It was a nice day out and even the far reaches of Rukongai seemed peaceful in the sunlight. It was hard to tell that battles had raged here not too long ago. The houses that had been destroyed from fighting and the ones that were simply dilapidated were nearly indistinguishable from each other. Fuuko and Iroka had ventured out to the district to help bring some additional aid as well as some, hopefully, much needed PR.
"The last thing we need out here is for there to be a rash of sickness when people are still rebuilding. We've got all this technology and medicine at our disposal, we can't forget about the people out here. They are the ones that need it most, ya know?" Fuuko said as she walked through the village.
"I wanna work with Sensei's school to help revitalize these outskirt districts. I want the people out there to know that the people behind the walls, the ones who are supposed to protect them, are actually doing their jobs. It's not hard to bring supplies out here, ya know?" Fuuko shook her head. "These people shouldn't be livin like this when we live inside a fricken castle! It's bullshit!" Fuuko snorted.
"Besides, havin a presence out here means we're less likely ta have these places used as attack points or stagin grounds for people who wanna try and breach the Seireitei." Fuuko explained. "And I think that flashin off that shiny new badge a yers," Fuuko patted the Vice Captain's badge on Iroka's arm, "would go along way to showin the people that this ain't some kinda token gesture. We're not just sendin mooks out, we're sendin two of the top three people in the division."
Fuuko took amoment to stop and look at the sun through the trees. "I got a lot of ideas, sis. An I wanna make sure that when I am captain, they are already in the process of bein implemented. I really wanna show everyone how much I care about the Yonbantai." Fuuko squeezed one fist and punched it into her palm. "And make everyone else put some fuckin respect on our name! Heh!"
Fuuko was getting fired up. Unfortunately, it wasn't the time for fighting. "It just feels like a lot of the other divisions have been takin a step back fer a while now. We gotta be the ones ta keep pushin forward. We're the backbone of this whole operation." Fuuko looked wryly at IIroka. "At the very least, we can't let it be the Juunibantai! Damn nerds! They don't tell no one nothin! How can we trust that!?" Fuuko gave Iroka a nudge. "What do ya think, sis?" She asked as she made her way to a clearing in the village, one that looked out into the open wilds past the district.
