themselves with their strength. The wind man was bruised slightly, and the crystal rogue remained uninjured. Both, however, were furious.

“Don’t count us out yet, Alice.”

“We can still teach these two a lesson.”

“I’m tired of this,” Gold muttered in frustration outside the tunnel. “Time to take matters into my own hands.” The masked woman positioned herself at the edge of the hole looking into the underground warehouse. She saw Plan Z, Alice, Kayaku, and the Danku that protected the Shinigami below her. All were enemies, and none would receive mercy.

“Hey, girly, her grandfather, and the estranged twin uncles. This is your last chance. Give us the artificial zanpakuto or you won’t be around for much longer.” And her threat wasn’t empty. Gold was confident that with Jin on her side, they were easily the most powerful party present. The rest could put up a fight, but in the end, her victory was inevitable. “Douma asked for those weapons, and he’s going to receive them.”

It seemed like an even more intense conflict was going to break out once more, one that all present individuals were going to partake in. Well, almost all. Not long after Gold gave her final request, a small child with white hair and glowing blue eyes appeared beside her. He neither said nor did anything other than stand there and look at the destructive scene, tears spilling from his eyes like rivers.

Please, his voice sounded in the heads of both Himitsu and Yetsuna. Please leave now. I’m begging you.

Reiatsu exploded from the Bount mercenary very suddenly. As it did, the cloak’s mechanism was shut off and all around would sense the powerful Bount reiatsu which enveloped the area. Anarchy was now enraged. Anarchy was now enraged because he had lost patience with the mission. Anarchy was enraged because of the explosion which collapsed their only entrance into the warehouse. Bloodlust began seeping through, lacing that powerful reiatsu they would feel. It was threatening, menacing even. It told them that Anarchy was on a level that none of them could fight against. And he was about to be unleashed on all of them. Enough of this! I won’t let Oase die here because these blokes keep getting in my way.

First, the Bount saw his clone body attempt to escape the explosions which the Hitzewelle had caused. Before, the explosions had not harmed the walls and yet now, those mighty explosions had created enough force that the supporting structure of that cave had been destroyed. Maybe it had also been because the Hitzewelle had destroyed a larger amount of the female Bount’s doll. Either way, the clone suffered from that mistake. It could have found other ways to escape, that had been certain, but with the stamina drain from using a technique foreign to his own body and the use of Gate increasing that stamina drain, the clone was on borrowed time. It would need to deactivate Gate before using anything else, but that could not occur instantaneously. A instinctual response would have been to draw up some sort of barrier either with Ken or by using another doll technique, but both would be costly under Gate’s power.

Anarchy stood at the entrance of the cave when he saw the clone nod in his direction, a silent signal that the clone would let the main body take care of the rest. And then, just like that, the body was crushed under the falling debris and killed. The link between the two was cut off, and Anarchy’s double-vision granted by the clone was lost. That was when the Bount mercenary decided to take things more seriously. In an effort not to kill, the Bount had been taking things more lightly. Now, the time for “going easy” had passed. He would make anyone who got in his way suffer. He would make them all suffer. He would do his best not to kill them in order to keep his promise to Nathan, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to break them.

”Zeige dich, Hitze.” the Bount stated in a low voice. A golden yoyo, which suddenly appeared in his hand, was flicked towards the ground where it spun on the end of that string and hung there. It burst into golden reiatsu which dispersed into the air and then for a quarter of a mile around, the temperature skyrocketed from a cool 60 or 70 degrees Fahrenheit to an uncomfortable 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Anarchy moved towards Gold, having heard her yelling down into a newly formed crater. Good, there was another entrance. He had thought all was lost when the cave had been collapsed. But, when he got to the edge of that hole and peered down, what he saw did not please him. A quick scan of the interior of that crater saw most of the compound buried under rocks and rubble. ”If you blokes did anything to the shipments, I’m going to kill you.” the mercenary threatened in a tone that conveyed he was no longer playing around. He couldn’t see the shipments underneath all of the rubble. All he saw was destruction before him. It was very probable that the shipment had been damaged by the explosions.

”Gold, get the shipment. I’ll cover you and take care of them all…” the Bount stated boldly. Playtime was over, and he would show them the power of a True Bount. None below would know his true identity given his faked death almost 12-15 years ago. There were files stored somewhere in Soul Society on him, but who would have thought that Jin Yamada was still alive? Maybe Alice knew, given the many rumors spreading within the Bount community of Kassen Oro’s successor still being alive. And maybe she did not know. All of that would depend on how much interaction she had had with other Bount covens throughout Japan, Europe, and in the Americas. Either way, the power displayed by the mercenary before them would indicate that the stories of a Bount as powerful as Kassen Oro were true. The stories of another powerful Bount—an individual who was one of the strongest Bount that had appeared since Kassen Oro’s disappearance—were real.

Nathan, I will not kill them if they don’t get in my way. Oase must live…those shipments are the first step towards making it a reality. If he searched the Bount’s mind, Nathan would come to understand Anarchy’s fixation on that shipment. He would see Anarchy’s plan. He would understand that Anarchy was not doing this for selfish desire. He would see Anarchy’s plan, and he would come to understand. And maybe when he understood, he might even realize how important it was for Anarchy to obtain those illegal items. Not for Douma, but rather for the Bount. In order to create Oase, the oasis city that Bount could eventually call home.

Let’s go, Hitze. We’re not leaving here without that shipment.

As you wish, master.

”Go…” the Bount commanded, indicating to Gold that he was already beginning to cover her route towards the shipments. As she moved forward, she would find the air cooling around her. No longer would she feel the heat that the others had felt. Nathan too would suddenly feel cooler. She would also see the air around Alice, Plan Z, Kayaku, Yetsuna, and Himitsu begin to shimmer and refract as heat was pulled away from her and towards them. Suddenly, Alice, Kayaku, and Plan Z would find themselves being buffeted with a blast of chilling cold air, air which would cause some of the dirt and small pieces of rubble to blow towards them, threatening to blind them. Then, whether or not they protected themselves from the rubble and dirt, they would find 6 foot tall columns of heat, 4 in total, moving towards them with intense heat radiating off of each of them. The heat was so intense that they would feel it as the columns moved within two or three meters of them. For Hitmitsu and Yetsuna, who were beneath the kido shield, the mercenary was going to be patient. At least, until they emerged from the shield. For now, he would watch and wait. The moment they came out of hiding, he would pounce. He even prepared a defense for himself while he waited. A wall of heat was already forming around him, indicated by the shimmering air surrounding his body. Anyone who dared come close would be fried to a crisp. This was the power of the man that was one of the strongest Bount alive since Kassen Oro. This was Anarchy’s, no Jin Yamada’s power.

”If you blokes did anything to the shipments, I’m going to kill you.”

Those words sent chills down Himitsu’s spine, conflicting with the intense heat the forced beads of sweat to swim down forehead and face. Himitsu wasn’t the only one afraid of Anarchy. Plan Z suddenly lost their stupid grins. Even Kayaku looked apprehensive. Alice appeared as cheerful as always, but she too was sweating profusely. They were all certainly in danger. Outmanned and outgunned, there was no question who would win in a direct battle. Anarchy alone could destroy them all.

”Gold, get the shipment. I’ll cover you and take care of them all…” The woman nodded, descending into the warehouse. However, she never truly landed. Just before her feet hit the floor, she was propelled forward at lightning-fast speed of 2500. No one present would be able to keep up with her movement. The increase of speed was all thanks to Shunkassou, the hoho technique that created pockets of air for her feet to glide on. She zig-zagged between and over the rubble. In less than a second, two things would happen. Firstly, the crystal rogue would be no more. Gold didn’t punch him. She simply extended her fist outward as she moved, and the impact would shatter his chest, destroy his heart, and send him flying to the far wall where his body would shatter and dent the concrete. His crystal armor splintered as easily as his bones. The man would still be alive, just barely. But after no more than ten minutes, his wheezing breath would certainly fade into silence unless he received emergency medical assistance.

Next, Gold continued her route toward Kayaku, but as she was about to reduce him to the same pitiful state as the rogue, her plan fell apart. Gold’s fist would collide with a crimson shell of crystal that formed a protective sphere around Kayaku. Her incredible strength would not be enough to break the defense, her hand would be obliterated from the impact. She would send the sphere flying with Kayaku inside it, but ultimately, the trade was unfavorable.

However, the Arrancar wasn’t quite done. After colliding with the far wall, he’d allow the sphere to shatter into hundreds of tiny crystal shards, each of which transformed into tiny beams shaped like birds. While they resembled cero, they moved as bala with homing ability that let them chase Gold wherever she ran. While her Shunkassou would allow her to outrun the lasers, there was another problem. The sphere seemed to also act as a vector for crystal formation on her damaged hand, and so those crystals would erupt into a weak cero that would knock her backward and force her to lose balance. This technique was the Moon Step Cero, and so Gold’s body would be heavily scorched unless an ally could save her. The Arrancar would cry out in pain from using so many techniques back to back, but that was the price for eliminating Douma’s right hand.

As Gold and Kayaku had their exchange, Alice, with all her fireflies clinging onto her clothes, would propel herself up out of the warehouse using Movement to avoid the enormous heat pillars. “Yo, big bad guy in the mask, hold up a second!” She raised her arms as a sign of peace… or perhaps surrender. “What’s a strong handsome man like you care for all those crates? I’m curious, really. I’m just protecting them for the money, so I couldn’t give two shits and a snickerdoodle about them. I can’t say the same about my besties down there,” she said, nudging her head toward the conflict below, “so let me strike a deal with you. I’ll help you keep those sketchy amazon shipments down there while taking out the trash. In exchange, how about some cash for this pretty young lady?” Alice wore her sweet, innocent smile comfortably, and Anarchy would certainly be under the impression that she was confident in the current situation. Truth be told, every instinct in that woman’s head was screaming at her to run away as far and fast as possible. She hid it well, but Anarchy was the most terrifying thing she had ever experienced.

As chaos fell upon the compound, Nathan and Himitsu were detached from the world. Their eyes and senses registered the events occurring around them, and they were on high alert, but their attention was placed on their mental conversation.

I can’t leave. Not now. Not after everything I’ve been through. Images of death, violence, Kuroi, Douma, war, and pain flooded Nathan’s memory. He shuddered after only experiencing the agony second-hand. It doesn’t matter if I die here as long as I keep fighting people like Anarchy, those thugs, and everyone else that disregards peace and justice. Those are the bad guys! Even if you don’t want anyone to die, you’re still complicit in their actions by walking away. If you care so much about saving lives, help me stop them from getting those weapons out.

You don’t understand. I can feel your pain, Himitsu. I know who you are. You know who I am. As they communicated, the Liutenant would see fragments of Nathan’s past: lab experiments, a loving mother, stories of their father, sadness, loneliness, desperation, and hope. A lot of hope. But you don’t feel what they feel. Anarchy is a man. He is not a monster. He does bad things sometimes, but there’s good in all bad guys and there’s even some bad in the best people.

But that won’t change what they’ve done. What they will do. We have to stop these people, Nathan. We have to end them!

No, we have to change them. Run away from here with me, Himitsu. Anarchy won’t let anyone die. I trust him. We can save that poor rogue man too. I’ll talk to Anarchy when he gets those weapons about never using them. Maybe he can recylce them into something else. We can find a better solution. Let me teach you how to understand people like I can. There’s something missing inside you, Himitsu. You’ve known it for a very long time. I can feel it too. I’ll help you find what left that void, and together, we can change the world. We can make things better. We can turn bad guys good, but if you kill them, Himitsu, the little bit of bad inside you is going to get a tiny bit bigger. You’d be feeding the enemy you promised to fight.

Nathan desperately trying to convince Himitsu of his cause, but he could feel the hesitation in the Shinigami’s mind. All he could do was wait and hope. Patience was never the strong suit of a child like Nathan, but he made the best of hope, especially when it was all he had.

The brown-haired twin cried out on behalf of his wounded ally and sibling. Hatred for the terrifying bount boiled within him. If I can’t kill you, I’ll beat you some other way. While Alice, Kayaku, and the injured rogue were all far from their original locations that Anarchy targeted with his heat pillars, the other rogue was not. However, he also had dozens of crates around him, all of which carried artificial zanpakuto. With all the reiatsu he had remaining, he formed a sustainable wind current that would pick the creates up with a force of 700 and throw them into each of the pillars of heat. If his plan succeeded, he’d use Anarchy’s own attack to destroy hundreds of artificial bakkoto totaling up to about 60% of the entire inventory. With his heavy breathing, he watched his final plan unfold, acknowledging that this was the end for him. The rogue nodded to Kayaku as he ran with all the speed his tired body could muster toward his somewhat alive brother. He might be incinerated by Anarchy along the way, but his final act was to die with his family.

Anarchy watched from his perch above the ruined warehouse. He watched from his perch at the top of that caved in roof and eyed each and every one of his enemies. They were getting in his way. They were all getting in his way. They were hindering the formation of Oase. He could not allow it. He could not allow it. He would not allow it. Nothing would stop Oase from becoming reality...Nothing.

The Bount’s eyes glanced over at the crystal rogue who had been blasted away into a nearby wall. The man looked heavily damaged. It appeared he was even on the verge of death. The Bount could sense reiatsu, and he was sensing that the Rogue’s reiatsu was dwindling rapidly. Gold attacked again, but this time she was stopped by the Arrancar. I told her to focus on the shipment! I said that I would take care of them… Mentally groaning, the Bount grew quite annoyed with the woman choosing to ignore his direct order. Now she had gotten herself injured and wouldn’t be able to complete the task he had assigned her. Sighing out loud, the Bount realized that he was going to need to heal her with so many enemies around him if he wanted her help. It wasn’t something he couldn’t handle; rather, the problem was that it would be a nuisance. It would require splitting his attention. Hitze could take care of the others all by itself, but the Bount preferred to fight alongside his doll rather than separately from it because their teamwork was what made them strong.

It was at that moment, the female Bount decided to engage Anarchy. Initially, he thought she was being pretty ballsy by approaching him, that is until she spoke. She was giving up? She had finally come to understand the power of the Bount mercenary standing before her. But, he was not going to indulge her. He needed to heal Gold, retrieve the shipment, and leave before his True Bount instincts caused him to kill them all. As a True Bount, he relished this moment. With such powerful individuals here, his instincts were telling him to kill and to feed. Kill and feed. Kill them…and feed on th- He would not allow that. He would not allow those instincts to control him. He held them back, and focused on keeping his promise to Nathan. Oase will be more than just a dream…I will give everything to make it reality.

Master, go ahead and obtain the shipment. I will hold them back for you.

At that moment, the other half of Plan Z was making his move. Taking a gamble, the rogue decided to try and destroy some of the shipments using the attacks that had been approaching him. What came next would be quite shocking for the Rogue. He didn’t know that the attack didn’t come from the Bount mercenary directly. He didn’t know that the Bount had a silent partner in this battle, one who could think and formulate plans on its own. The doll would not be foiled by the desperate attempt. Just like that, the cyclones burst into a fine, steamy mist and were gone as quickly as they had formed. The columns dispersed into the mist of water vapors that had formed them. With the heat being used to manipulate the air removed, they could not sustain themselves and as a result, those columns collapsed. The crates flew through the heated mist and crashed down on the other end of the warehouse, where some of them landed partially destroyed after suffering the heat of the mist, but it was less than what would have been destroyed had Hitze continued the attack.

Meanwhile, there was a silence that followed the female Bount’s request. For a small second, the Bount mercenary seemed to ignore Alice. He made no attempt to turn in her direction and it appeared that he wasn’t going to indulge her with an answer. ”Have you heard of the man they call the True Bount?” he questioned without turning to face her. A question to her own question. If Alice knew enough about the Bount race, she would know the answer to his question. Rumors circulated amongst the Bount race about a level of power Bount could reach. It was their peak, what they called the True Bount. In the past there had been many, but in recent years, only two remained. One had disappeared mysteriously and the other was said to have died. It was not clear whether the mercenary was referring to Kassen Oro or Jin Yamada. The Bount turned his head towards Alice now and this time looked at her directly as he spoke. The white glow from the eyeholes of his mask bore into her deeply from beneath the shadows of that hooded cloak. ”These shipments are only a means to an end. I don’t plan on using them or selling them on the black market. I have another use for them. If I wanted, I could kill all of you and take them without going through all this trouble, but I had hoped that we could have avoided unnecessary bloodshed.” he explained, continuing to ignore her request for money in exchange for her service. He fully turned towards her and extended a hand as if to invite her to grasp it.

”Come, join me and he will protect you from them. His protection will be worth more than all the Ryo in this world. He has a vision for all Bount. You won’t have to hide anymore. You won’t have to fear the Shinigami anymore. You won’t have to fear anyone. Oase will soon become reality…” If she knew of the rumors, Alice might begin to wonder who this True Bount truly was. What was this vision that the mercenary mentioned? Anarchy withdrew his hand and then moved to turn away from the woman; though he remained alert incase her ploy was a ruse that would get him to lower his guard. ”I will give you time to make your decision. Because you are a Bount, I will give you that small mercy. I can’t say the same for your friends, however…” Without giving her time to respond, Anarchy moved. Flames from those black boots of his propelled him upwards and into the air. He stared down at her as he launched upwards, and then he fell downwards and launched himself with the flames down into the battle below. He would leave her to ponder his message, and consider what he had just told her.

As he neared Gold, he descended and landed beside her. His eyes bore into the woman and she might feel it, given her ability to sense reiatsu. She had enough energy sensory to feel the fluctuation in his soul; thus, she would sense the anger and the disappointment he felt as he looked at her. Yet, when he landed, the mercenary said nothing. He knelt beside her and placed a hand on her shoulder. Then, a blue glow appeared over that outstretched hand and moved from his hand to her shoulder and then covered her entire body. Then, in a matter of seconds, the woman would see her skin repairing. She would see the damaged skin from her burns sloughing off as new skin grew underneath it. After a few more seconds, she would see her burns healed and she would feel most of her pain going away. After that, Anarchy stood up and outstretched a hand to help Gold up. ”Get the shipments while I cover you and then I can take care of the rest.” he ordered. Hopefully this time, Gold would stick to the objective. But even if she failed, all he needed was one. It didn’t matter if the rest were destroyed. As long as he had one, he could give it to that man for his research. Afterall, he had promised him that he knew a place where he could acquire Zanpakutou and he was going to deliver on that promise, even if Douma didn’t get his own cut of the shipment.

Using the Bount ability to intake spirit particles to heal, the user intakes the spirit particles onto their body to form a glowing outline upon themselves. Using this, the user is now able to walk on water and on air, and also they gain a 50% increase in speed. Also, along with these abilities, the user also gains the ability to heal others. The user is able to cast spirit particles onto someone they wish to heal. If it is in the right concentration, then they will heal, however, if one was to make the concentration too high, then new flesh would be created and the one being healed can now be drowned in their own flesh. They will become slower and heavier until they suffocate in their excessive flesh. This technique lasts for 5 posts.

How to use technique:
Simply intake spirit particles into one's body as if to heal but then focus it on the outside of one's body. In order to heal someone else, the user must be touching them and focus the spirit particles into them.

Hitze had been successful in preserving the integrity of most of the artificial zanpakuto in the crate, foiling the rogue’s desperate attempt to defeat Anarchy’s team. The man had nothing more to contributed. He had no reiatsu left to fight. He was out of options, and so his head dropped in defeat. The rogue dragged his heavy feet toward his brother’s gasping body. “This is the end, brother,” he whispered, taking a seat on the hard ground as his eyes watched the battle continue. “I’ll see you in the next life.”

Where Himitsu and Yetsuna lay, a Garganta immediately opened up behind them. Take it, Nathan ordered the Shinigami telepathically. Tell Soul Society what occurred here today. Live to keep fighting, please. Yetsuna reluctantly replied, and, with Himitsu’s nod of approval, disappeared through the Garganta. The Vice Captain, on the other hand, refused to budge. Both he and Nathan appeared frustrated, the only indication that they were engaged in a mental conversation.

You’re wasting time. Leave, I’ll take care of those rogues. Just get out of here before you get hurt.

Even if you’re right, I can’t run away. Not like those other Shinigami. This is what I signed up for, Nathan. I’m sorry, but if I have give my life in exchange for even slowing people like Anarchy, then I’ll do it. That means giving others a few more hours to stop him or keeping those weapons away from criminals for a little while longer.

“Have you heard of the man they call the True Bount?”

Alice answered the question with a coy smile. “Are you about to dive into a ‘Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise’ story, because I’m all ears.” In truth, she knew nothing about some sort of True Bount. She didn’t know much about Bount in general, other than the fact that she was one of them – well, she was turned into one. Alice had only been a Bount for a couple of years, converted to the race by sketchy Shinigami scientists who got a little too ambitious. Still, she was interested in getting more insight into her new race. This True Bount person sounded important.

”Come, join me and he will protect you from them. His protection will be worth more than all the Ryo in this world. He has a vision for all Bount. You won’t have to hide anymore. You won’t have to fear the Shinigami anymore. You won’t have to fear anyone. Oase will soon become reality… I will give you time to make your decision. Because you are a Bount, I will give you that small mercy. I can’t say the same for your friends, however…” Alice tapped her chin slowly and gazed into the distance, as though all her mental energy was devoted to considering Anarchy’s offer. She kept this up for several moments, until he descended into the warehouse to attend to Gold. As soon as he left, she dropped the act and sighed with relief.

“Whew, that was awkward. It’s kinda hard to say no to that guy without getting cooked like a well-done burger.”

While Anarchy was healing Gold, the Arrancar yelled up to Alice from the bottom of the pit. “What are you doing? I need help down here.” He appeared angry with her insiginificant role in combating their enemies. He thought very simply and was only concerned with the job he was payed to do – like he was bound to that task through some sort of code of honor. It was that code that blinded him to Alice’s disloyalty. He didn’t see her exchange with Anarchy, as Gold had drawn his attention. But now, he was furious that she hadn’t contributed much to their cause. With Plan Z out of the picture, Alice was his only ally. He was forced to count on her, and that would be his undoing.

“Yeah, yeah, I’m on top of things. I’ll blow them all up, so stay put and keep fighting. I’ll make sure you don’t turn to ash. Just trust me.”

Gold quickly recovered after Anarchy’s healing technique had brought her back to peak condition, like she hadn’t suffered any wounds at all. “Thanks,” she told him, though her words lacked any real emotion. Anarchy likely wouldn’t care much for her unenthusiastic gratitude either. ”Get the shipments while I cover you and then I can take care of the rest.” His tone aggravated Gold, drawing her angry eyes. Angry was an understatement, in fact. She was filled with so much hatred that the emotion appeared dangerously close to spilling out of her. Anarchy might recognize that look, as Douma had worn it on more than a few occasions.

“I’ll start collecting them in a storage scroll,” she told him bitterly before going on to do just that.

“Hey Anarchy, I got answer for you!” Alice yelled down into the compound toward the masked mercenary. “It’s a hard pass for me, sorry. I don’t know who or what this True Bount guy is, but I sure as hell don’t care about those artificial zanpakuto. Just pay me a few dozen thousand ryo and we’ll call it even.”

The swarm of fireflies that hid on and under Alice’s clothes suddenly illuminated into azure orbs and flew out of her body, heading into the underground warehouse. They spread out in every direction, covering all corners of the compound. Some would even land around Anarchy and Gold as the Bount healed her. “Alice, what are you doing?” Kayaku called out to her, having just heard her response to Anarchy. His voice was heavy with concern. He knew it. She switched sides. It was over for him. Himitsu realized how dangerous the situation had gotten. He was in danger.

Get out of there, Himitsu! Nathan begged, maintaining the Garganata in hopes that Himitsu would escape through it

Once the fireflies finished spreading out, Alice casually snap her fingers.

“Boom.”

“Bankai.”

For about 5 seconds, blinding light would blind everyone present. It was only five seconds, but it might feel like five hours to Anarchy, who’s dream relied on their success. To Himitsu, who couldn’t abandon his fight for justice. To Nathan, who tried so desperately to achieve peace. To Plan Z, who had embraced their inevitable death. To Kayaku, who was struggling to come to terms with Alice’s betrayal. To Gold, who possessed Douma’s angry devotion to the mission. Even to Alice, who looked on from above at her beautiful fireworks. Those five seconds felt like an eternity. For some of those present, it was the last 5 seconds of their lives.

When the light cleared, the warehouse did not look the same. It didn’t even look like Himitsu’s beautiful bankai depicting the Garden of Eden. It was a scorched wasteland. The luscious green life of Himitsu’s bankai was no more, burned to a crisp. It could not withstand the Kamekaze attack of Alice’s doll. The fireflies had self-destructed, destroying all of the enemies Alice designated but one: an enormous tree in the center of the warehouse. That was all that was left of Himitsu’s bankai, just his tree. Nothing else survived the attack.

Only a few were untouched by the flames: Anarchy, Gold, all of the artificial zanpakuto crates, and obviously Alice herself. Once the smoke cleared, Kayaku and Plan Z were no where in sight. Their bodies had been incinerated. And as for Himitsu… he lay on the floor, his skin charred and his glaive, the released form of his zanpakuto, broken into pieces by the force of the explosions. Right in front of him stood Nathan, his preteen body breathing heavily. “I tried…” he whispered between the breaths. He had expended too much reiatsu at once out of desperation. There was nothing he could do for Plan Z or Kayaku, so spell upon spell, he devoted himself to saving at least Himitsu.

With the Akki step technique Placidus, he had teleported in front of Himitsu. As he did, he stacked two Danku shields on each side of them, forming a double-layered protective triangle. He even added Bakudo #87: Tsutsumi as another protective sphere around them. None were powerful enough to stop the full force of the explosion. In the end, Nathan’s reiatsu flex protected Himitsu from the front, but the fireflies were all around them. They broke through the defenses on each side, burning through Himitsu’s skin as they did. Without Nathan’s defensive spells, Himitsu would be dead, just like the Arrancar and the Rogues.

“I tried… but I couldn’t save them all.”

Alice hopped down from above the warehouse, skipping over to Anarchy. “Ta daaaa!” she exclaimed, throwing her hands up with excitement. “You can tell that True Bount of yours ‘You’re welcome.’ And make sure he gets me my paycheck. Until then, I’ll help your lovely assistant over there collect our cargo,” she said, following after Gold who had begun collecting crates into the storage scroll.

Once Alice left Anarchy, Nathan would trod over to the Bount. He looked up at Jin, tears streaming down his face. I couldn’t do it, he told Jin telekinetically. There wasn’t a hint of accusation in his voice. He didn’t blame Jin. He didn’t even blame Alice. It was his fault. He failed. He needs your help. Nathan’s wet eyes turned to Himitsu. He’s really hurt, Mister Jin. Not just outside, but inside too. There’s something missing in him, and I’m going to help him find it.

I’m going to stay here for a while and help Himitsu. Maybe he can help me too… I don’t want people to die anymore, Mister Jin. Please help me save people, and I promise, I’ll help you. If you ever need to find me and I’m not down here, find Aevus. He’s a Shinigami, but he’s a good guy. I promise, he’ll help you find me.

But before you go, please heal Himitsu.

Alice and Gold were nearly finished collecting the artificial zanpakuto. It was up to Jin whether or not to heal Himitsu, and he even had a few moments before it was time to part with Nathan. Anarchy lived a life of crime, often forced to kill those who stood in his way. Maybe his dream didn’t conflict with Nathan’s, but his means of reaching that dream might. Nathan’s only hope was that Anarchy chose a different, more peaceful path. It might be longer and more difficult, but, to him, life was worth preserving. Regardless of what Anarchy chose, Nathan would consider Mister Jin his friend.

The Bount mercenary looked up when he heard his name. His eyes settled upon Alice when she began speaking about the decision she had made. Those eyes narrowed, however, when she turned his offer down. She didn’t know what she had just turned down. In time, she would realize the mistake she had made. No amount of money would have given her the protection she could have received with just his name alone. If it was money she wanted, he would go ahead and pay her for her troubles. But, she had made her choice and she would deal with the consequences.

He looked around him as her doll once more surrounded the area. He knew their power, from feeling it firsthand earlier. Was she planning to kill all of them? No, she wasn’t going to. She had asked him to pay her, which meant she was only planning on taking out her own allies and the Shinigami. Was she that greedy? To turn on her own allies for money?! Even he found himself sympathizing with the Arrancar and the two Rogues. To die at the hands of someone they had once called allies.

Hitze, she’s going to blow them all up. Shrink and surround us. Jin called out mentally to his doll.I know, master. I’m on it. the doll complied. The air suddenly grew noticeably cooler as the doll of heat shrank in size. It compressed its body, shrinking and shrinking until it no longer filled the entire underground warehouse. Soon, the doll had compressed itself solely around Anarchy, Gold, and the shipments. While Hitze was spread out, the doll’s explosion would be absorbed by the heat doll and weakened. Therefore, it was better for Hitze to shrink itself in order for Alice’s plan to work.

The next thing he knew, the fireflies had surrounded them completely. Then, without any further notice, Alice commanded her doll to explode. Wait, no! As he was blinded by the bright light which illuminated that underground warehouse they were in, he remembered that Nathan had asked that everyone remain alive. He had forgotten Nathan’s wish that no one would be killed here. Because he had forgotten, he didn’t save the Rogues and the Arrancar as those explosions ripped apart the warehouse. He had to shield his eyes with his arms. For what felt like an eternity, the light and explosions remained present.

The Bount put his arm down when the light finally faded and he looked around at the destruction around him. Was this…was the money really worth killing her own comrades? Actually, why did he feel such sympathy for them? Was it because of what Nathan had told him earlier. Did his interactions with Nathan make him more sympathetic? He wasn’t sure. He needed time to process it. He needed time to process what it meant to accomplish his goals Nathan’s way. Was it even possible?

As he was thinking, Alice approached him, and once more asked for money. Her employer will pay you. Anarchy stated in response. He was referring to Douma, the one who had helped him get in touch with someone who had found this shipment. He had never asked for her help, so he was not going to pay her. He didn’t need her help taking care of them. He also wasn’t going to pay her for turning on her own allies, especially since she had killed them. He had promised Nathan that he would only harm them enough to incapacitate. So after saying that, he iignored her and turned his attention to Nathan.

I’m sorry, Nathan.

The Bount felt true sympathy in his heart for both the men and the young boy who approached him with tears in his eyes. Despite them being in his way, they didn’t deserve the type of death they had received. Nathan shouldn’t have had to watch them die before his eyes. So then, were his goals truly feasible? Was it truly possible to achieve the kind of peace Nathan wanted without killing? These were questions the Bount would need to answer himself on his journey to complete Oase. These were things he would need to think hard about.

He needs your help. He’s really hurt, Mister Jin. Not just outside, but inside too. There’s something missing in him, and I’m going to help him find it.

But before you go, please heal Himitsu.

Help him? But he was a Shinigami. Shinigami had slaughtered the Bount and driven them to near extinction. Shinigami were still slaughtering Bount to this day. Nathan wanted him to help…the enemy?! But…Is it necessary to keep holding on to this hatred? What has it done for my race? How many of those who followed me have died fighting for revenge? The Bount looked into Nathan’s eyes and then turned his attention to Himitsu. He looked back at Nathan and then sighed deeply. Without a word, Anarchy moved over the Himitsu’s badly burned body and knelt down beside the burned Shinigami.
