So given that items got a rework a while ago with a system that keeps low class characters from abusing them, why do we still have Ryo limits based off of Rank? Before the changes it made some sense as Ryo could have allowed some low class characters to buy some expensive items. (Even though the way some ranking works in orgs a class 1-2 character could be rank 2) However now with the fact that items require you to be the class or above to buy it, it doesn’t make sense to keep Ryo limits as they only further hurt items and people who make items. The only type that could abuse this is Gadgeteer and even then it’s only ever a 2 class difference they could buy above, which doesn’t really make or break too many items as it stands. Ryo is already hard to earn and get, so why are we punishing the item system anymore with these rank ryo limits?

The Rank limits were put in place to help prevent misuse of the Ryo system and regulate the "economy," so to speak. There's nothing wrong with that. And it's not too difficult to dedicate threads to Ryo if you do some jobs. One of the quickest way to fatten your pockets is also doing an Adventure, as a recommendation. There's not much of a major reason for us to review limits right now. If others disagree and comment here that they wish to see change, I suggest coming up with a viable alternative instead of coming to us saying you don't like something and want it to change, but then having no idea about what you want it to change to.
I agree that the ryo limits were put in to stop an abuse that happened because of the old system. However that old system had no regulation on what could and couldn’t be bought based off of class of the character the new system does. The abuse that was done before is no longer possible as you need to be the right class to buy an item. The only thing the ryo limits now do is punish low rank characters from being able to save up Ryo to buy items and punish shop owners. The fact that the Ryo limits could mean someone who has a shop doesn’t get Ryo from the shop because it would go over their allowed limit is not only insulting to the player but further dissuades players from creating custom items for organizations or shops.
I am not asking for Ryo gains or Ryo to be easier to get, I’m asking for a removal of an archaic system that only double limits a part of the site. If we’re going on the assumption of possible abuse due to items, AKA the black market items or people spending tons of Ryo let’s break down both possible abuses. In the black market the lowest classed weapon/tool that could be used offensively is a class 4 item costing 10,000 ryo. Meaning that at the very least a person has to be class 4 and done a decently lengthen job thread to get enough ryo for a one time use tool that isn’t as powerful as most release’s at that level. By the time a person is class 4 more likely than not they’ve already become rank 2 given the way almost every org works.
In the black market there are only 5 items a rank 1 character can’t buy (Assuming they’re class one and rank 1)which are G.H.O.S.T, Lucifer Ring, 6 Pill, P.O.W.E.R. and Chameloen. Mind you that most of these are also limited by being class 3 and above which at that point a person would be rank 2 which would mean the only item that they couldn’t ever afford to buy is Lucifer ring. (Which only rank 4 characters can buy).
Getting to the fact that maybe someone has a suggerdaddy character that just blows 500k ryo in a shop, well that’s great and all for the person, however if they’re only class 3 they can only buy class three items, they can’t access the higher class items or get things that are stronger than what they would normally be allowed. The only thing the rank ryo limits do as of this moment is keep characters from being able to save, and make items that have a general appeal to everyone. Why is someone going to make an item that could be used by a lot of people when it costs more than they can have at any given time? Why are people going to set up shops, spend their own ryo to get items approved for the shop only to be told later on “given that you have a limit of 75,000 and you have 60,000 you’re only getting 15,000 of the ryo from that 30,000 ryo item that sold and the other 15,000 is just gone forever.
I fail to see how regulating the "economy" comes into play when with the new item rules the old Ryo rank limits just punish at all levels. Sure if items didn't have a class requirement and could be used without a care in the world yes there would need to be a limiter, but now class is the true limit of what can and can't be used by characters when it comes to items so why are we keeping an old limiter that has become outdated?
Wouldn't it be better to have the Ryo Bank limits be based on a character's Class then, instead of their Rank? There are some incredibly expensive items out there on the Black Market that are completely barred from characters because they can't hit rank 4. What if each class let you have a max of 25,000, or something of that nature? That way it still hits 200,000 at class 1.
