This is a CTP Joint Training thread between Kaen Youji and Hikari Nisei
Out in the many districts of Rukongai were many secret hideaways or areas that had fallen into disuse. Kaen had found a great many of these in his youth, stalking and slipping through the outer districts. Somehow it was a wonder he'd never been beset by one of the nastier denizens of these locales, but here he was today. A shopping district wasn't far from where he had gone, and he had taken a seat on the veranda of an old, dilapidated building that he suspected may have once been communal housing. It clearly hadn't been used in some time, nor was this street particularly frequented. A good, isolated place to train. Some onlookers might come by, but it was where collateral damage could be minimal. Kaen had invited one of his promising subordinates out here to train, outside of Seireitei. Hikari Nisei, or "Angel" as she went by, had demonstrated many of the qualities of a good officer of Soul Society, and Kaen was interested in seeing her develop. He'd invited her out, specifically to practice under different environments. It seemed she'd already gone out on several sorties and missions, and returned with generally favorable results. That was good. He was looking forward to her progress.
Kaen had a tray of rice balls beside him, which he absently picked at, staring determinedly at the building across the street. Shadows were starting to form under his eyes from the overwork he was putting himself through. Overworking himself, to keep himself from thinking too much. A slight shift of his shoulders and Kaen managed to pop his back a few times. Well. He had been working on improving too. Today, marked a day he could test the fruits of his own labors in this match. As Angel tested her own improvement, he could test his. He hoped it would be a useful day for both of them. The Vice Captain glanced up at the sky. It was looking to be around the time that he had asked Angel to meet him here, but he knew that this was a spot well out of the way. It might take her some time to locate the venue of their sparring session. He figured he could give her plenty of time, regardless.
