1640: Doctor Bright

As the door opened, the failure would be able to see how stressed the man looked. He was a portly man, and had beads of sweat actually rolling down his greasy face. The man was clearly not one for practicality, as was told by the giant grey mustache he had, as well as the oversized monical he sported around his right eye. The man was so on edge that he actually jumped slightly when she spoke up. In a clear attempt to calm himself down, he patted his face with a handkerchief he pulled out of his jacket pocket, removing some of the moisture that had been accumulating there.

"Well hello there little missy, I'm the Mayor." He told her, not only stating the abundantly obvious, but also ignoring most of what she had told him. "Ya see, I've actually been expecting you." If that wasn't a warning red flag for Keira, then she was obviously colorblind. "I've been told to tell you that you must turn yourself in and you will be treated fairly. If not, y-you w-will, ah, um, b-e collected. M-m-make your c-choice now." He looked ready to piss himself at having to relay the information the youthful woman. He was clearly perfect for a politician.

Having this being stated out to her, she would probably notice how all of the people she sensed earlier were now moving, huddling around outside the office door. It had been a trap all along! The mayor fearfully awaited her answer, looking not only at her, but at something behind her, to her left. If she looked, she would see a strange man, wearing nothing more than a torn and tattered white robe, that covered little of his chest or legs. He was of what seemed to be of Egyptian descent, and was giving her a bloodthirsty smile, looking eager to have a go at her. But for now, he merely leaned against the wall with his arms crossed. Even now, Keira was unable to sense the man, despite him standing there plain as day. He didn't talk, didn't move; he only stood there, waiting for her answer, verbal or otherwise.

Keria should have known that it was a trap from the second she stepped into town. Why would soldiers be so willing to give the location to their comrades, if not to lead her right where they wanted her to. Whoever was leading their operations was smart indeed. They were able to predict her next move. Still it was not like she could not turn this to her advantage. Her head hung low seemingly in defeat. Her pink eyes focused on the wood desk. A low laugh came from the small woman, slowly getting louder and louder into a full cackle. No doubt, making the man before her freak out even more. She lifted her head quickly looking into his eyes. She could see the reflection in them noticing the man behind her.

She slammed her hands against the desk and used one of her arms to move a chair behind her to sit down. She sat down with dignity, a complete opposite to the hysterical, almost deranged laughing spell she had earlier. "Only if i can get a god damn cup of of coffee. This cesspool is freezing." She was completely calm. "And make sure it has cream and sugar!" She shouted behind her to no one in particular. She expected to get some coffee, it was the least that they could do for her calmly surrendering. She still smiled at the man in front of her. If nothing else, she could at least have some fun with him before she has to depart. "Tell me little man, what did it take for them to convince you to help them? Protection? Money? The slut in front?"

She leaned forward lacing her fingers together. Her voice got lower. It wasn't to try and hide what she was saying to him. She just wanted to fuck with the mayor. "I always complete my objectives little mayor, and I never forget a slight. Your town is in my brain, and so are you. I will be looking forward to my next visit. I will end you." She whispered. She leaned back waiting for her coffee. She was sure that the man behind her would approach her soon. It was rude to watch a lady like that. It was even ruder to eavesdrop on a conversation.

The Mayor looked at Keira like she had grown a second head. Did she not realize the situation she was in? Did she not realize the situation she was putting him in!? He was about to retort with something very witty and well thought out, when the eyes of the portly man widened in fear, before hhe sounds of whirling screech of metal against metal was heard from behind the failure. That was the only warnings she'd receive, before a large number of spinning blades attached to a metal stick would eviscerate anything that had been in the chair she had been seated in. The chair wouldn't get the chance to splinter, as the blades did their job all too well for such a thing.

The person responsible was the robed man that had been so rudely ignored earlier, and he looked plenty angry about it. "My orders are to take you in, dead or alive- NOT TO SERVE YOU COFFEE!" He didn't so much yell at her, as he did roar. His voice was comparable to a gravel landslide, so deep and foreboding that it would make lesser men, like the Mayor currently halfway out the now open window, run away in fear once raised. The man swung it at Keira once more, but at a much faster pace, close to 800 speed, while the blades at the end moved even faster. It was almost captivating, if they weren't trying to kill the girl.

Even now, the Failure would not be able to sense his reiatsu in any way, even as he was attacking her. But this man was clearly very powerful, if how effortlessly he was swinging the heavy weapon told her anything. Keira would also be able to hear the distinct sound of military men barking out orders on the other side of the door she had come through. The words were indecipherable, though not for a lack of hearing on her part. Screeching metal was very loud at the worst of times. She could try her luck with the man before her, but there was also the risk of the soldiers barging in soon. Would she stick to her pride and fight? Or would she flee the scene for another day? Decisions, decisions...
