-Appearance-
Height/Weight: 5'6"/128 lbs
Physical Description:
This youthful woman has a pale visage carried over her from the sickly and almost translucent tone her skin has. The complexion is unmarred by any scars, scrapes, or dirt with the exception of the tinge of a rosy glow around her cheeks. Her hair is a very light and fair blonde color that almost looks pure white when the sun shines on it at the right angle. It is straight, has been cut in layers, and it generally has a casually unkempt look about it. The front locks have been left to hang free with long bangs that hide her face behind its shroud until they are pushed out of the way. The back has been tied up in a loose top knot that helps to keep it manageable. Her eyes are soft and gentle, colored the delicate shade of green that could be compared to fresh mint. Her button nose rests above a pair of pale pink lips that have very subtle bite marks from past worrying and fretting with them. The nails on her fingertips have the same signs with a short cut and an odd jaggedness to them that suggests that they have been chewed recently. They are kept very clean otherwise, and unadorned with any nail polish or decoration. Her spritely frame looks like it carries very little muscle tone to it, and often leaves her being confused for someone a little younger than her actual age.
A pale lilac beanie usually sits on top of her head and looks too big to properly fit. This gives it a deflated and sagging appearance. Fastened around her neck is a small leather choker the color of lavender petals. A silver oval locket is attached to a ring on the choker. It's kept snug, but still looks like it fits her comfortably. Her frame is a little hidden beneath a sky blue hoodie with a white lining on the hood and matching drawstrings. A large pouch and pocket rests on the front of the stomach and it looks like it doesn't bear any special marking or anything out of the ordinary. Covering her legs and ankles is a long violet skirt that is layered in tiers that are carried with ease and sashays with her in light, breezy motions. Black touches the edges of each tier and the damask patterns that consist of curling leaves and vines surrounding bell shaped flower blooms. A black belt has been looped around her waist and skirt, and looks like it has a couple of things tied to it. A dull golden cross that appears worn down from age, and two silver bells that shine as if they were brand new. Her feet are hidden out of sight with a pair of black and white checkered slip on shoes.

-Personality-
Dislikes:
Arguments: Whenever there is an argument occurring, Ikue would have shrunken away from it. They make her anxiety build and tears well up in her eyes from how helpless she usually feels when they occur. Whether it is to defend herself if she needs to stick up for her side of things, or how to help calm two souls arguing before her.
Yelling: No matter if it is out of anger or joy, she does not enjoy yelling and shouting. She is a naturally soft spoken person, to the extreme at times, so the loud words easily barrel over whatever she might have to say and leave her with her silence. It usually ends up leaving her feeling left out. Anger only makes it worse, because of the added tension the noise carries with it.
Others' Sorrow: Don't get her wrong, she is always ready to comfort people when they need it and offers a shoulder to cry on and a patient ear to most others. When she sees people go through emotional pain, it still always ends up bringing a sympathetic ache to her own heart. When there is just nothing she can seem to do to help, it can spark feelings of doubt and depression in her. It ends up making herself feel useless in a way.
Alcohol: She's getting to be the age that she could drink just about anywhere in the world, but she'd really rather not. She's never heard any compliments about the taste of the stuff, and she's seen more than enough to deduce that even just a little too much of the stuff can change you. You can either fall apart into a giggly and silly mess, your sadness can consume you, or rage can take hold of you. None of those possibilities seem worth it to her.
Soggy Food: Usually she isn't that picky when it comes to food, but there is nothing that is worse than food with a soggy, sopping texture to it. The actual taste of it matters very little, because the moment she takes a bite, it's almost as if her body rejects it. No matter how hard she tries after that point, she just can't get it down with a lot of gagging and dry heaving afterwards. It'd be impossible to get her to agree to a second bite after that.
Pressure: If she's having trouble getting heard or noticed, the last thing that she wants is to have attention called to her struggles. Telling her to buck up and speak up or gushing about how quiet and soft spoken she is just embarrasses her and makes her feel more bashful in the moment. She's most likely to just go completely silent after that, and usually a blush ends up burning on both of her cheeks.
Crowds: She doesn't really like to jostle people if she can help it, and often times crowds provide a lot of stimulation that she just can't handle as well as she could. Everyone seems to be feeling different things and she's often left torn in more than one direction. If there is a lot of fear, panic, or anger in the crowd then makes her want to get as far away from the source as she can. Fleeing from a crowd politely, is a very difficult task.
Heat: There are some people who can have a lot of fun in the sun, but Ikue isn't one of them. If given the choice, she would much prefer to be too cold compared to burning up. Her reasoning is that it's a lot easier to get warmer than it is to get colder. You can bundle up in blankets and layers, fix a nice warm drink or some soup, or try to stay mobile. If you're too hot, then there aren't too many options besides getting in water, hunkering down by a fan, or just removing layers. Plus, she loves the bulkier clothes that the cold weather allows her to wear and hates to sweat.
Worms: Bugs in general do not bug Ikue much, in fact, she finds many of them cute; like the tiny jumping spider or the chunky bumble bee. There are some animals she can't find peace with, and that is worms. Earth worms, tape worms, leeches, or lampreys it really does not matter what kind. She finds them slimy, mindless, and feels that the way that many of them live off of you parasitically is disgusting. In fact, she is terrified of being prey to some of these parasites and the very thought of it makes her skin crawl. She would take a lot of offense to being compared to one of these parasites.
Likes:
Animals: Ikue has always been drawn to animals since the day that she was little. She finds them to be gentle souls that just wish to survive and live their lives. There is also a selfless nature to them that she admires, such as the loyalty and unconditional love that a dog can provide a person without question. Even after they have been hurt time and time again, some can still look up at the people around them adoringly and wag their tails like they know that they are going to be different from the ones that wronged them in the past. They calm her and inspire her to nurture them to the best of her ability.
Crafts: Crafts are another thing that calm her soul. Whether it is sculpting, sewing, or folding shapes in paper, she likes to delve in all sorts of areas to spark her creativity and give her something productive to set her mind on. If she had to pick a favorite though, it would definitely have to be sewing. She loves the feeling of fabric between her finger tips and she always feels like a brand new woman when she has a new dress to wear or a new coat to keep her warm. She likes to talk to other people that have a craft that they're passionate about too, and is eager to share what she knows and learn all she can.
Drawing: She mostly sketches in her notebooks when she can buy them, and they're hardly anything to look twice at right now, but it does not stop her from trying to practice to improve. Whether they are absent-minded doodles, new clothes ideas, or just a person or animal that she sees that happens to interest her; she'll try to keep it close. They are like her own personal memories that she never has to lose as long as she keeps them safe. She usually just sticks to pencil drawings, but sometimes she likes to dabble in charcoal and ink as well. She admires other artists that she knows she can't compete with and would always enjoy stopping by museums or stopping by local shops and stalls to see their works.
Writing: When her words fail her, she can always count on the pages of her notebook. It's why she loves to keep a diary to try to keep things from weighing too heavily on her chest. She writes down entries on things she's looking forward to, what she's afraid of or worrying over at the time, or she just tries to sort through the doubts she has to try to make them easier to clear up. Poetry is also enjoyable, she loves how diverse the writing style can be and how simple or eloquent you can choose to make it. Personally she favors it when a poem ends up reminding her of a song.
Music: Who doesn't love music? It always has something for everyone. Ikue can find something positive about any sort of genre, especially when the mood calls for different songs. Her tastes can range from metal and alternative, to classical and folk, all the way down to electronic and indie options. She usually keeps an array of songs on her phone and some headphones so she can listen to her songs while she writes, or just to play while she's in the midst of trying to train.
Volunteering: Starting from when she was sixteen going on seventeen, Ikue has taken up volunteering positions to try to pass her spare time. She's helped out animal shelters, went to keep the elderly company in retirement homes, and gave out food to the needy. It really helps her to feel like she can do something besides fighting to make a difference in the world. Plus, it also makes her feel like she's giving back, so her very existence isn't as much of a bane on the world.
Food: She can't do much more than cook a couple of types of eggs or make grilled cheese and cold cut sandwiches, but she just loves food. Some of the most fond memories can be tied back to what she loves to eat and it's a way to really taste and experience cultures different from your own. She isn't usually very picky, apart from the texture aspect of food, but if she had to pick a favorite it would have to be seafood. It's healthy for you and she loves the taste of it. She often delves outside of the typical realm of fish and enjoys the taste of eel, octopus, and squid.
Reading: A good book has always been the easiest and cheapest way to travel and escape reality whenever Ikue has needed a break. It keeps her mind sharp and can open up new worlds to her. She likes the information that nonfiction varieties provide her, but her favorite stories would have to be fantasy novels. It'd be hard to get her to admit to it, but she also loves to read books on vampires too. Usually the cheesy and somewhat romantic varieties. Being what she is, she can find common ground with vampires, and it does bring her some comfort that even monsters like them can find love just as easily as anyone else can.
Traveling: She can't often afford it, but she loves to go out and see new places. Every country has its own culture, rules, and night life that she loves to experience from afar. Rather than be the typical tourist and try to make the destination cater to her whims, she usually tries to pick up books that can help her try to muddle through the local languages and she usually tries to really immerse herself to get the most out of the experience. While she sort of understands that she's immortal and has plenty of time to learn, she still wants to live every day like it's going to be her last. Life is too short to just stay in one place, so she intends on travelling the world eventually.
Flaws:
Naive: There isn't truly a bad person to her, or a bad creature. There are some people that she can acknowledge have lost their way and aren't good people, but there should always be hope. Even if that hope is to be found somewhere beyond the grave for them. There aren't really that many lost causes to her. It's difficult for her to find the reasoning and rationalize that sometimes there are people out there that just do bad things for the sake of doing bad things or creating chaos. It's also difficult for her to linger on the thought that sometimes fate doesn't care of someone is good or bad, and sometimes things work out unfairly for the just heroes. She knows that the world can't be black and white, and there are a lot of shades of grey out there, but she thinks that shouldn't give her an excuse to become cynical and jaded.
Trusting: This goes back to the being naturally naive, but she's also very trusting. She feels that everyone, even strangers that she does not know, deserve one chance to have a friend or to get help that they might need and it is her duty to do what she can to be there for them. This makes her an easy target for cons, tricksters, and thieves or people who just want to give her a hard time about it. Even if she has been burnt once, sometimes she still falls for it. A seemingly heartfelt apology would be enough for her to consider letting bygones be bygones and to give them another chance. This leads to her sometimes getting hurt repeatedly and wanting to close herself off, but no matter how much pain she's put through, she just can't seem to not care.
Meek: She isn't going to be the one who makes a fuss and puts her foot down about what she wants to do today. She lets whoever she's spending time with decide on what they're going to do, even if she would rather do something else. It might mean trying to endure or suffer through something she's not invested in, but she likes the idea of making people happy. She isn't a very violent soul either, and much prefers socializing or honing her intellect and tactics theoretically than trying to fight out on the field. It leads to her not having as much real world practice as she should have.
Lonely: You wouldn't know it from spending time around her or from the good deeds she tries to do to keep from feeling it, but Ikue is a very lonely individual. It can make her seem like she's trying too hard to be liked or have friends when she finds people that she'd like to spend more time with. She didn't have a lot of people there for her when she was growing up, and she never ends up letting herself get too close to the people she tries to help on a day to day basis. Unfortunately she knows that if the wrong people tried to befriend her, it could end up leading to their harm or death. Plus, she recently lost her guardian figure of many years and is still in the midst of mourning his loss.
Self doubting: Nothing Ikue does will ever be perfect in her mind and there's always something that can be done differently. This perfectionist streak and mentality can lead to her noticing a lot of details that others might miss on one hand, but on the other it leads to her being her own worst critique and enemy. When she is trying to understand something, she'll often push herself to her limits to get it just right and wear herself down faster in her efforts. There aren't many who can get as cruel as the thoughts get in her own mind as well. She is used to thinking of herself as worthless, pathetic, and a waste of oxygen on a near daily basis, especially so when she does anything that ends up becoming what she deems as a failure.
Habits:
Brushing her hair: Often when she's in the midst of talking, she'll be playing and brushing with her hair. Sometimes it's out of necessity, like when she needs it out of the way to work on something properly, but other times it's just absent-mindedly twirling some of it around her finger and creating some temporary curls.
Rubbing the back of her neck: One of the few signs that she is uncertain of herself is when she is rubbing the back of her neck. Usually, this is when she has to explain herself or what she does to another person, or it can just happen whenever she is feeling a little withdrawn or caught off guard.
Biting her thumb nail: She either does this when her anxiety is nearing its peak or when she's lost in thought and trying to figure something out. It keeps her from talking out her thoughts step by step as she walks through it in her head. She sometimes bites the nails on her other fingers, but her thumb nails are usually her longest, strongest, and hold out longer through her chewing.
Rambling in excitement: Whenever she's excited and has someone that's willing to listen to her, she can sometimes ramble on and on without seeming to realize it. She is usually sheepish and bashful when she realizes that she's doing it and tries to correct it, but this sometimes just leads to even more talking whenever she tries to apologize and explain herself.
Fears:
Taking too many souls: She once used to try to tell herself that maybe she didn't have to be like other bounts, and she could try to never take a soul as long as she existed. Now, however, she feels like it could be less harmful to try to exercise control and moderation over herself, rather than try to stop the act entirely. That way, she does not reach a point where she has to overcompensate to try to make up for her starvation. She's always had a fear of hurting too many people just by trying to live, and she fears the day that she stops caring about who's soul she absorbs.
Losing herself: Another part of her fear is losing the person that she knows she wants to be. She doesn't like the idea of one day looking into the mirror and being unrecognizable from her former self. She does not want to be the person that loses sight of all things in a pursuit for power. She could never imagine losing interest in the hobbies that she loves, such as, if she ever wanted to stop admiring and creating beautiful things, or wanted to stop enjoying smaller things in life like a warm meal or stopping to smell the flowers, or even if she one day lost the urge to stop trying to care and give back to people at all.
Getting killed by her first doll: She does not know as much as she could about being a bount and how to survive in the world today, but she knows enough that one day she'll be able to summon her first doll. She also knows enough stories about it to understand that it can be a very dangerous and deadly endeavor. She panics over the thought of whether or not she'll be able to prove herself worthy of controlling her doll and she panics even more of whether or not she'd be able to stop them from killing her if they chose to turn on her.
Isolation: Some often say that bounts are shunned by shinigami and human alike, and Ikue has found evidence that it's still the case today. She is afraid of the life that she'll have to live when she's older. When she becomes decades old without changing her appearance and when she has to uproot the lives that she makes time and time again to keep from being ostracized or attacked for being a vampire or witch. The idea of the added loneliness that it would create scares and saddens her a great deal.
Time: She does not look forward to the centuries ahead of that may pass her by, thanks to the fear of isolation that she is trying to cope with and prepare for. It is bad enough that she might never have a real home, but also if she ever did find company by either lying to them about her identity or them accepting of her as she is, time could end up working against her. If they were not spiritual beings like her, then the years would go by and eventually they would still end up being taken from her. The idea that there would be nothing that she could do to stop it only makes the idea of it even worse and more painful to her.
Goals:
Summon her first doll: She does fear what will become of this experience, but at the same time, she is hoping to prepare herself for that moment. With enough preparation and training, she can win over her doll and together they can work to both grow into great partners for one another. There might even be hopes for more than one sometime in the future, but she does not want to get too ahead of herself. While many bounts seem to treat their dolls as slaves or pawns under their command that do their bidding, Ikue really wants to get to know hers and earn its loyalty and friendship.
Find a way to exist with as little damage as possible: She wants to be able to find the right balance to help her live her life as damage free as possible. Right now she intends on not actively down hunting humans for their souls, and chooses to wait until death has found them on their own terms. Sometimes she comes across of this when volunteering over at the retirement home, and the opportunities there have helped her get more used to the power. Immortality doesn't sound like anything besides trouble, but if it's what is in store for her, then she may as well try to make the best of the situation life has given her.
Find a way or a place to fit in: She knows that someday she'll have to live on the run, but she figures that each new home she'll find to live in will give her a good ten or fifteen years to live in at a time. Maybe even more if she chooses to keep to herself a little more often than she normally does. She figures that will give her plenty of time to find a life that she can find a routine in that will make her happy. She hopes that maybe it can even go beyond that, if she can find a community that accepts her for who she is.
Continue to help others: No matter what happens, there's one thing that she doesn't want to give up on, and that is her efforts to help other people in need. It makes her feel less like a monster doing so, and it makes her happy to see and hear from the people that say that she's changed their lives. She knows that someday it might get more difficult, but as long as she has a couple of hours free, she wants to be able to find a way to continue her volunteer work. She can even go outside of her usual methods, so long as she makes a difference for someone in need.
