Hikari Nisei had rested within the wilderness of the Rukongai near a running stream after another patrol of exterminating Hollows. She was currently a bit paranoid about the return of Santa Ajora the Hollow that took her to Hueco Mundo for two days. Angel tried to relax herself but yet she was constantly tense. She could imagine the return, the people slaughtered, and her inner demons knowing that it would all be her fault. ‘Enough. You tried your best to help the people around you and you deserve rest after the hell you have been through. You can prepare and face her when the time is right. For now, you need to rest your mind.’ Hikari or as she liked to be known as Angel, was lying on the grass peacefully with her eyes closed at the moment. The running stream had trickled and gave Angel a calming serene environment to rest in. Could anything ruin this beautiful day right now?
Suddenly, there was a howl in the air that taunted her. Her eyes shot open as she was reminded of the very thing she was trying to cleanse from her mind for the time being. She had informed her captain of the Hollow Santa Ajora and she did everything she could including making a detailed report of what abilities she knew Santa had. Drawing her white handled Zanpakutou, Angel walked outward to prepare for battle. Running down stream, she had found that there was a masked being similar to a crayfish by the looks of it as it seemed to be doing something akin to vomiting within the river. “Disgusting...I don’t think I’ll be swimming any time soon. Oi! Hollow, come and look at me!” The beast had looked at her way with a greenish liquid dripping from it’s mouth. It looked disgusting what with it’s multiple laws of jagged teeth and rough skin.
The beast had howled as loudly as it charged her direction whilst snapping its claws. It was hungry for blood and it wanted to kill her. It wanted to devour her and as it got close enough, it raised its right claw high into the air aiming to slam it down on her small frame. Angel in that moment had swung her blade upward as the Hollow had shot it’s claw as her blade had then cut through the arm completely, severing it as the claw would drop to the ground. The crayfish Hollow cried out in pain as it’s severed hand would begin to snap at the ground repeatedly as if by reflex. Angel had then pivoted into a horizontal slice severing its upper body from the lower body in a fatal swing. The beast cried no more as the torso fell from the waist before the Hollow vanished into black particles having been purified and sent inside the territory of Soul Society. She looked to the water to see it still looked relatively clean, although she wondered what exactly it was doing here.
Perhaps it was depositing helminthes into the water to infect whoever drank of the waters. It was something concerning to think about and so she considered leaving to inform what just happened. She was going to have to make a report anyways. With a small sigh, Angel began to walk off through the woods to return back to the Seireitei. It was particularly windy today and it seemed a little dirtier in the woods than she remembered. With a shrug, she walked not noticing that somehow a spider had gotten onto her uniform. It was using her as a transport to reach the desired location. Sometime later though, she felt something somewhat furry and odd feeling on her body. “Huh?...” She brushed around on her uniform and slowly felt something crawl onto her hand. There it was, a decently large spider that stood at five inches. “Oh. You were hitching me for a ride were you? Sorry, but I’m not a wagon for you to ride. Let’s just set you on this tree here and we go our separate ways.” Angel wasn’t the type to kill anything unless she was attacked or antagonized. Also, after her bout with Santa, not so much scared her at the moment. As a handmaiden in the Shihoin household, she commonly killed pests like rats and possums anyways while also having to throw them away.
Continuing on her path to the Seireitei, she seemed to find more and more webs for no good reason. It confused her on why this was, but she wouldn’t question it. Just must have been that time of the year where spiders were mating. She honestly liked spiders more than she liked flies. Flies were annoying, ruins food, and their offspring are very disturbing. Also, they don’t seem to have much use in environments other than being food to spiders of course. “We’re on easy street, and it feels so sweet. The world’s bout a treat when you’re on easy street. And we’re breaking out the good champagne. We’re sitting pretty on the gravy train. And when we sing every sweet refrain repeats right here on easy street.” She actually began to sing a little catchy tune she heard in the human world. Her voice was not unpleasant to listen to, but she isn’t a trained singer.
Angel was continuing her path and she wasn’t thinking about much in her little head. She just wanted to make her report, maybe do another patrol around Seireitei and then go to the barracks and sleep. Maybe she would catch a bite also. ‘Maybe I should squeeze in some training as well. I need to get stronger and prepare further for “her” return. She apparently isn’t coming alone either seeing she mentioned sisters. Why is everything in life so tough lately?” Angel sighed slightly as she didn’t want to worry so much. She still had a life to live and she shouldn’t go about wasting it on being concerned about everything 24/7. As a subordinate her job was to follow orders. Well, hopefully her superiors would make wise decisions then.
Little did Angel know that the reason why there were so many spiders in the area was due to an outside influence. She didn't realize how odd it was to see so many of the arachnids in the area and that might be a mistake on her part. She might get into conflict if she made the wrong moves, but then again when was that new? 'Man...there are webs everywhere. I should hurry up and get to the barracks.' Thus Angel doubled her pace from a walk to more of a fast walk. She was trying not to antagonize the creatures in front of her because that could be a very unwise decision. These spiders must have been eating well lately. She wondered what they were eating though. Maybe it had to do with the rise of fly count seeing there was a large amount of corpses after the invasion of both the Vandenreich and Kuroi. Maybe it was something else entirely.
