Sitting there way he normally would at the edge of the river through his home Rafael attempts to clear his mind. Despite living in nature as one would expect of a Beast for more than a year now he still couldn’t manage to do the most essential thing his sensei had taught him. Clearing his body so his body could follow suit was something still beyond him, something that the massive panther hadn’t ever achieved and now at this moment he didn’t think he’d ever get there. Of course the reason now was brought about because of him so the only one he could really be angry at was himself.
More than three dozen humans or pluses whatever they were had followed Rafael from the Rukongai back to his home on this mountain top. Understandably Lolth and Zadora weren’t too happy about it as neither of them had a choice. Rafael in all honesty didn’t really get why the humans followed him. They’d all been injured during a fight he’d been a part of, then he’d used his power to fix the problems that he’d been a part of causing. Now all of a sudden they were treating him as if he were their leader. Despite being the size he was and possessing the strength he did Rafael still was a young man and leading more people than just the girls who’d become like a real family. This wasn’t something he believed he was ready for.
They’d only been here a couple days, days filled with much more noise, days filled with a lot of arguing that Rafael usually had to go and stop after a fist fight broke out. These people were part of the worst section of the Rukongai, people that were suppose to be murderers, theives and worse. He could see though that while most of them could be put in those categories, they were also just broken. They’d been beaten down and disappointed by everyone so why wouldn’t they fight everyone else. He had to find a solution. If they were going to stay here, if they were going to follow him then he’d have to figure out how to make them understand that fighting among each other with real intent to harm wasn’t going to fly.
Something he’d have to figure out later as he picked up the scent of Zadora back in the area from a hunt.
