['Stalker']

Calm. That is what is so nice. Not a dimensional hell in the way. Not even dimensional beings being in the way of things. It was just peace and tranquility at this time. Stalker sat calmly at the bar with her cigarette in hand. The crowd was active at her current spot. No one seemed to come over to talk to her. That was perfectly fine in her book. She sat there, staring over the counter at all the alcohol sitting on the shelves. Stalker stared at the liqueur for a long time actually… Some of the faint memories in her mind came back to her as she remembered ordering some of those drinks sitting there. She flicked her cigarette and took a long drag as she watched the bartender tending to his patrons. Her water glass sweating from the temperature’s air. Stalker wiped her eyes as she came back to reality. The bartender came back to check on Stalker; the man’s arm rests on the counter, “Are you sure you didn’t want anything?” Her baggy eyes peered at him as Stalker’s cigarette went idle between her fingers. She could order a drink. She could try the nasty juices that once caused her immense addictions. She thought of what to say for a moment and finally decided what she should do. Stalker closes her eyes, “No. I’ll stick to the water.”

Cold was her tone. The bartender’s eyebrow raises as he gets up and walks away. She calmly opened her eyes and took another drag. How slow the cigarette burned as she exhaled the toxins that flooded her lungs. She lightly chugged the water down. This place wasn’t worth staying around anymore. The woman would reach into her pocket and flicked a small bill on the table as she got up and walked off. The water was free but the service was still commendable. As she walked out, a big, gorilla sized man shoulder checked her on the way out. Her strength wasn’t the best but she managed to hold her ground as she slid by. A few steps were taken as she stopped dead in her tracks. The man snarled at her back as he spoke out in an hostile act, “Watch where the fuck you are going, bitch!” The bar went silent as they all watched what just had occurred. Her cigarette was almost dead in the scene. Stalker really didn’t care about what transpired because this was all just a pointless show for the man. To pick on a woman of her size was truly arrogant. Stalker finished her cigarette with a final drag and began to extinguish it with her fingers. The man felt rather annoyed by her calm demeanor as he began stepping towards her. “Aye yo! I’m fucking talking to you!” As he approached, he attempted to place a hand on her shoulder. An attempt is all that could be said.

Stalker felt his being approaching her with hate, anger, and selfishness. If this wasn’t your average human, this may have been a challenge. Stalker quickly stepped over to the side as his hand reached over and spun around towards his direction. With ease, she quickly grabbed his wrist in a defensive manner. She paused as she looked at the man, her eyes cold and dark as they stared down the man. “You best keep your hands to yourself. I don’t want anymore fucking problems with you.” Stalker shoved his wrist away as this was her warning for the foolish man. She didn’t want to fight, she hated fighting people who weren’t on her level. It just seemed unfair. Not only that but she was unprepared for this kind of encounter. She was more defensive in any situation like this. The man’s eyes looked confused as to what had happened. He slightly backed up in shock, “W-What the fuck…” As the bar ran silent, he began to turn around and walk off in defeat. He knew this wasn’t worth it. A wise move on his end. Stalker turned back around and walked out finally. She flicked the dead cigarette outside and walked along the street. What a shit show that was.

It was finally time to make her way towards her ‘objective’. Though this was not something to rush, she had to go back to where it all started. The place where it all started with her making some goals in her life. Uzaki Enterprises was the spot. As she approached the building from a distance, she blankly stared at the massive building or however big the building was. She developed vague images of certain individuals. The head macho himself was in her vision but the face was blacked out as if it was classified in her mind. Hell, the one that recruited her was more clear in her mind. She just didn’t know his name. Whoever these guys were were some big cheeses now. She leaned up on the building and took a sigh, the night sky lighting up so beautifully with all the city lights.

She actually looks up for a moment and notices with all these lights there’s no stars. She frowned a bit, “It’s been awhile since I’ve seen the stars. I should consider relocating out of this area eventually.” Stalker looked back over at the building to further study it. The thoughts have come across her head to maybe approach the building and enter inside… Inquire who they are and if they’re hiring. Maybe then she’ll discover more of who she is. Though, for all she knows, it could be bad for her to suddenly show up after being gone for so long. It just didn’t seem logical in her own mind.

As she stood there, she pulled out her handy pack of cigarettes. The pack was green as if it were fancy in the flavor of ‘menthol’. She placed the cigarette in her mouth and slid the pack away. Stalker thought about it but this was going to be a boring night again. This time it was just playing ‘I spy’ with her old employers. It was time to make some decisions now that she was back. However, the most important goal in mind is to slowly acquire who she was. Maybe this could be the start?

Now that Ume had settled quite comfortably into her position as an observational technician for the juunibantai, it was time for the diminutive scientist to start making a name for herself within the division. This was something that would be difficult to do as a mere observational technician where she literally just spent endless hours observing data from the work of others and all of the findings brought into Squad 12 by other Squads and sorting it by interest and importance.

It was a thankless job, but one Ume loved. She could do it forever, because reviewing data, as dull as it may be for some, was something she loved. However, Ume had her ambitions. The low ranking, unseated spot she currently held, only allowed her a limited amount of access to classified documents. Ume wanted all the access to all the information and she could only begin to have that if she climbed up the ladder a bit. Climbing up that ladder meant doing some field research. 

Uzaki Enterprises - The name had come up a few times here and there in the data she had read through. Usually in passing with no real information attached to it. Aside from being in the human world, not too much was known about it or its members. It was low on the priority totem pole, considering unlike Hollows and The Vandenreich Quincy, no  one from Uzaki had been actively trying to kill the Soul Society. As far as Ume knew, they were just spiritually aware humans doing human things. 

Still, that meant that they could be up to something and if she came across any plots, schemes or interesting abilities, they might need to be put up to a higher priority. That was precisely why she was dragging a cart through a senkaimon in the middle of the night. She didn't like that it was night time, but she doubted that Hollows roamed around near a place full of spiritually aware humans. 

Despite the fact that she was about to start listening in on a building full of spiritually aware humans, she payed no mind to the rest of the humans going about their late night business. Ume did not need or want a gigai for this mission. She wasn't spiritually powerful enough to require one either, so she ignored them as she pushed her cart. If anyone could see her anyway, she would just look like some geeky girl in a a lab coat, which was much less suspicious that the olde tyme shihakushou her lab coat covered. 

So, as she passed by Stalker, without thinking, she shook her head and looked at the woman. "The country is boring. If you want to see the stars, you should get a telescope." She said, assuming the woman wouldn't even hear her. She parked her cart a few feet away from Stalker and grabbed an armful of equipment and, with a leap far graceful than her nerdy appearance would suggest she was capable of, hopped from the ground level up to the roof.

It was rather nice to see the skies at night but the fact there were no stars was what still bothered her. She kept herself relaxed against the wall as she kept an eye out towards that building she was monitoring. Of course with it being so late, it was definitely going to be dead for the most part. Stalker felt this was just going to be one of those uneventful nights until something mysterious happened. By the corner of her eyes she observed what was some small woman, a cart full of something…

Stalker raised an eyebrow as she pulled the cigarette to her mouth and passively watched as she made a statement towards her about the country being boring. Apparently even with the lights blocking the stars, one could see the stars through a telescope? Something was up and that just didn’t seem accurate. Stalker pushed her back off the wall and cautiously approached the woman in order to engage in some interaction with her. “How is that even remotely possible to see the stars through a telescope when you can’t even see shit through those damn lights?” Stalker would feel relaxed for a moment as she waited for some response. Unfortunately though, it would temporarily feel tense for her.

The mysterious woman would reach into the cart and begin to mess around in it. This caused Stalker to feel slightly alarmed by what was transpiring as she loosened her muscles to prepare for anything. Stalker wasn’t really the type to be offensive unless needed but she didn’t know what the woman’s intentions were. “What the hell are you doing?” Stalker had assumed this woman was some homeless person. The large lab coat on her made it look like she was a beggar at night but things would take an interesting turn. Before she knew it, the shinigami grabbed her equipment and suddenly just leaped to the skies! The cigarette fell right out of Stalker’s mouth! “What the-?!” watching her guide herself to the nearby roof. Alarm bells blared in her mind. Mind you, it has been such a long time since she has seen a shinigami let alone anyone who can perform such an ability like that.

At the end though, Stalker was human. At least for the most part but there was no way she’d be able to jump like that. Not without releasing her fullbring but she didn’t want to do that. The woman didn’t pose such a threat yet. Stalker quickly ran and ran she did! She swung around the building and tried to find an emergency ladder. It was difficult but she found something similar to an emergency catwalk ladder system against the building. This was going to be such a pain in the ass. She jumped high enough from the ground to reach the first ladder and began her ascension up the ladder. This was gonna take a moment.

Each lousy grip, she would climb. It wasn’t the tallest building around but it was sure as hell tall. As she made it to the first level, she crossed on the catwalk and climbed on the second ladder. It seemed like forever with that one… She would quickly pull herself up and quickly climb. Two floors became three, three became four. It felt like forever but she managed to reach the end which didn’t make it to the rooftop exactly. She had to jump with all her heart just to grab the ledge. It was a lot of work, but she managed to pull herself up to the top. The woman was winded as hell, panting to herself. Stalker was prepared for what was next but she wasn’t sure what else to expect. A sniper rifle maybe she grabbed? Maybe she’s planting a bomb? Stalker was ready for anything but it’s probably going to be something completely whack!

Ume thought she heard a response to her question, but she wasn't going to stop to acknowledge it. It could have just been anyone talking, even if she knew  they had directly answered her. Well, that  was bothersome, but, they didn't seem to want to interfere with what Ume was doing, so she went about her business. It was best to just hope nothing annoying would come of it. 

What she had to do first was set up a device that could listen into the Uzaki building from her position across the way. She attached a small tripod looking thing and then set a device on it. Once it was locked in place, she added some more parts to the device and then fired it up. It would take a few moments to calibrate before she could tune it to try and find the right frequencies to be able to listen with. 

Halfway through is when she heard something noisy and panting shambling up onto the roof. Ume froze and her eyes widened until she realized it was just the woman from before. Then, a deep sigh escaped her mouth and she went back to what she was doing. She didn't know if the woman was hostile or not, but clearly she was just some kind of spiritually aware human. Ume could just jump away and be done with her. 

As she fidgeted with setting up the listening device, she only spared a glance backwards at Stalker. "What do you want?" She asked. "I'm busy, so please don't waste my time. I don't have a telescope with me." Ume added. "But the view might be better up here, since there's less light."

It seemed rather strange this woman was able to do a lot like that. Grab some mysterious stuff then jump onto the ceiling? Something was up and Stalker intended on finding out what was up with that. As she finally made it, she would observe her setting up something which prompted her to raise an eyebrow. Winded, she caught her breath and could hear the woman sighing after realizing it was just Stalker trying to catch up with her. Stalker slowly approached with caution as the woman didn't seemed at all phased by Stalker. Rather interesting because Stalker could be a threat to her but she chose to ease up. Perhaps this could be a sign of some trust, perhaps? Stalker would walk probably fifteen feet away from her and watch her set up the device.

Ume politely asked Stalker to not disturb her yet what she was doing was making the shadow fullbringer curious. She wouldn't show any hostility towards Ume but would ask in a light manner, "Watcha got there? If that's not a telescope than surely you're doing something else." She would look over at the headquarters and somewhat click two sticks together in her brain. That palace or whatever it was surely would attract special people. Just look at Ume and Stalker. Stalker would finally approach but walk to the side of Ume and the device and look out towards the massive structure-like citadel. Her eyes reflecting off the lights. "Lights like that, I doubt you'd still see the stars from anywhere around here."

Stalker wouldn't disturb Ume, in fact she respected what Ume was doing. The device didn't appear to be offensive in nature. She would scratch her arm due to pure idleness. "You looked surprised earlier that I seen you. Are you something I shouldn't?" She would glare at Ume for a response. Whatever it may be, Stalker wasn't going to act out on it... Even if it was an annoyed response. Instead, she was glare back at the structure. A memory slips out of her mouth, "You know... I think I used to go this place. Though, I don't recall it being so massive. The area though does seem familiar to me. Do you happen to know what this place is really? I know it's some sort of massive corporation or something but I think there's more to it." Stalker would place her hands on her hips, watching the scene before them. If someone was into cities, this would surely be the spot to go.

Ume knew better than for that to be the end of it. If the girl was up here, then she could see Ume and if she could see Ume, then she was going to keep asking questions. They came quickly and Ume sighed as she stopped fiddling with her devices and looked at the blonde. "You aren't going to go away, are you?" She asked rhetorically.

Ume took a moment to pull a can of energy drink from her lab coat and then cracked it. She took a sloppy sip from it and then offered it to Stalker. It would be quite sour if she took a sip. Not only that, but Ume had accidentally flashed a bit of her zanpakutou that was staffed into the obi sash that was wrapped around her shikaushou that her lab coat fit over. Ume had it with her because she had to, but at this point, it was more of a fashion statement than a weapon that the scientist ever thought about. 

"Clearly you're not a Hollow." Ume said, relief in her voice as she decided to turn her curiosity back on Stalker. "And if you're an arrancar, well, your mask is very  well hidden. I don't think that's the case either. A spiritually aware human, but I don't think you're a Quincy either." Ume ran some fingers through her gnarled purple hair and continued her examination. "I am leaning towards Bount or Fullbringer, but..." She glanced at the building across the way. 

"You're either playing stupid and looking  for something, or, no offense, you are clueless. That would mean you have either lost your memory or have just recently became spiritually aware." Ume tilted her head. "How am I doing so far?" She asked. Ume certainly wasn't going to tell Stalker what her devices were, especially if she was just acting naïve to try and get some information out of Ume. 

She glanced at the building again. "It looks like a big zaibatsu headquarters." Ume said, stating the obvious. A big, headquarters that Ume was trying to infiltrate, but Stalker didn't need to know that. "Don't you have a home?" Ume encouraged, trying to nudge Stalker away one more time. "Why don't you go there? Why were you just standing around?" Ume asked.
