W hat do I do... He thought as he put his hands together, staring down at the space between his feet. His mind was like a hurricane as hundreds of what ifs, thoughts and plans tumbled around in his mind. Would Zack betray Xcution for the sake of Karakura? Or would he ignore the offer Discord gave him and risk his own life for Xcution? This was....troubling to say the least. Zack did not truly benefit from either option given to him, at least in the way he viewed benefits. No money was being involved. Money, the single think Zack cherished in his life and all he ever worked for. All Zack cared about was money. He needed it. He needed more of it. He had to have as much as he could before his life ended. But neither of these options gave him any sort of monetary value.
Zack tightened his grip on his hands as he closed his eyes, his face tightening as he was struggling to determine what the correct course of action would be. Two choices lay before him. Betraying Xcution or remaining loyal. Betraying Xcution would bring all the people who died here today back to life, at least that was what he was told. Remaining loyal to Xcution meant defending the building from whatever Discord would throw at it. Including Discord himself. Five days to prepare to raid Xcution, or five days to prepare a defense. The issue was though, Zacks future after this ordeal. If he betrayed Xcution he would no doubt be hunted down again like he was by the Organization, constantly on the run and watching his back. If he defended Xcution, what would he get from it? Money?
Zack shook his head. He was thinking about money again and not the real issue. Why would Zack want to defend Xcution? He needed to think why he would risk his own life for that Organization? Why...should I care? Zack thought but before he could continue his thought process he suddenly heard a very loud sound from below him. It sounded as though something had just crashed into the building, causing the assassin to quickly get to his feet. He stood still, listening to hear if he heard any sort of sound from whatever had just been flung into the building. Or maybe nothing was inside. Perhaps the body of a passing monster had simply slammed into the building and caused that sound.
Zack completely suppressed his reiatsu, hiding his presence from whoever or whatever was inside the building. Looking to his left Zack noticed a breaker box attached to the wall with cables running up into the ceiling. Following the cables Zack got a quick idea, reaching over and opening the breaker box and getting a look at all the switches. Well, this sucked. He had no idea which box controlled the lights for the stairwell. Gritting his teeth, Zack could feel the energy of something downstairs. Judging from the way the reiatsu felt it couldn't have been a monster. The monsters energy felt...dark. To put it in the best description: the reiatsu of the Hason felt like something torn, ripped to pieces and beaten. Whatever was downstairs didn't feel anything like that. So, using his skills in Stealth Zack decided the stairs in a silent manner, hoping to catch whatever was downstairs by surprise.
A slight green glow emanated from within Zacks right sleeve as a slick black knife materalized from the light. Converting the charm into its weapon state, Zack gripped it lightly as he got into position. Crouched, he waited as the energy source got closer. He could hear the running, this person wasn't even attempting to hide themselves. Which worked just fine for the assassin. Zack rested his back against the wall that connected to the doorway that entered the floor that the intruder was on. Zack could feel it. He could feel the beings reiatsu on the other side of the wall from him. What was it? Was it an enemy? He adjusted his grip on sting, dark eyes locked onto the doorway as he waited like a cat waits for the bird. Suddenly a head peaked its way from the doorway and Zack sprung.
The Shinigami would feel something sharp poking into the top of his neck, right where it became his head. "Don't...do anything....stupid." Zack said, slowly, so the man would understand exactly what he said. Zack slowly stood up, keeping the weaponized Sting firmly against Himitsus neck. He quickly stepped around, coming into full view of the man...and he for the man. Zack got a quick look of the man and his eyes instantly widened. A Shinigami!? His mouth parted just slightly, a pang of disappointment it wasn't someone else rang in his lower gut but quickly vanished. "You're a Shinigami, yes?" Zack asked, keeping the knife at Himitsus neck which had now repositioned so that the length of the blade rested against his throat. He obviously was a Shinigami, but Zack wanted to hear it for himself. But why should he? The cloak, the weapon, the odd spiritual signature, it was obvious who he was.
So, Zack decided to do something risky. He took a step back and withdrew his knife. "Horrible first impression." He said, keeping the blade pointed at Himitsu as he surveyed the hall behind him. "But given the current situation, I think you can understand my caution." Zack said, giving his look back to the Shinigami. "Name and rank." It wasn't a request, it was an order. Zack wanted to know this Shinigamis name and rank in the Gotei 13.
