In Sleep It Sang to Me

They say time flies when you're having fun. Before coming to Karakura, Mirim would be inclined to agree. Unfortunately, everything has turned upside down. One day she was getting by singing on the streets and various venues, attaining a local fame of sorts. Then the musical festival occured and she bore witness to the true world as many were slaughtered and maimed by monsters. Shizuka of the X'cution organization would come to her aid. From her generosity, Mirim was given a place to stay and a potential mentorship.

From this place she would establish herself, gaining a job as a singstress working at a local bar, Two of Cups, and began leading a life of normalcy. Such ideal conditions weren't befitting a Frost, and tragedy struck as her friend she had come to adore and love, Aya, had been slain in Mirim's apartment while she was away. Like a storm that was approaching, she'd enlist the assistance of Luke to track down the up and coming gang, the Karakura Fiends, and leveled their den, slaughtered their members, and executed their leader. Frost had plucked the weed from this garden she was growing and eradicated all traces of it and, through doing so, gained the power of Fullbring

Time flies when you're having fun, this much was true. However, time flies in the face of calamity as well, something her family knew much about. Whether it be the deathmatches held in Rome's underground, fighting off demons for a thousand years, fighting off the decamation of one's soul, or simply trying to gain a foot hold in life, a frost's life was a long one, but that time was spent in blood and pain.

That's not to say there was nothing to look foreward to here in Karakura. Mirim still woke up every morning to hit the gym and sang her heart out every evening. A month had passed since she first met Shizuka, but now was the time to settle her membership in X'cution. Granted, she was quite nervous. Though her strength had increased, she was still an infant in the Fullbringer world. Shizuka was powerful beyond what she could currently comprehend. To her, Frost was but a drop in the bucket. To impress her, she'd need to bring her all to bear.

It was a weekend, and she had taken off the next couple of days to accomodate this event. She chose a wide park area to meet when the sun had begun to set. Here there would be minimal people to witness them. Mirim stood in the grassy area and waited patiently. She had to admit that perhaps arriving an hour early may have been a bit too much, but what could she do. She was an anxious one, when everything was said and done.

[Hoshi]

Today had started like any other day for Hoshi. Wake up, get himself ready, and then go see what was available to be done. Sure, it was a day off for him, but he liked to be busy. Something about idle hands and all that but truthfully, it just felt right since he was still in Shizuka's debt. Not that he'd ever really get out of it, monetarily or otherwise. Having a life debt was effectively a debt that couldn't be repaid so he'd be around Shizuka and by extension, Xcution until he was dead or was told he'd paid back Shizuka in full. And even then, he might just stay so he could continue to support her. Thus brought Hoshi to his duties for the day. Write reports, check in with his newest members of his small division, and go collect someone else.

The last task actually had his eyes go wide with excitement before he narrowed them. "Mirim Frost" was the name he read in the email detailing who he was to meet. "Just who in the fuck is this? Did I find someone and forget? . . . I couldn't have right? There was Scarlet. . . that crazy plus woman . . . I didn't convince the other mod soul to join . . . Certainly not Raph . . . No, no I don't think I've met you. Who are you?" He looked further in the email but didn't really find much, really only a name, time, and place to be. He rolled his eyes and then glanced at his clock. Seeing as it was the morning he had more than enough time to go look into her using the resources that Xcution had available. Thus, was how his morning was spent, working and occasionally poking his head through Xcution's database on the mysterious new recruit.

When the time finally came to leave and his initial research had long been completed, he started walking out from the northern entrance to Xcution. All the while letting his thoughts race through his head. Handpicked by Shizuka huh? She must be something else then. Apparently, she's on a probationary status, which likely meant that she hadn't completely agreed to join Xcution. Maybe she was like Scarlet and had been given an offer by UE or otherwise had another group after her. Perhaps she's even got some baggage that Xcution had to look into. I saw something about some Luke guy interacting with her but I can't recall anyone by that name. Mustn't mean anything then. . . but still. . . I wonder what she can do.

As Hoshi walked towards the park, he made sure to use his only available arm to pat his rebars. Namely to make certain that they were on his person. The email had said that he needed to test them out some but otherwise that they were effectively a shoe in. Not surprising given Shizuka's stamp of approval was all but literally on her file. But this brought up a good point. How does someone like Hoshi test someone that was handpicked? Most individuals he'd simply see if they had a release of some kind and watch what spiritual or physical abilities they had. But that was for normal new recruits, Mirim needed something special right? In his mind, this was the only reasonable end goal. The only problem being that Hoshi just . . . couldn't think of any such test that would be that good. Maybe seeing they could endure his White Dwarf form was a good call but even that was questionable in his mind.

As he walked to the location in question he paled somewhat. This was the location that he found Scarlet in . . . and the one he'd burnt a significant power of the area down in. Just walking through the park let him enjoy the sights but also reminded him that this was in no way a good place to do anything. Way too open and way too much that could be destroyed by him. . . On accident no less. Yea. . . this may be breaking the rules but as she's basically a member already I'm just going to have any "testing" be done in one of Xcutions training rooms. This way I keep my own damage to a minimum. . . I really liked this park the first time it was here . . . let alone this version of it.

As he continued walking in, he eventually spotted her. She was a good half a foot shorter than him and not much bigger than him either. Likely she weighed similarly to him if he had to guess. As he walked up, he'd be about as noticeable as the sun was in the sky. A bright white kimono, with a cherry tree on the backside with its branches and cherry blossoms coating the sides and front. He had one arm, pale skin, long silvery hair down to the middle of his back and looked like he was walking out another time period. With an easy smile on his face and a quickening pace as he noticed her, Hoshi made certain that he wasn't going to waste Mirim's time with a long walk over. Another couple minutes later and a bit of sprinting on his end Hoshi, despite panting some, gave her a bright cheery smile and spoke towards her.

"Good afternoon, names Hoshi. Hah, sorry if I'm late the base isn't too far but I got lost in my thoughts. Anyway, you're Mirim right? I got an email about you and your "final examination" before joining up with us. Honestly, between you and me, at this point consider yourself accepted. You've basically got Shizuka's stamp of approval, I'm just the gent that they needed to verify that you've got some combat capabilities alongside any spiritual power. . . . Speaking on that though. . . uhm. . . If you don't mind, let's take this to the base itself. The training facilities are much sturdier. . . and I haven't destroyed those. . . unlike this park. Trust me when I say, it wasn't on purpose, but I'm literally programmed to cause collateral damage. But yea, please follow me and feel free to ask me anything in the meantime. I'd love to get to know our newest member and help you where I can."

Description: This is a sigil, engraved into the blade of a weapon, or somewhere on it that has a large flat surface on it. This sigil comes in many forms, but they all represent fire, in some way, shape, or form. Be it a figure that resembles the user dancing with a figure of flame, a figure meditating with a circle of fire behind them, or something like the Kanji for fire that glows orange pressed into the metal. The sky is the limit for the user.

Durability: Equal to the weapon it is attached to.

Bonuses: This is a modification that can be equip to any weapon from the Kitai Shop. While this weapon is equipped, the user can coat their weapon in flames in whatever manner they deem visually appealing. These flames can launch up to three different fire attacks, with those being a large fireball that explodes, a cone of fire, or a curtain of flames that linger for a post. The IP of the fire is equal to the IP of the Weapon this item is attached to. Each fire attack costs 100 reiatsu.

Drawbacks: Only three Equip items can be attached to any one weapon at a time.
